  12. I seem to recall a ruling from long, looong ago, regarding picking up formulae on top of Truth giving more detailed knowledge for the alchemy to work with. Should that be redundant, the build's a bit subject to change.
  13.
  14. In any event: a one-armed Crux is not a happy Crux. A one-armed Crux who cannot regenerate the missing arm is ESPECIALLY not a happy Crux, and thus has a habit of going out and stomping on the plot where it offends him, but otherwise avoiding the focus of the story where possible, except for being a bogeyman in black armor. Things like, say, undoing human alchemy in a handful of cases.
  15.
  16. But Crux!, I hear you say. You can't undo human alchemy!, I hear you say.
  17.
  18. Actually, you kind of CAN. It requires out of context work with the metaphysical and with souls, and paying the costs with a red stone because otherwise it's a big deal, but once you've gotten used to playing with soulstuff from other jumps it's much simplified - even if Truth is cocking its head and squinting at the math I'm giving him, it's not technically WRONG, it's just more akin to someone pulling a Pythagoras and going "there are no fractions if the numbers are just big enough to iron out irregularities!", while everyone else is going "Crux why are you measuring that object in angstroms?", and Edward is over there frothing at the mouth and going "HUMAN TRANSMUTATION, YOU MONSTER!", and the authorities are going "put up your hands and surrender OH GOD THE FLOOR IS LAVA WHY IS THE FLOOR LAVA!?"
  19.
  20. Like anyone didn't play that game as a kid.
  21.
  22. I may, perhaps, possibly be doing things this way in the hopes of giving the thing behind Alchemy a headache. I admit it. Especially when it comes to me doing my best to figure out how to transmute various things into Wildfire. (Spoilers: turns out that blood turns the Substance pretty readily. I'm not sure what to make of this.) But Red Stones are actually pretty useful! Perhaps not so much here, where everyone freaks out about blood and the concept of a blood transfusion is pretty foreign to them all, I admit. But if I can get somewhere that there are ready sources of blood, it won't be half as bad and I can actually create these things with... relative ease.
  23.
  24. Apparently, getting replicated blood from the Pixelator just doesn't have the metaphysical back end to turn into Red Water, as it were. I wonder if I can use the Kuva Supply to make the reagent, though?
  25.
  26. Oh, and by the way, the universal counter-Charm for a homunculus getting too big for its britches is, of course, grabbing Father by the face while you drop the masquerade, throwing him while he flails ineffectually, and transmuting his blood to the Substance. And then igniting it with Fiendfyre. And flinging the burning body high into the air because he detonated with the power of a reasonably-sized bomb. ...after everyone else has had their dramatic moments to fight him to a standstill, that is, because I want to get my punches in too.
  27.
  28. Seriously, that guy is an asshole.
