  1. The adaptation doesn't even deserve to be called Little Busters. Almost every bit of comedy is weaker in the anime. The animation is inconsistent, and the directing is often weak aside from the heroine route endings. The pacing can be pretty awful. Every character is at least significantly worse and less dynamic than they were in the VN. The foreshadowing is excessive and unnecessary at times. Watching Riki in 3rd person help a watered down heroine in a watered down heroine route that is reduced to 25% of the dialogue, friendship lessening emotional attachment between the heroine and Riki, and thus the characters and the viewer, and iffy route pacing makes the arcs pretty weak.
  2. Masato's arc was a travesty of an adaptation compared to how good it easily could've been. It was not really complicated at all, but was rushed, badly directed, and the fact that the term "Zombie Masato" even exists shows how much of a joke people took the anime adaptation as. This detracts from the themes that I took seriously from the arc, and it upsets me that people laugh at what JC Staff has made Masato into.

  4. Without going into specific detail, the anime is barely half as comical or emotional as the VN. I can't blame anyone for liking every other Key adaptation but this, because this doesn't even feel like the genuine "Little Busters" for a lot of the show. It feels like a cheap and lucrative adaptation profiting from the name at times, and the show should've been more heartwarming and genuine in its presentation.

  6. I don't care if you don't even like the characters in the anime, because on average, they're not nearly as great and likable as they are in the VN. They lost their dynamic and developing personalities through the poor series composition and voice directing in the anime. Haruka, Masato, and Kud are not nearly as charming as they are in the VN and just come off as plain annoying even to me, someone who personally loved those three a lot from the visual novel.

  8. If you did enjoy the adaptation, good for you. I'm glad JC Staff 's interpretation of the events didn't ruin the experience like it did for a lot of people. Little Busters could've been something amazing, mindblowing, heartwarming, and heartbreaking if it was done right.

  10. I do give JC Staff some credit for improving Komari's character and her relationship with Rin, and adjusting Rin's personality a bit so that it isn't moodbreaking for some parts. The story structure was pretty good, but more episodes were needed, especially before getting into Komari's route. Developments with Futaki in the common route were also pretty nice to see.
  11. There were a lot of other things that needed to be addressed, like Miyuki's practical nonexistence as a character, and the presence of Masato and Kengo and their character development that could've been improved.
  12.
  13. Making the adaptation close in impact to the original is probably asking for too much, but if Maeda cared about his self-proclaimed masterpiece, and if there was a better budget for the show, I don't doubt it could've happened if there was a lot of time and effort put into it.
