- Astral is 13, in Runistia, and inducted into the child militia. She has 3 siblings and lives in a semi-urban section of town. Her parents are Golden Sprint and Ebony Gem (a changeling? or pegasus). She is gray with light yellow and green mane and her cutie mark relates to her excellent hearing.
- -One parent might be dead, still needs to be voted on
- -Curiosity is a pink pegasus with pink hair with a blonde streak and a treasure hunting/pickaxe cutie mark
- -Whispering Nettle is the village elder
- -Frost Shard meets Curiosity to have tea in the Hall and hits it off. She takes her to meet Cryptic and Gemmery. Cryptic ends up vanishing into the night and Gemmery stays. Arrow Whistles, the older sister with a crossbow, shows up... just in time to defend against a riot exacerbated by the newcomer and Astral Echo coming in at high speed.
- -The village elder is captured
- -Curiosity is also captured and we switch POV to Astral and Arrow.
