“Are you watching?”
    Her face filled the night sky of the camera lens.  Her glasses caught a distant light and hid her eyes.
    “What you are about to witness isn’t fiction.  It’s reality.”
    A dimly lit city street.  At this late hour the only ones who walked these streets were the drunk and desperate, but tonight not even they were anywhere to be found here.  There was only a city bus, running yet stationary in the middle of the road.  The view crept closer and closer and became undeniable.
Half of the bus was missing.
It wasn’t as if something had cut the bus in half.  It was perfectly functional, if stationary.  The front half of it simply wasn’t there.  It didn’t exist.
“What you are witnessing here is the truth, the undeniable proof of-- huh?”
A piece of the darkness had shifted towards the bus.   Suddenly the picture tumbled over itself, and the scurrying of footsteps could be heard.  When the lens refocused, people who could only be the bus’s passengers were being dragged out by dark-clothed figures. One even had a dog cradled in its arms. The bodies were limp as they were carried, and when placed on the ground they did not move.  The camera zoomed into one body in particular.  A hat and uniform could be made out in bus’s lights.
“That guy has to be the bus driver.”  The girl’s voice was a whisper now.  “And bus drivers only sit at the front.  But the front of the bus is… uh… not there.  And the people who pulled him out…”  The hooded figures were now circling the bus as the girl’s voice counted to nine.  They began to chant, but it wasn’t in any language that was spoken in this world.
As they chanted, the air around the bus began to shimmer, as if some invisible fire had been lit, and as the chanting continued, the shimmer grew more and more visible.  The camera shook as the hands holding it trembled.
“This is it.”
The chanting grew faster and faster.
“This is what I’ve been looking for.”
The invisible flame burned hotter and hotter.
“Nobody will be able to deny me anymore.  With this, I… the battery?  NO!”
