Reno - Holy Lessons from Fleur Sanctum

[18:30] Reno had to think about it. He had to do the math. Thinking that it'd be somewhat strange, if he found a family member attractive, as he is an outsider... The same was offered from Rain to join his family... "But, if everyone is related, how would you find a special someone in this town?" He considered the ups and downs... But, since it was a new journey, and Fleur had helped him so much.

"Ah, why the heck not... But I wanted to ask.."

He figured he'd come into the family with a joke.

"Since this is a Holy Land. Would I get kicked out, for saying it's nice as Hell up here?" He had some things to work on.

[18:32] That was... honestly a decent question, she wasn't a Holy Magi, and she had no intention of becoming one.. Probably something something emotionally unstable, but it be like that sometimes.

"That's... a good question." She says, turning cute vixen eyes to Fleur.. was she going to be kicked out for not being a Holy Magi..?

Probably not, but it was still amusing.

[18:34] Looking at Reno curiously she smiled at his words and responded promptly.

"Well.. you can find someone special but the thing is did you have someone you already liked? Also.. Thats great news!.. As for.. becoming a Holy Magi.. To my knowledge one of the Radiants here. Does not use Holy Magic. So I'm positively sure you will not get kicked out for.. such words in Osrona. Just don't become and Occultist okay?"

She eyed both of them with a knowing look.

[18:37] Reno could only chuckle nervously. "It's nothing to worry about Fleur." Though, he did wonder, about what one of the holy knights said.

"If I learned the ways of the Holy... You think that it would keep me grounded? To my fist and still help them and help me obtain some human wisdom?"

He had to swap topics, mistakenly drinking a float potion, thinking it was water,"----U-uh don't worry about this either...Bad experiment." He looks to the other two, Cassius and Akiko.

"This is the family huh? Where do you all live? In one big palace?"

[18:40] She was hugged, but it wouldn't be done without a price. Taking advantage of Fleur's occupied arms, she boops her again before laughing manically and returning the hug briefly before breaking away. "And.. there's a place.. not a palace..?"

If it was the house she'd slept in they were going to at the very least.

[18:40] Cassius Otho says, "I myself live back at my own home with a buncha friends, but... Yeah, this is most of us."
[18:41] Reno looks to Fleur with a serious frown.

"Wait, are you sure about this? You know who I am associated with, now I even wonder, if I am capable of obtaining the Blessings of Kraus." He thought of his home town.

[18:45] Thinking about all that was said she paused for a moment before clearing her throat and speaking clearly.

"Well, I will say this. You can learn Holy Magic and stick to what you believe in, Yes. If anything it will just make you a more formidable fighter as well as more durable. As for.. what you worry about now. I'm sure Kraus isnt needed to learn Holy Magic. To learn Holy Magic all you need is the feeling to protect and keep those around you safe. I would explain it in more detail but for now let's get going I want to show you the home Akiko, Onshea and myself currently stay at."

With that she gestured for Reno to follow along.

[18:50] Reno asks, "My name doesn't have much meaning. But, I suppose this is the first step, to obtaining a family huh?"

[18:57] Reno looks around. The house was quite huge. "This is like...A hundred Inn's... It'd take years to rent off this many!" He was amazed. But, he eventually turned over to Akiko and Fleur.

"I don't know what to say about any of this..." Though, there was some iner conflict.. His friend, demon knight Abaddon and Yuna, another demon, was left in Theria. Not knowing where he was, or where'd he ventured off to.

"When I see my old friends again. I hope they won't hold too much against me for leaving Theria in search of Wisdom."

[18:59] The Kitsune had heard of the place on the mountain, and it intrigued her.. but.. why wouldn't it..? A place where money flowed and did everything, for a poor child that was surely a dream right..?

"I've always wanted to go there... The idea of how much money someone can make just doing mercenary stuff has me interested.." Hopefully Fleur wasn't angry about that, but.. the ebon-fox was no Knight.

With a bright smile they glance between the two, waiting for what would be said in response.

[19:07] Thinking about all that she heard she smiled at both present.

"Alright Reno, I'm sure your friend will understand as long as it was for a good cause. Akiko, one day we can go on a trip to Theria can you can see all the nice things about it. I'm sure Reno can tell you things about Theria now actually. I don't know much myself as I've only been there once. Let's hear it Reno! What can you explain to us about Theria?"

She inquired.

[19:11] He had to sigh. There was a collection of memories from good to bad. But, one thing he couldn't do was let Akiko go in with high hopes and meet an end where she is the meal of a demon.

"It has its ups and downs... I grew up there, and it's also where I met Fleur here. I thought she was a pretty face but she was VERY strong...Anyway, Theria is the land of Freedom, and it keeps true to its name. Drakanites, Demons, Ookami, you name it and you will find it there in Theria."

He smiled at Fleur, thinking about his most cringe moment in life. When he challenged everyone in her group, for his beliefs. Now, a changed teen, interred in the arts of the Holy.

"Everyone's welcomed in Theria. -Everyone- And there, you will find many occupations, both good and bad, but the people there respect one another. And it's occupied mainly by those apart of the Flame Keepers guild. They were my first faction before I started traveling."

[19:13] That honestly sounded like their sort of place, a place where it didn't really matter what or where you were born.. It just mattered how good you were at fighting, or leading.. Maybe one day, but they had no reason to worry about that at the moment. "Huh.. That honestly sounds nice."

"Maybe one day I'll go and join a mercenary company.. or even make my own.. Who knows..?" It was a bit hard to tell if they were joking or not, but it would be an interesting time nonetheless.

[19:19] Thoughts of freelance and carefree occupations. Seemed to wistfully pass by the Cadet sworn into life she chose to do good.

"Theria sounds like a place of freedom to those with purpose in this world like many others. However I commit to the opinion that Demons.. are something I cannot seem to believe as something to be kept around the presence of others. Seeing as how Reno states they have been doing so for so long and their have been no /issues/? As for mercenaries.. Akiko, If you feel like that is something you want to do I will not stop you. Please do refrain from taking missions from those who wish to do others harm. If you do make your own then try and make it one that has good beliefs and standards, Yes?"

She responded to both hoping for a positive influence.

[19:24] Now an honorable member of the Sanctum family. Reno just had to ask, about the traditions, the arts. He had many questions. "So, the Holy arts. How are they obtain? What are your family traditions?"

He took a breath, reminding himself to not be so talkative with each interesting topic. "Sorry if it's a lot to ask. I never expected getting into a family so early on in life. Hell, at first. I thought the only way I'd end up with a last name, is if I married someone who already had one."

Now, Reno reached into his pouch. He had a few history books. They spoke on the topics of magic but never did they go in dept with the hidden spells of topics like Holy, Occult, Light or Shadow. "What can you tell me, about your----our family and its history?" He looks at both Fleur and Akiko.

[19:27] Yeah, that was probably something they should hear too.. Though it wasn't as if any traits would be carried by blood, but.. perhaps there was still something interesting to hear.

Vulpine ears flick at the question, those pale-lavender hues shifting towards Fleur with expectation. "Yeah.. that sounds like something I'd want to hear about."

[19:38] Felling a sense of love for both Reno and Akiko. Once hearing about the inquiry into Holy Magic as well as Family traditions.

"A Sanctum tradition that I know of from my parents whom.. I don't have knowledge of anymore. Is that when Onshea is about we can have an outing towards a flower garden in Osrona which we do once every year to get a better connection for everyone in the family. We explain new goals for the year. Ideals for the future and memories of the past."

Stopping to think about the next question her smile brightened.

Noticing Akiko she moved over and offered a head pat towards the cute Kitsune and a knowing glance with a warm smile to Reno hoping she gave him a definitive answer.

[19:43] This had calmed him. The family seemed quite normal. Just like the commoners he adored so much. "Your family has humble origins. No wonder, the fruits of your parents labor shines through you so brightly. I'm glad."

He turns to Akiko, "Looks like we both have much learning to do eh? So, where could we find a tome on the holy arts? If I could, I'd start the process as soon as possible."

[19:45] She scratched the back of her head a bit at that. "Having any family at all that will stick around you is an above average family in my experience.." Being tossed aside like she'd been really seemed to fill her with a bit of spite.

"Though perhaps you're the first then..? Don't see myself becoming a Knight really.. not really my cup of tea I guess." A faint shrug, perhaps it wouldn't be held against her.

[19:49] Given Reno's compliment she smiled and then noticed his interest in Holy Magic she offered a proposal to teaching.

"Maybe I could give you lessons on Holy Magic itself. I'm well adept and more than capable of teaching it now. I've given lessons prior and hope it can help you further your magical affinity Reno."

Looking to Akiko.

"I believe you have a right to believe and do what you want Akiko. I will not hold any of your choices agaisnt you unless you seek the Occultists. As well as a life of darkness and destruction. Then I will personally put you down. I'm sorry."

Harsh.. Maybe? Truthful.. Yes.

[19:57] He was excited, so much so that he got up out of his chair. "I can't wait, maybe this wisdom will help me learn the secrets of time as well... If anything, I'll definitely owe my life to you after this, if I manage to grasp the concept of this art."

He looked down at the table. "I'm not a brute. Despite my use of the unarmed arts. It's done with precision. Learning all that I can, to give humanity that extra edge is the real goal. So I hope that one day, when I seek out the events of finding such wisdom. That Osrona will board that boat, with all of us if you two follow along."

He now waits for the very basics of the lessons from Fleur. He made it clear, that he may have enjoyed fighting, but he was no knight. He was a seeker of knowledge and adventure. But some boots do fit, and maybe he could end up as a knight, an advisor as his name suggest.

[20:02] They were naturally a hot-headed, emotional fox, and.. whether it was Fleur's intention or not she seems to have slapped the angery fox button. "Hmph, I won't do anything like that. No need for 'putting me down'." Perhaps it was the fact she referred to it like putting down an animal and she was prickly about Beastkin racism.. or she was just aggravated about it in general.

Who knows..?

"Though uh.. using your fists is neat, I couldn't do it.." She glances to her own hands, and the small claws that adorn the end of each of those fingers.. They hurt sure but... not that much.

[20:15] Fleur began by simply expanding her Holy Aura more around her visage as it flourished more vibrantly. She then outstretched her palm having it face upwards focusing her emotions on that which she has done so many times before. To need to protect those around her. Even more so her very own teachers past thoughts of them amplified that feeling.

As particles, and wisps of light would slowly emit from her hands. Large amounts of mana control allowing herself to create a small but ever present orb of light above her palm.

"Holy Magic is the light of positive emotion. For many it is on that provides promise to save another. For others, it's and oath to push forwards and not give in. For a few it is even that of compassion. Despite all of those paths, all these share one quality in common."

Fleur would remember he teachers words now smiling. As she recited them to perfection.

"Holy Magic is about warmth. The warm tingly feeling you get when you have done something right. Holy Magic is proof that your good will can be directed into action. That is the most important thing when learning the magic at hand. To act selfless and help others through this blessing."

The smile Fleur had now brightened as she continued.

"Now, stretch out your hands, and focus on those positive emotions. Do you have people you seek to protect? Do you see the will to push forward and help those who cannot? Perhaps you feel enormous amounts of compassion for those who are attacked for merely trying to live their lives..."

Fleur sighed.

"Climg on to it and never let go. Let those emotions become one with you. Strengthen who you are as a person. let those characteristics from within manifest and become Holy Magic. Like the ones I have shown you now."

She stated.

[20:25] It was a lot to take in for Reno. Honestly, it was a match made perfect for his will to protect the commoners. But lately, the most important that he wished to protect just might have changed. So, he did what Fleur instructed him to do. He closed his eyes and reached out, thinking to himself, in a meditative state as Ashe once taught him to do.

"Someone I want to protect right? Anything that matters, in order to act selflessly," Reno spoke in a calm state of mind.

His vision was quite clear. He would not say or mention whom he wanted to protect now. But, it helped, now that he can imagine it fully. "I'll keep this in the back of my head."

So, he thought about who lead him on this journey. The people who brought him here, the events that took place in order for all of this to happen. Oh yeah, it was all coming together now, but in a formation unique to Reno's understanding, and how he was brought up amongst demons, only to be welcomed in the warmth of humanity. That same humanity, he found in Fleur and many others like her.

And, there it was, the one thing he could cling onto. Humanity, and that special person he was able to admire. So, from that point on, he'd focus each breath in the attempt to engulf his fist or arms in a holy light. Though it would likely fail for this was his first attempt.

[20:28] Despite having absolutely no aspiration to become a Holy Magi in the slightest, she would still watch with some small amount of veiled interest if nothing else. It was surely something interesting to see and at least gain peripheral knowledge about.

Lavender gaze catching everything displayed and vulpine ears everything said, they tile their head to one side slightly as that light was formed.. one ear cocking slightly. "Huh.." It was definitely different for her magics, she just.. called on them and they happened for the most part.

[20:33] Fleur smiled at the dedication towards his words. As well as the focus in what he was saying was absolutely genuine in her eyes. Fleur could feel that was something that Reno wanted to commit to.

A small feeling of happiness would be radiated towards Reno. Fleur was the upmost pleased with his try in the lesson. His innate ability to manipulate mana was atleast something he could use to assist in the matter.

"Good Progress, Reno."

She would show praise for his efforts. Fleur would then clap to show she was further excited about his try.

"Well for now we can leave it at that and try again another time to see if you improved on this try practicing that on your own and let's head out and see what's going on around Osrona. For the time being."

She Inquired of the two.

[20:37] She nods, at least someone learned something they would use here.. but they at least had a grasp on it now.

Perhaps they would have some cool magic stuff they could learn in the future, but.. they felt that was something they would have to learn on their own. "Yeah, congrats!" Their earlier angery mood seemingly have faded somewhat.

[20:43] Yes, the teen was capable of manipulating magic. It was just that he choosed not to utilize anything far from his fist as offense. But, this helped him with much of his control. Though it was imperfect and far from obtaining the actual set of skills within the Holy arts, it was progress and for Reno. Progress was good, always better to be doing something than to have done nothing at all.

"It's all thanks to you Fleur, but um.. I can't get cheeky quite yet haha. You're going to have to give me more lessons in the coming days.." Reno stared at his Fist, maybe even seeing a yellow holy glow within them. He was happy, but wondered if he could come up with some form of trickery to use against those who try to injure him.

"The arts of the holy, it's... A good sensation, like the sun itself, like its life is flowing through my heart. Is this why you're always in such a good mood Fleur?" He tossed a joke towards her, but it was a compliment to both her potency in the art and Kraus for gifting the humans with something suitable to combat the art of darkness, otherwise known as the occult.

"You'll have to find something suitable for yourself as well huh? What type of magic are you interested in?" he's read into the most common forms. Even though he did not use them, he could perhaps give her some advice.
