Hi, another buff video. This time we’ll be looking at the gen 5 water bird, Swanna. If you’re enjoying this kinda of content, please consider leaving a like as it really helps out the channel, but no problems if not.
First let’s see what Swanna does before we check out its buffs
Swanna is a beautiful Water/Flying – this is fantastic typing both offensively and defensively – not much resists dual STABs and some really neat resistances, just watch out for electric types!
Looking at its stats, deceptively strong. 98 speed is decent for a low tier Pokemon. 87 in both offenses could be higher, but allows for versatility, and with great STAB synergy and high base power moves in brave Bird and Hurricane, it hits pretty hard. 75/65/65 bulk is not amazing, but can take resisted hits and has Roost. Nothing particular to write home about in abilities, but Hydration ties together rain set with hurricane and water boost.
So what about buffs?
1.	Liquidation
Until now, Swanna had no physical STAB at all! Shame because BB actually hits hard, but a special set was always run instead because Sur/Scald plus Ice Beam/Hidden power coverage. Liquidation is not just passable, it’s strong, accurate and has a decent secondary effect with no down side (unlike BB recoil). This allows Swanna true offensive versatility.
A cool set could be physical Choice Scarf – but I really think this pokemon should get U-Turn!!!
2.	Aqua Jet
Another water STAB and a priority move is really neat for Swanna. Can really catch people off guard. What this allows is a strong CB set, low tier BB really is hard to switch in to, and Liwuidation provides almost perfect coverage. But with AJ you now have a strong option to revenge KO even faster mons!
3.	Z-Moves
This Pokemon gained so much from Z-Moves, with 5 new strategies that give it huge benefit.
•	Supersonic Skystrike based on Hurricane is Swanna’s defining set in gen 7 – offensive Defog. Swanna gains incredible power, no LO recoil and no shaky accuracy. Very useful!
•	Supersonic Skystrike based on BB – catch your opponent off guard with an incredibly powerful physical SS with no recoil at all!
•	Now the more tasty ones – Z- Me First gives +2 speed plus the chance for a powerful attacking Z-Move, which benefits from Swanna having good attack & SpA.
•	Z-Mirror Move gives +2 attack. Swanna only just received its lovely physical movepool and the power boost may allow for a sweep!
•	Z-Rain Dance - +1 speed, rain boost to water attacks and Hurricanes that do not miss, combined with Hydration to prevent toxic stall or paralysis. Another sweeping set which is pretty neat!
Swanna is a very solid Defogger in low tier singles due to its offensive presence, good typing and access to Z-Moves, though it does struggle more in doubles. All in all a cool Pokemon with a neat design (and such a cool pre-evolution!). Give it a try.
