  1. Pokemon Sword Flapple Any% FAQ:
  2.
  3. 1. Why Flapple?
  4. Many Pokemon were released in Generation 8, and one that I found super interesting was the Applin Line. I have not caught an Applin in my casual file, but the moveset of both Applin and Flapple have interested me greatly because of my prior competitive experience. Since Flapple is exclusive to Sword, I figured fuck it and tried to make it work. It's going to be hard, but I think it could do extremely well against the majority of the gyms :) You catch it after the first gym, but cannot use it until you get to Hammerlocke, as it only learns 2 moves by level up, and needs a specific item to evolve which you can only get either free in Hammerlocke, or in the wild area in Axew's Eye, which requires the Water Bike, which you cannot get until after the 6th gym. I won't be using Flapple until after the 3rd gym (fuck fire types), but it'll gain enough EXP to be on par with everything due to its Erratic Experience Rate.

  6. 2. What the fuck is Erratic Experience Rate?
  7. To put it simply, all pokemon fall into a specific experience amount that is needed to reach level 100. There are 6 experience rates at which a pokemon can grow: Erratic, Fast, Medium Fast, Medium Slow, Slow, and Fluctuating. Erratic only needs 600,000 Experience Points to get to level 100, while in contrast, a pokemon in the Fluctuating group need 1,6400,000 experience points to grow to level 100. This puts Applin and Flapple at a better chance of being higher level than a normal pokemon that would be run, like Excadrill, Sobble, Arcanine, all of which are at varying levels of EXP rates.

  9. 3. Do you think this could be a good run/obtain world record?
  10. I think this could be a very fun run and a solid idea overall, but fuck no it won't be getting world record anytime soon. The main issue is the Fairy gym, as Flapple does not get any moves that are technically super effective against that gym, therefore making it extremely hard to beat.
  11.
  12. 4. How many times have you done this run?
  13. As I write this, I have basic notes for the run, but have never officially completed any run of Pokemon sword before other than my casual playthrough of it. I have come close with a Butterfree/Sobble run I did a few weeks ago, and a Greedent% I did last week, but otherwise no official run of this has been done yet
  14.
  15. 5. What's your goal time?
  16. Actually finishing this run is my main goal lmao. But if I had to put a number on it, I would say close to 5:00:00 would be my goal time, if not sub 5 hours would be super awesome
  17.
  18. 6. Do you have notes on this run?
  19. Not yet, will be working on them soon
  20.
  21. 7. Is this a fun idea?
  22. FUCK YEAH IT IS.
  23.
  24. 8. Are you actually going to finish a run?
  25. Yes, Wartab, I am indeed going to finish a run. Maybe multiple runs of this :)
  26.
  27. 9. What if my question isn't here?
  28. Ask away i'm happy to answer any questions :)
