  1.
  2. No longer would he be conflicted after this encounter with his cousin. No longer will he let emotions of the past bring him to make foolish decisions that will cloud his judgement. No longer, will Uri let his guard down for sweet words that came from the lips of a loved one. He'd learn to be neutral from this conversation, to take Sanna's story with a grain of salt and follow the feeling within to do right for the world, and not just for Osrona alone... He was no knight, but, he believed in protecting those who deserved it... Now, whether he was tricked by Sanna's words or not... Uri would be influenced to strive towards protecting those truly innocent, people who despite could be occultist or trying to achieve that power, to be dealt with, only if they brought harm to someone... Innocent, like the display his cousin would put on. His drive now, was to be better than the Knights, to be a true representation of what a Knight should be whilst aiming for his ultimate goal. After all, a Phoenix, shows its compassion through wisdom, a philosophy Uri embodies.
  3.
  4. [07:14] Oracle would agree with Sanna claim. With how things are being ran, it is hardly just to assume that even the most faithful of individual, is truly safe.
  5.
  6. A nod of his head, "Yes... I feel as though, that rephrase was necessary. It is never a good thing, to harbor such a treaty. Knowing damn well what kind of people are in this world. That is why, we need a place, that carries not ties, carries no ill intent towards others, and sacrifices nothing to stay afloat. That is what mine, and my families conquest is, we wish it, and will fight for it."
  7.
  8. He would pause, he needn't go too deep, "Anyways... to piggy back off your last statement, I believe they are a farce. To uphold such a treaty, the way the rulers are doing as of late, is quite comedic. Saying all these laws that governs this land is one thing, but to enact upon them? It isn't that easy."
  9.
  10. He would brush off part of his cloak, stretching his arms out in the process. Then he would go back to crossing his arms...
  11.
  12. "A lovers quarrel, is all it really is. It's like a Marriage, one day when you least expect it, it crumbles. You may think it will last forever, but... most, if not all, never do."
  13.
  14. He would then sigh.
  15. (Oracle Linnaeus)
  16. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. [07:15] Sanna looks to Uri. As usual it seems her cell was quite busy
  19. (Sanna Arborea)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21.
  22. [07:19] Again , there he was, the young Captain, entering the jail chambers. He had his lamp with him, shining it within the darkness... Only for his light to be met by an alright luminated room... It was Oracle this time... And Bo, both visiting or either, speaking to Sanna this day...
  23.
  24. Uri had no issue with this, as Oracle was a trusted friend and a member of his crew. So, he made his approach, looking past the bars, and directly upon Sanna…
  25.
  26. "Hello, Sannie," the younger cousin said so calmly and casually... He would put out the flame within the oil lamp, through his own magic, his dominance over the use of fire. The Sanctum sat down, folding his legs, sitting near ORacle as he scanned the area.
  27.
  28. "I've come with happy news, though I'd hope you see it as happy while I try and find a way to relinquish you of these restraints..."
  29.
  30. He spoke openly, because there was nothing to hide... Despite their earlier betrayal... Despite the five years of cousins spilling blood amongst each other, just waiting to see one another upon the battlefield... Uri, had a strong heart and thus, was able to forgive. "And hello, Oracle and, Bo."
  31. (Uri Sanctum)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [07:21] She nods to Oracles statements. "Well, should a time come when you find need of allies and such sentiments can be put into writing, I'd be interested to look at some kind of alliance. Of equal partners between my family and yours? No guarantees I'd sign it, but I am intrigued."
  35.
  36. She looked to Uri.
  37.
  38. "I also have some good news on that front. But I'll await yours first."
  39. (Sanna Arborea)
  40. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  41.
  42. [07:22] Oracle would nod his head towards Sanna, then he would see Uri, and give him a wave
  43. (Oracle Linnaeus)
  44. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  45.
  46. [07:22] Oracle Linnaeus says, "Hey there Uri, good to see you friend."
  47. [07:29] While sitting down, western native style. He would begin to explain things after Oracle's greeting... "Sannie… You're never going to believe this, but I'm getting married today, to Vivian no less..."
  48.
  49. He smiled, wondering what her response would be... Five years he's waited for this... For five years, he's been trying to survive war, and not kill his cousins on the battle field... For five years, he's turned down returning to the order of the First Light.
  50.
  51. Uri, has been through some times... Sailing the sea, facing pirates and looking for land to conquer... But this, was one of the reasons he decided to be free, to break away from being shy when he was younger... Sanna, his older cousin and now... He had the time to finally patch things up from the past, to catch up on lost times due to war.
  52.
  53. "But that's not the highlight here... My crew and I... One day, we will take an island for ourselves... Make it into a neutral ground settlement, a pit stop, for all travelers, and outlaws even... Long as they pay a tax for protection... If I could now... I'd take you there, Sannie… I'd hate to keep seeing you here, when you've done nothing compared to... Her," he ends there, waiting for a proper response.
  54.
  55. From time to time... His concern would be shown, through the flames within the oil lamp... The embers starting and fading away, for each spike in his own emotions.
  56. (Uri Sanctum)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58.
  59. [07:34] She smiled wide at her cousins adventures. And getting married?
  60.
  61. "Well I'm glad that me getting caught didn't put a damper on your marriage. I assume she's not a great fan of mine. That's quite alright. I hope your ceremony goes well. Demios got married recently as well to Skadi. He has a young one from what I hear."
  62.
  63. There was a small sigh at that. Things she'd missed since being stuck here.
  64.
  65. "Still. Naval adventures and conquering? You've been quite busy." Her gaze rested on Uri for a second. Her huh? Fear of the name? Or fear of a fight?
  66.
  67. "Her name was Duana. Ask what you like Uri, I'll do my best to explain."
  68. (Sanna Arborea)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [07:41] Oracle knew it was none of his business, though, at the mention of Uri getting married, today, he almost flipped his shit. He would turn towards Uri, "What time damnit? Should have told me sooner." he would pat Uri on the back, giving a chuckle in the process.
  72.
  73. Then, he would frown, hearing about Duana… is that who Uri was referring to? No... that can't be right, she didn't do anything wrong. At least, from what he knew.
  74.
  75. He would look towards Uri, then back to Sanna, then back to Uri, "Listen..." he would choke a bit, then shake it off... it really wasn't any of his business, he would just sigh.
  76.
  77. He would glance to Sanna, "It was nice seeing you again, been awhile, but it was nice to talk to you none the less." he would give a cheerful smile, turning back to Uri, "You stay safe friend... me and Brodeur are going to head out now." he would say... it would seem, the absence comfortability was starting to stress him out a bit, it was one thing to get caught up in a discussion about topics one enjoys, but to be caught up with this? No... this was a family matter.
  78.
  79. He would gesture for Brodeur to follow him, giving the two a wave.
  80. (Oracle Linnaeus)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [07:41] Sanna Arborea says, "Of course, thanks for coming Oracle and Brodeur."
  84. [07:41] Sanna Arborea says, "I appreciate anyone who takes the time to visit."
  85. [07:41] Brodeur Zeppelin says, "Have of a great day and much look in your furture endeavors."
  86. [07:42] Sanna Arborea says, "Thanks Brodeur."
  87. [07:42] Sanna smiles warmly to the quiet giant
  88. (Sanna Arborea)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [07:46] Uri nods his head to Sanna… For there was a reason he needed to ask. "Duana, I know her name... She nearly sucked me dry of my own life essence..." He shook his head with a small smirk, "Naughty woman there," Uri was grateful to the gods, that he survived...
  92.
  93. "I want to know... Her voice, the fact that she knows who I am... She never verified this with me during our battle, but her name, her -true- name... The one I've known since our spent childhood together."
  94.
  95. There was a pause in Uri's line.. Leaning forth to the bars of the jail cell, grabbing onto them. The steel would become moist, from his hot breath.
  96.
  97. "Duana, she's actually, Cassy, isn't she?... It's no coincidence, the connection that's made... The time she left, and the time Duana arrived, it was too perfect..."
  98.
  99. He had his resolve, to bring his friend back... To the motherland, to a place where she didn't have to be evil anymore.
  100.
  101. "If there is any way of convincing her to change, please, tell me," Uri, at the end of the day, was a good man... Wanting peace and for those under the influence of the occult to be cleansed, to start a new life... He did not hate Duana despite her nearly drinking the life out of him, if not for the horse that saved and dragged him away upon a rope during the war.
  102. (Uri Sanctum)
  103. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  104.
  105. [07:47] Uri Sanctum says, "Also... I'm sorry ORacle,, I got..Caught up.."
  106. [07:47] Uri Sanctum says, "Heat of the moment."
  107. [07:47] Oracle puts up a hand of reassurance
  108. (Oracle Linnaeus)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [07:47] Uri Sanctum says, "But the weddings at 3.PM."
  112. [07:48] Oracle Linnaeus says, "Gotcha, take care."
  113. [07:48] He had missed her subtle cue it seemed. Poor Uri.
  114.
  115. "This is the second time I've been asked about someone named Cassy. Truthfully, I never met or heard of Cassy. I couldn't tell you if they were the same person or entirely different."
  116.
  117. She sighed. How was it she had to keep telling people this next bit? She was the one in the prison.
  118.
  119. "Duana's dead Uri."
  120. (Sanna Arborea)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [07:52] …. Uri was stunned by the news... "As always... I'm too late..." He sighs, looking down upon the floor with his head against the bars...The young Captain was trying to do right, by taking Duana back home where she belonged, where their childhood as friends were spent.
  124.
  125. He knew, that if he truly wanted to save people from such ends... He'd need to be more than strong, he'd have to be an influence to the masses... "Duana, is Cassy... We were childhood friends, always... Playing tag together and traveling within the walls of Osrona before any of us thought about getting into the Order..."
  126.
  127. The flame within the oil lamp would spark, in a dimmed light. His emotions, currently low, due to his inability to stop people from dying.. Like Faira...Like Cruinne… Seems he was never there, when moments mattered most, when those seconds would be the last of those he once knew. But perhaps... Such will change on his own settlement... The island he dreamt of, Los'tal.
  128. (Uri Sanctum)
  129. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  130.
  131. [07:53] Sanna Arborea says, "Don't mourn too much Uri. Do you want to know her better? You're speaking to one of only two people who probably truly believed she could be good."
  132. [07:55] Uri Sanctum says, "If you'd be willing to tell me... Yeah, I'd want to know, what made her jump off the edge and enter this violent road."
  133. 07:56] Sanna Arborea says, "That.....is not my story to tell. Duana's history was hers and hers alone. She told it to me once and....I'd rather it stay with her. Just know that between the circumstances of her birth and the nature of her parents, she really had no choice but to be what she was."
  134. [07:58] Sanna Arborea says, "The only person I'd answer about her history, is the one person she loved. And that person hasn't asked. They may already know."
  135. [07:58] Uri Sanctum says, "I see..."
  136. [07:58] Uri Sanctum says, "Then."
  137. [07:59] Uri Sanctum asks, "What can you tell me about her?"
  138. [07:59] Sanna smiles and gestures for Uri to sit
  139. (Sanna Arborea)
  140. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  141.
  142. [07:59] Sanna Arborea says, "Let me see what I can tell you about Duana."
  143. [08:00] Uri looking to his cousin, the young Captain would sit.. To listen in on this adventure of the one long gone.... Perhaps, this is what he needed to hear in order to truly know Cassy as he once did as a friend.
  144. (Uri Sanctum)
  145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  146.
  147.
  148. [08:11] "Duana was always a bit enigmatic. I don't think there's any way I can paint a full picture of her but I'll do my best."
  149.
  150. She collected her thoughts and then began speaking, her voice clear and warm, remembering her teacher and dear friend. She wouldn't leave out the grim parts of Duana, nor would she excuse them, but she would show Uri a side most people never knew. The inspiring part of Duana.
  151.
  152. "Duana didn't really know emotions. Or empathy so much. That's why when you hear stories of her fighting or killing they seem so gruesome. The difference between killing and gross acts of torture weren't really existent in her mind. Having said that....that had changed towards the end of her life. But we'll come to that later."
  153.
  154. "When I met her I was in one of the darkest points of my life. I felt that I had no control over my life, that I was being taken advantage of by anyone and everyone, and was crushingly alone. At least in my mind. Duana told me of the occult. I was attracted to the power of the occult, believing I could use it to change my circumstances. I won't get into my decline because of occult, I merely bring it up so you know how we met."
  155.
  156. "She never lied about it. She mentioned it was difficult to control but control was necessary to use it or you'd go mad. She'd listen when I struggled with it. She'd advise me when I had concerns. She, more than anyone I've ever met, was available to talk when I needed it. She never judged me. She never belittled me. She treated me with respect, was loyal, and honest. Frankly I think lying seemed pointless to her. Because of that, she was one of the only true friends in my life. Pericles and others will tell you she would have betrayed me one day. And that may have happened. But.... I wasn't a tool in her mind. She clarified that when I called myself a tool. Not a full person, but not a tool."
  157.
  158. She took a breath to recompose her thoughts.
  159.
  160. "As time went on she trusted me more. What she wanted was to amass power, eventually gain power in Theria and then return Theria to a free country. Breaking the system of the warlords and dragonlord who made it feel like Osrona with a different coat of paint. Duana treasured freedom, and disliked people who either gave up their freedom or weren't willing to fight for it. I believed in her completely. I saw the steps she was taking and supported her in any way I could. Eventually she requested I move back to Theria, as I'd been in Ilburg for a time, because she wanted me at her side when she made a bid for Warlord. It made me feel wanted. Calculated? Maybe. But again, I felt I was a part of something that I believed in."
  161.
  162. "Things fell apart as you know. But around that time she'd gone on dates with another person. Again, I won't say who, their name must remain secret in case fanatics decide that this person too much die. Know that they are not a witch, nor an occultist. They merely saw Duana for the good person she was at her core, and who she could grow into being. With time, Duana even grew to love her back. Something we thought was impossible."
  163.
  164. "And then, like that, she was dead. All her plans for naught, her budding love winked out. The only remnants of her legacy are myself and her love, who keep the memory of who she was and could be alive."
  165.
  166. "So you ask who she was? A murderer, fearless and terrible. A teacher, patient and honest. A friend, funny and loyal. A partner, giving and loving. And to me, an inspiration, of a woman who absolutely refused to be defined by a world dedicated to making her a villain."
  167.
  168. She stopped, calmly looking at Uri. She was beginning to feel like a bard who only spoke of the occult and Duana.
  169. (Sanna Arborea)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [08:24] From a life of tragedy to one where she would introduce the occult to Sanna absent of any lies.. To the life of one struggling, only to find their end shortly after obtaining a glimmer of happiness... A murderer she was, yet, she had a life that made a large turn around near its end, experiencing the fruits of life more so than those who lived it to be good and fight for justice.
  173.
  174. Fulfilling it was, and yet... He could not feel too bad for it... "I will keep this secret," he said to Sanna while continueing to listen between her pauses of the story... Duana was many things it seemed, many things, but she was not a liar... No, she was far from it, too honest if anything. This is what Uri got from his cousin's story, trying to picture the image of Duana going through this chain of events.
  175.
  176. "Sannie… Thank you," he said to his cousin. Finally, standing back up for the time,, till anything changes. "I don't know what to say, other than, I enjoyed ever moment of your words, shared about Duana…" For now, Uri would ponder on the thought... For this, brought to him, a new emotional drive.
  177.
  178. It was not hatred...
  179.
  180. It was not love...
  181.
  182. Uri was pushed now, by the true neutral law... Possibly, one that will empower the journey of his ahead... From here, he could continue fighting for what's right but... He came to realize, that those involved in the many attacks or killings... Might not be totally guilty, but, manipulated innocence brought into corruption.
  183.
  184. "I must go for now cousin... Eventually, I'll return and, we will speak about it again..." He had a promise to keep. One he made to himself, to get Sanna onto the island they shall find... Occult or not... Uri was driven by the emotion of those who wanted to do right, showing no bias towards the occult or anyone, so long... As they were not murderers or worse...And thus came the start of a new emotional drive of a prominent flame.
  185.
  186. The light within the lamp, it would shine brightly upon Uri standing up... This would be, his solemn departure.
  187. (Uri Sanctum)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. [08:27] "Uri. I've given up the road of the occult. I have no drive for it or witchcraft. But I won't forsake my memory of Duana. If Vivian doesn't like that....I'm sorry. But I'm sure you understand. I hope your marriage is happy. Thanks for listening. And coming by."
  191.
  192. She smiled and laid back. It had been hard to see before but Sanna is happier, more at ease than she has been in a decade or more. She's practically glowing, as if all the weight she used to carry on her shoulders has been lifted off and she can see the world with a brighter lens.
  193. (Sanna Arborea)
  194. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  195.
  196. [08:33] Upon his desparture… Uri would turn back... "It doesn't matter to me, what Vivian thinks or feels... I know she's terrified, but... From this point on, I won't hear the words of Osrona officials... Too many times in the past have they punished those who were innocent.."
  197.
  198. It was a true fact. The recent Knights have made a bad name for the law of Osrona, though they were a mere few out of the hundreds.
  199.
  200. "I get it, we're human, we make mistakes..."
  201.
  202. He looks forward, "But, I trust you Sannie… I know you wouldn't hurt anyone with the dark magics... I know you wouldn't hurt me," said Uri with loving words as he'd finally leave.
  203. (Uri Sanctum)
