- boop
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:30 AM
- scrunchies
- Riding I-4 for 26 miles in a UHaul. Seems safe.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:31 AM
- I dunno how bad I-4 is, but try I-35 during rush hour near memorial in Edmond/OKC area.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:31 AM
- Everyone wants to go to Didney world
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:31 AM
- DIDNEY WORL
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:34 AM
- We had a 2 hour traffic jam that we ended up going around through 2 cities and still getting stuck in for 10 minutes
- And we haven't hit rush hour yet
- 2 and a half hours before
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:35 AM
- Welp, But yeah it gets bad, crash almost every day sometimes backed up 4 miles.
- Then you're waiting an hour to get through it
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:35 AM
- Also, everyone goes about 80 despite it being a 65.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:35 AM
- Yeah thats normal.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:35 AM
- There's several crashes every day on I-4. Mostly because Floridians are bad at driving.
- It's in their genes
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:36 AM
- heh
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:36 AM
- And another jam :D
- Yaaaaaay
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:36 AM
- But seriously people love to speed in packs, did you know at least in Oklahoma that if a majority of traffic is going above the speed limit that becomes the speed limit? So we could get an entire massive group of people to go 100 in a 70 and the cops aren't allowed to do shit
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:37 AM
- I mean
- It's safer to go the same speed as everyone else
- Than to go the speed limit
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:37 AM
- Yeah, thats why the law is in place and I love it.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:37 AM
- I think it's dangerous as fuck
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:37 AM
- Just convince everyone else to go 100 and you're flying legally
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:38 AM
- Regulate traffic better, and you wouldn't have to put that law in place
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:38 AM
- Eh, when you're on the good parts of I-35 its easily handled at 100. Hell 150 even.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:38 AM
- But bureaucracy finds it easier to just do the simple, albeit dangerous, solutions
- Still dangerous
- At that speed, you're almost guaranteed to die in a wreck
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:39 AM
- I want to, but lets not argue about this right now
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:40 AM
- And slowing down for the exits is extremely straining on your brakes, if you're trying to be safe with the rest of traffic
- Unless all the exits there are super straight, and not demanding 270 turns
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:41 AM
- Some exits are sharp, most are more or less gentle turns
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:41 AM
- Rip your brakes then
- x3
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:41 AM
- Gear breaking
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:42 AM
- Still horrible for them
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:42 AM
- shrug
- Muh freedom
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:43 AM
- I value safety more. If something is proven safer, even if it limits some* freedoms, I'm a-okay with it.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:44 AM
- And I think rules and laws are to be set in place, yeah, but if I want to be a moron and go 150 on the highway I'ma do it one day
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:44 AM
- Mass surveillance, the war on drugs, the war on terror, and the new proposed gun laws are all examples of what not to pass in the name of safety, as they don't do anything to make people safer.
- If you want to die, and possibly kill others, be my guest
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:45 AM
- It first requires getting a motorcycle than can even go 150
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:45 AM
- Race tracks exist for a reason, Lance
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:46 AM
- Yeah but there are certain times on the highway when its mostly clear in the morning and you can open up, my dad used to do it daily on his way to work on a motorcycle. Also knew police patrol schedules so he'd slip past all them xD
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:46 AM
- As did my math teacher. He still got caught one day when cresting a hill.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:47 AM
- Heh. I wouldn't really do it daily just once.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:47 AM
- The patrols are a minimum. And sometimes they'll put a blip earlier or later just to catch people.
- Well, may luck be in your favour, and they don't add a blip in that schedule
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:48 AM
- Also if an Edmond cop was on the highway in the Edmond area, I could speed all I want in front of them.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:48 AM
- Fair. You don't have Grady Judd, the son of a bitch.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:48 AM
- Wut, who? But its just that the law has Highway Patrol as the sole authority on the highway
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:49 AM
- Grady Judd is the guy who got his tank taken away, and when Trump came back, it was given back to him.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:50 AM
- I can't find anything about that in a google search
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:50 AM
- It's a fully working tank that he uses for more than extreme issues. Robbed a store? You may have a loaded tank barrel pointed at your face.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:51 AM
- :AmicableThink:
- I would do that too, you ain't robbin' no store of mine
- "THAT TANK AINT LOADED, IM HOPPING IN MY CAR AND DRIVING MY ASS OUTT- oh he just shot my car"
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:54 AM
- https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/breaking-news/os-military-surplus-equipment-rollback-local-20170828-story.html
- Apparently it's not just Judd
- Florida is fucked up
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:54 AM
- Oh its law enforcement with it
- I'd be happy if it was a civilian
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:54 AM
- Yes
- Judd is the Polk County sheriff
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:55 AM
- If it was a civvie using it as store defense I would be so god damn happy
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:55 AM
- Which is where I live
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:55 AM
- Heh
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:55 AM
- For the record, the guy hates anyone who isn't a straight white male
- So
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:55 AM
- And just across the road from me is Logan County, with the fucking lieutenant I want to stab
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:56 AM
- At least you aren't under their jurisdiction
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:56 AM
- I can be when I'm on the road between the two counties, which is the road I need to get home
- And that fucker, oh I hate him.
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:56 AM
- I guarantee if I walked up to Judd and told him I'm a witch, he'd shoot me then and there.
- A pansexual, transgender witch*
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:57 AM
- Yeah I had to deal with being threatened a felony charge for GOING HOME
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:57 AM
- Rip
- I mean, if you were speeding
- Or driving unsafely
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:58 AM
- Just because you're blocking the road doesn't mean you have any legal right to stop someone from going home, civil rights. You let other fuckers through, hell you let people go to a gun store down the same road
- Nope, jackass literally violating every law he can and get away with it
- Camellias Yesterday at 9:58 AM
- Rip
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 9:59 AM
- In the end he knew he couldn't get me with the felony and he'd lose that fight, and just gave me a fine he knew he could win because I didn't have the money for court costs
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:00 AM
- offers hugs
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:00 AM
- The best part? When he went after me I was already off the main road, and outside Logan County. Then he turned on his lights. Get back into your jurisdiction you fucking ass
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:00 AM
- That's why you get an uber
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:00 AM
- I hate uber
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:00 AM
- Oof
- Just don't trust 'em?
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:00 AM
- I don't like taxis or any public transport service
- Mostly taxi services
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:01 AM
- Really?
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:01 AM
- I've taken two ubers in my life, the first time was just a few weeks ago in texas with family.
- First guy was okay, but still I don't like talking and he kept trying to get conversation going. Next guy was just so creepy
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:02 AM
- I mean
- Think about their job
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:02 AM
- Oh I get it, I'm not saying to get rid of it. I just personally hate it and don't like to use it.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:04 AM
- Making conversation is a good way to get good ratings
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:05 AM
- And I abhor talking to anyone I don't really know. Especially in person.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:06 AM
- Well, then tell them
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:06 AM
- Especially weird Indian guys that talk in the creepiest monotone voice
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:06 AM
- If they continue, then give them a poor rating and why
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:06 AM
- Yeah no. I'll just drive myself and avoid the situation entirely.
- No reason for me to pay someone to do what I can do myself.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:07 AM
- Convenience. Or needing to relax.
- would be better if good public transit was free
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:07 AM
- Nope!
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:08 AM
- but capitalism in this country cares about one thing: fucking up the consumer's wallet because it gets them more money
- https://youtu.be/QxfkWZPAUg4
- Extra Credits goes over it pretty well
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:09 AM
- Yet in the same way when the top people get more money, so do the people on the lowest rung. Under Reagan it worked, everyone saw an increase in how much they made
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:10 AM
- Mostly only applies to retailers, but it's a good level to start at
- Yeah, but unemployment didn't change, which is was Reaganomics was supposed to promote
- The effect wasn't the desired one
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:11 AM
- What was the unemployment rate?
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:11 AM
- Economics and/or US History, if you have a good teacher for them, will tell you that.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:12 AM
- I also highly don't trust most teachers to be unbiased. Our colleges around the nation are all leftist ran, with hardly any conservative professors to give the other side of the story
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:12 AM
- 7.5%, which was higher than previous office holders
- I'm talking public education
- Not college
- Economics and US History are mandatory courses here
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:13 AM
- And did the average person before Reagan make more or less?
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:16 AM
- They made less, but there was a whole percent more, which is a couple million more with jobs.
- One percent is a massive amount of people without jobs
- 7.5% is far too many
- In today's population, that's about 30 million unemployed
- And, for the record, to count as "unemployed" you have to have been looking for a job in the past month, so that's not accounting for the people who are without jobs and haven't been
- Economics was a good class
- If you're still in highschool, and there's an option to take it, I recommend it.
- Idk what it's like in college
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:19 AM
- I already passed economics and graduated high school.
- I mostly skimmed everything and went to the tests because I didn't give a fuck in my last year
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:20 AM
- Rip you. Missed out on valuable information
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:20 AM
- I passed, all that matters to me.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:20 AM
- To put it simply, Reaganomics was a flop
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:20 AM
- Besides, I believe socialism is evil. Unemployment is normal. Not everyone gets to thrive.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:20 AM
- And proved that businesses would spend less to give a bonus to current employees, instead of hiring new ones
- Unemployment rates went up during his time in office
- When he went in, they were at 6%, and peaked around 7.5% during it
- And idk, I think everyone deserves a level playing field. A ground high enough to allow everyone to have a true shot at life.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:22 AM
- And it also shows that there is more population than jobs, I'm happier to see current employees with jobs getting better pay.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:22 AM
- Thrive? Maybe not. If they're lazy, then minimum comfort should be given, but I don't think they should be left on the streets
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:23 AM
- Except, where does the money come from to take care of those people?
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:23 AM
- Especially since a lot of unemployment isn't the worker's fault
- Taxes
- Remove current welfare, replace it with a UBI
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:24 AM
- And who are you going to tax to give everyone else a UBI>
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:24 AM
- People who make above a certain amount, a significant amount, probably wouldn't get it
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:24 AM
- Thats theft.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:24 AM
- How so?
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:24 AM
- Socialism is morally wrong, as it is theft from the successful.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:24 AM
- I'm not saying take from the rich give to the poor
- I'm saying rewrite what we have now
- It wouldn't be impossible
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:25 AM
- Having different tax rates for income levels is also completely morally wrong. It should be a flat tax rate.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:25 AM
- I did the calculations myself, Lance
- Cut a tenth of the military's budget (which would have minimal impact), and redirect all the money put into welfare, and you could give 400 million people 20k a year
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:27 AM
- Except I don't believe they deserve assistance. I believe everyone starts at the ground and if they want to get anywhere its their own obligation to get there.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:27 AM
- Again, it's not everyone's fault they're unemployed. They could have been let off because the business made shit decisions.
- Something out of their control, and hidden away from them
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:28 AM
- Instead of cutting that budget from the military, I'd rather say "come on down and enlist for 20k a year"
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:28 AM
- Which, btw, accounts for a lot of unemployment
- Fuck that bullshit
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:28 AM
- and that business took even harder financial risks.
- The owners lost out too most likely, and got themselves even deeper.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:28 AM
- If I ever got drafted, I'm going to intentionally get myself kicked out
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:28 AM
- Now I best be off to work.
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:29 AM
- You don't understand business :face_palm:
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:29 AM
- I never said draft, I said offer out to 400 million people that job for 20k
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:29 AM
- You know what? It's pointless arguing economics and business with someone who only understands military policies
- For the record, that's only going to get you to average in a semi-free market, which is what we live in. You've signed yourself over to be a consumer, which in higher up eyes, is prey.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 10:47 AM
- And socialism is evil taking from the successful. The majority of business is small business and those owners most often care about their employees. First thing they wake up employees are on mind, first when they go to bed
- Camellias Yesterday at 10:50 AM
- That's small businesses. While they have numbers, the majority of the money is made by large corporations
- And another thing, if you do end up living in a more perfect world, it would be a modified form of socialism. Anyone could start a business, or close the business, but the current workers of the business would have equal say in how it's run. The owner would get one vote, as would each worker.
- Run by the society, not by the government
- Granted, the government would be run by the people as well. Representatives would be elected into office directly by the people, no funny in betweens. Representatives would basically draft up laws, vote on it, and then the people would directly vote on it, to prevent any overflow of bills, and to prevent the majority from being drowned out by the minority. Keeps large businesses from bribing officials, and keeps the power in the people's hands directly.
- Representatives also wouldn't make a ton of money, they'd make a decent amount. The government positions shouldn't be done for the money, they should be done because they want to make a difference.
- If America can run their government as an experiment, I don't see why I couldn't either. If it fails, it fails.
- The society would be one built around the consumer having the power, meaning they'd have better education for free. Educated consumers are the bane of corrupt business practices.
- They'd have classes in how to run a business fairly and well
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 12:12 PM
- A business belongs solely to the owner. He makes decisions. It's his choice to ask for employee input but at the end it's his business.
- Camellias Yesterday at 12:13 PM
- That's how small businesses operate. Not large corporations, or even franchises
- And I'd say the business is just as much the owners as it is the people making the business money
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 12:14 PM
- I work in a franchise. Decisions are on the owners
- Camellias Yesterday at 12:14 PM
- No, decisions are on the store owners
- Not the business owners
- The store owners only own the land, not the brand
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Yesterday at 12:15 PM
- Yes. The store owners. They run it, they make decisions.
- Some belong to the brand such as products we sell
- Camellias Yesterday at 12:16 PM
- And if employees going on strike can cripple a business, even corporations, then they're obviously integral to a business's success.
- Here, think of it this way, then
- Every employee gets an equal amount of stock in the business.
- After all, a mere cashier, in today's economy, supposedly can just buy 51% of a business's stock, and seize ownership.
- But the problem then is that, while they own over half the business, and have the final say in who gets on the board of directors, they didn't necessarily have to work for that
- If they were born into it, or got lucky in the lottery a few times, with minimal effort, they succeed, where as people who break their backs working for businesses for all their life will continue to be average at best.
- What I propose applies to employees currently working the business. If they leave, or get fired, their vote is no longer applicable.
- If they're bringing down an entire team, or not pulling their weight, depending on the business, the owner can fire them, or the employees can fire them by vote. That would be something the owner decides when making the business.
- Whether they alone can fire people, or if it can be done as a group. They alone would have the power to hire someone as well, or they can make a job in their business for that job.
- I'm not proposing owners have no power in their business. They invested the initial money, after all. But they aren't the only ones who run the risk of losing everything if the business crashes.
- They aren't responsible for a business's success, at least not if it's one that is a service, or factory job. That goes to the people doing the work, interacting with the customers.
- If they do a poor job, and get fired, and the next group of people do a poor job, and get fired, or they all go on strike, then the whole business goes down with them.
- If they have the power to destroy the business, based on their quality of work, then they should have the power to decide the policies of their company, to ensure they don't lose their jobs, unless they're shit at it.
- The owner of the business would still own the land, still own the business, but they wouldn't solely run it, nor would people who bought stock in it run it from the outside, without knowing who does the work, and what the conditions of working are like.
- What I'm proposing is the humanitarian approach to an economy. One where everyone can prosper, and no one is stepped on for someone else's gain. All that's needed is for them to work, and they're good to go.
- They wouldn't be cheated by their employers, they wouldn't be swindled by corporate greed, they wouldn't blindly trust a business that claims to be a pro-consumer corporation, when in reality, they abuse their employees, and treat their customers like children
- The closest to a socialist idea that anyone would receive is access to a decent house/apartment, electricity, clean water, free education, and free versatile public transportation.
- If they want more, they have to work for it. And these kinds of things have been tested, and there's an overwhelming positive response to it.
- People find better jobs, they're less miserable, they go to college to get a better degree, they live healthier, they perform better
- The only issue is the initial cost, and the fact that greedy business men, and greedy politicians, would have to actually work for the money they have.
- And the last one is only an issue for those two microscopic groups
- It's the nature of innovation. We want something, and once we have it, we see ways we can improve it. People wanted a country built on freedom, and equality, but its structure wasn't set up to withstand technology's explosion in progress. When it happened, all that freedom and equality got shunted to the background, until Roosevelt showed up and started enforcing better business practices. However, he also made compromises with monopolies, which still carry on to present day, allowing businesses to abuse employees with little reprimand.
- Something new will come to pass, and it'll either be bad for businesses, bad for consumers, or a compromise, like I'm proposing. Where everyone gets something good out of it, by learning from the past, so we aren't doomed to repeat it.
- Life will not carry on the same way as it is right now, that much is a guarantee.
- And it's a 2 to 1 chance that someone will get hurt by it.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:25 AM
- I don't believe in providing financial equality ever, you're not convincing me on this Cam. If I put in hard work or get lucky and win the lottery to start a business, I will keep my success for myself. Its not greed, its something I earned or was given. Its greed and envy to try and take from the successful.
- Camellias Today at 11:26 AM
- Greed is hoarding
- And stepping on others for your own benefit
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:27 AM
- You're envious of the successful, you want to take what they've made for themselves when they have earned every dollar they have.
- Camellias Today at 11:28 AM
- I'm not envious of them. I don't want to be rich.
- I don't like them, because they fucked up other people's lives to get where they are, or they freeloaded off of someone else who actually put in effort.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:28 AM
- Only the envious want to take their success and spread the rewards.
- Camellias Today at 11:29 AM
- Envy and hatred are two different things, Lancd
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:29 AM
- You're not convincing me you believe in the right thing here. Socialism is evil, it is the result of envy of the successful and it will destroy the business.
- Camellias Today at 11:30 AM
- But again, you're a consumer. Blind to what happens behind the scenes, and in history. Indoctrinated entirely into the belief that if you work hard, you can be successful.
- No economic system is inherently evil
- The evil comes from the people who enforce ig
- And for the record, socialism and communism aren't the same thing.
- I've noticed that you are mixing up the two
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:31 AM
- socialism is the form that leads into communism
- Camellias Today at 11:31 AM
- Socialism is the grandfather of communism. Communism can go suck a dick.
- Socialism in its raw form doesn't work
- Mostly because people don't work that way.
- I offer a selfish and selfless alternative for everyone's benefit, not for the benefit of one or the other.
- Not having to live in fear of the economy crashing, and forcing you to sell your house because you can't pay the bills is a fear everyone has, no matter how rich
- And that can be changed
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:33 AM
- welcome to the real world cam! The world where some people do better than you, and you do better than some others! You can't build this fantasy world ever. Socialism has always, and will always fail.
- Point me to a successful socialist country.
- Camellias Today at 11:34 AM
- Sweden or Switzerland, can't remember which, but one of the two has similar socialist/capitalist ideas merged together that I do.
- If you looked at other countries, at the world, instead of just the US, you'd know that.
- But you're a self-centered American who thinks that anything that isn't capitalism, that fights for everyone, instead of a select few, is evil.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:36 AM
- And Switzerland is a free and open market as far as I can see, and you know what that has done for them? Made their country successful.
- Camellias Today at 11:36 AM
- I'm not saying make everyone's paycheck the same, or make everyone's housing the same.
- I'm saying remove homelessness, and give everyone a platform to start on.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:37 AM
- No.
- Camellias Today at 11:37 AM
- And again, I'm not saying have the market closed
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:37 AM
- I don't want a single tax payer dollar wasted on social programs.
- Camellias Today at 11:37 AM
- Private business owners still own their businesses
- Then you can die with the old world
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:38 AM
- I believe in people taking care of themselves, the only equality they get is that of rights. But the things needed to live? Are commodities. You have to work to earn them, and not everyone lives. Its a harsh world Cam, some make it, some don't.
- Camellias Today at 11:38 AM
- If time travel is ever invented, I will take you back to the gilded age, and leave you there, just so you can see what a truly free market is like.
- A harsh world is artificially created, in this day and age.
- We live in a time when we can look after our entire species, not just ourselves
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:39 AM
- A perfect world where everyone is taken care of requires constant resource devotion to it. It promotes mediocrity, weakness.
- Camellias Today at 11:39 AM
- But instead, we fight, we kill, we rape and pillage, and we break apart families.
- No, welfare promotes mediocrity, weakness, and laziness.
- A program made by the right wing is what fucks up lives of so many.
- Programs made by the left do too
- There is no extreme that you can have that will work. You'll piss someone off in the end.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:41 AM
- Except the democrats started welfare.
- Camellias Today at 11:41 AM
- A balance is needed, and a balance is what I propose, but you're too blind to actually listen
- The republicans used to be the democrats
- Look at your own country's history
- You'd know that
- But no, you skimmed, and forgot anything that could be useful fodder in the future
- You didn't learn from the past, you ignored it
- And that's why the US is doomed
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:42 AM
- They switched just about the time welfare was created, or shortly before it
- Camellias Today at 11:42 AM
- It is taking the exact same path the Roman Republic took
- Started off an empire, became a republic, then became a "republic"
- Before becoming a dictatorship
- And then crumbling
- If you want, I can tell you where in history those took place
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:44 AM
- Gerrymandering has been here since the first days. Not much has changed in that sense, the republicans fight to preserve the constitution, preserve the nation. Preserve the economy. The left are destroying it.
- Camellias Today at 11:44 AM
- The empire phase was during the whole manifest destiny era, westward expansion and all that shit.
- The republic bit was around the time the civil war started
- Lasted for a little while, before hitting the "republic" phase in the 1950's, during the second red scare and the cold war
- Continues like that to this day, but we're fast approaching the dictatorship
- And when it hits? What will you do?
- Will you continue defending it, saying its still a free nation?
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:47 AM
- I can say it will never happen under current republicans. The democrats, big government, they want the dictatorship. Why do you think a law had to be passed to limit terms? Because the democrats kept trying to keep hold of office with one person.
- Camellias Today at 11:47 AM
- Or will you strike the blindness from your eyes, and see this shitshow for what it is: a repeat of history ignored?
- He was popular in everyone's eyes
- Even to the republicans
- History is your friend. Learn from it, Lance
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:48 AM
- But he was the closest thing we had to a damn dictator, there's a reason we have a term limit. There is a reason why Washington walked away from office.
- He knew the temptation of power, and wouldn't allow it to himself.
- Camellias Today at 11:49 AM
- And have you noticed that there are republicans who think the judicial branch is a waste of time? That no one should say if something is unconstitutional or not?
- This is recent shit, Lance
- That empire is approaching. Sooner or later, it will happen.
- The experiment failed
- Not because the founding fathers were idiots, they were far from it
- But they didn't anticipate the explosion in technology that occurred all around the western world
- That variable screwed over everything, in the end.
- You can be as hard right as you want. When push comes to shove, there will be a choice you'll have to make.
- Goodbye.
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:56 AM
- The right is the side that'll survive.
- Camellias Today at 11:57 AM
- Neither side will survive. Dichotomy is mutually destructive
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:58 AM
- We'll find out, won't we?
- Camellias Today at 11:58 AM
- In our lifetimes, yes
- Aegis Lance & Twilight Today at 11:59 AM
- And when we're old and the country is going strong under conservative constitutionalists, and it hasn't collapsed, you'll see
- Camellias Today at 11:59 AM
- That's a fantasy that is impossible due to human nature
- Conservative ideas are the reason I'm who I am. I see them, and they're so fucking backwards that they make me sick.
- Conservatives are the same people who wanted women to stay at home, not vote, who wanted blacks to be slaves, and keep the slave trade going.
- And a large majority still hold those sentiments
- Specifically the ones in power
- Now, good bye.
