[2013-12-07 20:09:24] <CrystalDM> 03The scene: A weapon's inspection checkpoint. The location: Northern Empire Steel Ranger HQ. The problem: The party, and the Steel Rangers, were just attacked by raiders... who got past the Steel Ranger's defenses. Currently a group of medical ponies, all wearing pipbucks and the Emblem of Stable 42 have rushed out of the building, into the checkpoint, to assist the wounded.
[2013-12-07 20:10:48] * Tallie walks over to Emerald_Blitz and looks directly up. "Can I hitch a ride?"
[2013-12-07 20:11:42] * Emerald_Blitz sits on the largest couch in the waiting room, wing over her face, taking deep and measured breaths as she tries to ignore the scuffling around of all the other ponies. The heat of combat plus the immediate argument has left her... upset. She peers out from under her wing, down at the small griffon. "What. Why? I am not going anywhere."
[2013-12-07 20:12:10] * Tallie looks around. "I thought we were gonna bounce."
[2013-12-07 20:13:36] * Emerald_Blitz shakes her head. "The Rangers have everything under control now, including the medical work," she says curtly. "Unless you want to argue with me about something too, I..." She snorts and tucks her muzzle back into the couch and her wing.
[2013-12-07 20:15:00] * Tallie shakes her head, clambering onto the couch. "I don't see why you would. We're all alive, right?"
[2013-12-07 20:16:01] * Militus examines one of the spears. He frowns and mutters, "Where did they get these pipes?"
[2013-12-07 20:16:24] * Asami flops herself up on one of the couches and just relaxes while waiting for the Rangers to remember to deal with them
[2013-12-07 20:16:43] * Clue looks rather scared and confused at the scene of dead ponies right before her. How did ponies with pipes get past huge guns? She shakes her head and looks to the others. "...that was fucked..."
[2013-12-07 20:16:48] <Emerald_Blitz> "Despite the best efforts of those... monsters, yes," Emerald says, shuddering. "Were those... the Raiders I read about? They're much worse in person than they were in the Guide..."
[2013-12-07 20:17:46] * Tallie nods and strokes Emerald_Blitz's leg, trying to comfort her a little. "Yeah, they're pretty bad. But you're an ali-whatsit. You can kick their asses 'till the cows come home!"
[2013-12-07 20:19:41] * Emerald_Blitz pulls her leg away and lowers her wing to look at the griffon again. "Stop that. I'm not a foal. And my purview has never been, as you so crudely put it, 'ass kicking.'" The alicorn sighs. "And here I was hoping for a pleasant chat with the Rangers, then a hot bath and some fresh food..."
[2013-12-07 20:19:51] <CrystalDM> 03Night Rose protests as the group of Stable Ponies descend upon him like a plague of bandages, stretchers, and scanning devices attached to pipbucks. "I'm not that badly hurt!" Feather Fall picks up the phone and asks "Checkpoint to Watchdog, how many were in that attack?" Her eyes widen and she stammers out a thanks  before hanging up. She looks over at Clue and the others. "Estimates put...
[2013-12-07 20:19:51] <CrystalDM> ...the attacking force at around a hundred raiders..." The crystal pony looks quite pale.
[2013-12-07 20:21:01] * Tallie taps her beak. "Yeah, Emerald... all three of those things are rarer in the wasteland than teeth in a prospector's mouth. Just sayin'."

[2013-12-07 20:21:45] * Clue 's ears droop. "A... a... a hundred?..." She starts to backpedal.
[2013-12-07 20:21:50] * Militus looks up at Feather Fall. "Sounds like we were lucky then."
[2013-12-07 20:22:12] * Emerald_Blitz shrugs. "Another thing I have to get used to, I suppose," she says resignedly. She looks up to the crystal pony. "Is there anything else we can do to help?" she asks Feather.
[2013-12-07 20:24:08] * CrystalDM nods to Tallie. "Yes... none of the attacking force survived the assault." She looks over at the alicorn and shakes her head. "For now... no. We'll need help moving the bodies to be burned tomorrow morning, but none of them are corrupted, so there is that blessing. Let me get a couple paladins to watch The Narrows, and I'll show you all around." The crystal pony picks up the phone and starts...

[2013-12-07 20:25:03] * Tallie twiddles her thumbs and gives a tiny smile. "Then we got nothin' to worry about."
[2013-12-07 20:25:49] * Clue looks over her companions and notices Emerald_Blitz on the couch. She makes her way slowly to Emerald_Blitz with her head down. "...Em?... are... are you alright?" She tilts her head up slightly.
[2013-12-07 20:27:43] <Asami> I'm not alright.....but thanks for asking Clue...mehh.."  Asami sighs as she hops off the couch, walking over to where the Crystal pony was waiting to take them inside
[2013-12-07 20:28:32] * Emerald_Blitz sighs as she turns her head to Clue. "No, my dear, I'm afraid not. Mentally, physically, spiritually... I'm a mess. Nothing a nice cup of spiked punch and a hot bath wouldn't fix, however." She rests her chin on the arm of the couch forlornly. "What a first impression we must make..." She watches Asami walk off. "I think I know where my problems with the dragon lie," she says quietly. "I...

[2013-12-07 20:29:37] * Militus approaches Emerald_Blitz and Clue. "No, no it isn't. Tell me, Captain, what did children play in your time?"
[2013-12-07 20:29:53] * Tallie hops off the couch. "Aren't you supposed to be a soldier? Y'know, trained to kill stuff?" She walks over to Asami. "So much for being a soldier. How you holding up, Asami?"
[2013-12-07 20:30:04] * Clue blinks at Asami. "...what?... what happened?" She does a double take between Asami and Emerald_Blitz. "...were you two fighting again?..."
[2013-12-07 20:31:30] <CrystalDM> 03"Oh, you've already sent them? Ah, alright-" Feather Fall is interrupted by the clanking of power armor against stone floors. From the entrance into the building from the waiting area come two Steel Rangers, their power armor plain.
[2013-12-07 20:32:14] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "Another brief spat regarding Asami's evaluation of her own self-worth, coupled with my insensitivity," she says. "As for childhood games... well, we played hopscotch, pin-the-tail-on-the-pony, hide and seek, tag..." She frowns at the zebra. "If this is going to be a heavy-hoofed morality lesson on how children now play with assault rifles and land mines, spare me."
[2013-12-07 20:32:56] * Asami shrugs apathetically "I just participated in a mass slaughter of ponies...I burned quite a few of them alive...I ..I really don't like the smell of burning pony flesh Tallie...All of this is quite disgusting and horrid to me...if this is what 'being a grand adventurer' is like? I'll happily stay home in my store where I'm not required to murder and kill ponies...Caiuse right now I'm having a...

[2013-12-07 20:33:58] * Tallie shrugs. "I've seen what slavers do to dead slaves. Its not that pleasant either." She pats her back. "You'll be 'kay. If you wanna go home I won't stop you."
[2013-12-07 20:34:33] * Militus shrugs. "If you wish to be spared, so you shall be. Until you actually see said, games, of course."
[2013-12-07 20:34:41] * Clue 's ears perk up when Emerald_Blitz mentions hide-and-seek. "Some ponies still play hide-and-seek..." Her head swivels to glance over at the steeled ponies. "...oh my..." She lowers herself to the floor a bit.
[2013-12-07 20:35:27] <Asami> I couldn't go home right now if I wanted to...and I kinda do....I have no clue how to get there....sigh...no Clue...no fighting...all I want to do right now is make a dent in the wall with my head
[2013-12-07 20:36:34] * Emerald_Blitz flattens her ears. "I swear, Militus. You couldn't be less tactful if you tried." She pauses. "Unless you were Tallie, but I digress. I know this world is different than what I've know, as night is from day. Just give me more than three days to become accustomed to it without preaching my ears off." She grumbles and gets up off the couch, walking to meet the armored Rangers.
[2013-12-07 20:37:22] * Militus sighs and trails behind to meet the Rangers as well.
[2013-12-07 20:38:05] * Tallie gives Asami a playful punch on the shoulder. "Then I guess you gotta toughen up, buddy." She says. "No going back, y'know?"
[2013-12-07 20:38:27] * Tallie looks over in Emerald_Blitz's direction. "Someone say my name?" she asks as she scampers after them.
[2013-12-07 20:39:31] <CrystalDM> 03The ranger on the left looks toward Feather Fall, even as Feather Fall hangs up the phone. "Scribe Feather Fall, you are relieved from this post." Feather Fall smiles and nods. "Yes, of course. Everyone, come with me and I'll show you-" The ranger on the right interrupts. "No. You won't. This group is to be detained, outside, until such a time as they are ruled not a part of this attack."...
[2013-12-07 20:39:31] <CrystalDM> ...Their voices identify the ranger on the left as a stallion, and the one on the right a mare.

[2013-12-07 20:40:40] <Clue> A wave of confusing flows over Clue's face. "But... umm... we were in here... with no guns... then shooting them..."
[2013-12-07 20:40:53] * Tallie looks over her shoulder at Asami. "Gotta push through it! That's all I can say!"

[2013-12-07 20:41:14] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall's eyes widen. "No, you can't do that! What if their are more out there! They are our guests!" The mare raises her voice, but the stallion raises his. "You are excused, Scribe!"
[2013-12-07 20:41:59] * Asami double takes at the Rangers and scowls "part of this attack? are you nukken futz! we just got done butchering a crapton of them that forced their way through you idiots with your machine death cannons!  "you have alot of nerve saying that!
[2013-12-07 20:42:07] <Clue> "Please don't yell at her" Clue says almost instinctually, before she crouches even lower to the floor.
[2013-12-07 20:42:48] * Emerald_Blitz nods to the armored mare. "An understandable precaution, madam, but your scribes can both vouch that we were hardly on the side of the invaders," she says, standing very close to the nervous Clue. "And, given that some got down here despite your best efforts, you can understand our trepidation at being exposed in the open..." She looks over to Asami and smiles a very fake and very obvious...
[2013-12-07 20:42:49] * Tallie frowns. "If we were part of the attck, that'd make us raiders. Are we frothing at the mouth? Murdering innocents? Naw.""
[2013-12-07 20:42:49] * Emerald_Blitz ...smile. "If you were wanting," she says through gritted teeth, "to show what you're good at. Now would be a good time. To be diplomatic, not hostile."
[2013-12-07 20:43:52] <CrystalDM> 03The mare looks over at the group. "Yes, this is true. You fought with our scribes to prevent their, and your, deaths. For that, we thank you. However, we must still do our duty and make sure you are not a threat to those we protect."
[2013-12-07 20:44:49] <Tallie> "That's bonkers, yo."
[2013-12-07 20:45:29] * Tallie pulls out a wrench and screwdriver. "What can I do to you? Dismantle your armour?"
[2013-12-07 20:45:46] <Militus> "Understandable. Tallie, shut up."
[2013-12-07 20:46:03] <Emerald_Blitz> "If the area is secure now, it shouldn't be a problem," Emerald says. The alicorn folds her wings and looks at Tallie. "None of that. The Rangers are just defending their own. Now, if you would kindly lead the way," she says, addressing the armored stallion.
[2013-12-07 20:46:41] * Tallie twirls her tools and puts them back, then looks at Militus. "You're not my mum. You can't tell me what to do." she grumbles.
[2013-12-07 20:46:48] <Clue> "C-can Feather Fall join us?..." Clue starts to make circles in the floor with her hoof.
[2013-12-07 20:47:04] * Asami points at the Rangers as she looks at Emerald "Those are Rangers Captain...they aint gonna listen to me even if my name was 'Reason' " Asami turns back to the Rangers  and continues "Hey you, Ranger whatsyournameandrank?  I'd like to point out that if you force us outside...and we are attacked again...you are violating your treaty with Crystal Crossing...you are protectors...you are supplied...

[2013-12-07 20:48:16] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall stomps her hoof and shakes her head. "No! I'm staying out here if you are going to keep them out here!" The poor mare is close to losing her cool, and the stallion isn't helping things by saying "If you won't follow orders, you will be thrown in the stocks, Scribe!"
[2013-12-07 20:49:22] * Militus glares at Tallie. "Now is not the time to start making things worse," he hisses.
[2013-12-07 20:49:59] <Emerald_Blitz> "Scribe," Emerald says coldly, looking at Feather Fall. "You will do as you are told, understand? My friends are under my protection, not yours, and if you continue to be insubordinate, you will get yourself into trouble you can't charm your way out of," she says. "Now, the way to our... temporary accomodations?" she says firmly.
[2013-12-07 20:50:13] <Clue> "Don't talk to her like that" Clue snaps up straight looking in the general direction of the stallion.
[2013-12-07 20:50:24] * Tallie sits down and grumps.
[2013-12-07 20:50:53] <CrystalDM> 03The medical ponies continue to go about their work as the mare nods to Asami. "This is true... one moment." The mare goes silent and starts to nod, one armored ear swiveling to the north-east.
[2013-12-07 20:51:18] * Emerald_Blitz kicks Clue in the shin, very gently for her size. "Let the Rangers deal with their own discipline, Clue, and please stop trying to get us shot."
[2013-12-07 20:53:42] <Asami> Mmm-hmm...I thought so...it would really yaknow...suck if Crystal Crossing were to cease grain deliveries because of how its ambassadors were treated
[2013-12-07 20:53:50] * Clue shakes her head, and retakes in the ponies before her before reassuming her position close to the ground. Her ears droop again as she looks at Emerald_Blitz with a frown before giving a saddened nod.
[2013-12-07 20:54:57] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall takes a step back as she looks at Emerald_Blitz and the dressing down she was not expecting. "Uh... when you go through the door, go left. Third door on the left is a common room, and I'll wait for you guys there." The stallion nods to Emerald_Blitz even as Feather Fall walks between the rangers and heads left. "Thank you, Princess."
[2013-12-07 20:57:30] * Emerald_Blitz nods politely, secretly very, very glad that the mess hadn't escalated any further. She begins walking to the door, head held high. "I assume that means we have permission to keep Steel between us and more ravening, self-mutilating monstrosities?" she says, looking down at Asami in approval. A smile touches the corner of her mouth, just for a moment.
[2013-12-07 20:58:49] * Militus follows silently behind Emerald_Blitz.
[2013-12-07 21:00:40] * Clue holds her head low and follows behind slowly.

[2013-12-07 21:02:20] <CrystalDM> 03The mare nods once more, her ear swiveling back toward the group. "My apologies to you all. My superiors have reviewed what happened here. You are free to enter. Oh... and its Lieutenant Hash." The mare steps out of the doorway even as the stallion does.
[2013-12-07 21:04:30] * Asami whistles back that her companions who were departing, trying to get their attention "Hey folks!, we are now apart of the tribe!...heh, I finangled clearance for us to go in on schedual
[2013-12-07 21:05:31] * Emerald_Blitz hangs back to wait for Asami, and can't hide her smile any more. "See, you do have talents and purpose, little one," she says approvingly. "If you stop and think about it, you really do know your way around an argument. I'm impressed." With that she turns and walks through the door, headed for the common room they're supposed to wait in.
[2013-12-07 21:06:47] * Militus smiles and nods to Asami as well.

The wooden paneling of the walls looks to be an oak? Hanging on the walls are banners, all still legible. All have similar messages "Don't let your cutie mark decide your destiny" or "Remember: We are all here to save ponies from the worst!" or "We are making a better...

[2013-12-07 21:11:52] <CrystalDM> 03The common room looks like it might have been a classroom at some point, though now it is filled with faded couches and worn chairs. A large blackboard proclaims "Remember, Bingo night next Tuesday at 7!" In the middle of the room paces a Scribe Feather Fall.
[2013-12-07 21:12:02] * Tallie looks at the posters. "That reminds me. We're almost out of toilet paper."
[2013-12-07 21:12:45] * Tallie hops onto a chair with a mischeivous grin. She rubs out the little line in B to turn it into a D. Dingo night. mwahahah!
[2013-12-07 21:13:48] * Emerald_Blitz looks at the banners with a sad smile. "Finally something familiar," she says softly. She walks to one of the larger couches and drapes herself on it, waiting for the Scribe to finish whatever it is she's fretting about.
[2013-12-07 21:14:41] * Clue sheepishly enters the room. She quietly murmers a few things to herself. "umm... er..." A hoof is raised to her chin in thought. "Hello Feather. Were weren't held up..."
[2013-12-07 21:15:57] * Militus ponders the board for a moment. "What is a 'dingo night'? This is a piece of pony culture I'm not acquainted with."
[2013-12-07 21:16:37] * Tallie falls over giggling.
[2013-12-07 21:16:50] <CrystalDM> 03The mare jumps up as Tallie enters the room looking over at Emerald and the others as the enter. "You made it!" She passes a leg over an eye before smiling at the others... those who are perceptive will notice her eyes are quite red.
[2013-12-07 21:18:38] <Asami> Yupyup...so uhm...quite the...decor you have in here Feather?...what is this room if I may ask?
[2013-12-07 21:18:53] <CrystalDM> 03The mare looks over at Clue with a smile, but then at Militus, confused. "Um... Dingo night? What are you..." The mare looks over at the blackboard and giggles. "Oh." She uses her telekinesis to change the D back to a B.
[2013-12-07 21:19:09] * Tallie sneaks back over and goes to change it again.
[2013-12-07 21:19:51] * Militus suddenly has a look of comprehension. "Ah! Yes, 'bingo'. That is a pony game, correct?"
[2013-12-07 21:20:06] * Tallie rubs out the line again with a malicious giggle.
[2013-12-07 21:21:03] * Emerald_Blitz stands as Feather approaches. "Scribe Feather Fall," she says. "I apologize for my demeanor and comment earlier. I was merely trying to circumvent you saying anything for which disciplinary action would be taken against you, regardless of your good intentions."
[2013-12-07 21:22:16] * Clue smiles back at Feather Fall rubbing her left foreleg against the other. "Are you ok Feather?"
[2013-12-07 21:25:54] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall nods, turning to Militus. "Yes. Its quite fun." She nods to Asami. "This is a general purpose room. We meet here to play games, or just hang out. Also works as a good meeting place." She nods to Clue even as her horn glows and Tallie is placed into a shield bubble. "I'm alright, now that you all are inside."
[2013-12-07 21:26:45] * Militus smirks quietly at Tallie's predicament.
[2013-12-07 21:26:50] * Tallie tries to touch the board but touches the bubble. "Hey..." She hammers against it. "HEY! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!" she tries stabbing it with her screwdriver. "HEY!"
[2013-12-07 21:28:07] * Clue giggles at the now caged Tallie. "That's a neat spell you have. I hope we don't get you into trouble..."
[2013-12-07 21:28:09] * Asami flops down on one of the couches in here...smiling and Tallie with an ear to ear grin "its just TK Tallie...if you wanna get out of it just hold still and act bored...that always works with Dad and Good Ear

[2013-12-07 21:32:32] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall looks over at Emerald_Blitz and shakes her head. "No, no hard feelings. You were right... I was acting out of line." She shakes her head. "Even if you had just all saved Night Rose and my lives." The scribe looks down at Clue and grins. "Shield is very useful spell. Though, much more fond of Arcane Mark." Her horn glows again... though there is no obvious effect this time?
[2013-12-07 21:32:55] * Tallie is still trying to push her bubble.
[2013-12-07 21:35:37] <CrystalDM> 03Everyone but Clue and Militus notice glowing writing on Tallie's back. It says 'Kick Me'.
[2013-12-07 21:36:15] * Clue Clue tilts her head at first but then tries to look around for something Feather Fall has done. "I don't get it..."
[2013-12-07 21:36:50] * Asami snerks "Tallie is gonna kill you Feather Fall
[2013-12-07 21:37:12] * Emerald_Blitz covers her mouth with a hoof and stifles a chuckle. "That's not really necessary, Scribe Feather Fall," she says. "I assume there was something we needed to be here for, or someone we were to see?"
[2013-12-07 21:37:18] * Tallie growls and runs at the side of the bubble. *Thunk* "Ooooow."
[2013-12-07 21:39:24] <Militus> "You know, Tallie, you might have better luck getting out if you trying being nice." He turns to Feather Fall. "Oh, Miss Fall? If Tallie says she's sorry and promises to stop, she is likely lying. Believe her at your own risk."
[2013-12-07 21:39:52] * Tallie just sits there, flipping the bird with both hands and pumping her hands up and down, looking piiiiiiiiiiissed.
[2013-12-07 21:40:16] <CrystalDM> 03The mare smiles. "Yeah, I'm supposed to show you where you'll be sleeping tonight, and where you can get reimbursed for your ammo." The unicorn's horn glows again, and the writing fades from Tallie's back. The mare looks over at the board, rewriting the note Tallie crossed out. The crystal mare looks down at the diminutive griffiness. "So... do you want to keep playing?"
[2013-12-07 21:40:48] * Tallie thrashes around. "Lemmeout!"
[2013-12-07 21:41:49] * Emerald_Blitz frowns. "Yes, Feather, joke is over. No one likes being trapped," she says. "Business before tormenting the helpless."
[2013-12-07 21:43:15] * Tallie looks on her back and looks at Feather. "Fuck yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou!"
[2013-12-07 21:45:33] * Clue frowns at Tallie. "I'm starting to see why Ghost doesn't trust you... that's not nice... it's just a joke for messing with their stuff..."

[2013-12-07 21:46:18] <Emerald_Blitz> "Tallie," Emerald snaps. "Unless you want to sleep outside with the ravening monsters, mind your manners. Feather, let the griffon out. Now, if you please."

[2013-12-07 21:46:35] <CrystalDM> 03Feather shakes her head. "Sorry for the shield, Tallie." The shield dissipates into the ether with a flash of her horn.
[2013-12-07 21:46:45] * Tallie zips out and under a couch like a cat.
[2013-12-07 21:48:47] <Emerald_Blitz> "Better." Emerald rolls her eyes. "I swear, I have seen theatre productions with less drama than this group. Can we get our business done, please. I find the shouting and accusations tiresome."
[2013-12-07 21:49:12] * Tallie grrrrs from under the couch. She's the daughter of slavers. Not a good idea to trap her.
[2013-12-07 21:50:43] * CrystalDM looks down to the couch where Tallie is hiding. "Um... should we leave her like this? My shield spell doesn't usually have this reaction..." Feather looks at the group, biting her lower lip.
[2013-12-07 21:51:34] <Emerald_Blitz> "Do you typically trap children with a history of violence in it?" Emerald says coldly.

[2013-12-07 21:57:09] * Emerald_Blitz sighs. "Well, I'll arrange the funerals. I'll get a poet to read something with imagery," she says. "Or, you can come out from under there and stick with us while we get food and ammo."

That was a typical unicorn way of impolitely but effectively saying "don't touch that." Not trying to cage you. Now come on. Or don't. Your decision." She stands up and walks back to Clue. "Food. Yes please. And I believe you have a... dinner... to go to?" She winks at the unicorn mare.
[2013-12-07 22:01:59] <CrystalDM> 03Feather looks down at the ground from the couch. "I'm sorry Tallie... I didn't know." The mare's perfectly curled bangs hang over her head, hiding her eyes.
[2013-12-07 22:02:00] * Tallie slowly crawls out of under the couch, looking very grumpy and kind of sweaty from panicsweats.

[2013-12-07 22:03:04] * Emerald_Blitz crouches to offer Tallie easy access to her broad back and gestures for her to hop up. "And you and I are going to have a little talk later, if that's all right," she adds quietly. "I can't have my friends snapping like that and not know why. It's dangerous for everyone."
[2013-12-07 22:07:17] * Clue blushes and looks around to avoid people, a layer of dark turquoise crystal covers her horn as she casts a spell.
[2013-12-07 22:08:27] * Tallie crlambers up Emerald_Blitz's leg and onto her back, hiding in her mane.
[2013-12-07 22:09:06] * Emerald_Blitz folds her wings to her back around the griffon in a feathery hug. "Now, on to our dinner and Clue's date. Shall we?" She smiles at Feather Fall.

I can direct you to a Scribe of the Sword, they'll be able to help you out." The mare looks over at the group. "I need to get this news to Elder Roast at once. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Make sure you and especially Militus wear these. Anyone who sees you will know you are from Crystal Crossing and won't try to harass you." The badges have a simple chain threaded through them, and look like they can be worn...

[2013-12-07 23:31:33] * Militus is waiting at the door to the sparring room when Emerald_Blitz arrives. "After you, Captain," he gestures to the door with a forehoof.

[2013-12-07 23:59:47] * Clue sighs, drooping her ears. "...oh... uh... okay... I guess... I'll just...", Clue leaves that last sentence open ended shutting her mouth to say nothing more, taking a seat on the floor.

"My last memory before I woke up in your town's hospital was rushing in to the wreckage of a cowardly sneak attack on the workplace of my favorite mare in the whole world. I had never hated the zebra before that day. I even insisted on patching up a few after battles. It was the way of the Ministry of Peace." She grinds her teeth as she paces past a rack of practice swords....
[2013-12-08 00:00:14] * Emerald_Blitz ..."But that day... when everything I cared about burned, I hated every last member of the zebra race. And then. THEN!" She stomps her hoof on the practice mats. "Then it's two hundred years later! And there's not a single living person I can blame for taking my home away from me!" Emerald sits down abruptly, breathing heavily. [2013-12-08 00:01:26] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall shakes her head. "No! I'm just delivering a message, what Emerald showed us. That's all... I won't be gone long." The unicorn lifts a hoof to Clue's face, gently pointing it upward. "There isn't any reason to be sad."
[2013-12-08 00:02:12] * Militus stares on, dispassionately. "There may still be zebra for you to hate yet," he says, in a barely audible whisper.
[2013-12-08 00:02:35] * Clue nods slowly. "You promise you won't be gone long? Pinkie Promise?"
[2013-12-08 00:04:45] <CrystalDM> 03"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." The mare goes through the motions to, and then smiles. "Though... just so you don't miss me too much." The scribe leans forward, and gives Clue a kiss on the lips.
[2013-12-08 00:06:37] * Emerald_Blitz shakes her head. "I can't. I don't hate you for what you are, Militus. I just... sometimes I see your stripes, and I remember everything I've lost, and it hurts. Just as much as your losses hurt you, I'm sure." The alicorn stands back up and stretches her wings. "It will just take time for the hurt and anger to fade. So far, I think I'm doing fairly well for only three days..."
[2013-12-08 00:08:21] * Clue straightens her back not breaking herself from the kiss, slowly melting into it. It feels good. Her face glowing crimson.
[2013-12-08 00:08:48] * Militus looks like he's snapped out of a daydream. "Yes, quite. You're doing quite well for only three days." He smiles warmly. "Well, that was actually helpful. And we didn't even need the soundproofed room."
[2013-12-08 00:10:19] * Tallie gets out her lazer pointer and shines it on the Quartermaster's paper for a split second
[2013-12-08 00:10:43] <CrystalDM> 03Feather holds the kiss as well... though perhaps not for long as she'd like. From the end of the hallway comes a pair of coughs. "Mhm. I didn't know that our young scribe's new makeout spot had become right outside our door" the voice of an elderly mare says. "Oh, I don't know. They do seem to be enjoying themselves" responds an elderly stallion.
[2013-12-08 00:12:17] <CrystalDM> 03The quartermaster doesn't notice the laser, oddly enough, and continues on with his work. He is currently making tweaks to a pair of markspony carbines.
[2013-12-08 00:12:33] * Emerald_Blitz smiles sadly. "No, not at all. Again, as much as I'd like to be your friend, I really don't know you very well yet. Wasn't sure if you would be upset, or sad, or what have you." She nudges open the practice room door. "But please, if something comes up again, let us be honest with each other. It will avoid complications further on."
[2013-12-08 00:13:48] * Militus smiles again, though to a trained eye it might look just a little forced. "Yes. Honesty is the best policy, that is what you ponies say isn't it?"
[2013-12-08 00:14:23] * Clue 's eyes shoot open and she breaks from the kiss, her face beet red. "I!" Clue stumbles for words as she backpedals a litte, frantically looking around in the air for words to put together.
[2013-12-08 00:15:13] <Emerald_Blitz> "We ponies say a great number of things," Emerald says. "Often when it would be best to say nothing at all. But that is one of our truisms, yes." She looks back at the zebra. "Is... there something else? You seem... perturbed still."
[2013-12-08 00:16:10] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall jumps straight to attention as Clue backpedals. "Mane Scribe, Elder!" She salutes, defaulting to her training. "I'msorryformybehaviouritwon'thappenagain!" The last sentence comes out in a rush of words.
[2013-12-08 00:16:45] * Tallie shines it again for a second.
[2013-12-08 00:16:55] * Militus gives Emerald_Blitz an odd look. "Not here, I don't trust that the Rangers haven't bugged this place. When we are on the road again, perhaps I will tell you the /whole/ truth. But I do not trust these Rangers. Not that much."
[2013-12-08 00:18:11] * Clue continues to backpedal as verbal spaghetti flows out of her mouth. She moves behind one of the trophies in a small whimper, hoping to fade from existance right now.
[2013-12-08 00:18:32] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "As you wish, Militus," she says. "It is your business, and I won't pry. But if you wish to speak again, and I had a door, it would always be open." The alicorn sidles out, off to retrieve Tallie and go lie down for a bit.
[2013-12-08 00:19:24] * Militus sits for a moment, deep in thought. He sighs deeply and heads off to find the sleeping quarters he was allotted.

"Nope, don't think we can!" He is wearing a set of...

[2013-12-08 00:21:49] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall remains at stiff attention as the elderly earth ponies look at her. "How long you think she'll stay like that?" "Oh, probably a couple hours." The elderly mare looks over to the trophy case Clue attempted to hide behind. "Don't worry dear, we aren't mad at you. You can come out." Her tone is warm and gentle, and carries overtures of cookies and a warm glass of milk.
[2013-12-08 00:22:02] * Emerald_Blitz wanders back in to the vicinity of the Quartermaster, and looks around. "Tallie?" she says, trying to spot where the griffon has gotten off to.

[2013-12-08 00:30:00] * Emerald_Blitz shrugs. "Well, I think we shall leave them to it. I'm going to go curl up and find a book to read or something," she says. The alicorn heads for the sleeping quarters they've been assigned. "You still up to talk about... that incident?" she asks quietly.
[2013-12-08 00:32:00] * Clue blinks for a moment. Her thoughts have left her. "Umm... something about Stable 41?..."
[2013-12-08 00:32:49] * Tallie shakes her head, settling into mane. "No..." She peers out of the mane. "Can... can I stay with you tonight?"

Pan Sear looks over at Slow Roast, who seems to be admiring a distant wall. The mare sighs. "Alright, thank you for bringing it to our attention. I'll be sure it gets taken care of... you both are dismissed."
[2013-12-08 00:35:48] * Emerald_Blitz opens her mouth to say 'no' but abruptly realizes that Asami isn't the only child in the group. The alicorn takes a deep breath and lets it out. Pediatrics weren't her major area of study. "Yes," she says quietly. "As long as you don't intend to play sleepover games, and don't snore." She walks into the guest bunks and chooses the largest available bed, if there is one.
[2013-12-08 00:36:40] * Clue raises an eyebrow. "Just like that?", Clue asks quickly. "Oh.. okay" She looks over to Feather Fall.
[2013-12-08 00:36:58] <CrystalDM> 03There are several beds in the atrium, allowing one to sleep under the apple trees that grow their if they like.

[2013-12-08 00:39:57] * Emerald_Blitz chooses one nearest the tree, and sheds her saddlebags next to it and kicks them underneath. "Well, we'll get along fine then," she says, and climbs up onto the mattress. She curls up, leaving a space between her forelegs and chin for Tallie, if the griffon bothers climbing out of her mane.
[2013-12-08 00:40:51] * Tallie remains in the mane for now, but sneakily leave the mane during the night for secret snuggles.

[2013-12-08 00:42:12] * Emerald_Blitz gets out her copy of the Wasteland Survival Guide and begins reading it to help calm herself for a nap. At some point, they still have to visit the Elder, after all. She flips to the chapter on Wasteland groups, notably what has become of the Talon company over the years.
[2013-12-08 00:43:05] * Tallie totally reads over her shoulder.
[2013-12-08 00:43:48] <CrystalDM> 03The Survival Guide notes that the Talon Company remains a strong force for anyone with the caps to hire them. It also notes that their is an office for the Talon Company in West Village, with their roost hidden somewhere either near the Empire or inside it.
[2013-12-08 00:44:09] * Clue catches up to Feather Fall with a smile and a small nod. "Yes... dinner"
[2013-12-08 00:44:57] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall starts walking down the stairs. "So... would you like to eat in the mess hall, or somewhere more... private?"
[2013-12-08 00:46:44] <Emerald_Blitz> And so it goes for a while, as Emerald buffs up on important wasteland knowledge and just provides a comforting presence for Tallie. Eventually she begins to nod, puts the book down, and rests her head on the pillow.
