  1. Zurius, after scaling down his cliff felt tired as heck. He has still not recovered, he had used up too much blood. At his condition, he then realizes that it would be unwise to look for food outside now. And so, he decided to climb up again....
  2.
  3. Now Zurius totally did not feel like climbing right now, just scaling down has already drained him.... No problem, could just rest for a bit outside.
  4.
  5. Walking through the snow covered streets of Frostvale, a lot of people outside today.... Damn, he was already feeling drugged, perhaps his conditions was worse than he thought. Suddenly, the usual stuff he carries behind his back felt heavier than usual, must...sleep. He could not find a dark corner anywhere near to rest in.... Crap!, now people are starting to notice him. Ah yes over there, a bench.....
  6.
  7. He dragged himself towards the bench, no longer caring about the people around him. He was just too damn tired to care for now. 'What's the worse that could happen?' he hought to himself as he lied down in the bench, covering himself with bear pelt to ward off the cold winds.
  8. (Zurius)
  9.
  10. It had been weeks, months even, but Saifex was finally healed after his match with Seia; The aching in his chest was beginning to subside, leaving him stable enough to move around at will. He was gifted with his seventh set of Nivis Armor and was on his way out of the infirmary. A rather stoic expression held upon his visage leaving serpentine pupils switching over the active populace of Frostvale's afternoon.
  11.
  12. In time, his gaze settled aside from the marketplace, falling upon the Ryujin statue just a stone's throw away. Within the audience's rows of benches, sat a sole individual during his hour that caught his eye.
  13.
  14. Nothing interesting truly piqued his interest in terms of appearance, aside from the black cloak and hood he generally imagined to be suspicious. For reason in particular at all, aside from burning up time, he approached, finding a seat backwards upon to stare back at Zurius with a dull gint in his eye.
  15.
  16. "You there... In black... You're not sleeping in the wide-open now, are you?"
  17. (Saifex Tsuchi)
  18.
  19. In a sudden realization, Zurius thought that someone was calling him.
  20.
  21. He struggled to open his eyes. In front of him, a tall man, a drakanite, and..... Zurius then dragged himself into a sitting position, in front of him is a Nivis soldier. That very fact surprisingly did not affect Zurius at all, he does not even know it but his eyes are already starting to close.
  22.
  23. It was that one guy, the one they call Saifex if he recalls correctly. Even now he is still having troubles keeping his eyes open. '... I'm sorry sir.... I should g-g-go home...' He said to the man in front of him. Damn, he really should start looking after his health more, not that it matters to him anyways.
  24. (Zurius)
  25.
  26. "No, No, No..." He held his hand up as though to order his halt, "No need, citizen." He continued onward. "I beleive I've seen you once or twice, yes? Perhaps in the background, here and there. Though I've never seen much more than that." He stated with a weak nod, slowly riveting up from a solemn tone to a far friendlier sort.
  27.
  28. "I'm here to offer you something." He stated, fixing his posture to rest his arms upon his knees, lurching forward now.
  29. "I know not of your skills, your current occupation, or even name, however I am going to request that you, partake in the Nivis. We're always in need of more soldiers, and an occupation of the sort is truly an honor in our home village."
  30.
  31. "Not to mention, those whom are capable of healing fellow comrades can take a spot within the Vigoratus division, a rather sparsely populated sort in terms of magi." He stated, purely motivated to attempt this, thanks to what he overheard from Tami during his months of bedrest.
  32. (Saifex Tsuchi)
  33.
  34. '.....' Zurius was absolutely against joning the Nivis, or any other type of organized military in general. However, throughout the years, he has realized the war and fighting is necessary for such dark times.
  35.
  36. But no, Zurius still has his principles, he will not, unser any circumstances, join or let himself be drafted into a military organization. And so he simply replied, 'I'm sorry sir, you must be mistaken. I am but a lowly peasant with no particular skills that could possibly interest the Nivis.... I would just probably be a burden to you people...'
  37.
  38. Damn seriously?!. He could not believe himself, now he's just being awful. But quite frankly, he himself believes it. Right now, he does not know what to say. He just simply stared at the man.... he must probably think of me as a scum, a lowlife scoundrel, which Zurius himself agrees too.
  39.
  40. 'Sir.... I'm sorry, but.... I cannot join the Nivis....' As of now, he has to choose his words very carefully.
  41. (Zurius)
  42.
  43. "A pity, the Vigoratus could use more recruits. A person whom would be proven a hero amongst those wounded on the battlefield. Though, if you are truly certain that you have nothing that you could possibly offer our people, than I suppose I'll be on my way." He stated, rising up to his feet to trail off casually. He slipped his hands into pockets, allowing his verdant cape to flutter in the weak breeze exercising the golden embroidery to nigh exaggeration in terms of visuals.
  44.
  45. "If you should ever change your mind, or realize potential in joining the military, simply find me." He went on, "The name's Saifex Tsuchi, assuming you didn't learn of such before." He gave halt to turn back towards Zurius, "...And if you're truly incapable of ever ascending to worthy stature, the Nivis will ensure your growth in skill, and capability. Keep it at thought."
  46.
  47. With that, he went to his guard duty, standing blatantly in the midst of a cobblestone street, erect in his Nivis armor, with eyes trailing amongst the numbers about.
  48. (Saifex Tsuchi)
  49.
  50. Damn.... now Zurius is stuck in a pinch here. Right here is a perfect opportunity for him to use his skills for good, just as Andariel said. And now, he is simply dismissing it just like he always does.
  51.
  52. Saifex is now walking away... Then a thought came to mind. He 'could' pratice his new spell on some real humans this time.... No, that would just be immoral.
  53.
  54. Zurius himself is confused right now. Despite his hate for all soldiers in general, he could not help but compare himself to them. He was, after all "following orders", from a dream no less!.
  55.
  56. 'Wait!....' Aw crap, what is he doing?. He ran up to Saifex, now panting heavily despite him only being a few meters away. 'Where do i sign up?'.
  57.
  58. And so Zurius thought to himself 'Screw it, what the hell, might as well sink furhter down anyways.'. And then he smiles.
  59. (Zurius)
  60.
  61. "Where to sign up? Well, if you follow me, I can get your recruitment papers signed up, but I can't officially... 'Recruit' you. That's where a Jain, Adain, or the Queen herself comes in... Perhaps I can get you in via speaking to the Queen for now, simply because I can't seem to find Ria or Ulfdyr, anywhere... In the future, when I'm Jain, however, such will no longer be of an issue."
  62.
  63. He beckoned Zurius to follow with the sway of his hand, and proceeded to pace southward... Moreoff, South-west, following the cobblestone road, until they'd make it to the Barracks.
  64.
  65. Prior to such, he'd take the short trek slow, giving a personal interview along the way, so that he could take practice at the whole ordeal, should he succeed in his goals thus far.
  66.
  67. "First, I'm going to ask of your name, civillian. Also, were you born here in Frostvale? Anything about you, that I, or others, should know?"
  68. (Saifex Tsuchi)
  69.
  70. 'My name is Zurius, I am a refugee from the islands east of here. I specialize in water magic, holy magic and... uh, blood magic apparently. I have no close relatives living with me here right now.... nor do i have a proper house....'
  71.
  72. That went way better than expected, at least he managed to start off right. And so begins his new life in the military eh?. He has now become one of them, but Zurius does not seek to stay here long. He is here simply because necessity calls, he thinks.
  73. (Zurius)
  74.
  75. Saifex lead the man into the Barracks where he eased on past the many passing and busied Nivismen until he came across the main desk of the building, currently unused. He'd imagine it was a seat to be taken up by an Adain or Jain whom would take it up as working quarters. Never before as he seen Ria nor Ulfdyr in the chair, and thus, he imagined it to be his someday.
  76.
  77. He felt glorified to sit upon it, even if he didn't have any permanent position in this seat; The two were there for only a single purpose, attempted recruitment.
  78. "Okay, Zurius." He started, "A refugee from the islands east of here? I assume outer Frostvale territories?" He asked with enough delay to allow an answer prior to pressing onward.
  79.
  80. "A water magi... Taking practice up in Blood Magic, and Holy Magic? You'll do fine for the Vigoratus division! Assuming you are using those for healing capabilities." He stated with eyes shooting up from the papers he had at the desk to sort through, to Zurius, locking eye contact for a few passing moments as though to decipher if such was accurate.
  81.
  82. "Anyways, you are a citizen of Frostvale, yes? Have you undergone registration? If not, are you in need of a Magi-Licence?"
  83. (Saifex Tsuchi)
  84. Zurius: uhhh no... not yet.
  85. Saifex Tsuchi: Ah, good. I'll sign you up.
  86. "Okay, I'm going to need your race.." He stated, taking up an ink pen and writing away at the registration papers, filling them out with impressive pace, depiciting elegant penmanship in the process.
  87. "And then, I'll start to restate what I have down here..." He started, "All of which penned in on Year eight-thirty-five." He finished.
  88.
  89. He slipped the packet to the side, to work another sort. This one was geared towards recruitment in general. Though, he still shifted through the former packet to slip a few registration papers into the new one.
  90.
  91. "I'm going to need our age as well, your desired division? Assuming you know the three." He placed the paper in particular down, and slid it over to Zarius for display.
  92. "And then we're done here..."
  93. (Saifex Tsuchi)
  94. Zurius: <*signs all the papers*>
  95. Zurius: .... ok... good.
  96. "Good!"
  97. He finished, putting the papers aside, and relinquishing a single pair of slips that contained both registration and recruitment information pertaining to Zurius.
  98. "Now, if you'd follow me, we'll get you recruited officially." He stated, circling the desk with a proud smile upon his face.
  99.
  100. "Though, it won't be any ordinary recruiter... It's the Queen herself. So show respect, and know your place." He spoke with mild inclination in his tone, proving that he was far from a taking up a joking matter on the topic.
  101. (Saifex Tsuchi)
