TWWHD - Why the new 100% route is faster

  1. The new 100% route implements many superswims in order to skip some slow sailing sections. In particular, 3 superswims that have never been used in any speedrun before are now in the route:
  2. - Rock Spire Superswim
  3. - Spectacle Island Superswim
  4. - Angular Isles Superswim
  5. In order to make use of these, the entire endgame has been rerouted.

  7. Savage Labyrinth is done pretty much right after the Wind Temple, which makes delaying the ghost ship to later in the run possible (because of the rupee route).

  9. Other timesaves:
  10. - Different rupee route in the beginning in order to have the Swift Sail before Nayru.
  11. - Islet of Steel and Northern Fairy Island cleared very early into the run, to make use of the savewarping flags more efficiently (skips having to sail to these islands and then away).
  12. - No more Early Ghost Ship Chart. We now have the hookshot for Diamond Steppe and can perform the faster Bomb Push Clip strat.
  13. - Superswimming to Mother & Child Isles and then savewarping in the water to respawn on an island that has a superswim. This skips having to sail to M&C and then sailing away. This is done twice in the run, and so saves around 1m30s by itself.
  14. - Bomb Isle later to make use of the hookshot.
  15. - Skipping a warp to Forest Haven.
  16. - Reading the mail before Hyrule 2 to skip reading one letter and denying 2 other letters (saves 20s).
