  1. Wolves in Wolf's Rain can assume the form of humans to fool them into seeing a perfectly normal person instead. Some things can see through this illusion, however; such as being heavily intoxicated or under the influence of substances.
  2. Despite this, wolves in the form of humans don't need to "shapeshift" into wolves to attack, and instead may throw a punch or kick like any other person would. The "range" of this attack is the same in both human and wolf forms, so if you dodge one you dodge the other. However, things such as deep gashes from claws or puncture wounds from fangs may still be present, and will be stated in the post what kind of injury the attack would bring if it lands for the sake of- since a wolf cannot throw a punch like a human would, they would use their own teeth and claws.
  3.
  4. However, wolves have superhuman athletic abilities, running with great speed and jumping heights and distances a normal human would find impossible to keep up with. This can, understandably, make combat tricky- as a normal human wouldn't expect wounds from a wolf after getting punched by some guy in a back alley or something.
  5.
  6. To put it simply, the human form retains the ability to perform feats identical to the "true" wolf form. However, they're not shapeshifters. Their bodies don't actually "change" like a werewolf does. Injuries done to the wolf can be seen on the human nut not always in the same place. At the end of the day the human form is a disguise with few benefits. Sure, she can open a door, read a book, et cetera. The human form has mass to it, but a lot of it stems from artists finding it easier to draw humans than wolves at the end of the day- so it will be treated as some strange variation of shapeshifting- but not all things can be done and it probably takes a great deal of focus.
  7.
  8. Numerous times if characters are knocked unconscious in these forms, they are shown as wolves- so it is not something that can "switched" and requires constant concentration and awareness, even if it's not a lot of it. This is what sets it apart from shapeshifting. This is why smut, if any, would be impossible and extremely awkward. At the end of the day, Blue is a wolf-dog hybrid. Not a human.
