  1. [03:11] Keen to accept his cousins request, Zeitan promptly offers to lead their little hike. It had been some time since the two had gone on a storm chase, at least that was what Zeitan had called them.
  2.
  3. The trip took a day, having left early in the morning they reached the peak shortly before dusk. Doing as he'd usually do, Zeitan prepared the camp as he'd always learned to do though now it had been supplemented by his magic.
  4.
  5. The Ice magi had created a sizeable igloo, though it was made of solid ice, no use of blocks. A perfect dome with a space for smoke to rise. His first tasks were always to set up camp, prepare the site and put on the kettle. He'd let Yvel focus on centering himself.
  6.
  7. About a half hour had passed and Zeitan emerged from the Igloo with his usual grin. Being out in this climate was perfect for him, no outward display of his emotional connection to magic.
  8.
  9. "Well, camp is set Yvel, looks like we showed up at a good time too." He'd say, pointing up at the blanket of heavy grey clouds that hung just below the peak. After all this new space he'd found was much higher than where they usually went.
  10.
  11.
  12. (Zeitan Endore)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [03:20] Yvel had left most of the work setting up camp to Zeitan, This place being his specialty after all, The top of the mountain a place Yvel felt he could finally come to understand what he had been lacking, And despite his better judgement he agreed to his cousins plan, He knew more or less what had to be done but perhaps he was afraid of the consequences it could cause? But there was no longer any time for that. Yvel would have to power through.
  16.
  17. Had he wanted to reach the peak of Lightning he had to learn how to conjure it at its highest level, And nothing less than natural lighting would succeed in his goals. Yvel meditated, on one of the snow covered stones that lied imbedded into the mountain side, Allowing for his mind to wander and feel the various currents of winds.
  18.
  19. He could smell it, Just over the horizon, A large storm that would ingulf the entirety of the mountain top Zeitan was correct there probably wouldn't have been any better of a time. Yet still Yvel hesitated, Perhaps it would be the pain he'd have to fight through or just his mentality of suffering such a traumatic past and always wanting to keep his full power locked away...
  20.
  21. "Yeah, I can feeling it coming, If I'm going to learn how to master the storms I have to be capable of recreating natural lightning...and the best way to know how strong something is...is to face it head on. Without holding back." Yvel would have to fight a storm. That was the only conclusion he could come to so he could move to the next tier of Lightning Mastery.
  22.
  23. "I'm ready.."He said as he began peeling off his Order Armor, Keeping nothing but his white coat on.
  24. (Yvel Endore)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. [03:34] "That's my boy!"
  27.
  28. He'd blurt out in a hearty laugh, mocking Yvels father as they always did. He could feel it too, the shift in the atmosphere as the clouds seemed to roll across the horizon. He'd slip back to his usual demeanor, slipping his hands into his pockets and grinning.
  29.
  30. "Yeah, should be an hour or so. I'll get the thunder rods ready, you get yourself in a comfortable position or do whatever it is you need to do."
  31.
  32. Promptly, he'd pull the tent pikes from their camping supplies, not exactly needing them to pitch a tent he would proceed to place each of them in a circle around his cousin, using his ice magic to raise them high into the air with pillars of ice. This design was based off of one of his old theories, hoping he'd be able to test it alongside his cousin he'd finally gotten the chance.
  33.
  34. "Alright.. Each of these pillars can be used as a focus that lightning will be naturally attracted to." He'd say, taking some time for Yvel to listen and understand.
  35.
  36. "My focus will be keeping them stable and regenerating the pillars. I'm sure you know what you can do with these, I just figured I would try and streamline the design"
  37.
  38. With that, Zeitan would sit down, folding his legs and entering a deep meditative state, his focus was upon each of the pillars around Yvel, waiting for him to make use of them.
  39. (Zeitan Endore)
  40. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  41.
  42. [03:50] "Thanks Zeitan, I'll do my best." He ignored the phrase his dad, used not really choosing to remember him despite the situation, It was true his dad had been a powerful Lightning Magi and was able to create storms purely based on his emotions. But Yvel had known for a while now that he'd want to surpass him, To become stronger than the strongest Lightning magi he knew.
  43.
  44. He'd watch as the towers of Ice would rise holding the Lightning Rods, Yvel made sure to attune his own lightning to their frequency, So whatever they absorbed would be shot back towards him. He sighed, trying to amp himself up for the inevitable storm that was drawing closer.
  45.
  46. The smell of burning ozone lingered in his nostrils, And slid down his throat. The air became still and the echoing of thunder grew louder as each second passed by, Yvel could feel the sweat beginning to rise from him as the cold climate made steam rise from his body. "Lightning is the purest of all energy sources...I must channel within myself and then expel it back out even stronger than the previous blast...It'll strike in faster than a second...and I'll have even less time to analyze its strength power and speed and recreate it with my own mana..."
  47.
  48. Had Yvel wanted to become a master of storms he would have to first defeat one. The storm came closer, There was no longer any time to waste. Yvel positioned himself looking towards his enemy, He gave the rolling clouds a face, And a name so he could better visualize it as a foe...The Stormgod, He'd heard so many stories about as a child. Ramuh.
  49.
  50. As the first bolt of lightning struck the pillar and burrowed it not he ice until it landed onto the rod, A burst of lightning would strike Yvel at his back, A cry of Agony slipped passed his lips as he nearly fell down from the immense power of the attack, but he caught himself, His feet slamming hard on the ice he stood back up and grunted through it.
  51.
  52. And just as he was about to reclaim his footing the second rod was struck, and Yvel would be blasted from his left side, His left arm being caught in the bolt holding it in place as he let out even more pained screams. Had his body not already been trained to resist the tremendous heat of lightning he would've perhaps been already burned to a crisp but he continued to persevere to continued to engage his foe as deeply as he could. "No...I will win...I will master this...is something I must do..." Weakness, Strength, Power. They all looked the same In Yvel's eyes, He knew that within his weakness there was power.
  53.
  54. The power to save life's, The power to grow strong and explore new places, He wanted to be someone that could be easily relied upon and with this new found ability he knew it was something he could turn into a reality. Occultists, Syndicate members...All of those who harbor evil in their hearts, They waited for no man to grow stronger. Yvel would have to become an Exorcist that could match their strength, No double it. SO he could not only defeat his foes, But save as many lives as possible.
  55.
  56. The third, and the fourth bolts struck Simultaneously leaving little room for preparedness. All four of Yvel's limbs were being chained down by roar of the Stormgod his foe his rival, And Yet Yvel's resolve only grew stronger, and stronger as he began the process of analyzing the storms features while in immeasureable pain and suffering.
  57. (Yvel Endore)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59. [03:58] Zeitan was locked in a state of deep concentration, his magical energies focused in the ice of each of the pillars he'd formed, each strike they took he'd feel the vibrations, rebuilding the ice as he kept it level to the rest of them. Everything else depended on his cousin.
  60.
  61. As the peak itself seems to shake from the sheer force of a battle between man and storm he would envelop himself in a thick dome of ice, using it as a way to extend his reach towards the pillars.
  62.
  63. "I know.. You can do this Yvel.."
  64.
  65. He'd say, feeling his cousins strain, the sheer emotional and volatile energy that flowed through the air. He held on as best as he could, for if he even let off a little bit it could cost Yvel his life.
  66. (Zeitan Endore)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. [04:13] The battle had just begun and Yvel was not on the winning end. His life on the edge, His body albeit resistant to lightning was reaching its maximum. He had no choice but to surpass his limits here and now or fail and be reduced to ashes. The nerves in his body began to go numb. The flesh around his arms and legs soon got singed as more heat was being spread across his body.
  70.
  71. But even as he did so his mind raced using the extra boost of lightning to fire off his synapses with his mana,He focused a current within his brain so he could analyze the structure and power of the storm through the lightning, Feeling every vibration in his core, Allowing himself to not only endure the pain but utilize it as a method to reconstruct his Lightning abilities. He warded his body internally to protect his organs, His heart and brain especially as they would be under the most stress during this trial.
  72.
  73. Each flickering bolt and crackling blast of wind sent more pain racing down his body, Clawing towards his spinal cord...Yvel had to resist it to bring forth the deepest well of power within himself to overcome the great Ramuh. If there was one thing Yvel had in abundance it was his tenacity his will to over come all obstacles and with all of his effort and the faith of his cousins Yvel began to fight back.
  74.
  75. His own lightning emerging from his body as he pushed through the immense pain, His mind now contemplating how to not only think and analyze at an inhuman speed but to recreate bolts of energy at an incredibly potent level as well. HIs mana would be converted, Using his pain as a road map he'd structure his spells allowing the trauma of the natural lightning to take shape within his mana circuits.
  76.
  77. Clouds would begin to from opposite of direction Yvel was facing, Thunderclouds that seemed to be forged out of Yvel's own mana, Pulling from a power deeper than just his own soul, The very flow of magic itself, Natural and pure. Unfettered by corruption yet still prone to it if misused, Yvel poured his intention forwards, And through multiple acts he created a thundercloud that began colliding within the natural one, Yvel spreading his mana clouds within the storm to especially possess control of it.
  78.
  79. Peace by peace, Cloud by Cloud. The intense war within the sky raged on, Unseen by any one beyond Zeitan and Yvel until...finally it came to a close. Yvel had taken full control of the storm directed it, moved it according to his will. His mana so much stronger and refined now he could feel the storm just as closely as he could feel his own mana. Almost as if they were one in the same.
  80.
  81. Yvel's body was ravaged however...His holy magic not healing the various wounds and burn marks he sustained although none life threatening they would be easily covered by his armor and White fur coat. Despite having awakened such a large pool of mana to control Yvel had not yet acclimated to it, His body grew limber and feel helplessly off the tower of Ice Zeitan had created for him.
  82.
  83. It would take some time for Yvel to fully comprehend his new abilities and use them to his advantage but now with this power awakened within him he felt it was merely the first few steps to his goal of becoming a stronger and more versatile magi.
  84. (Yvel Endore)
  85. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  86.
  87. [04:28] As the storm ended, so did Zeitans hold upon the pillars of ice. Each of the rods they'd used had been reduced to dust, blowing away into the winds as the Drakanite rushed to his cousins aid, helping him back into the igloo.
  88.
  89. Upon entering the frozen dome, Zeitan sealed off the entrance. After all there would be repercussions to the events that happened that night. The winds begin to howl as the elements fight back to regain their hold upon the storm.
  90.
  91. Helping Yvel onto his mat, Zeitan would pour them each a cup of tea, placing one in front of his cousin. He could tell the pain he was in, he'd been there many times. During his training or the same sabbaticals he'd take with his father.
  92.
  93. "Drink up and rest, we're going to be here a few days."
  94.
  95. He'd grin, sipping at his tea as he'd slowly begin to prepare a stew from jerky and dried vegetables. He'd sip his tea, keep silent as he too was tired, creating a shellof focus around the dome to protect it from the harsher winds around them. With his power to create the cold he was also able to keep it away.
  96.
  97. The Dome would slowly fill with the warmth and the sweet scent of tea as well as the slow delicious stew that eventually joined them. As he waited for the food to cook he'd begin reading his journal, confirming the few theories he'd made about his cousin as well as crossing a couple out.
  98. (Zeitan Endore)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [04:40] Yvel tried to sleep tried to fight off the pain he had endured, The tea was helping as best it could and when he was served food it reminded him of the camping trips they used to take as family Yvel Zeitan and both their fathers.
  102.
  103. "Its almost like a dream now, What's it been 13 years or more since they were around? I bet some of the younger ones don't even remember their faces..." Yvel said as he pulled himself up from the mat, His arms covered in cooled bandages Zeitan made to stop the burns from getting any worse.
  104.
  105. "funny enough when I was up there All I could think about was surpassing my dad, It was his face that I visualized the most...I want to beat him Zeitan...I want to become a greater magi than he ever was...He never deserved the right to leave us like he did..." Yvel exclaimed as they stayed huddled in the dome for sometime. A small bit of tears rolling down his cheek.
  106.
  107. Yvel's body still not yet strong enough to acclimate to the natural lightning mana he'd taken in just days ago he spent his time healing and conversing with Zeitan. Trying to recover what he'd lost and regain a new found power within himself.
  108.
  109. He clutched his hands still wrapped in the bandages. "I will surpass him, and this will be just the first step to many..." Yvel had many goals but if he were to have one for himself, Something he could do selfishly it would be to finally surpass his father, And take the mantle he once held. It was perhaps the only selfish thing Yvel ever asked for and the only one who would know his honest feelings was Zeitan.
