An FBI agent goes undercover in the California Highway Patrol as officer Frank "Ponch" Poncherello. Members of the CHP have been robbing cash delivery vehicles and his job is to uncover the perpetrators. At the CHP he is partnered with a 30-something rookie, Jon Baker. Baker is a former professional motorcycle rider with a list of ailments and personal problems who is lucky to be in the CHP. They are very different people and immediately clash.
Jon Baker (Shepard) and Frank Ponch Poncherello (Peña) have just joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles, but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten-up former pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside-job inside the CHP. The inexperienced rookie and the hardened pro are teamed together, but clash more than click, so kick-starting a real partnership is easier said than done. But with Baker's unique bike skills and Ponch's street savvy it might just work...if they don't drive each other crazy first.
Oh dear, CHIPS the movie, Does anyone remember the original series? I do..John and Ponch were not that bad BUT it they were not that good either, so I thought i would give Chips da movie a quick going over to see if it could raise a wee titter. So Never in my life have i come across such dire irresponsible trash as Chips da movie, one star do not pay to watch this, I wont go into deep analysis of why this movie doesn't work at all levels ...its not worth it if you do you have been warned and have only yourself to blame.
This film tells the story of a FBI agent, who is sent to Los Angeles to go undercover, in order to investigate a suspicious activity in the local police force. He is partnered with a very enthusiastic but rather eccentric new recruit.<br/><br/>I haven&#39;t watched the TV show before, so I can watch and enjoy the film as it currently stands. I think &quot;CHIPS&quot; is quite funny. Even though I mostly find toilet humour unrefined, in here it is really funny. The plot is fun and outrageous, and there are even car chase scenes which look decent. The scene where Michael Peña rides a motorcycle up the ramp really got laughing hard! I think &quot;CHIPS&quot; is an entertaining comedy that delivers laughs, and makes people turn their brain off for a while.
It’s a convoluted mess that zig-zags all over the map. On the plus side, there are enough jokes that connect to keep you along for the ride.
