In The City of Mudad L'nar

The volcanic city of Mudad L'nar claims a history longer than most kingdoms. It is one of the few mentioned civilizations in the Lands Beyond, if places outside the grace of his majesty can be considered civilized at all. Still, the city is considered a historic site, and is even considered a holy destination for several churches. On top of this, it boasts hot springs said to have regenerative powers, and so has been a place of tourism and commerce for many years now, such that the only road leading into the Lands Beyond finds its end at the base of the volcano, at which the city is built.

Recently however the volcano has begun to bubble up and smoke rises high into the sky above Mudad L'nar. And so you, a traveler who happened to find himself there on business (of maybe work, piety, or pleasure) band together with other volunteers to head into the deep reaches of the volcano and find out what is causing the sudden activity.
