Stress Test Anon Part 2

>You're just clocking out when a deep voice calls your name.
>The man who approaches you is almost comically rotund, with permanently rosy cheeks and ever present sweat dotting his brow.
>His name is Even Sinclair, head of Quality Assurance. A generally well liked fellow, though apparently he and your mentor absolutely despised one another.
>"What can I help you with, Mr. Sinclair?" You ask, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible so you can return to Lulu.
>"I heard about the business with Tobias" he rumbles in the closest thing the gargantuan man can come to a whisper "Awful stuff that, but it just so happened to remind me of something important!" he said, smiling a smile that immediately made you wary.
>"And that is, sir?" you ask warily.
>"Your annual bonus of course!" he cheers, placing a meaty hand on your shoulder "Not a single sick day this year, if my memory's right" he says more than asks, charging on before you can get a word in edgewise "So, I figured I'd give you a little extra for being such an exemplary employee, a new Maidbot!"
>He continues smiling and waves off your attempts to rebuff this insanely generous offer "Think nothing of it my boy, most of the Money for her's coming out of the ORD so it's really not something you can turn down anyways, think of it as their way of saying sorry for Tobias harassing you on top of me showing appreciation for your hard work!"
>You talk with him for a few more minutes, though it's more him talking at you and you nodding along, before he finally lets you leave.
>The entire car ride home has you wracking your brain over how you're going to explain this to Lulu, with her constant fear of being thrown out or replaced having only been quelled over the last year, you fear that this new Maidbot will send her into fits.
>When you pull up into your Driveway you see the wrapped package, only slightly taller than Lulu.
>Lulu greets you with a curtsy and a smile until she sees the package behind you, at which point she freezes.
>Her left eye begins to rapidly twitch and her expression twists in a way that stabs deep into your very soul.
>"A-a-am I be-be-being replaced, Sir?" she asks in a halting terrified voice "D-d-did I do something wrong?" she asks as she begins to shake "Please don't throw me away!" she pleads on the verge of hysteria.
>In a second you're hugging her close to you, assuring her that you'd never replace her and trying to explain to her that you didn't really have a choice in the matter.
>After what seems like an eternity she begins to calm down, her panic simulated gasps evening out until she realizes how long you've been hugging her and practically jumps out of your arms.
>Her sudden embarrassment is such a swift departure from her previous near despair that it almost gives you emotional whiplash, but you're glad you were able to dissuade her fears.
>"Should we activate the new Maidbot, Sir?" Lulu inquires with obvious trepidation, and after a moment you nod your head in the affirmative.
>With Lulu's help you easily bring in the burdensome package and befoer you know it you're already booting your new Maidbot up.
>She blinks curiously, almost as if wondering where she is before her eyes land on your face and a jubilant expression spreads across it and before you know it she's wrapped her arms around your neck in a hug.
>"I'm so happy to finally get to meet you Master!" The Maidbot cheers before stepping away to curtsy "My name is Sammy, and I'm so happy to... serve... you?" Sammy drifts off as she notices Lulu, who's looking a cross between furious and scandalized you'd never seen before.
>Sammy leans close to you and in a stage whisper asks "Master, are you aware there's an Outmode in your house?"
>"I am/Lulu is not an Outmode!" the two of you cry, Lulu sounding scandalized and you just barely resisting the urge to yell.
>You mindlessly twirl a pencil between your fingers as Sammy and Lulu politely converse, though Sammy is doing a majority of the talking while Lulu mostly listens.
>You'd been sitting here for the last half hour trying to divide up the housework among Lulu and Sammy and getting nowhere beyond deciding that you wanted Lulu to be the one to Tie your Tie before going to work.
>Letting out a groan and pinching the bridge of you nose you decide to just ask you Maidbots what they'd like to do.
>"So, what housework would the two of you like to be in charge of?" You ask, causing Sammy to stop talking mid sentence as the two Maidbots go back and forth from looking at each other to you.
>Finally after what seems like an eternity an uncertain Lulu speaks up.
>"I'd like to continue cooking for you, Sir" She says almost shyly
>"Then I'll take the sweeping and dusting!" Sammy chirps in her seemingly permanently chipper tone.
>"Which leaves Laundry" you say, and after a minute of thinking it over make a decision "Sammy will do the washing and drying, while Lulu will do the Folding and putting things away, that sound fair?" you ask your Maidbots
>The two seem happy with the arrangements, until a thoughtful look crossed Sammy's face.
>"Master, what about grocery shopping?" She asked with curious eyes, realizing I'd left it out Lulu gave me a confused glance as well.
>"Oh, I was just planning to alternate who I took with me" you say, and that seems to be enough to satisfy the Maidbots
>"Now that that's settled, what should we do?" Sammy asked as she placed a finger to her chin "Dinner is still a couple of hours away, so do you want to play a game? I have knowledge of around thirty games pre-programmed!"
>Looking at my watch I blink at the time "Actually, my favorite show will be on in just a few minutes, we can all watch it together"
>Lulu's eyes light up at the mention of watching TV with you and before you know it the three of you are sat in front of the TV.
 >The show is a noir deal, a classic series with a gritty detective and lots of mystery.
>Lulu absolutely loves it, especially after they introduced the Detective's wife, a slight woman who the Detective had saved from an abusive husband and in turn fallen madly in love with.
>You smile as the usual cold open of the Detective in his office plays, and find your eyes fluttering shut as the day's stresses roll off your back.
>"One day you're gonna end up just like me, kid" your Mentor's voice rings in your ears as your eyes snap open to a horrible sight.
>Agustus Flek, you mentor, sitting on his work stool, with a splatter of blood, bone and grey matter bloomed out behind him.
>Around his corpse are countless Nandroids, maidbots and other macnines, and every one of them is familiar.
>And then, with the sounds of struggling power sources they begin to come online.
>The screams are almost deafening, pounding into your ears and ripping at your very soul as they begin ambling and, in the case of those without legs, dragging themselves towards you.
>The first Nandroid to reach you no longer has a face pate, her previously neat twintail braids now frayed and burnt in a damaged voice she shreiks out a pleading cry, begging you to help her.
>You try to jerk away, only to find that one of the legless ones, with a chunk of her head missing and spurting out some kind of fluid, has grabbed onto your leg and refuses to let go, screaming that she hates you all the while.
>More and more of them swarm you, grabbing at you and pulling you in what feels like a million different directions.
>Lulu's face is suddenly there, both of her optics ripped out and a huge section of her face plate broken off.
>"Did you think you could save me?" she asks, her soft voice seeming to cut through the screams, before flames burst out of her optics as she drags your face close to hers.
>"DID YOU THINK SAVING ME WOULD SAVE YOU FROM WHAT YOU'VE DONE!?" She screams
>A Gunshot rings out. You scream.
>Lulu doesn't even blink as you jerk awake and suddenly start screaming in mortal terror already moving to your side to comfort you and draw you out of the terror you had just experienced, but Sammy jumps and lets out a terrified squeak at your unexpected waking nightmare.
>"What's going on!? Why is Master screaming!?" a panicking Sammy asks, completely unprepaired to deal with this alien situation.
>"He's having a waking nightmare, could you fetch some water and honey? he'll need it for his throat" Lulu explains, before returning to rubbing circles along your back to help you calm down.
>Sammy nods, quickly departing the room as your screaming begins to fade and morph into quiet sobs.
>Lulu leans in close, still ribbing circles into your back as she begins to hum a soft lullaby as your sobs turn into gasps as you return from the nightmare to reality, not resisting in the slightest as you hug her as if your very life depends on it.
>Sammy returns, a glass of honeyed water in her hands, which are shaking ever so slightly.
>It takes a minute, but eventually Lulu convinces you to let go of her and gently take sips of the water, the honey within soothing your raw throat.
>"Why was Master having such a horrible Nightmare?" Sammy asks after what feels like an eternity.
>"They didn't tell you his job in the file?" Lulu asks in confusion, looking at her fellow Maidbot.
>"It was all blacked out, and nobody wanted to tell me anything" Sammy replies, a pensive look on her face "D-Does Master do bad things?"
>Lulu blinked at the Question, and seemed unsure how to respond before finally simply saying "He's a Stress Tester"
>Sammy tilted her head curiously, unknowing what that meant.
>"H-He breaks things like us to see how to make sure newer models don't break" Lulu explains, cringing as a look of realization followed by terror spreads across Sammy's face.
>"He breaks things like us?" a thoroughly horrified Sammy asks, despite having just heard the answer.
>"It's his job, he has to do it or he'll be fired!" Lulu snaps with unexpected heat.
>"And look what it does to him, do you think he likes this!" Lulu chides as you shiver, still suffering aftershocks of fear despite now being mostly awake.
>Sammy looks between you and Lulu, and she finally seems to notice the crack in Lulu's faceplate.
>"Did he..." she asks, only to stop when Lulu gives her a full on Death Glare.
>"He saved me" She hisses "Now if you want to help instead of just standing there, please go get a blanket from Sir's room, it will help with the aftereffects of his nightmare"
>A second of awkward silence is shared before Sammy looks away and practically flees thee room, returning soon afterwards with a warm blanket that she helps to wrap around you.
>Lulu looks at the clock and notices the time, frowning slightly as she turns her attention back to Sammy
>"Can you prepare Dinner tonight, I'll need to make sure he doesn't fall back into his nightmare" Lulu asks in a tone that brokers no argument.
>"Of course" Sammy says, though the usual joviality in her tone is replaced with a slightly tense clip, "Should I make something special or?"
>"The usual, please" Lulu says, before beginning to softly sing to you.
>Sammy lingers for a second, looking at the two of you, before going to the kitchen.
