Drone - Kicks with force of a horse

As the creature sinks low, prepared to receive its meal, Haroun knows he is going to die. It spins and smashes the spade of its tail into the side of his face. He wishes he’d at least landed a punch. But no, it’s just chitin bashing one cheek, then the floor smacking the other.

His world rings as it clambers past him, but he wraps his arms around a leg, refusing to let go. It’s cold and smooth, and he dazedly searches for purchase on it. It jerks its leg free and kicks his abdomen with the force of a horse, shattering his hip.
