The steel cylinder housing the quantum computer system stood on the far side of the operations room, beyond a set of transparent pressure doors.

- Going low, Fisher reloaded his pistol and slipped into the smoke-choked room, activating his tri-goggles in thermographic mode. Everything changed into a heat-vision landscape of blocky shapes rendered in light blue or sea green – the consoles and computer panels arranged in tiers leading down to the pressure doors. Human figures made of hotter colors – oranges, yellows and reds –appeared in his line of sight, and he tracked them with the muzzle of the SC-IS. He saw only the panicked technicians, and no sign of Aslanov and the injured mercenary.
