  1. 19:38:17 Niralahi tells you, "Greetings. Thank you very
  2. much for your kind response to my origami message. I do
  3. assure you that my message was indeed intended for you.
  4. As you may perhaps have noticed about her by now, it
  5. takes a great deal to impress Misericorde, and it seemed
  6. that you had, with your insightfulness and fervor. For
  7. that alone, I would have been interested in making your
  8. acquaintance."
  9.
  10. 19:40:43 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  11. Niralahi Coldwater, "Ah. She does not seem the type to
  12. warm to just anyone, no. She is an interesting
  13. individual, and I am honoured to have the opportunity to
  14. get to know her, to whatever degree she permits. How
  15. long have you been married, if you do not mind my
  16. asking?"
  17.
  18. 19:51:05 Niralahi tells you, "Oh, goodness, quite a
  19. while now. I think it must be nigh unto 40 years by now,
  20. though it would not be fair to say we have been entirely
  21. constant companions when I have slumbered off and on for
  22. many years. I am very fortunate that she chooses to
  23. remain by my side despite my inconstancy."
  24.
  25. 19:54:44 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  26. Niralahi Coldwater, "That is quite a long-lasting
  27. relationship. Longer, in fact, than I have been alive.
  28. That is very pleasing to hear. I am most happy for you
  29. both. I do not know her well, but she does not seem the
  30. type to let go of someone simply because they do not
  31. wake often. I think that once she lets you in, so to
  32. speak, she does not easily let you out again."
  33.
  34. 20:02:05 Niralahi tells you, "I would certainly agree on
  35. that, and I am happy to know that you are well-prepared
  36. for that tendency of hers yourself, when she has taken a
  37. liking to you! I think she was delighted to meet someone
  38. with convictions as strong and deeply-held as her own,
  39. and perhaps without some of the...lightheartedness,
  40. shall we say, that one often finds in younger citizens."
  41.
  42. 20:04:39 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  43. Niralahi Coldwater, "She is the only one in the entire
  44. city, in truth, that has not been frightened off by my
  45. zeal. I am deeply appreciative of her, for that much. Ah.
  46. Yes. Lightheartedness is one way to put it. There is
  47. rather a overwhelming tendency to cling to Lady
  48. Raziela's teachings, and hers alone, would you not say?"
  49.
  50. 20:18:24 Niralahi tells you, "I admit that Misericorde's
  51. fervor and zeal also do exceed my own, and in fact, she
  52. did also describe you too as possibly being perhaps "a
  53. bit much", in all honesty, at least for me in all my
  54. unsophistication. So, I am not surprised that you both
  55. are two of a kind in that sense! On the other hand, I
  56. too first entered New Celest thinking that I would
  57. follow the teachings of Lady Raziela, only to find that
  58. the values of judgement, fairness, and truth resonated
  59. far more with me than gentleness and forgiveness for all,
  60. no matter what their paths or choices."
  61.
  62. 20:21:58 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  63. Niralahi Coldwater, "I do not think that you lack
  64. sophistication - Quite the opposite, in fact. It is that
  65. am an unsubtle creature, in many ways. I fear that she
  66. is accurate in her caution. I am ever trampling upon the
  67. feelings of those I meet, when I do not wish to. That is
  68. a very fair opinion to have. Would that the others had
  69. the Wisdom to not dole out love and forgiveness to all,
  70. no matter how vile or reprehensible their character."
  71.
  72. 20:29:01 Niralahi tells you, "Indeed, I have heard from
  73. Misericorde that you follow Lady Lantra, whom I
  74. initially imagined would possess values similar to
  75. Raziela's or even have been the model upon which Raziela
  76. may have emulated. And yet, it seems that She too,
  77. despite Her vocation as a healer, does not grant mercy
  78. or forgiveness as easily as She might apply the divine
  79. equivalent of a poultice or bind a wound."
  80.
  81. 20:34:24 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  82. Niralahi Coldwater, "She has been kind enough to permit
  83. me the honour of being in Her service, yes. That is,
  84. unfortunately, a very common perception of my Lady,
  85. though few make the effort to move past their initial
  86. assumption of Her nature. They see that She is a healer,
  87. and think that She must be soft and gentle and kind, and
  88. no more. I have seen the searing, cleansing light of Her
  89. anger, and it is a glorious, awesome fury, Niralahi. She
  90. is more complex and layered than any can truly
  91. understand, and I love Her for it. I encourage you to
  92. see Her out, and speak with Her yourself, when She has
  93. had time to recover from Her recent exploits."
  94.
  95. 20:41:16 Niralahi tells you, "You are very fortunate to
  96. have such a bond with your divine Patron, then,
  97. especially one with such a complex and multi-faceted
  98. nature! I would never have thought of Lady Lantra in
  99. anger, and yet I can easily imagine that it would be
  100. terrifying and memorable, especially when healers can
  101. know so much about physical and emotional weaknesses
  102. from tending their patients. I am not sure I would
  103. necessarily feel brave to seek Her out directly, as I
  104. hardly even feel equal to addressing Lady Carakhan, whom
  105. I -- as you may have guessed, I suppose, from my play --
  106. serve. It took me some time to even decide to send you a
  107. greeting, and you seem unlikely to lance me with divine
  108. energies for my impertinence."
  109.
  110. 20:44:32 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  111. Niralahi Coldwater, "I am more likely to do so than my
  112. Lady, in truth. So long as you speak respectfully to Her,
  113. you shall find yourself welcome in Her presence. I do
  114. not believe you would have any issue being courteous to
  115. Her, as that seems to be how you are naturally inclined.
  116. If you wish, you may have one of the Order present with
  117. you for support, or perhaps Misericorde. Princess
  118. Nabithia, or our recently acolyte, young Symone, are
  119. also wonderful to speak to about Her. I am more blessed
  120. than I can express to have any bond at all with Her, I
  121. am fully in agreement with you. Do you not speak with
  122. your Lady often at all?"
  123.
  124. 20:50:43 Niralahi tells you, "Unfortunately, I have not
  125. been fortunate to see Lady Carakhan very often at all.
  126. The sighting of Her the other month during all of the
  127. ruckus with the Pearl of Li-varili and the Thalassos...
  128. Thalassi?...was the first time in a decade or more for
  129. me. Nor do I think I would have your poise or
  130. Misericorde's when conversing with a goddess, as I just -
  131. know- I will freeze up and forget how to speak properly
  132. in the presence of one so divine. It must be a wonderful
  133. and grave responsibility to have an Elder Goddess
  134. confide in you as it seems Lady Lantra seems to. But I
  135. count myself fortunate in that the presence of Lady
  136. Carakhan is ever present for me in Her work, in the
  137. beauty of the waves and the vibrancy of the creatures
  138. and plants within it."
  139.
  140. 20:58:27 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  141. Niralahi Coldwater, "I admit to some confusion as to the
  142. proper nomenclature for multiple of a Thalassos.
  143. Thalassi does seem the natural choice, but one never
  144. knows. [A brief, genuine sense of amusement, directed at
  145. himself.] Poise? Ah. You would not say so if you saw my
  146. interactions with my Lady. I am a terribly awkward
  147. person with Her. It is a unique experience, to have an
  148. Elder Goddess in your presence, in ways that She may not
  149. be with others. You have a wonderful perspective on your
  150. Lady, and Her manifestation of beauty, in nature. She
  151. seems a very fine Lady indeed. Would you be happier as
  152. you are, with Them at a distance, or is it that you
  153. would like to speak with Them, but are too uncomfortable
  154. to do so?"
  155.
  156. 21:09:13 Niralahi tells you, "Oh, goodness. I can hardly
  157. blame you for feeling awkward in your Lady's presence if
  158. She does indeed count you as special even among Her own
  159. followers. That can be an unsettling sensation as a
  160. recipient, even in a mortal context, let alone in a
  161. divine! That you can answer when She speaks to you is
  162. poise enough, in my book. As for my Lady, you ask an
  163. excellent question, and I'm not sure I have an answer!
  164. Of course I do wish I had a closer relationship with Her,
  165. a more personal relationship, and yet I fear it would
  166. be overwhelming to have an Elder Goddess focused upon me.
  167. What does one say? What questions can one ask? I
  168. wouldn't know where to begin!"
  169.
  170. 21:13:46 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  171. Niralahi Coldwater, "Ah, no, no, my apologies! That is
  172. not what I intended to convey. I am not at all special
  173. in the Lady's regard, let alone in comparison to Her
  174. other followers. I am the least of Hers, in many ways.
  175. She is simply kind enough to overlook my shortcomings.
  176. Hm. I think that what you say is not truly what is
  177. important. That you sincerely wish to draw closer to Her
  178. is what matters most. I would advise that you pray to
  179. Her, and express to Her what you have just said to me.
  180. She will understand, I think, how daunting an Elder can
  181. be to mortals. Communicate to Her that you wish to be
  182. closer with Her, but are uncertain how to comport
  183. yourself in Her presence. Be honest, and open, and I
  184. think that all shall be well. It will be difficult, I
  185. know, but some of the most worthy endeavours are the
  186. hardest. I have faith in you, Niralahi."
  187.
  188. 21:22:23 Niralahi tells you, "Your advice is excellent
  189. and most likely exactly what I should do. I think it is
  190. particularly difficult to not view the Gods as someone
  191. that you must impress and never show weakness to, when
  192. in fact They would most certainly know better than to
  193. trust any mortal show of strength when They possess so
  194. much more power than us by default. Thank you. I'm
  195. sincerely happy that you have such faith in me already,
  196. when we have only just made each other's acquaintance,
  197. and oddly I cannot help but have faith in your own faith
  198. in me too."
  199.
  200. 21:25:45 Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to
  201. Niralahi Coldwater, "You are most welcome. I am pleased
  202. to pass on what scant Wisdom I have learned from my
  203. missteps, so that others my avoid them. She will know
  204. best how to guide you in interacting with Her, so long
  205. as you are open with Her. I have spoke with Her but once,
  206. and seen Her only a handful of time, but She strikes me
  207. as a Goddess that is kind to Hers. I wish you the very
  208. best in this endeavour. I look forward to hearing of
  209. your growing confidence in dealing with your Lady, and
  210. perhaps others, in time."
  211.
  212. 21:27:20 Niralahi tells you, "I look forward to it as
  213. well, I admit! For now, though, I must depart, if only
  214. to meditate upon your advice and plot out what to do
  215. next. Thank you for this very pleasant and stimulating
  216. conversation, Avaris, and I hope we may chat again
  217. sometime soon. I would love to hear more about your
  218. thoughts on my play and on the art of theatre in general,
  219. and on Misericorde and Falaine, and more on the
  220. personalities and Orders of Elder Goddesses, and so on."
  221. 21:27:45 Niralahi tells you, "But until then, I hope you
  222. shall be well and continue to walk in the Light."
