Sweet script- The car cuddle

The rain taps on the windshield in a steady rhythmn, matching the tempo of the song that was just barely humming through the speakers. I debated whether I should wake you up since we had finally arrived at the cabin we would spend our weekend together at. You had fallen asleep at least 100 miles ago, stretched along both the passenger and middle seats, with your head nuzzled into my lap. You had been saying things in your sleep, just incoherent mumblings. Your brow would furrow and you'd mutter something like "boxes don't belong in pianos", and then return to sleeping soundly. Completely adorable.

I stroked your hair softly, moving it away from your face to look down at your beautiful face, so peaceful and innocent... I smiled, touching my fingers to your cheek. You nuzzled, ever so slightly, into my palm, so affectionate- even in this state...

I turned off the car and grabbed a few blankets from the back seat, all the while being careful not to wake you. With you now bundled up, warm and safe beside me, I couldn't think of a better way to begin a vacation together. Besides, it seems such a silly thing to disturb such a deep slumber, I think I'll let you rest...
