Tsubaki and Anon pt. 9

>Another morning on the ass end of June.
>Weather forecast has said it's going to be a dry heat this week.
>Less worried about the morning and more the afternoon.
>Peek in on Tsubaki to see if she's awake.
>She's dead asleep hugging a pillow.
>Smile a bit at yet another cute moment.
>Get my shit together and slip out the door for work.
>Same old routine as I leave the apartment.
>Get to work, punch in and get ready for another day.
>Getting ready to set up some jobs when Eric stops me.
>"Hey Anon someone on the phone for you. Says her name is Tsubaki."
>Feel a wave of cold run down my back.
>"Shit."
>Grab the phone from Eric.
>"Hello?"
>"Anon why didn't you wake me up and head to work by yourself? Don't worry me like that."
>Shrink a bit at Tsubaki's light scolding.
>"Just didn't want to wake you up, you looked too comfy Tsu."
>"Just leave a note next time then, I had a panic attack hoping if you were ok."
>"Sorry Tsubaki, listen I gotta go I'll talk later."
>"Alright Anon, just be safe ok?"
>"I promise." I said sounding as reassuring as I could.
>"You know this girl Anon?" Eric asked as I handed back the phone.
>"Yeah..."
>Bite lip and decide to tell Eric the situation.
>"She's been kinda living with me for the last few months."
>The look on Eric's face is best described as incredulous.
>"I'm not lying, haven't you seen the girl I've been walking to work with at least once?"
>"I think so, the one with the big tail?"
>"Yeah that one."
>Eric's look switches into a sly smile as I answer him.
>"Damn Anon you're smooth if you already have your girlfriend living with you."
>"She's more of a friend that just had a bit of bad luck."
>Eric just laughs at my answer.
>"That's nice of you kid, so where'd you meet?"
>"Kinda found her...in an alley?" I said trying to not make it sound as weird as it was.
>"So you're fucking a homeless girl?"
>By this time I've hit the peak of being flustered and embarrassed.
>"Look, she's a good friend and she needed some help I don't see the problem."
>"You gonna at least tell your parents you're letting some homeless woman stay with you?"
>All I can muster is a shrug.
>"Not really, push comes to shove I'll just do it in a drive-by manner."
>"Well eventually you're going to have to introduce them to her."
>"Yeah yeah." I said with an exaggerated eye roll for emphasis.
>"I'm just telling you whats gonna happen guy."
>"I know."
>Outside the exchange that morning and Eric finding out about Tsubaki the rest of the day went as normal.
>Walk back home was as uneventful.
>About to head upstairs when I notice a box addressed to Tsubaki.
>Don't think much of it and just bring it upstairs with me.
>"Hey Tsubaki, I guess there's a package for you." I said stepping through the door to my apartment.
>Heard Tsubaki before I saw her rushing out of my room.
>"You didn't open it did you?"
>"Nah it ain't mine so I'm not gonna open it."
>Watch as Tsubaki snatched the box off the table and started inspecting it.
>One she realizes I wasn't lying she puts it under her arm.
>"Not gonna tell me what's in the box Tsu?"
>"I-it's a surprise Anon. I'll let you see it when it's ready."
>"Fair enough."
>Figure the situation is dealt with and start the rest of the evening with a trip to the bathroom.
>End up being wrong as stopped by Tsubaki.
>"Also Anon, why didn't you wake me up this morning?"
>"I told you already you looked peaceful so I let you sleep."
>"You don't know how worried I was, I asked if Lahlah saw you on her morning routine and she said no."
>Give Tsubaki a quick small reassuring squeeze.
>"If you're so upset I'll wake you up tomorrow alright?"
>"Please see that you do."
>Despite the polite reply her face is red.
>"Any other request you'd like me to fulfill?" I asked trying to tease her more.
>Watch as her face continues with that embarrassed look.
>"Y-yes actually tonight I need you to go over my current progress with the finances...If you have time that is."
>"It's a date."
>"I-I'm glad that's settled."
>Without another word Tsubaki scampered back into her room as quick as she left it.
>With all possible loose ends for the night tied up went to the bathroom finally.
