  2. <content name="Grandsome's Better Icons" id="ws_2824211283" author="Grandsome" version="167" date="2022-06-29" description="[b]Grandsome's Better Icons; Based on [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2007185841&amp;searchtext=icon]MoistDreams Variety and Rebalance Overhaul Icon Pack[/url].&#13;&#10;[/b]&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;[i]Recognizing any ship at a glance.[/i] (Yeah, I know sounds like corpo speak.)&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;Works [b]Both[/b] on Vanilla and VRO.&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;[b]Design Philosophy:&#13;&#10;[/b]&#13;&#10;Aesthetically, the default X4 icons are a step-down from X: Rebirth, yet they are far superior  when it comes to readability.&#13;&#10;I tried to follow the design language of the original icons, that means:&#13;&#10;[list]&#13;&#10;[*]Triangle means combat.&#13;&#10;[*]Square means civilian.&#13;&#10;[*]Circle neutral or unknown.&#13;&#10;[*]Size is denoted by the ranking bar under the main icon.&#13;&#10;[/list]&#13;&#10;Following that principle, I decided for the new and existing ship classes that:&#13;&#10;[list]&#13;&#10;[*]An inverted triangle on top of a base icon meant that the ship was of a heavier weapon class from its similarly sized siblings.&#13;&#10;[*]A circle added to a base icon would denote a lighter, or faster class of a given size.&#13;&#10;[*]Vertical lines were also added to make the icons more readable or distinct.&#13;&#10;[/list]&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;Support Vanilla and its DLCs but also the following mods:&#13;&#10;Vanilla Mod Supports:   &#13;&#10;[list]&#13;&#10;[*]XR ShipPack - [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2065619828]Steam[/url]&#13;&#10;[/list]&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;[b]Changes I made:[/b]&#13;&#10;   [b]General:[/b]&#13;&#10;   I increased all the icon sizes for better readability.&#13;&#10;   M-class icons were added now the default one stands for corvette only.&#13;&#10;   The other classes can be found in accompanying article.&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;   [b]Xenon:[/b]&#13;&#10;   All Xenon units have their own distinct icons, these icons are the regular icon but with an &quot;X&quot; pattern on    top of them.&#13;&#10;   Xenon K destroyer icon is now a new XL-Destroyer icon.&#13;&#10;   Xenon I icon is now a XL-Battleship icon, since the thing never behaved as a carrier.&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;[b]   Khaak:[/b]&#13;&#10;   All Khaak have their own distinct icon in the form of the regular icons but with a huge triangle subtracted at the centre. &#13;&#10;   The thin line contour display a scanline effect at some resolutions. It's a bug and a feature.&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;   [b]Commonwealth:[/b]&#13;&#10;   All light carriers now display the new L-Carrier icon.&#13;&#10;   All m-class ship that can dock s-class ship now display the M-Carrier icon&#13;&#10;   &#13;&#10;   [b]Terran:[/b] &#13;&#10;   Syn now displays the new XXL-Carrier icon.&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;The rest of the changes follow MoistDreams Variety and Rebalance Overhaul Icon Pack.
