- So let me paint the picture
- In 1989 I was 15 years old and unfortunately, I went to prison .
- During the time, of course I got an education I took trades. I educated myself with the college use my time wisely.
- But I also was introduced to dungeons and dragons
- I played for years until I was asked to become the DM.
- We played D&d, first edition ,second edition.
- I ran a campaign that we played every day for three hours a day for almost 10 years. They started at -2 levels. The magicians worked themselves up through Cantrips. The fighters were fighting street gangs, And the thieves were stealing chickens from the farmers. I’m still in contact with a bunch of them guys and we still talk about the campaign to this day the last adventure that I ran those characters on one was a module called” paladin in hell”. Needless to say, they had gained quite a bit of levels by then, and they earned every bit of it at one time the group had grown about eight people.
- It was a shitty time in my life , but we all went on an adventure
- I haven’t played in years , maybe 15 years now.
- So some young kids where trying to get into d&d and wanted to do the 1st & 2nd edition but couldn’t afford the books. I gave them a stack 3 ft high and you never saw such happy fellas . I only kept my pc book from my own days of playing. Thought I’d share .
- The graph was when we only had 6 side dice
- I know the names aren’t very imaginative, but Herc was my ver first pc and sloth was the funniest ( I played the hell out of that low intelligence 😋) and Krom 🤣 was my first in oriental adventures.
- Hope those kids have as much fun with those old books as I did as a pc and dm
- .
- Thanks
