  1. >You had been the only one of Applejack's friends available to hang out the night the bombs dropped.
  2. >Consequently, you were the only friend who survived, to the best of your knowledge.
  3. >The two of you, along with Granny Smith, Big Mac, and Apple Bloom had been imprisoned in this bunker for over a month.
  4. >The shelter was originally built for six.
  5. >Applejack stared at the empty bunk above yours often.
  6. >But the shelter's stock had dwindled down to sustain only four over the years.
  7. >Meager rations, cramped quarters, Granny Smith's failing health, a growing odor as personal hygiene became too resource-intensive, exhausted entertainment, and the inestimable psychological duress of not knowing if anyone else was even alive compounded daily.
  8. >So when Applejack began taking special interest in you, it was a welcome diversion.
  9. >It's not that the two of you hadn't spent time together during the last month; that was unavoidable.
  10. >But her interest became more detailed. Invasive.
  11. >She wanted to hear you talk about yourself constantly. Your interests, your hobbies, half-remembered school lessons and trivial playground encounters from your early years.
  12. >The minutiae of what your daily life was like before it happened. Your first love. What the boy's locker room was like.
  13. >In turn, she would share much with you. Fond memories of camping trips, everything she knew about farming, what kind of boots she liked to buy for hiking versus horseback riding.
  14. >The first time she had hard cider. The first time she started noticing boys. How she missed having her period. Not because she wanted to have it, but because of what it meant.
  15. >She didn't want to talk about your friends. You didn't either.
  16. >Apple Bloom didn't talk about Scootaloo or Sweetie Belle. Big Mac didn't mention anybody he knew on the Wondercolts team. Granny Smith, when she felt talkative, avoiding mentioning picky eaters in the lunch line by name.
  17. >Your conversations became more secretive with the intimacy as the two of you would whisper to each other in an adjoining room where the rest of her family wasn't present.
  18. >The two of you would even wake up in the dead of night to talk.
  19. >So should it really have been a surprise when she snuck into your bed tonight?
  20. >"Hey, sugarcube."
  21. >She's been calling you that a lot as of late.
  22. >Also, she was hugging you.
  23. "Hey, AJ. Mind giving me an explanation?"
  24. >"You don't like it?"
  25. "The others won't..."
  26. >"Forget what the others want. I'm at my wit's end here and I need a hug."
  27. >The touch of each other was something the you had been getting used to as of late.
  28. >You tried to keep it clean. Hugs only. She escalated with holding hands.
  29. >You think a step has been skipped between holding hands and sharing a bed, but you were not well-versed in the art of romance.
  30. >And that made you very, very nervous about what was going to happen.
  31. "Just a hug, right?"
  32. >AJ doesn't respond.
  33. >Anonymous, you must remain strong.
  34. >Big Mac will actually kill you if you do something to AJ.
  35. >Apple Bloom will help him.
  36. >They've been cold towards you as of late.
  37. "AJ, we can't."
  38. >"An' why the heck not?"
  39. "It's wrong."
  40. >"The whole world's wrong right now, sugarcube. I don't think you need to worry your silly head off 'bout whatever silly thoughts you're thinkin' right now."
  41. >Applejack's hand slides down the front of your shirt.
  42. >You grab her hand.
  43. "AJ."
  44. >"Sugarcube."
  45. "We need to wait."
  46. >"I can't wait anymore, sugarcube."
  47. "Applejack. We're trapped together. This is, like... I don't know, but wait until we're-"
  48. >It's right then Applejack reminds you of her strength. She pushes her right hand underneath you, trapping your left arm between her chest and your side.
  49. >Her right hand then grabs your right forearm, squeezing until you reflexively let go of her left hand.
  50. >"Sugarcube."
  51. >Her left hand that is palming your tent.
  52. >"You want it."
  53. >She lifts you off your back, bringing the two of you face-to-face.
  54. >"An' I want it."
  55. >She continues turning, and you're now on top of her.
  56. >"It's been a month since either of us had the privacy for takin' care of business by ourselves. We need it."
  57. >She leaves your boxers sticky and grabs your left hand's wrist, bringing it down beneath her skirt.
  58. >You gulp and she gasps when your fingers get wet.
  59. >"I need *you,* sugarcube. I need you."
  60. >She pulls with her hand and sucks you in. It's greedy. starving.
  61. >In the dark, you see her flushed face tearing up.
  62. >"I need you to help me forget."
  63. >Instinct takes over.
  64. >You suppress her by locking lips. Her nails scratch your thigh when she pulls down on your boxers. You don't care.
  65. >You force her head back into the mattress as you enter, grunting into her mouth as you try not to make any noise.
  66. >Two minutes later, the two of you are still kissing, digging into dirty sheets. You're completely drained.
  67. >She works herself with one hand while the other can't stop roaming your body.
  68. "Applejack, I-"
  69. >"Don't talk."
  70. "We need to clean-"
  71. >She sinks her fingers into your hair and pulls your mouth into tonguing range.
  72. >When she's robbed you of breath, she releases.
  73. >"Don't. Talk."
  74. >...
  75. >By morning, the two of you had finished with each other several times.
  76. >Applejack had taken the soiled fabrics to be cleaned with a warm smile and full blush before the others woke up.
  77. >And now the two of you couldn't stop blushing when your eyes met.
  78. >You glanced away, guilt and shame and love and other emotions you never knew about making it impossible to think.
  79. >Applejack, meanwhile, just cupped her face and looked at you the whole time.
  80. >Big Mac was giving you dirty looks the whole day.
  81. >Apple Bloom tried to engage Applejack, but was ignored.
  82. >When night fell, Granny Smith called you over.
  83. >She tells you where to find the condoms.
  84. >She talks over your embarrassed denials.
  85. >"I know you'll be good to her, Anonymous."
  86. >"So be responsible, too."
  87. >Big Mac didn't take the blessing well, but he accepted it.
  88. >Apple Bloom gagged, not wanting to think about her sister doing... that.
  89. >Applejack...
  90. >"We don't need those condoms, sugarcube."
  91. >"I wanna fill them two empty bunks."
  92. >Whatever condition the world above you is in, Applejack will be fine.
  93. >And so will you.
