While running for president in 2004, JF Kerry was often compared favorably to JFK. They had things in common.  JFK had his PT 109 experience, JFK had his Swift Boat experience. Both came from the Cape. JFK's father, Joe, was made rich by bootlegging during the Prohibition. And Christ could the Kennedys drink.  Likewise, JFK's forebears -- specifically, Francis Blackwell Forbes -- who made his fortune pushing opium during the Opium Wars. And JFK and JFK were Catholics, the opium of THEIR people.
