  1. I've been typing stuff but then started talking baseball and then 4 5 6 happened so this is probably hella disjointed but whatever. So in case you missed it, there was a question on Twitter about someone using an alt account to stream stuff, and then it kind of ended up turning into a big discussion about stream growth and whether or streaming a game other than the one you're "known" for is good for growth etc. First of all, not gonna name any names in any of this because there were quite a few people that got dragged into all of it because of how Twitter does conversations. Again, I'm sorry to everybody who had to read a conversation they didn't care to read show up constantly. I didn't think about how chiming in would affect all of you, my bad. :(

  3. But to get to the point of all this. I know plenty of people that use alt accounts, most of the times it's because they just want a more relaxed setting without a lot of the bells and whistles they have on their main channel. I've used one myself a couple times just to test things or just show somebody something quick. But the reason given earlier today was that if they don't stream the game they're most known for, they notice they don't get the same growth. While this is sensible, I don't see the benefit of streaming to an alt account for that reason. To me, in any situation where you're not streaming that game, you're not gonna see that growth. Streaming on an alt account won't suddenly get you growth on a main. Perhaps I'm oversimplifying things; there might be a piece of the puzzle that I'm not seeing, but that's just my feelings on it all. A bit later there were a few other reasons given that I totally agree with, so I have nothing against anybody using an alt. I just wanted to kind of understand that mindset. Growth has never been anything I've ever really focused on, nor have I given it a ton of thought... I just kind of stream video games when I wanna hang out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So half of me just wanted a better look into the mindset of the people that are really looking to grow a stream. So for those who do have bigger streams and/or want bigger streams, I'd love to hear your feedback on this thought process. There's a very high chance that I'm a dingus and don't understand.

  5. TL;DR: Sorry I dropped a bunch of pointless notifications on people. I am legitimately curious as to the thought process of people that really work to grow their streams as there are likely things I don't understand.
