# Watame Privacy Policy

Watame ("the bot") is a moderation bot operated by the moderation team of the Max0r Discord server ("we", "us"). It is used only in that server. This policy explains what data the bot collects, why, and how you can have it removed.

This policy is in addition to, and does not override, [Discord's Privacy Policy](https://discord.com/privacy) and the [Discord Developer Terms of Service](https://support-dev.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/8562894815383). Discord's terms take precedence if there is any conflict.

## What we collect

The bot stores only the following:

- **Role records** — your Discord user ID and the IDs of the roles you hold in the server, so your roles can be restored if you leave and rejoin.
- **Moderation records** — your Discord user ID, the type of action taken (e.g. warning, jail), a short reason written by a moderator, the moderator's user ID, and the date and time. This also includes free-text notes moderators may attach to a member's record.
- **Temporary sanction timers** — your Discord user ID and an expiry time for time-limited actions such as jail.

The bot also posts log messages to a moderator-only channel when a member joins or leaves a voice channel, and when a member rejoins the server and has roles restored. These logs are Discord messages stored on Discord, not in the bot's database.

## What we do not collect

- The bot does **not** store the content of your messages. Message text, images, and videos are scanned in memory for rule violations and are discarded immediately afterward. Only the outcome of a removal (as a moderation record, above) is kept.
- The bot does **not** collect your email address, IP address, presence/online status, or any data from outside Discord.
- The bot does **not** track you across other servers.

## Why we collect it

All data is used solely to moderate the server and restore roles. We do not use it for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose, and we do not sell it.

## How long we keep it

- **Warnings and other moderation records** are kept for as long as the bot operates. Your active warning level decays over time, but the record of past warnings remains.
- **Sanction timers** are deleted when the sanction ends.
- **Role records** are kept for as long as the bot operates, or until you request deletion.

## Where it is stored

Data is stored on a server operated by us, located in Italy, and encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the bot's developers and hosting maintainer.

## Who we share it with

No one. Moderation records are visible only to the server's moderation team inside Discord. We do not share data with third parties, except where required by law or by Discord.

## Deleting your data

You can request deletion of your **role records** by opening a ticket in the server. We will delete them within 30 days.

**Moderation records** (warnings, jails, moderator notes, and similar) are records of moderator actions, kept to maintain the safety and integrity of the server. They are visible only to the moderation team and are not deleted on request while the bot operates. If you believe a record is inaccurate, contact a moderator.

Note that server bans, timeouts, and roles are managed by Discord itself and are not affected by this, and that messages already posted to Discord channels (including log messages) are not removed.

## Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post a notice in the server.
