+Terran Downvale __ I'll explain everything! Since the middle of December 2015 I now start each post with the DATE (YYYY-MM-DD) and TIME (HHMM) in 24-hour format (and so 2300 is 11pm).

I round the time to the nearest 5 minutes (earlier in time).

After the time I write a few "relevant words" and anything "important" you may need to know about the post will go there.

The first paragraph is a "summary, overview, reminder" of the entire post itself. That way at a glance I can more easily remember what's in the post.

(There's no colon in the TIME because when I download the Google Plus data each POST is an HTML file and the filename is the first 50 characters of a post. Also, laziness.)

If you go to your profile and look over your old posts all you see are "posted 1 day ago; posted 1 week ago; posted 17 weeks ago". It's not very helpful.

Having the date and time at the start of each post is much better and gives a perspective of "when everything was".

After the initial summary paragraph I give a link to the post itself for two reasons:

1. When I am searching through my posts on my computer (via full-text search) I can click the link to load the post in a browser. (There is a "permalink" but it's always easier to click the longer link.)

2. Anyone who is using a phone device can only view the most recent couple of comments on a post and must sign in if they want to view more. *You may not have known that!*

It means "random people" from the Internet only see the most recent couple of comments (if that). However, if a person clicks the link I've given while using a phone they can view ALL of the comments.
