  1. I don't believe there's any direct in-universe source explicitly confirming the adaptive gear is made of protosteel. However, it was made by Artakha, a crafter known for working with the material, and there's a number of statements from series author Greg Farshtey to back up that it's protosteel.

  69. 3a. Axalara and Adaptive armor are both protosteel, so shouldn't the adaptive armor help the toa survive while in the Codrex because it's protosteel and it can Adapt?
