Andrew Yang is a self pro-claimed left accelerationist. As a primer you should understand that Left accelerationists see economic, technological, political, and sociological systems as fundamentally a part of the same “process” where the speed of technological development affects economic systems through the globalized systems of production which displace & enrich societal segments to varying degrees (third world production outsourcing, domestic loss of employment, consolidation of domestic wealth into an increasingly monolithic capital class) changing the landscape of sociological factors which in tern affect political conditions. Roughly speaking they’d argue techno-capital producing intelligence causes the human security system to become populist or nationalistic which in turn affect the behaviours of capital flows through populist power structures acting upon the economic system (trade relations, sanctions, hostility to foreign investment, outsourcing of production, ect..) which then affects the rhythm of technological changes. So the human security system attempts to hold back the progression of techno-capital which in turn changes the landscape of the factors of globalization, technological development, investment, ect… Left accelerationists want to arrest the process of techno-capital. Land would describe this as the human security system. Left accelerationists believe that the system is pre-disposed to collapse by the nature of acceleration acting on the various inter-connected systems. They believe that each system exists in a state of regular action-reaction where the speed of change is slow enough that the other parts of the system can adapt themselves and preserve their function without change occurring so dramatically that it becomes catastrophic causing the vector of futural change to wildly veer off course losing many other courses of futural possibility. Left accelerationists propose that we arrest this process by pre-emptively collapsing the system so that acceleration does not determine the vector of dysfunctional collapse on it’s own. They’d propose that there are more desirable human vectors for acceleration to pass through than others.
