Sphynx Chondri Backstory

The moment that Chondri was born, she was part of a small fishman pirate crew called the Sleeptooth Pirates. They were a tiny crew, with around only 12 members, but their main goal was just to survive in one of the Blues. Her parents were both members of the crew, and the whole crew was something like a family to her; they taught her how to fight with them, they would take her on hunts, comfort her when she was feeling down, and made her feel accepted in this strange world.

Eventually, however, the captain of the Sleeptooth Pirates, a female anglerfish fishman by the name of Sandy Horatio, abandoned the crew without a word. With her absence, the crew tried to continue on without anyone truly wanting to take over the captain's spot, but their fear and frustration grew more and more intense. The crew had always had to deal with humans, but when they still had their captain, they were able to survive without killing anyone.

Not anymore. They were purchasing supplies in a village, when the humans started to insult and attack them. If Sandy were there, then the crew might have been able to control themselves; instead, Chondri and the rest of the crew killed every single person they could find. When it was all over, and Chondri realized the horrible things she'd done, she tried to do *something* for these poor people they had slaughtered--and the crew would have none of it. Even her own parents had hated humans so much that upon seeing Chondri sympathize with them, they called her weak, and chased her off.

Even though she was a doctor, and could easily heal her physical scars, these mental wounds were too great. In her desperation, she pillaged through the contents of several homes in the village they'd practically destroyed, and found a devil fruit--something that would prove her strength. Upon eating it, she sprouted wings, and tried to fly back to her family.

All they saw was a freak, and they let her know exactly what they thought; she could not even swim, and now was less than a fishman--she might as well have been one of those horrible humans. With guns fired at her and insults hurled her way, she flew off as fast as she could.

These days, Chondri is looking into the pirate life as a possible way to fix her bleeding heart; she is horrified about the fact she is a fishman, terrified of other fishmen, and tries her best to be as appealing as possible so that she will be accepted--even to the point that she rips up her clothing, so that people will stare at her breasts, and hopefully forget about the freak that she is. Her aggressive nature as a fishman is something that has been getting worse with time, and through her own self-prescribed medicines, she has managed to hold the "beast" at bay. However, even if her aggressive maniacal side takes hold of her, that is not her focus; it's not her dream to be normal.

In the end, her only dream is to have a family.
