  1. New character training in Dual Universe
  2.
  3.
  4. --= PREREQUISITES =--
  5. Set up your account using a referral code. It will get you 1 million talent points and some goodies, including 2 S containers and a Container HUB, which are very useful to have at the start.
  6.
  7. Then set up 2FA, right now that will give you another million Talent point although that may change.
  8.
  9.
  10. --= Log in to the game =--
  11.
  12. When you enter the game, take your time going through the introduction. There is a lot of important and useful information there.
  13.
  14. One thing I would advise is to start adding talents to the training Queue as soon as possible, preferably right after you land. When training you get 90 points/minute on the queue, if you train nothing you get 60 points/minute in your point pool.
  15.
  16. DO NOT immediately start using all the talent points you got from the referral and/or the 2FA activation, only use those if you must activate a level right away. If you start training early on and by taking your time to go through the initial tutorial/FTUE you will already level up some talents by the time you need them. Use your points once you have a basic idea of what you want to do, and as you go. As you do not have the option to respec, take time deciding this.
  17.
  18. That said, a few general talents will be beneficial to train up to level 3 or so as they will give you more carry space/weight, move around faster, help you to gain more benefit from early mining as well as improve your flying skills.
  19.
  20.
  21. --= The starting talents =--
  22.
  23. Basic skills for generic Dual Universe starting character
  24. at 90 points/minute you train 129,600 points per day
  25.
  26. The skill system uses the standard 80-20-20-80 training meaning you train 80% (L1-L4) of a skill/talent in 20% of the time needed for the full skill, the last level will take 80% of the time.
  27.
  28. Base points start with 600 for level 1 and multiply by 5 for each next level. Each talent also has a multiplier, between x1 and x15 currently.
  29.
  30.
  31. General skills:
  32.
  33. Mining and Inventory:
  34.
  35. Architect:
  36. Without any trained talents, you have access to 10 cores. This will be plenty at the start so no need to buy these, just add L1-L3 to the Queue to add an extra 6 cores initially.
  37. "Core Unit Upgrades"(x5) to L2 for 6 extra constructs (a total of 16)
  38.
  39.
  40. Avatar:
  41. This will increase your avatar agility and speed. It will make for a better experience but again, I would suggest buying these as it will benefit you immediately, but it is perfectly fine to add to queue instead if you wish to save points.
  42. "Conditioning"(x1) to L4
  43. "Athletics"(x1) to L3
  44. "Cardio"(X2), “Vigor"(x2) and "Jetpack speed"(x3) to L2
  45.
  46.
  47. Terraformer:
  48. You can opt to buy these, but they are fine to train too
  49. "Operations Range"(x1) to L3
  50. Adds 60% range to any digging or terraforming actions
  51.
  52. "Terraforming Operations Speed"(x2) to L3
  53. Increases terraforming operations speed by 30%
  54.
  55. These can all be trained to L3:
  56. "Dig Tool optimization"(x4), "Flattem Tool optimization"(x2), "Smooth Tool optimization"(x2) and "Flattening Efficiency"(x3)
  57.
  58.
  59. Inventory Manager:
  60.
  61. I would buy these talent levels as they give you an instant improvement carrying stuff around and storing it.
  62.
  63. "Nanopack upgrades"(x1) to L4
  64. This will increase space in inventory by 800L
  65.
  66. "Container Proficiency"(x3) to L3
  67. This increases storage by 30%
  68.
  69. "Nanopack Optimization"(x6) to L3
  70. Reduced nanopack storage mass by 15%
  71. This is important because, as the pilot, you get to bring 20T of nanopack mass onto a ship without impact on the ship total mass
  72.
  73. "Primary Container Augmentation"(x2) to L3
  74. Increases range on linked container to cover 1 tile/territory (1KM).
  75.
  76. "Nanocrafter Efficiency"(x1) L4
  77. "Advanced Nanocrafter Efficiency"(x2) L3
  78. Reduces crafting times in Nanocrafter by 55%
  79.
  80.
  81. --= General mining talents =--
  82.
  83. Surface harvesting:
  84. Buy these levels as they will be beneficial immediately:
  85.
  86. "Surface Harvesting Efficiency"(x1) to L4
  87. "Improved Surface Harvesting Efficiency"(x2) to L3
  88. These will reduce time to mine by 60%
  89. Add the remaining levels to the queue to reduce by an additional 20%
  90.
  91. "Surface Harvesting Optimization"(x3) to L4
  92. "Improved Surface Harvesting Optimization"(x4) to L3
  93. These will increase yield from mining rocks by 29%
  94. Add the remaining levels to the queue to increase by an additional 11%
  95.
  96.
  97. "Mining Unit Manager"
  98. Train everything to at least L3, higher if needed to unlock talents. As these will really only come into play only once you can make or will buy Large Mining Units and start setting up these, there is no need to buy the talents, put them in the queue.
  99.
  100. The exception are these two talents which will decrease the time to gain an extra charge, these should be bought as they will be effective as soon as you can put a MU down:
  101. "Calibration Charge Optimization"(x3) to L4
  102. "Improved Calibration Charge Optimization"(x4) to L3
  103. Reduces time to gain a charge by 111 minutes
  104.
  105.
  106. If you plan to do Asteroid Mining, put these in the Queue as it will be a while before you get to this point
  107.
  108. Miner
  109. Train Everything to at least L3, higher if needed to unlock talents
  110.
  111.
  112. --= General Crafting Talents =--
  113.
  114. From the "Crafting" Category:
  115. Train "xxx parts manufacturer":
  116. all "Basic xxx parts efficiency"(x2) to L3
  117. all "Uncommon xxx parts efficiency"(x3) to L3
  118. Reduces crafting times in nano pack (for basic parts) and industry by 30% for the relevant parts
  119.
  120. buy "Intermediary Part Productivity":
  121. "Basic Intermediary Part Productivity"(x2) to L4 to get 4 more parts per run in industry OR nanopack
  122. "Uncommon Intermediary Part Productivity"(x3) to L3 to get 3 more parts per run
  123.
  124. From the "Mining and Inventory" category:
  125. Train or buy "Inventory Manager"
  126. Nanocrafter Efficiency L4
  127. Advanced Nanocrafter Efficiency L3, add L4 to queue
  128. Reduces crafting time in nanocrafter by 55%
  129.
  130. It will be beneficial to have these early on as these will decrease crafting times. I'd suggest buying them, but you can choose to train them as well.
  131.
  132. From "Fuel Productivity"
  133. Train "Atmospheric Fuel Productivity"(x3) and "Space Fuel Productivity"(x5) to L3 to increase fuel output by 15% each
  134.
  135. From "Fuel Refining"
  136. Train "Fuel Efficiency"(x1) to L4 to reduce refining time by 40%
  137. Train "Fuel Refinery"(x1) to L4, "Atmospheric Fuel Refinery"(x2) to L3 and "Space Fuel Refinery"(x3) to L3
  138. This reduces input material requirement by 15%
  139.
  140.
  141. --== General Industrial Talents ==--
  142.
  143. Unlock using industry elements by training all "proficiency" talents in the industry category to level 1. This will unlock “basic” T1 industry units and allow you to craft basic and uncommon parts/elements.
  144.
  145.
  146. --= General Piloting Talents=--
  147.
  148. Buy atmo/space pilot and technician talents which are not locked behind other higher level talents to L2, add L3-4 to Queue
  149.
  150. --= =--
  151.
  152. By the time you get through these talents you would have a better idea how you want to play the game and you specialise from there. Do the tutorials as they give you some Quanta and more points to save up and use to start your training.
