Journal Entry # 1

I am not dead, I don’t think I am. The pain in my chest from the knife was so real… I thought it was over. That was the end of my short pathetic little life. Then she came… I don’t even know what to call her, God? I don’t know but whatever or whoever she was time seemed to stop my pain went away and she offered me a second chance.

To not die I would have accepted anything at that moment. I didn’t quite catch all of what she said but when she was done everything was different. I didn’t hurt anymore… I felt different bigger, stronger than before. The world around me seems to have changed too. There were tall buildings sort of run-down I’m in Gotham?!?

Fuck its cold here. When I woke up I realized quickly I needed to get to someplace warm.

I noticed that I had some stuff with me when I woke up here. I had a key and a credit card. I took the card to a motel seeing if they would give me a room despite my ratty worn clothes. Figuring I had nothing to lose I went and tried the card they were going to chase me out until I pulled out the card… long story short I’m rich! I will never go hungry again… I ate so much I actually made myself sick and then slept in a bed… It had been far too long since sleeping on a real bed. There was an incident with the cops I was a bit afraid but the card is mine. They proved it. Tomorrow I go Shopping I have so much to get… It will probably take a while to get a house but I can get clothes… oh and a car. That card said I was 18 here so I can get a car

Journal Entry # 2

Oh Shit! Oh Shit! I nearly killed someone today. I may have gotten a little too in to shopping and not paying attention to what was going on around me and suddenly there were guys with knives demanding everything I had. I was so terrified I was having flashbacks I was going to comply but one of them grabbed me and before I knew it I had flipped him on to his back and brought my heel down on his throat and broken his arm. His buddies immediately tried to attack me and well…I broke several of their bones and dented a dumpster with one of their heads (not a small dent either). I know the first guy was alive when I left but I was worried so I called an ambulance for them. After that I freaked out and ran.

I think I might be wanted by the cops maybe…Oh god I really hope I don’t run in to Batman I don’t want to be a super villain.


Journal Entry # 31

Well it’s been a month here. I am surprised how fast things have gone. I have a home now. A butler - Reginald to help me with stuff. I have been learning to drive my new car since I got pulled over for driving without a license…. So I should be getting that soon. Thanks to the help Reginald has given me.

I also got a horse today. I named her Twilight (sadly they don’t have that show here so no one gets the reference.) I had always wanted one. I am just starting to learn to ride her.


Journal Entry # 50

So these past few of months have been like a dream, a sometimes scary but exciting dream… I guess it’s only logical then the dream would end. So it turn out people expect to be paid and there are taxes and upkeeps and a hundred little things you don’t expect that pop up when you own stuff like utilities… and I may have spent like crazy because really I felt rich… So now most of my money is pretty well gone. How the hell did I blow threw almost $111 Million in a few months? I don’t think I’ll end up back on the streets but I don’t know what I am going to do. I could look for a job but I don’t know how to do anything so it would likely be asking “would you like fries with that”. Why is everything so expensive? This is totally unfair!

Journal Entry # 55

Holy shit ok so I suppose this is one of those things that put life in perspective. I was really down and sad about having to sell everything and downsizing to manageable life style with what I have left… I was at the bank morning to morn my lost funds when it was hit by a Bank robber. Crime is really bad here. Anyways I was just trying to blend with the crowd while it was going on but then batman burst in and things went crazy one of the guys grabbed me and just on instinct I flipped him and broke his arm.

I hope no one else noticed … I tried to blend hide I really don’t want to draw attention to myself.

Journal Entry # 56

So… I met Batman today. He scared the shit out of me one moment he wasn’t there the next I look over and there he was.

He noticed me at the bank and then looked in to my nonexistent background… I guess on paper my actions have been pretty weird.  So we talked… Damn is he scary. I know he is a good guy but he just is unnerving.

Anyways I told him the truth. I don’t know why maybe… maybe I needed to tell someone. If I had told anyone else I probably would have wound up at Arkham. He asked me a lot about the being that had given me my second chance. In fact most of his questions turned to that after a while. He seemed concerned. I don’t think I was able to ease his concerns.

He offered to take me in and train me. He pointed out my own experience with violent crimes in my other world. It’s totally crazy I’m not some sort of hero… So I don’t know why I said yes. I guess I can learn a few things from him at least. Hey maybe I can stop the next person who would wind up like I did.
