  1. An invitation, an offer of merriment and friendship. Seeing three large, stocky Buffalo suddenly march towards the western gate was quite a shock for many, but perhaps even odder was their reason for coming.
  2.
  3. All five sister tribes of the Nomadic Tribes of Buffalo were meeting around the Heritage Stones, large pillars where they recorded their history in pictures and writing, the one truly permanent feature of their civilization.
  4.
  5. There was promises of trade, games, sang and drink. It was rare for any outsiders to be invited to such a group oriented event, but word had traveled fast of not only a few people from Outer Hayven helping defend older relics of the area, but of also aiding Chief Break Necks son Defender of Honor against thieves, and even saving his life once. These deeds had shown the town in a good light, and so those of the human nature were invited, something Equestria had never heard happening in decades....
  6.
  7. The invitation given, the time set, the buffalo leave. Those interested, had a festival to get ready for...
  8.
  9.
  10. Upon arriving in the area, those who went would look upon a massive array of Tents, only getting bigger and more expensive looking the closer they got to the center, where massive chunks of stone, decorated with flowers, and carvings, would sit.
  11.
  12. The circular, slightly spiral shaped mass of Tents covered a good amount of space, an impressive feat, the songs and merriment floating up from the mass even far off at the edge where the tents were a bit less thick.
  13.
  14. Approaching the mass they would hear many a song and game being played even near the edge, and some giggles and sounds aswell perhaps letting them know what tents to avoid.
  15.
  16. Many a stand would also be around, selling everything from food to carpets, Dresses, Jewelry, and even a Stand selling ceremonial knives! One could only imagine what was going on further in, if it was like this just at the beginning!
  17.
  18. As the Hayvenites approached, they would also see some guard patrols here and there, large, burly buffalo in seemingly ceremonial armors of all types, from wood to steel, a as a group of four saw them, they shared a nod, two heading off towards the center, and two approaching the group.
  19.
  20. “evening, I assume you four are from Hayven?”
  21.
  22.
  23. Peyote offers a happy little wave as they buffalo approach the center of the buffalo tribe gathering, straightening his recently-washed poncho and bobbing his head "Yupyup! That'd be us! 'S good t' meet ya! I'm Peyote! 'S good t' meet ya!" he warks, offering a foreleg to shake.
  24.
  25. Gary had come along behind the others, having heard about the invitation last and decided to fly himself in to catch up with the others. He'd gone ahead and stood next to Daybreak, repeating the mistake of not realizing his colors had been changed and assuming she and the buffalo would know who he was at first glance, "Yep, here for the festival of yours!" The gryphon eagerly said, hoping for another thing to distract his mind.
  26.
  27. Stray Shot approaches the area with an awe-inspired expression seeing the injun market gathering. When he had heard the invitation was for former humans in particular, and ponies were not normally invited, Stray felt the urge to go check out this tribe that had interest in their humanity. It could never hurt to have too many factions on your side in a reality such as this, the pegasus thought.
  28.
  29. The camo-shirt wearing, slung-crossbow-bearing delivery pony trotted up behind the enthusiastic Griffon with them, letting Peyote do the first introduction. He was better at seeming more genuine about those types of things. Nevertheless, though, Stray had a wide smile on his face, obviously impressed by the event surrounding them. "Yes, sir. We're from Hayven," he says with his lopsided grin, holding the guard's gaze for a moment before Stray's eyes start darting around the tables of weapons and merchandise. "I've never seen anything like this! We 'preciate y'all invitin' us."
  30.
  31. Daybreak was excited to get to be able to come back, especially with talk of a festival for Rocks' name change. She tried not to display such emotions however, keeping her oh-so cool face and attitude with her. She had trouble deciding if she should bring her headdress or not. It was awfully bring and would probably make her stick out, but she also didn't want to dishonor them by not bringing it. So instead, she would keep it in a desperate bag around her incase she needed it. The mare also brought money along too hearing there possibility of wares to buy. She didn't mind the gryphon landing next to her, but his voice made her ear twitch. She salutes to the Buffalo, " Sure am! "
  32.
  33. "Yeah! It's an honor t' be invited t' somethin' like this!" He remarks, trying to stay focused on the conversation at hand... wasn't easy, though. Man did some of those trinkets and other things at the market area look good!
  34.
  35.
  36. The two share a look, and then smile to the group, one taking Peyotes claw, and giving him a single, firm shake that nearly throws him to the ground.
  37.
  38. “Splendid! We are glad to have honored guests here, though, it is a shame only you from previous visits could show up, Slayer of Giants. “one says to Day with a nod.
  39.
  40. They both slam the butt of their spears into the ground, giving a stern nod. “we are merely to inform you, that you have been invited to the inner circle of the festivities by Chief Break Necks and his son, Defender of Honor themselves, but please, do not feel you must rush to the center, enjoy the festivities on your way as you please.” they nod, and turn around, heading off to attend to other business.
  41.
  42.
  43. Gary looked in confusion at what the buffalo said, turning to Daybreak, "What do they mean by only you? I know they like you more, but come on that's just unfair!" He turned and huffed, starting to walk into the campsite, "Whatever, let's take some time to enjoy the place like they said, I wanna go see what Rocks has been up to and see if he's doing alright..."
  44.
  45. Peyote's definitely surprised by the strength of the shake, but manages to keep his composure through it, and keep his big, friendly grin. He looks around the mass of tents that makes up the festival and bobs his head in understanding, and gives them both a polite nod before responding with "Well, awesome! I'll make sure t' get a few eyefulls b'fore headed for th' inner circle. Uhhh... wait, what's this 'bout someone named Rocks? A friend 'a yours?" he asks curiously, looking back over to Gary "Wait... am I the odd one out? I've never been here."
  46.
  47.
  48. She nods to them, giving a trying-to-be-serious face. I thought Gary would have shown up for this too...maybe he had other things. she thought to herself. Then she looked to the gray and white griffon speaking to her for the first time, lifting an eyebrow. She watched him walk ahead with her head tilted. She knew that voice all too well, "....Wait..." the mare trotted forward after him, "....uh....Gary? "
  49.
  50.
  51. Stray blinks at Daybreak blankly as the buffalo calls her 'Slayer of Giants'. She definitely didn't strike Stray as a slayer of giants... He nods to the guards, smiling politely as they walk away. "Thanks! It'll be great to meet them," he says as they leave, before his eyes start to slowly scan the table with the ceremonial sword thingies. "I kinda wanna go pay my respects to the Chief and his son before I start havin' fun. With names like that, I think it'd be a good idea to go pay my respects right off the bat, heh..."
  52.
  53.
  54. "That ain't a bad idea, I guess. I figure goin' an' lookin around first'd be better, though."
  55.
  56. Gary suddenly stopped, looking at Day with a look of confusion, but after a second his eyes widened in realization and a hand went up to smack himself in the face, "Oh, right, right! Yeah, it's me, I'll tell you all about the color change later since it's not really a conversation for a place like this," He chuckled and shook his head at his own mess up. It would take a bit to get used to this new look. Turning his head to Peyote, Gary began to explain, "Yeah, Day, Homily, and I have all visited these guys before and helped them out with a few things. And Stray, remember they said we don't have to rush on over!" The gryphon said, turning to the orange pegasus.
  57.
  58. "Hm... Alright I guess. Just not sure what the proper protocol is with this stuff..." He says in reply to Gary, going up to the table of weapons and taking a closer look.
  59.
  60. "Well then... you an' Daybreak'r familiar with this. Got any suggestions on stuff t' look f'r? People t' meet? Food?" He hums a little bit, before bobbing his head "Right! Ya went on that Star thing with Ceres, huh? Judgin' from th' new colors, I guess ya passed! Congrats!" he offers excitedly, before getting back to the topic "So... what should we hit first?"
  61.
  62.
  63. Stray would be met by an older Buffalo, his fur once brown, now graying, a scar across his face and a horn missing.
  64. “Heh, welcome. Been while since a saw an outsider at this event, hah!”
  65. He waves a hooves at his wares. There were several ornate knives, a few tomahawks, many plain, others with patterns in the wood or even axe head, and a few sets of horn spikes of varying size and type.
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. "....H-huh? Star what? Ho-..." her head tilted from side to side in confusion over it. Did they have dye in town? He said he'll explain later, so she'll have to wait until then. She trotted along side the group. Stray looked to be interested in the weapons, and she almost followed him, but the girly girl in her cried out for the dresses and jewelry. " I'm just gonna....peek over here. "
  70.
  71. Day would come to a stand with no one manning the counter, but from behind the flap she should could hears some sounds, possibly if she knew anything about sewing she would know it to be such machinery.
  72.
  73. The stand had many dresses and jewelries, though the jewelry was mostly topazes. While pretty, the dresses, mostly, were too big for her, though stuff made for younger Buffalo seemed like they may fit.
  74.
  75. A sign read 'fitting upon request'.

  82.
  83.
  84. Stray Shot smiles politely at the older buffalo. "Well thanks for havin' us," Stray says, picking up one of the knives and inspecting it closely in the sunlight. "You folks got some fine craftsmanship, that's for sure..."
  85.
  86. Smirking as he watched Daybreak move off to the more girly things, Gary turned to Peyote, "Yeah, it wasn't the most fun thing, but I..." He looked away for a second and sighed but turned back, "I passed. But really, I don't know too much about these guys, we were kinda in and out. They're pretty much the Native Americans though a bit more sophisticated," Gary explained, moving himself off to go look for something of interest. He could barely hear the sound of clanging over the din of the area, trying to follow after it
  87.
  88.
  89. Peyote hums a little and looks between a few of the nearby stalls. The jewelry doesn't initially appealing, but... "M-Maybe Ceres'd like somma that." He decides to check out for punching gloves next, instead following after Daybreak to check out the jewelry! "H-Hey, Day! Mind helpin' me pick out somethin' nice?"
  90.
  91.
  92. The old Bufflo laughs a bit. “bah, ya humor me, tryin tah get me to lower my prices, huh?” he winks, and holds a hoof out to Stray. “names Tail Catcher.” he says with a smirk.
  93.
  94. Just as a hoof was hovering over a nice piece, her body jolted when she heard her name, yanking back her foreleg, " Who?! What?! Oh! P-peyo, whew it's just you. You said something for Ceres? Uhh..." she tried to think back to who that was, the tall zebra! Right. They helped expanded the town borders together with Whiskey and someone else. "...Maybe this necklace? It looks....tribal. * she snorted, " She'll probably look like a witch doctor with it. " Then her attention turned to the white dress.
  95.
  96. "S-Sorry t' startle ya! And, yeah, f-f'r Ceres." He looka around the selection, before locking on to her suggestion "Oh... oh! That necklace is great, Daybreak. Thanks f'r the suggestion!" he warks, before asking "How much?" To the vendor
  97.
  98. Gary was searching everywhere, trying to follow the clanging sound as best he could over the other ruckus, but he kept his eyes peeled for other things that might interest him.
  99.
  100.
  101. Gary notices a few stands here and there for food, another for jewelry, and one selling long wooden pipes and tobacco it looked like.
  102.
  103. Eventually he would turn a corner and find a semi-outdoor smithy, a large Buffalo hammering a helmet into shape currently.
  104.
  105.
  106. " What color were her eyes? Blue? Green? Maybe something that would match those. " she suggested, rooting around other trinkets and outfits.
  107.
  108. "Yellow! But, I'm terrible with colors..."
  109.
  110. Stray Shot chuckles and meets Tail Catcher's hoof with his own, smiling. "Nice t'meet you, Tail Catcher. I'm Stray Shot. If you ever need a delivery pony between here and our town, I'm your guy." He picks up one of the knives again, looking at it curiously. "Hm... How much does somethin' like this go for? What's the history of these things with your tribe?"
  111.
  112.
  113. Tail Chaser smirks. “Well, depends on tha quality of course, and sometimes history. While most Tribes dont really do it as much, used ta be a big thing where younguns would have a knife handed down ta them, then have to go out and bring back some predators hide.” he shrugged, pointing a hoof at his face. “it wasn't the best way to keep kids alive though, so at best, most just have two boys fight til first blood, and even thats pretty rare, but they still get passed down, a symbol of a fathers trust in his son, see?”
  114.
  115. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/f2/7c/ef/f27cef7d6be5364f0cfcab727330f37d.jpg
  116.
  117.
  118. She thinks for a moment, " Hey wait, didn't she host that sun festival? She's into that, right? Something to do with the sun and her eyes are yellow too..."
  119.
  120. Gary looked around at all the different shops, not being too interested in jewelry or smoking at all and perhaps later he'd get some food, maybe something sweet. When he finally found the smithy, Gary tentatively approached, not wanting to distract the giant of a buffalo from his work. Instead he decided to sit himself down nearby, waiting for the buffalo to finish.
  121.
  122. " Hey Peyo, what about this? You think she'll like this kinda thing? Goes with everything. What's her favorite color? "
  123. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/306083584559677441/338483679150080001/stock-photo-old-dead-pawn-native-american-sterling-hopi-and-navajo-cuff-bracelets-jewelry-display-65.jpg
  124.
  125. "I-I... shit, I dunno. I shoulda asked." he remarked nervously "That, or th' necklace?"
  126.
  127. She shrugged and grinned, " I unno, depends on the cost. Oi! " she leans her head over the counter to try and see if anyone was back there, " How much for these things? " then she spotted something else that caught her eye.
  128.
  129.
  130. The big smithy Buffalo looks up at Gary, looking him up and down, then sets down his hammer.
  131. “Killer of Dogs, customer!” he yells to the tent behind him, then gets back to his work.
  132.
  133. A slightly smaller, but still taller then Gary, female Buffalo of a lighter color comes out, a nasty scar across her side. Idly, she looks Gary up and down like a pieces of meat, then without warning goes over and starts taking his measurements around his chest, and stretches out a wing, measuring it aswell.
  134.
  135. After this, she nods. And pulls back “yer ah big one, but kinda underbuilt, need more protein. I can do a simply 55gb for a chest piece, more if you want it fancier or of a rarer material, 105 for the wingblades, causer yours are stupidly big.”
  136.
  137.
  138. "That's a hardcore rite-of-passage, heh. Reminds me of some of the rituals the native tribes of our world used to have," Stray says in thought as he hefts the blade in his hoof. "The trust thing... that's the nice thing about heirlooms. It's nice, that's for sure. Do you have anything in particular you think a travellin' courier like me would benefit from while out in these wilds?"
  139.
  140.
  141. Day hears some ruffling in the back, and then...a young little Buffalo lady peeks her head out, her hair frazzled, and it looked like the last time she slept was back when this stuff was in style...in Equestria.
  142.
  143. “hm, huh? Oh! A customer!” she walks out, nodding far more then she should. “im Weaver of Gold, pleased to meet ya! What you need cutie?” she asks Day
  144.
  145.
  146. Tail nods. “Aye, but it made tha tribe strong...but now? Were more civil, less need fer that I suppose....” he clears his throat. “well, cant ever say no to a tomahawk. Axe you can bash and throw? Classic. “ he chuckles. “though same time a knifes always handy, but not sure if you really need one, heh,” he points at the crossbow, “i reckon if you get close enough to need a knife, you consider it a mistake on your part, no?”
  147.
  148.
  149. The gryphon was completely taken aback when the large buffalo came out of the tent and immediately started taking his measurements. Gary was about to protest that he wasn't actually interested in buying anything because he already had armor and weapons, but that bit about wingblades caught his attention, the price tag only bothering him a little because at this point he was just hoarding money, "W-wingblades? Those are actually a thing? Don't they like, slice you up if you close your wings or weigh you down or something?" He asked curiously.
  150.
  151.
  152. Killer of Dogs rolls her eyes, giving him a hard poke to the chest. “only if yer a goddamned moron. A good smith can make one that folds in and out perfectly, avoid it being a problem, especially with practice.” She shrugs “but I suppose if you mess up, sure, it could be dangerous. Which is where practice and proper equipment maintenance comes in.”
  153.
  154.
  155. "Yupyup! I'm tryin' t' decide between th' necklace 'r th' bracelet. I-I'm sorta leanin' towards th' bracelet, so.... how much?" he asks the frazzled Buffalo
  156.
  157.
  158. “hm? Oh! Yes yes....yes! Uhm, well you seem a nice fellow, ill let it go for 4.5gb, another 6 sb to get it properly fitted to your size.” Weaver of Gold giggles, “though I dont know many males wanting to wear this stuff.” she nods to Day. “oh, and the necklace, uhm....7.2gb? Wait, no....wait, hrm....” she quickly ducks her head under the counter, and the sound of files and paper can be heard, before she comes up with a wider smile. “i mean, 6.9gb, yes!”
  159.
  160.
  161. Stray glances back to the crossbow on his back, before chuckling and nodding to Tail. "Y'got that right. I'd really have to be up shit creek without a paddle!" Stray puts the ceremonial knife back down, his eyes tracing along teh various weapons on the display. "But still... a tomohawk... Never thought'a that." He looks up to Tail again, the resolute look of someone who wanted to spend money evident in his blue eyes. "Y'got any tomohawks that could be carried with a crossbow? If things get too close and hairy, it'd be nice to have somethin' to toss I guess, sense there's no grenades..." He mumbles that last part nearly inaudibly.
  162.
  163.
  164. Gary's wing's flared out a little bit when she touched his chest, still wary of the massive buffalo, "Well, having wingblades sounds like a good idea, it's another layer of offense and defense, could be real useful. Hundred and five just cause I've got proportionate wing size though?" He quirked an eye at her. Not even his armor and weapons from the town smithy had been that much and he was going to try and get the price down.
  165.
  166.
  167. Tail laughs, slapping the table top. “Grenades? Oh, well, I got a miner friend a bit further in I can send ya off to, hes crazy into that stuff. Otherwise, I could easily fit a blade to the front of your crossbow, if you want.” he shrugs.
  168.
  169. Killer looks at Garys wings again, pulling both out and looking them over. “hmm, well, 105 was for the lower end stuff. And yeah, your size would cost a bit more materials ,but I suppose for something just thrown together, I can do 95.3gb” she says, letting go of the wing she had.
  170.
  171.
  172. "O-Oh! No, nono, it's for my girlfriend!" he chuckles nervously, before handing her 8 gold bits "Here! I'll take both! She ain't as bulky as I am, her leg's bout..." he manages to approximate the width of her foreleg to the buffalo
  173.
  174.
  175. Weaver looks at Peyote nervously. “oh, uh, 8gb is a bit low for both, I think, uhm, but, maybe 10 is a good middle ground?”
  176.
  177.
  178. Still not at all happy with that price, Gary shook his head again, "Well, what's stopping me from getting the wing blades from our town smithy? I got a set of armor, a helmet, and a halberd all for much lower price and they're all battle proven and worth!" He stood firm.
  179.
  180. Stray's eyes widen, his smile turning slightly excited at the idea. "Oh wow... you do? I definitely wanna take a look!" He looks at the muzzle of his crossbow strapped against his shoulder, then to Tail again. "You can do a bayonet? That'd sure be sweet. How much would that cost?"
  181.
  182.
  183. Killer of Dogs just shrugs. “yeah, but its probably all shit, Equestrians dont know anything about proper smiting. Plus, Wingblades have much more complex components, aswell as needing more accurate measurements. More work, more cost. 87Gb for the cheapest.” she nods firmly.
  184.
  185. Tail Chaser laughs. “i can do it fer....say, 10gb.” he quickly scribbles something down, and hands it to Stray. “heavy leather Tent pained red, to the north a bit, should have guards, and a smell of sulfur. Tell Creator of Craters I sent ya!”
  186.
  187.
  188. Peyote chuckles a little bit, before pulling Daybreak into a quick hug "Thanks for helpin' me choose, Daybreak!" He starts to look around towards the rest of the tents, before blinking once or twice and turning back to Weaver "Hmm? 10 gold bits? Uhh, alright!" he remarks, amd starts to dig for a couple more bits
  189.
  190. The mare squeaked in his hug and pulled away, " Ack! Its no problem! " she smiled to him however, somewhere deep down, glad to help. After Peyo had chosen his things, Day had gathered some herself, looking like a kid in a candy store. " How much for this little thing? Is that a phoenix? Looks neat! And what about that white dress of over there with the blue on it? " her eyes also look over to see more things at another table. Was that a leather journal? A leather bag? We don't know what causes such a phenomenon but girls love purses and bags for some goddamn reason. She'd head over there next, and then to the weapons.
  191.
  192.
  193. Weaver nods, taking the bits and wrapping the items up in wax paper for Peyote, handing them to him. “pleasure doing business mister!”
  194.
  195. Weaver smiles to Day, “oooh, thats nice dress, im SURE itll catch some guys eyes if you wear that.” she giggles. “and yes, its phoenix. Seen one or two in the mountains myself actually, very majestic creatures.” she taps her chin. “i can do.....12gb for the dress, 1gb for the fitting, if I dont have one in your size aaand....well, ill give you the the brooch for 8 silver!”
  196.
  197.
  198. Stray Shot's tail starts visibly wagging slightly at the mention of sulpher, internally finding the 'Creator of Craters' name amusing. "I'll definitely pay a visit there!" He says with unusual enthusiasm in his voice, before looking back down to the knives on the table. "What about that ceremonial knife from before? How much was that?"
  199.
  200.
  201. Gary actually really wanted those wing blades now, but he couldn't show it. That price was still too damn high, so he was going to go in for one last gambit he'd learned from his sister on Earth, "Well, I'm afraid then I'll have to look elsewhere," He started to back off and slowly walk away, "Probably other smithies round here that'll do it cheaper..." Gary murmured, just loud enough to make sure Killer of Dogs could hear him.
  202.
  203. Daybreak slapped the 13gb and the 8 silver on the table, it sounded fine to her as she was too excited to haggle. " Deal! "
  204.
  205. Peyote happily pays the buffalo the two extra bits, before giggling a little at Daybreak and turning to check around some of the different stalls. He doesn't spot any kind of punchers, which... makes sense. They're buffalo! He checks around a little more, before humming to himself. He's not a weapons guy, so... he'll give it a pass. He does, however, spot something a little ways away from Gold Weaver's stand...
  206. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/306083584559677441/338493155110289408/il_570xN.486823795_6rph.jpg.cf.jpg
  207. "Ooh! Oohooh! Ponchos!" He warks excitedly, hurrying over to the stand "Ya got ponchos? Any f'r a guy my size?"
  208.
  209.
  210. Tail picks up the knife, looking it over. “hmm....5.5gb. Its a pretty thing, ya know they say some of this fancier ones might grant the wielder luck?” he laughs, shrugging, “i never trusted in that myself, but hey, no harm if others do.”
  211.
  212. “Ok.” Killer says, and turns and heads for her tent.
  213.
  214. Weaver smiles to Day, taking the money and wrapping the goods for her. “enjoy!”
  215.
  216. As Day heads to the leather stand with the purses and journal, she sees a much older Buffalo grandma in a rocking chair behind the stand, snoring, he glasses nearly falling off her face...
  217.
  218. A gruff looking dark furred Buffalo meets Peyote, spitting some tobacco into a pot. “yup.” he says simply.
  219.
  220.
  221. "Can you cut me a deal if I buy the bayonet and ceremonial knife?"
  222.
  223. Gary stopped and growled to himself, clicking his beak in place of biting his lip, "Eighty bits and I'll do it!" He turned to look at the buffalo with a determined expression plastered on his face.
  224.
  225. "Awesome! I could use a second one! How much ya want f'r it?" He asks, bobbing up and down excitedly as he looks over another variety at the same stall
  226. Thr griffon spots a pair of saddlebags at the same stall, and hums a little bit "Ooohhh... This, this too! How much f'r these an' the poncho?" he asks the vendor

  228.
  229.
  230. Daybreak eyes the journal, and then the sleeping old lady. A smirk appeared on her face. The old woman wouldn't know a thing, just like in the old days back on earth! She looked around to make sure no one was watching. She'd just need to make a small scene of dropping her things, then swiftly stuff it in her bag. Day lifted a hoof up to start the act.... ...but saw the gold on her hooves glint in the light. They were a bit scuffed up but still, the color shown through. She bit her lip and hesitated her actions. Thinking about thievery and her duties were clashing in her mind. "...W-well I don't want to steal from a tribe. They need the money after all. B-but I can grab things back in town easily. I totally haven't gone soft. Nope. " she sighed, putting her hoof down and cleared her throat loud enough for the grandma buffalo to hear. " A-ahem! How much for the journal? "

  232.
  233.
  234. Tail taps his chin...then smiles. He suddenly pulls out a godamned javelin and tosses it, the thing landing a good thirty feet behind Stray....an apple tied to the top of it where it stood out of the ground.
  235. “how bout this? You hit the apple, ill do it fer 8gb, all of it. You miss, you owe me 20gb instead.” Tail Chaser has a massive, shit eating Grin on his face.
  236.
  237. The old lady stirs, blinding awake and pushes her glasses back upright, smiling to Day. “oh? Why hello little one, my my, arent you a small one! Oh? The journal? Hmm.....1 gold.” the grandma smiles. “But for someone who looked like they were gonna steal it and didnt? Ill go 8 silver.” the grandma chuckles “i saw you looking around, dont deny it.” she rocks the chair forward, and in one fluid motion is both on her feet and has bapped Day on the head with a hoof.
  238.
  239. The big old Gruff Buffalo looks between Peyote and the poncho. “2 gold.” he says simply.
  240.
  241. Killer doesn't stop, but does walk in a circle, coming to a stop in front of Gary, poking him in the chest again. “85 solid for short blades, 100 for long blades. Another 10 for engraving if your up for it. Take it or leave it.”
  242.
  243. The Gruff Buffalo looks at the bag too. “another 1 gold.” he says, putting both items infront of Peyote
  244.
  245.
  246. "Awesome!" He warks out, passing the buffalo 4 gold bits and taking his purchases! He stuffs his other stuff into his new bag, and... changes poncho, too, tucking the old one in his new saddlebags with his other purchases, and his normal gear. "Now I can switch out! Thank ya, mister!"
  247.
  248. Daybreak flushes pink in embarrassment then laughs nervously, "...ahaha...ha...I wasn't gonna...I mean I..." then she was bapped on the head, making her pout with a bit of anger that immediately subsided. She huffed and placed 1 gold on the counter and taking the journal, "...I-It's not like I wanted to pay full price! That rocking chair just looks old, g-get a new one already. " she said huffing then moving onto the weapons where Stray was. She passes by the others, waving to them. They seemed to be having fun too.
  249.
  250. Stray Shot tilts away from the javelin as Tails throws it. Listening to his offer, he was really liking it, until he mentioned 20gb. He looks at the smiling buffalo for a few moments, thinking it over. He didn't want to spend 20, but then again, at least he could prove to them that he would keep his word if he lost, which might help open up more job or business opportunities later. Stray smirks at Tail, finally, nodding. "You're on." He unslings his crossbow, eyeing up the distance between him and the apple. The marksman pony sits on his haunches, bringing the crossbow to his shoulder, before aiming down the sights at the bright red target in the distance. He took a couple of deep, steady breaths as he slowly pulled the triggerbar with a hoof...
  251. "Don't get caught in the crossfire, Day~"
  252. [Rolled, 5, missed]
  253. "Uh... b-best two outta three?" Stray says with a sheepish grin
  254.
  255. Gary narrowed his eyes, standing tall and glaring at Killer, fluffing out his feathers at her poking again, but kept himself in check. But... He deflated quickly, not thinking it was worth it, "Nah, I'm sure your work is real good and all, but that's simply too much just for some wing blades, but thanks anyways." The gryphon sighed and turned, heading away empty handed.
  256.
  257. Peyote goes over to join Stray Shot and Daybreak, and hums a little bit. He would say something about his new poncho, but he wouldn't want to distract Stray. He settles in quietly, waving a little at Day and patting Stray's shoulder lightly "Yeah, you can do it this time!"
  258.
  259.
  260.
  261. the old lady waves as Day leaves, chuckling.
  262.
  263. Killer shrugs, and turns and leaves. The other Smith looks up from his work as he sticks the helm in cooling oil. “you suck at haggling. Probably could of gotten it down to 55-68gb.” he shrugs to Gary.
  264.
  265. Tail bursts out laughing, smacking a hoof on the counter top. “oh no boy, you made a deal, but tell you what, you can have the apple for free, HAH!”
  266.
  267.
  268. Peyote snickers a little bit, and tries to hide the smile "W-Well... At least ya got an apple!" he remarks, before stepping back to give Stray the space to stand back up "Hey, Daybreak, Stray! Like m' new poncho?"
  269.
  270. Gary rolls his eyes but keeps walking, yelling back to the buffalo as he went, "That's still too much and you know it!" He moved on, looking for something else that might interest him, but nothing really did. As he walked along, nothing seemed to be catching his eye, causing him to grumble . If he couldn't find anything else to really do, he was just going to go and see if he could go say hello to Rock and the Chief.
  271.
  272. Stray laughs, shrugging. "Aw you're right, a deal's a deal," he says chuckling, pulling out a small bag of bits from his saddlebags. He lets the crossbow dangle from the sling around his neck as he fiddles with the little gold coins, counting out 10 on Tail's table. "It was worth a shot.~ Alright, yeah I'll take the bayonet and the knife for 20 bits. Yer killin' me though!" He says with a laugh as he unslings his crossbow and lays it on the table. "You can install it right here?" He asks, though it seemed like more of a statement as he turned around and trotted over to the javelin, picking it out of the ground and bringing it back to Tail. Getting back to the table, Stray sticks it into the ground and grabs the apple off the top with his teeth. "Wer at reast eh gutta appul ourra the deal" he struggles to say as he chomps down on the apple.
  273.
  274.
  275.
  276.
  277. Day saw the arrow whip by and jumped, " Whoa! Dammit Stray! " she shakes her hoof at him even though she was probably walking the wrong way. Day blinked at Peyote, " Eey, that's a great way to smugg-hide stuff! " she comments on the poncho before going up to the weapons stall. Does she the dagger immediately?
  278.
  279. Stray pokerfaces at the mention of smuggling, though he realized she was referring to Peyote. It did look like an easy thing to hide stuff under...
  280.
  281. Peyote doesn't really catch the smuggling comment, but he does bob his head a little bit "Yeah! It's a little on th' large side, but it still fits well. It's so roomy an' comfy, they're great!" he chirps out, before spying the bayonet "Ooohh... say, that's pretty darn good! Nice thinkin', Stray!"
  282.
  283.
  284. Tail nods, taking the bits, handing Stray the knife, then picking up the crossbow, turns and heads into his Tent. “ill be but a moment!”
  285.
  286. and he was, coming out just a few minutes later, the bottom front had a tomahawk blade sticking downward, making the thing now an improvised axe if the going gets tough!
  287. http://www.hatchetsandaxes.com//media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/512x512/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/m/smokable_american_tomahawk_peace_pipe.jpg
  288. [this blade, minus the back bit]
  289.
  290. Tail Chaser smiles, and holds it up to Stray. “good work if I do say so myself!”
  291.
  292.
  293. Meanwhile, as Gary walked down one of the main pathways, the partying, games, and general crowd would slowly pick up, til it was loud and, well, crowded, as games were played, songs were sung.
  294.
  295. Some kind soul pushed some sorta corn based alcohol into his claws, before a drunken young Buffalo Lady grabbed his other claw and dragged him into a dancing circle, spinning him around and laughing merrily!
  296. [Gary, d20+perception please]
  297. Gary, 18
  298.
  299. As Gary was whipped around and danced with, he would notice something though....while rare, and hard to pick out, he would notice a small number of Zebras among the crowd!
  300.
  301. Stray watches as Tail installs the bayonet, admiring the buffalo's quick skill. He seemed to have done this a lot. He takes the finished product into his hooves, hefting it and evaluating the sturdiness. It seemed tough enough. He'd certainly been running the shit out of this crossbow, so he'd find out soon if it would hold up to hard use in practice and in the jungle. "Very nice, Tail. Nice doin' business with you. I'm sure we'll be dealin' with each other again soon," he tells the buffalo with a smile, slinging his crossbow around his shoulder and stuffing the knife into his saddlebag.
  302.
  303.
  304. Tail nods, smiling. “sure, I look forward to seeing ya miss again, good business Stray,” he says, laughing.
  305.
  306.
  307.
  308. Gary was entirely shocked when he found a bottle in his hand and when he suddenly found himself in a circle, dancing with a buffalo female. Blinking in surprise, Gary shrugged his wings and decided it was a festival, so why the hell not? Taking a swig, the large gryphon began to dance away with the buffalo, his little bit of a sour mood from the smithy quickly being washed away in the merriment. While he was dancing around, his eye caught an oddity, the zebra. Wondering what they could possibly be here for, Gary split off from his dance partner with a spin, moving his way over to them, "Hey, so what brings the zebra out here?!" He tried calling to them over the loud noises.
  309.
  310.
  311. One of the two nearby Zebra having a chat looks up at Gary, and smirks. She was a younger lass, her mane down in a braid on her neck.
  312. “Well, id ask you the same thing, but I must assume you are from Outer Hayven, no?
  313. She chuckles. “well, ill let you guess, your straight forward approach a bit odd. This is a meeting of Five Tribes, all to some degree family related. “ She takes a sip of her drink, smirking behind the mug. “perhaps I do not have to fill in the details, of why some zebras would be among the tribe, and allowed in, when it is mostly in a sense, a gathering a family, hm?”
  314.
  315.
  316. "Hey the sun was in my eyes! That's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it!" Stray says jokingly with a laugh as he starts to walk away. "I'm gonna go check out those journals over there. Nice find, Day." He says as he makes his way to the journals
  317.
  318. She nodded to Stray and waved her hoof to try and get Tali's attention. She wasn't that short, right? " Oi! Dude! Down here! "
  319.
  320. Stray's eyes are immediately drawn to one journal in particular that stuck out to him. It almost looked like a burnt, leather-bound journal. It almost had a 'dark' vibe to it. It was wider than Stray's, which would be nice for writing. He picks it up in his hooves and opens it, feeling the thick cream-colored pages.
  321. http://www.thepumpkinandthecauldron.com/BBBCANT.jpg
  322.
  323. "Howdy," he says, looking up from his nose in the journal to the buffalo manning the stand
  324.
  325. "Oh, you're gettin' a journal? That's pretty near, actually." he remarks, peeeeeking over Stray Shot's shoulder to peer at his selection "Ooh! Go f'r th' dark-colored one! I like th' look'f it."
  326.
  327.
  328. Tail smirks, looking down at Day. “hello little lassy. Im Tail Chaser if ya didnt hear already haha. What you need?” he smirked, as she had to stand on her hind legs to reach the counter top, mostly anyways. “a stool perhaps?”
  329.
  330. the Buffalo at Strays stand was a tired looking younger teen, who nods. “howdy.” he says. “you interested in the journal? Think its....7silver, hm?”
  331.
  332.
  333.
  334.
  335.
  336.
  337. "Yep, I've always liked neat lookin' journals." Stray says to Peyote, before looking to the young bafflo. "Seven, huh? That's reasonable," Stray says, though he glances in the direction Tail had pointed him to Creator of Craters. "But uh... I gotta go check out those grenades first. If I have enough left over I'll come get this." He says with a sheepish grin to the teen, putting the journal back where it was before abruptly scampering towards the tent Tail had pointed him to.
  338.
  339. She made an angry face at him, " N-no! I'm not that short, you're all just big! " she pouted then tried to soften her features a bit. Just a bit, then pointed her foreleg to the ceremonial knife, " How much? " The she had to double take, " Wait did you say your name was Tail Chaser? "
  340.
  341.
  342. The Buffalo shrugs as Stray walks off, but nods to Peyote. “if you want to,sure.”
  343.
  344. Tail Chaser looks at the knife, a similar one to what Stray had bought, but a bit less curve in the handle.
  345. “hm? Oh, id say bout...8 gold.” he smirks. “and yup. Tail Chaser.” He says, looking her in the eyes.
  346.
  347.
  348. "N-no, there's no need for that Peyote, it's alright, heh," Stray calls back to Peyote. Truth be told, he had more than enough money to buy pretty much whatever he wanted, but he was trying not to let on that fact to the dealers, lest they charge the shit out of him. Not only that, but he was intentionally limiting himself on how many bits he could spend here. He makes his way toward the northern tent, his nostrils beginning to pick up the scent of sulpher as he gets closer. He stops once he reaches the nearest guard, smiling up at the big buffalo.
  349.
  350. Peyote smiles thankfully to the vendor and passes Stray the journal, before sticking his tongue out "Too bad! 'S yours now~." he caws, before hurrying along to spot the big ol' buffalo "You said explosives? Grenades? Shit!"
  351.
  352. Quirking his eye at the zebra mare being all coy, Gary pressed onward with another question, "A gathering of family? I'd say that means you're somehow related to these buffalo, but the answer isn't always that clear, is it?"
  353.
  354. Her eyes dart away from his as she quickly goes into her bag to pull out the 8 gold bits...but stops herself with an idea. She was totally a woman, right? She leans back up on the counter and looks the buffalo back into his eyes, " Hey mister, that knife is really, really pretty..." she turns her head but keeps her eyes locked with his, "It even matches with my necklace! You can part with it for lil' ol' me for...5 bits maybe? " Day tried her best to look cute.
  355.
  356. Stray blinks down at the journal put in his hooves, looking hesitant for a few moments before he smiled at the griffon. "Aw... Well thanks, P! I'll getcha back later." He reaches a hoof up to pat Peyote on the back a couple of times, stuffing the journal into his saddlebag as he looks up to the guard again.
  357.
  358. Peyote gives Stray a big ol' grin, and bobs his head
  359.
  360.
  361.
  362.
  363.
  364. Stray(and Peyote if he followed) comes across a large, heavy looking Tent much further into the lively center of the place, though not as lively as the area Gary was, as he was in more of a back alley sorta area. The fact the thick canvased, red tent had guards at the door probably didnt help either, most party goers or shoppers offput by their presence.
  365.
  366. The guards are, well, not the usual type. Very much not the usual type. They were two hulking, armored behemoths, who pointed a hoof at him. “Sorry sir, your not allowed to bring anything but Bits inside. Includes clothing.”
  367.
  368.
  369. Tail Chaser Grins at Day, wide and big. “well well, arent you a charmer eh?” he chuckles, and leans on the table himself, never breaking eye contact. “tell ya what? Give me a peck on the cheek, and its yours for 4gb, eh?” he says.
  370.
  371.
  372. The Mare smirks at Gary, lowering her mug. “nope. Im from the Redwood Tribe, few generations back, Chief took a liking to a Zebra Chiefess, and she him.” she wiggled her eyebrows at him “im sure I dont have to explain to a big guy like you what happened next.”
  373. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/306083584559677441/338513909747023872/cd82fe86d317d6fd1cd34541dad06c10.png
  374.
  375.
  376. Peyote does skid to a stop along the way, though! He spots a war club, at Tail Chaser's Stand! He mulls it over a little, and hums... it seems odd, but Whiskey might like it! http://www.boudillion.com/nashobahill/NH84.jpg
  377. "Heya, uhm... Mister Tail Chaser! How much f'r th' club?" he asks, before lookin' over at Stray. He doesn't want to lose sight of him!
  378.
  379. Her wiggling eyebrows caused Gary to chuckle a bit, the corn alcohol very slightly affecting him already, "Sorry for being so nosey, only zebras I've met were out in the jungles and they lived up in the trees, so it was a bit odd to see ya here!" The gryphon turned and looked at the dance circle and then to the bottle in his hand, "Name's Gary Oak by the way. Mind if I knew yours?"
  380.
  381.
  382. Stray Shot's smile fades a little bit, the shorter-than-average stallion's ears folding back at the intimidating guard. He side glanced over to where the sound of drinking and partying was going on, and noted to himself that he would need to get a drink after this. The pegasus gulps, nods, and immediately complies, unslinging his crossbow. He removes the magazine from the top and racks the charging handle, making the loaded bolt fly out into the air, which Stray reaches up and catches with a hoof. His weapon cleared, he lays it down carefully in front of the guard, with the magazine laying next to it.
  383.
  384. He then starts unbuttoning his collared camouflage shirt, removes his saddlebags, and takes off his shirt as well, stripping himself completely to his bright orange ass. "Yes, sir." He says firmly, reaching into his saddlebags on the ground and grabbing his bag of bits.
  385.
  386.
  387.
  388.
  389. Daybreak jerks back, " What?! I ain't doi-" but then she thinks back to what Gary had said what happened to him at the castle. Her eye twitched. He danced with Starry, and she even kissed him on the cheek. Tail could hear the mare growling as she stewed in her thoughts, not at him but in general at something else. Sweet, sweet revenge. She leaned forward closer to the Buffalo, trying her best to reach up and... …
  390.
  391. boop! Day grinned having booped the guy on his snout with her hoof. " Sorry, I have a boyfriend. " then she put 8 gold bits on the table. Gary would probably feel a random shiver down his spin. Like he was going to be hit at some point.
  392.
  393.
  394. The Zebra mare chuckles, holding out a hoof. “Bone Breaker, nice to meet ya Gary.” she rolled her eyes though at the mention of the tree zebras. “yeah...some of our...'pure blooded' 'siblings' are...well, theres a reason we stay with the Buffalo.” she says, taking a drink.
  395.
  396.
  397. Tail actually seemed mildly surprised she almost agreed, but after being booped, pulled back, bursting into laughter. “oh missy, you make my old heart quake, aint healthy ta laugh so hard at my age!”
  398.
  399. he chuckles, and takes seven of them, pushing one back as he hands her the knife. “Whoever it is that scored you better respect what hes got, hah.”
  400.
  401.
  402. Tail didnt sell Clubs, but Peyote saw another stand that sold Clubs AND short swords! The stand, oddly, was manned by a Zebra! The tough looking guy nodded to Peyote as he approached, one eye missing and scarred over, his mane a very thin mowhawk.
  403. “you want the club? Fine work went into that, ill part with it for...11gold, hm?” he says, leaning on the counter and looking at Peyote sternly.
  404.
  405.
  406. The guard nods to Stary, putting his stuff to the side. “dont worry, we'll keep it safe for you.” he says kindly, nodding for Stray to enter.
  407.
  408. Inside was a bit dim, but there were a few lanterns here and there, so it was bright enough. It was...a crowded place, all sorts of metal things in piles in corners, shelves over flowing with vials and knick knacks that did who knows what, and a actually kinda small Buffalo with half his face fur missing tinkering with something at the counter to the right.
  409.
  410.
  411. Stray Shot smiles weakly to the guard and nods, passing him and entering the tent. He brushes a lock of mane out of his vision as his eyes scan the room.
  412. [d20+perception Stray]
  413. 18, success
  414.
  415. Stray would notice a few vials labled as strong acids, and would notice a few weapons in the piles. He would also find a box full of red sticks labeled 'discount dynamite' , and three off, clockwork orbs one one shelf that smelled of gunpowder a bit.
  416.
  417.
  418.
  419. "11 gold? Sure!" he warks excitedly, passing it over. As should be completely obvious, Peyote's a terrible haggler, mostly due to his own eagerness. He passes the bits over and takes the club, stuffing it away before making his way towards Stray Shot. He looks at either of the guards, before humming "I... I shouldn't try my luck with explosives. S-So, uhm... I'll go check out other stuff! Seeya in a bit Stray!" he warks, before skip-hopping towards the abnormally tall Griffon "Yo, Gary! Havin' fun?" he asks, his tail swishing about
  420.
  421. She takes the knife and the gold bit back with a grin still on her face, " Damn right he better! Bye Tail, and thanks! " she takes off, now ready to find that dumb griffon of hers and probably hit him.
  422.
  423. "Nice to meet ya, Bone Breaker!" Gary greeted the mare properly, still having to raise his voice slightly, but suddenly looked around oddly as a shiver ran up his spine despite the warm sunlight coming down on him. Deciding it was nothing, Gary continued to look out across the dance circle, smiling and nodding at the music, an idea popped into his head. "Hey, watch after this for me!" He told the zebra mare and walked back into the circle. Now, Gary back on Earth was actually a bit of a dancer, his mother having forced him into it as a way to make him more of an artistic person when he was younger. He'd hated it and refused to do it after a year and gone to play soccer instead, but that didn't mean things didn't stick with him. The gryphon leaped back into the fray, hoping that he could use those old skills in this new body too, dancing wildly with the other buffalo and poofing out his feathers, using his wings to add some flare to his dancing, his new snowy white feathers reflecting some of the sunlight.
  424.
  425. Stray raises his eyebrow at the strong acids, and then the few weapons in the pile. He walks up to the pile with the weapons, sifting through it to look for anything that might use gunpowder.
  426.
  427.
  428. [Day, Peyote, d20+Hunting, Survival, or Perception to FIND Gary at all in the crowds]
  429. [Gary, d20+charisma or Dex for sick dance moves]
  430. Day, 17
  431. Peyote, 8
  432. Gary, 18
  433.
  434. Gary pulls off some sick moves, the crowd clapping and cheering for him!
  435. Day arrives at the edge of the circling about as Gary starts.
  436.
  437. Peyote however gets a bit lost, and suddenly is sitting down with a glass of Corn Beer in his hand as a Buffalo he doesn't know is telling him a story!
  438. “and so there I was, three, no, four Tiger wolves around me, and nothing but a stick to defend myself with....”
  439.
  440.
  441. Stray actually finds something that might fit the bill! It was rough, and had clearly been in the pile awhile, but the odd tube on the end seemed to be for a familiar purpose...
  442.
  443.
  444. Gary was really starting to get into it, the crowd's cheering and stomping pumping him up and causing him to really start stomping around to the rhythm, flaring his wings every now and then.
  445.
  446.
  447.
  448. Stray Shot's heart jumps a little when he spots a very rough, surplus looking long weapon. He picks it up into his hooves and sits on his haunches, his eyes widening a little bit as he looks at the muzzle and sees that it is what it looks like. "Ohhhh shit!" He looks excited, and starts glancing around the room for any dealer or something.
  449.
  450. Stray fiddles with the weapon, looking at the steel part and testing the trigger
  451.
  452.
  453. Daybreak was grumbling to herself, looking for the brown and wite birdbrain...oh wait. He wait, he was supposed to be gray now, right? Ugh, what made him go and change like that, huh? As she pushes through the crowds she catches a glimpse of pretty white freathers. Her eyes follow them and lead to seeing the Griffon dancing wonderfully and having a good time. She blushed. " H-he can dance? " Day squeaked and held a hoof to her cheek while she watched. " I...guess I can hit him l-later. "
  454.
  455. Peyote found his way to a table, it seems. He's not sure how he got lost, but... he's just gonna go with it! Peyote bobs his head and sips at the corn beer slowly, before cocking his head to the side "Tiger Wolves? I've never heard 'a those, they sound awfully nasty! So, what happened? Didja fend 'em all off?" he asks, increasingly excited as the story drags on
  456.
  457.
  458.
  459. While no Trigger, Stray can clearly see how it works. A small opening near the back of the tube, like any flintlock or other older gun would have.
  460.
  461. Over at the already mentioned counter, was the skinny buffalo from before. He smiled, pulling back from whatever he was working on...which was ticking infront of him. “ha, fixed it!....wait, I just fixed a bomb.” shrugging, the Buffalo casually starts working on the ticking object again.....but seems to get it back apart before it can explode or anything, the ticking stopping.
  462.
  463.
  464. Meanwhile, as Garys dance comes to a close, the crowd clapping, Bone Breaker comes up to him, patting him on the back as she hands him his drink. “Well that was impressive Gary! Hah, didnt expect that!” she says, hoof still on his back...
  465.
  466. The big black buffalo laughs, nodding to Peyote. “well, im here, so obviously! They broke the stick pretty quickly see, but not before I could get a good hit on one. Kicking back, I took out another, before one jumped me from the side, biting down!” he says, showing Peyote a scar on his side.
  467.
  468.
  469. Gary gladly took the drink with a laugh, taking a drink but trying to move away from the mare to sit on the sidelines again, almost out of breath from his impromptu dance, "Hahaha, that was great! Haven't had that much fun I think in a while!"
  470.
  471. "Damn, that's rough!" he warks at the scar, before grinning widely and chirping a little "Glad ya managed t' fight 'em off! Didn't mess ya up beyond th' scar, did it? Oh! What do Tiger Wolves look like?!" he asks, looking over the scar a little bit more "What happened t' th' fourth one?"
  472.
  473. Daybreak then goes up to Gary as well, also impressed with his dancing. She sees the lady zebra with the braided hair go up to him as well. There's a slight twitch in her eye, but it was all good. She was cute at least, " About time I found you! " she gives him a hit to his shoulder, but it was not as hard as she intended it to be. Then she looks to the zebra, " He's not causing trouble, is he? I'm Daybreak. "
  474.
  475. Stray Shot has a shit eating grin on his face as he plays with the primitive firearm. It seemed almost like a surplus weapon from it's wear, but it gave him a bit of nostalgia, the situation being similar to when he picked through crates of Mosins on Earth to find the diamond in the rough. He proudly takes the boomstick into his hooves and balances it on his back as he makes his way to the counter. "Hey, there! I was interested in getting something like this. Do you happen to have anything more... well, better?" He asks the clerk with a sheepish grin.
  476.
  477. "If not, then I'm interested in gettin' this one in particular. And maybe some dynamite if I have enough left over, but I don't have that much on me right now... We'll see." He says with a smile.
  478.
  479.
  480. The buffalo laughs. “nah, after the third, the all fled!” he shrugged. “kinda like a dog and tiger got together, but with a thin, longer snout then expected. Nasty things.” he nods.
  481.
  482. Bone breaks chuckles as Day hits Gary, lowering he hoof and shrugged. “oh, plenty. He asked me all sorts of personal, inappropriate questions, with a bit of racism too!” Bone Breaker says with a fake pout, but gives Day a wink at an angle Gary cant see.
  483.
  484.
  485. Gary was taking a drink from his bottle when Bone said that, causing him to suddenly choke and sputter, setting down the bottle to cough up the drink. When he recovered, he looked between the two, at Bones with a look of betrayal and Daybreak with a pleading look, "W-what?! I did not!"
  486.
  487. " Oh he did, eh? " the mare shot him a death glare, " And here I was refusing to kiss a buffalo to get lower prices! Jeez, the way he looked into my eyes too! So deep. " she faked a sigh and gave the zebra mare a smirk.
  488.
  489. "Hrm... now. These things sound pretty neat! Do they live elsewhere, 'r jus' here? I might wanna try tamin' one 'a these critters." he says, getting a second corn beer.
  490.
  491.
  492.
  493. The odd Buffalo ignores Stray at first, finishing his work, but once he finishes looks up, then points off to...somewhere. “I have a few designs laying about.” he says, and gets back to the mess of things on his counter.
  494.
  495. Bone Breaker just pouts more, sniffling and nodding along with Day. “he...he implied so many things, and so many he wanted to do to me...” she looks at Day with a big, fake, tearful look. “hes a brute, he called me a tree monkey.”
  496.
  497. The buffalo nearly sprays Peyote with beer! “what?! er...they can be found all over the plains yes...i mean...never thought of grabbing a pup to train...” he says, rubbing his chin.
  498.
  499.
  500. Gary held his head high, closing his eyes and huffed, stomping one of his claws into the dirt, "All lies and slander!"
  501.
  502. "Hrm... near here? I might wanna try grabbin' one b'fore I leave. I live out in th' swamps southeast 'a here." he explains, before stroking his beak "I've trained Pterodactyls, so... how hard could it be?"
  503.
  504. "Uh... Thanks, I'll take a look again," he says with an awkward smile, still holding the gun propped to his back as he goes over to where the odd Buffalo's other guns were to take a look through them for one that looked like it was better than the rest, in condition and/or functionality.
  505.
  506. " Ehhh? But how can I believe you? " she wraps a hoof around the zebra, " Look at this poor hurt mare! She's in tears! Come on miss, let's have you sit down and away from such a brute! " Day starts to walk to a table with Bone, turning her head back to Gary and sticking her tongue out at him.
  507.
  508. Seeing them move off, Gary saw Day stick her tongue out at him and chuckled, shaking his head. It seemed the dancing might be picking up again and with nothing else to do while Day introduced herself to Bone Breaker, the gryphon went in for round two.
  509.
  510.
  511.
  512. The buffalo shrugs to Peyote. “the tend to not stay in one place too long. You do you, but might be hard to find one, especially with all the activity from the Festival.”
  513.
  514. while no one stack of guns, Stray does find a stack that looks promising!
  515. [d20+4+perception]
  516. Stray,11
  517.
  518. Gary starts to dance, only to be grabbed by another dance and brought into alittle dance with them, similar to what everyone else was doing. The female laughed as she spun him around with the others.
  519.
  520. As Bone and Day go off, Bone snickers, sitting down with Day. “oh boy, that was fun. Thanks for playing along, Day right? Man, your friend, hes too easy to prod.” Bone Breaker says, offering Day both a mug of beer and a hoof to shake. “Bone Breaker by the way, nice to be a bastard along side you.~”
  521.
  522.
  523. Stray finds nothing overly better, just a few variants.
  524. One has a shorter stock, but slightly longer barrel, but the spike was also a bit thinner.
  525. Another was fully metal, just a thin metal rod to put under your arm/leg, connecting right to the back of the barrel.
  526. The third though, might interest him the most. No spike and a shorter stock, but a familiar crossbow like trigger on the bottom, connected to a device that simply, with no gears or mechanical assistance, bought a little hollow tube segment down next to the hole on the barrel, with was on the side of this ones, instead of the top like the others.
  527.
  528.
  529.
  530. "Aww, phooey. Well, I'll keep my eyes peeled! Thanks f'r th' story, mister!" he warks, before heading out!... and trying to look for a stall related to animals! Maybe one featuring some bestiaries. It'd take a while to look for one here, buuuut... maybe they'll migrate down to the swamps!
  531. Where he's headed other than that... he's not really sure. He's still lost
  532.
  533. She took the mug and grinned, " Thanks, I've been wanting to get back at him a bit. " Day took a sip then turned her head to the side to cough and sputter. This was too strong for her liking and not at all sweet. " S-sorry...its...g-good? " she tried to say recovering, " A-anyway, I imagine you're part of the six tribes, huh? " she remembered from the message they got about the event, " Do you know Roc-er...Honor? "
  534.
  535. Gary laughed and genuinely enjoyed the time he was having, getting into the groove. He felt absolutely exhilarated and his mind completely forgot about any of the troubles from the past few days, just letting him have fun for once.
  536.
  537.
  538. Peyote would find himself near the middle of the great tent circle, but would find a good chunk of the middle area and tents nearest to the stone was blocked off by railing and those big, armored buffalo guards.
  539.
  540. But seeing what/ who he was, one nods. “your from Outer Hayven right? Feel free to go into the VIP section “ one says.
  541.
  542.
  543. Bones breaks out laughing. “i better know him, considering his daddy and my mommy are siblings.” she chuckles as Days reaction to the drink “need something more lightweight?” she asks.
  544.
  545.
  546. Gary continued to dance, sometimes with girls, sometimes with guys, sometimes by himself! He was really getting around!
  547.
  548. Stray's face lights up and his long blond tail wags happily as he plays with what appeared to be a shorter matchlock. He liked the short stock length for his particular size, and he cocked the match-holder 'hammer' before trying the trigger pull. It was crisp, and the overall feel and controls of the weapon were conveniently similar to his crossbow. With a huge, shit eating smile and a fluttering stomach he hadn't felt since before he had left Earth, he brought the matchlock up to the counter and placed it. "How much is this one?" He asks, his smile highlighting his young features.
  549.
  550.
  551. "Hmm? Oh! Thanks!" he remarks, before skip-hopping into the VIP area. He takes a look around, and calls out "Howdy, y'all!"
  552.
  553. Gary suddenly got a great idea in his head in the middle of the dancing group, remembering some of the King of Pop's moves and tried to replicate them, trying to also get some of the other dancers to follow his lead.
  554.
  555. She blinked, " You're...cousins? With a buffalo? " she couldn't hold back her surprise, " Oh wow, that's...huh. Back on our world, such a thing couldn't happen. " she took a sip of the beer again, trying to suck it up and not be a little bitch about it this time. Then something clicked in the back of her mind. Day drank more. " W-well! He's a cool guy, he deserves that new name of his. " she drank more.
  556.
  557.
  558.
  559. The buffalo looks up at Stray and shrugs. “400 gold. 450 and ill throw in some stuff to get you started.” he looks back down at whatever he was working on.
  560.
  561. The other dancers weren't entirely sure, not knowing the moves and possibly not getting the hint....
  562. [Gary, d20+3+charisma]
  563. Gary,23
  564.
  565. Bones wiggles her eyebrows at Day, then chuckles. “yeah, anything can happen if you try enough times.~” she grins, and laughs a bit, “but yeah, its rare, but it can happen, the child always takes after the mother though.” she nodded watching Day drink and taking a big gulp herself, before putting it down.
  566.
  567. “As for ol Defender? Heh, yeah, hes a good cookie.” she looks Day up and down. “i guess if you know him, you must be that 'Slayer of Giants' hes grown fond of.”
  568.
  569.
  570. As Peyote enters and says hello, he gets a few nods and waves, but this area, while still big and similar to the outside area, is much calmer, probably because not as many are allowed in, and those that are are those expected to be examples for the tribe, or honored guests.
  571.
  572. Suddenly, though, Peyote cant see the sun? Looking up and behind him, a behemoth of a black Buffalo is blocking his light, looking down at him sternly. His headdress and other jewelry would indicate him to be of high rank.
  573.
  574. Then the buffalo smiles. “Hello, im Chief Crusher of Dragons, of the Mossfoot Tribe, you must be one of those 'Hayvenites' right?” he says, holding out a hoof to Peyote.
  575.
  576.
  577. Whether through Equestrias natural magic affinity for these things, or just Garys natural charms, those around him join him in a familiar dance...
  578. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_D3VFfhvs4
  579.
  580.
  581. " Huh? Oh yea. I kept telling them that it wasn't just me. " she nodded to the dancing griffon, " That idiot over there and another stallion helped too and..." it took her a moment to catch up on that last part, " Eh? Fond? Well...thas s'cool, I like the guy too. " Drinking more, the taste stopped mattering.
  582.
  583. Stray's eyes widen in surprise at the price. The buffalo could definitely see Stray had a little sticker shock at the price. After thinking for a couple of moments, and glancing over to the dynamite, he looks to the buffalo again. "Tail Chaser sent me here. He said Creator of Crators could hook me up...?" Stray says, fiddling with the gun in his hooves as he sat on his haunches in front of the counter. "Hm... if I buy a pack of dynamite too, could you knock a little off the price and throw in the other stuff?" The stallion asks with a youthful smile of hope.
  584.
  585. Peyote looks around, and gets the idea he should be a bit calmer. A bit. He lets out a mildly nervous little warble, before turning to look the source of the light block over... he's not sure how to react, but the smile definitely eases things back up! He grins happily, and shakes the buffalo's hoof eagerly "Great t' meet ya, Cheif Crusher of Dragons! I'm Peyote, one 'a th' Hayvenites sent here! It's an honor t' meet ya!"
  586.
  587.
  588. As the dance comes to an end, the crowd cheers and swarms Gary drinks being put in his hand and a plate of food, him getting pat on the back and all that jazz. He had really impressed the drunken crowd!
  589.
  590.
  591. The buffalo looks up and actually suddenly is paying attention to Stray. “Tail Chaser huh? Yeah, im Creator of Craters, nice to meet you I suppose?” he shrugs.
  592.
  593. “tell you what, 450 for the gun, a jar of pre-made shots, and four sticks of dynamite.”
  594.
  595.
  596. As both Day and Bones finish their drinks, Bones orders them another. “Heh, yeah well, some of the older folks are hardasses, or just plain picky. You probably did something else to impress them too, but they wouldn't ever admit to being biased, of course.” she chuckles, shrugging. “yes, fond, fond fond fond....” she says, smirking over her mug as Day.
  597.
  598.
  599. Slayer of Dragons shake is long, and powerful, Peyote lifts off the ground for a moment as hes shook like a rag doll a bit.
  600.
  601. “Please tah meet you Peyote! I look forward to meeting the rest of your friends in an hour or two for dinner! Itll be at the largest tent on the other side of this section! Sadly I have business to attend to, so I cant talk more as of now. Take care good sir!” he says with a nod, and starts to leave.
  602.
  603.
  604. "Deal!" Stray nods with a wide smile and empties his bag of bits onto the counter, counting out 450 bits. "It's a nice gun. I think I can make it better." He says with a lopsided smirk as he slides the pile of bits across the counter to the buffalo. He looked pretty damn happy, his tail swaying from side to side along with his butt. It was like Christmas to the pegasus.
  605.
  606. Gary had kinda zoned out, just letting his body be taken and controlled by whatever power had overtaken him when all of a sudden it stopped and he had a crowd swarming him with drinks and food, cheering for him. It was great getting all the attention, but now his body was tired and he needed a break. Eventually, the gryphon managed to squeeze his way out of the crowd of his new fans, "Thank you all, you were all wonderful!" He raised his new drink as a toast, a plate of food in the other as he kept himself in the air, hovering along the ground. Looking around for a few moments, he was finally able to spot Daybreak and Bone Break sitting at their table and rushed over to them. "Hey y'all, got some free food!" The plate and drink coming down onto their table as he said it, sitting next to the brown and pink mare, starting to dig in, pretty hungry and thirsty all of a sudden.
  607.
  608. Peyote's face is pure shock as he's ragdolled for a little bit, but he quickly recovers and grins widely "Awesome shake!" he hums a little bit, and flicks his tail about "Ah! I must be th' first here, then! Well, I'm lookin' forward t' the big meal later! Seeya then, Chief!" Being the only one here, he decides to take a look at the tents in this cordoned off section!
  609.
  610. " Ahhh...." Day takes a gulp of her new drink, feeling the effects of the last one, " Heeey, how'dju get your name anyway? Who's bones did you break, eh? " Suddenly there was food in front over and a wing around her, " Oi, oi, back off dude, I'm..." she looked up at Gary, " Oohhh yeeeaaa, yooouu..." she giggled, " Heeey~ " then she looked back to Bones to hear what she had to say. After this they might want to see ol' Honors himself.
  611.
  612.
  613. Craters nods, taking the bits, and handing him a jar of 50 pre-made cartridges(its a paper wrapping with gunpowder pre-measured inside, and the lead ball in it too.) aswell as a small little horn full of a bit of extra powder, and three slow burning fuses for the gun.
  614.
  615. “Im sure I could make it better too, but grew bored with making those, went onto other projects.” Crator shrugs. “grab four sticks on your way out, bye.”
  616.
  617.
  618. Bone Breaker chuckles. “oh?~ well, you see, there was a buncha damn bandits running round our Tribes lands so...” she shrugged, smirking as she took a sip, and munched on a roll from the plate, “i broke their bones. A lot of them.”
  619.
  620.
  621. Meanwhile, Peyote would see all sorta of stands. From food to weapons and armor, to knick knacks, however everything here had a look and atmosphere that made his bits bag seems to shudder in fear.
  622.
  623.
  624. Gary stopped eating and drinking like a pig when he noticed the Day was drinking and her speech was off, bending down to give her a little nuzzle, "Hey you, you don't need to get too drunk now. Still gotta tell ya what happened!" He told her concernedly.
  625.
  626. "I'll have to come back sometime and check out your other projects. Thanks!" Stray waves to Crater and departs walking on 3 legs and holding the gun against his shoulder. He gets outside, receives his things back from the guard, and redons his shirt and saddlebags. He picks up the crossbow and immediately unhooks the sling from it, picking the gun up and hooking the sling to the gun's slingholes. He gives the big guard one last smile and a nod before slinging the gun over his shoulder, grabbing the crossbow, stuffing the dynamite & ammo in his bags, and scurrying away to find the others.
  627. He was pretty hungry, and wanted a drink. He went over to where everyone was eating and getting drinks and ordered himself a beer, taking a long few big gulps of it as he turned to the crowd to look for Gary, Day, or Peyote. It was pretty hard to miss a giant fairy-looking griffon nuzzling a little punk mare, and it wasn't long before Stray trotted up to them with a HUGE smile on his face, the musket slung over his back. "Hey y'all!" He says happily, taking another gulp of beer.
  628.
  629. "Hrm... hrm!" he remarks, looking from stall to stall. He searches through the weapons stall, trying to spot anything that'd catch his eyes, before moving a few stalls over. "Hrm... Oh! Dreamcatchers!" he warks out, before hopping over "I'll take two!" he warks happily, before asking "Say... I'm lookin' f'r, like, a book 'r somethin' on wildlife. Ya seen any 'a that nearby? I wanna learn some 'bout TigerWolves.
  630.
  631. Daybreak grinned, " Atta girl, if someone is giv'n you troble, you break all the bones you need! All two hunnderd an' six of em! " she took one last drink of the nasty stuff. Bayou's lesson plans were paying off somehow. She pouted as she was nuzzled, " Fiiine, fiiiine! We need to see ol'honor boy! " she gets up from the table, " Where's his tent? "
  632.
  633. "The Chief? Yeah, I think we do need to pay him 'n his son a visit before we go. Speakin' a which, I'm pretty beat and wanna go clean the cosmo-... er, oil off this thing," he says, nudging the slung matchlock on his back. "And get more beer!" takes another gulp
  634.
  635.
  636. Break Bones chuckles, and gets up herself. “Ill show you, its in the VIP area in the center.” Bones puts herself between Day and Gary, clearly deliberately, Smirking at the big Griffon, as she leads Day and him forward, nodding to Stray too, as it was obvious he was part of the group. “Come, the good stuffs in that area anyways, well, most of it.~”
  637.
  638.
  639. a very well kept and dressed Buffalo nods to Peyote, handing him two well made Dream-catchers. “five gold then sir! Oh, and as for books, should be a few stalls down that way!” he smiles, giving peyote a good nod.
  640.
  641.
  642. Peyote happily hands over the 5 gold in question, and bobs his head in thanks! He slides them into his saddlebags, and departs for the book stall!
  643.
  644. "Oh! Hey there." He says witha sheepish smile, having not realized that Break Bones was with them, though none of them seemed to even notice him coming up. He notices the zebra get between Day and Gary but doesn't think much of it, raising an eyebrow at what 'good stuff' might mean. He follows, hoping that the Chief was liquored up and ready to receive visitors... His eyes lingered on the zebra for a moment, wondering what the hell a zebra was doing here. He suppressed the urge to ask, though, figuring she got asked all the time
  645.
  646. Gary was not at all happy with Bones getting between him and Daybreak, lightly growling at the mare and giving her a glare before he controlled himself and simply huffed, walking forward with the group, speaking up, "So, where'd ya find a gun in Equestria, Stray?" He asked without turning his head.
  647.
  648. Daybreak follows alongside of Bones marching toward the tent. She didn't mind or notice being separated from the griffon, just having a good time and bobbing her head to the music she head.
  649.
  650. "That tent up to the north here." Stray replies to Gary with a smile, "Creator of Crators has a couple of guns, this one was in the best condition though. I got some dynamite from him too!" He exclaims, following the zebra.
  651.
  652. Giggling, she looks to Stray, " Dynamite? Oh, that sounds fuuuun! Big bada boom! "
  653.
  654.
  655. Peyote finds a place with all kinds of big books, all fancy looking and well kept, despite some looking older.
  656.
  657.
  658. For Growling at her,Gary received a swat across the face. “oops, sorry.~” Bones says back, smiling as they approach the guard to the center VIP area. “Ah, Bone Breaker, Slayer of Giants, and I presume the other Hayvenites. Glad you made it.” one guard says, stepping aside to let the group through.
  659.
  660. She leads them past many a stall, at one tossing fours gold bits to a vendor, grabbing herself and Day a potent looking drink, handing the young mare one as she takes a sip of hers. It was an odd, fruity like drink, but not exactly wine.
  661.
  662. As they approach a side tent next to what was clearly the main dining Tent, Bone Breaks turns to the group. “Dinner should be on in just under an hour, but Defender should be in there, probably talking to his other cousins or somethin, but he would be happy to see ya dont worry.”
  663.
  664. She smirks, and looks over at the other tent. “i gotta go though, some things to take care of, nice meeting you Gary, and you especially Day” she says with a wink, and give the little mare a hug before walking off. Day may or may not notice he hair tie is now missing.
  665.
  666.
  667. Peyote happily looks over each and every one of the texts, before humming a little! Of particular interest are Tiger Wolves, but he looks for any kind of Bestiaries!
  668.
  669. "Thanks!" Stray waves to the zebra mare he hadn't met, but turned his attention to the tent in front of them and takes another sip of his beer before opening the tent flap and trotting inside, ahead of Day and Gary.
  670.
  671. Gary rolled his eyes as Bone left, not minding the swat and just headed on in, "This color change is probably about to cause some problems..." The gryphon muttered as he made his way in.
  672.
  673. Daybreak happily waves bye and thanks to Bones, not noticing her loose mane. She drinks some of the stuff given to her and found it to actually be tasty, " It'll be fiiine! Just tell em youre True Heart, remember?Ahaha, my cheeks are numb, want sum? It's goood~" she offers to Gary and Stray. Before they could even grab at the drink, she takes one more gulp of it then gives it to the boys, " Imma go see Honorablebleble. " and starts to head to where Bones said he'd be.
  674.
  675.
  676. Inside would be a familiar brown Buffalo, to Day and Gary at least, surrounded by four other male Buffalo of differing sizes and ages, and one older looking Zebra, but by older like later twenties.
  677.
  678. Rocks, or Defender now was laughing along with them about something, then went back to talking “ So the big ones all like 'well arent you a tough guy, maybe you need to lose another tooth ey?' and I just smirked,” he grins, showing the familiar look of missing teeth they had seen when he was injured. “and spat a loose one into his eye! 'if you want them, then heres a good one!' I said, and oohhh, that pissed him off!” he tapped at his missing horn. “think thats what decided it for him, to take this. Dont worry though, I plan to get it back some day.” he laughs, and gets berated by questions from his cousins.
  679.
  680. As he sees Stray, he raises an eyebrow, and narrows his eyes as Gary enters.
  681. But once Day wobbles in, he lights up, but then looks between Day and Gary, then blinks in surprise.
  682.
  683. “wait, GARY?! What the hell happened to you!?” he says, and quickly turns to his cousins. “sorry fellas, ill talk to you later, I gotta see whats going on with old white wings and Day.” his younger cousins complain, but get ushered out by the older ones. Getting up, he would walk with a pretty obvious limp to the two familiar and one unfamiliar face.
  684.
  685. “Glad to see both of you, but my lord, you look different Gary.” he nods to Stray. “dont believe we have met. Im Ro-” he sighs, looking to the side. “...im Defender of Honor.....”
  686.
  687.
  688. Peyote would find a book about local animals and plants of the hilly plains!
  689.
  690.
  691. Peyote chirps happily, and looks up to the vendor "How much for this one?" he asks, before looking to the newcomers to the VIP area, and waving "Oh! Hey guys, good t' see ya! There's more cool stuff in here, an' I learned 'bout some kinda Tiger Wolf from an old buffalo! I wanna catch one!" he warks
  692.
  693. Stepping up to Honor with a smile, Gary gave the buffalo a light pat on the shoulder, trying to be as considerate of his injuries as he could, "Well, it took me telling others for them to know it was me, but you got it first try! Oh, and good to hear you went and finally accepted that name of yours that you earned!" He waved a hand, trying to act all dismissive though when he answered Honor's question, "And this? Went and did some trial of the mind and something about a star soul, it was no biggy," A wing stretched out, showing the black feathers closer to his body, "But what's a bit cooler is these things light up like the starry night sky at, well, night!"
  694.
  695. Day giggled when she saw all the family of Buffalo and zebra together conversing. She heard Peyo and snorted, " Wolf tiger? Pfft, first a cat and a bird, now a wolf and a tiger? Whas nex' a unicorn and a drag'n? " When Defender made his way over she grinned brightly and tilted her head, " Hiiii~! hic " holding up her slightly swaying hoof for a hoof bump, " Congradulaleshuns dude! " while she held her hoof up, she caught a glimpse at Gray's wings and made an 'oooo' sound.
  696.
  697. "Y-Yeah, maybe! I wanna catch one though, f'r reals! I jus' don't think there'll be any herewith th' event goin' on..." he shrugs a little, before getting some bits ready to pay for the book
  698.
  699. Stray Shot trots in slowly, observing the scene before him. The pegasus noticed Defender's missing horn as he was telling his story, though he wasn't able to catch enough of the story to make sense. He notices him raise an eyebrow, but gives him a polite, innocent-looking smile. He is surprised to see him rush over to Gary and Day. He had heard about the incident with the buffalo, but it sounded like there was more intrigue than the summary Stray received led on.
  700. When Defender addresses Stray, he meets his hoof with his own, shaking it firmly. "No sir, we haven't. It's nice to meet you, Defender. Thanks for invitin' us! Oh and uh, congratulations on earning your name." He says in a friendly tone. "This place is awesome. I think I like you folks better than the Equestrians!" He sayys before sideglancing to the tipsy Daybreak with a snicker
  701.
  702.
  703. “id say...10gold sir Griffon.” the Vendor would say to Peyote, who im gonna assume paid for it and followed the others to the tent, but who may say otherwise of course.
  704.
  705.
  706. Defender shrugs at Gary. “I didn't have much of a choice honestly, but even if I dont feel ive earned, it, just means I get to try now ti li do, eh?” he smirks, giving the Griffon a friendly elbow poke. “glad to hear your moving up and...doing whatever you do to get those neat feathers!” he chuckles.
  707.
  708. He hoofbumps Day, but she seems almost about ot fall over from it, so quickly-ish hobbles to her side to help her stay up, leading her to a cushion seat nearby. “woo Day, you alright? I guess you folks hit the food stands on the way over haha!”
  709.
  710. he gives Stray a big Grin. “Well, thats certainly a complement, thanks!”
  711.
  712.
  713. Peyote happily pays and hurries on over to join the group. His ears perk up and he cocks his head to the side, before taking a seat with everyone else "You were dancing? That woulda been a sight t' see, f'r sure! Not knowing why ya did it is odd, though... Were ya good at it, at least?"
  714.
  715. "Yeah, we met this zebra and she got Day here drunk, her name was Bone Break is ya know her," Gary explained walking over to sit next to Daybreak and gesturing for Stray Shot to follow, "I left Day with her for a bit while I... Did something? It was like I couldn't control my body and I was dancing and there were these other buffalo dancing to..." He simply just trailed off, trying to make sense of what had happened.
  716.
  717.
  718. "Sounds like y'all had a helluva adventure last time y'all met." Stray says, sitting on his haunches where he was standing and taking a gulp of his beer
  719.
  720. She plops down on the cushion, " Nah, nah I'm fiiine, jus...just gimme a minute. " she laughed, " Yea, Bone Breaker...wait..." then something in her mind became funny as hell to her. Something about the names of hers and the zebra. " Sorry, sorry...! So how...how you been Mister Defeeender~? " she teased a bit to the young buffalo. " I know what happ'n sucks, but battle scars ar preeettty cool. " she pointed a hoof toward his missing horn.
  721.
  722.
  723.
  724. Defender laughs, raising an eyebrow to Gary. “you sure Days the only one drinking hard Gary?” he then looks off to the side a bit. “ah yeah, Bone Breaker...yeah, shes my cousin. As my grandma says, 'swing for both sides, cause trouble for both sides' fits best to describe her.” he says, blushing very slightly.
  725.
  726.
  727. Defender chuckled at Day, a bigger blush coming to him as he rubbed the back of his head. “im good, getting better, leg isnt fully healed yet, but it will in time....” he shrugged. “oh, by the way Day, you look way different with your hair down, haha.” he says, teasing back a bit.
  728.
  729. He nods to Peyote. “oh, hello to you too.”
  730.
  731.
  732. "H-Hiya! I dunno if we've met. M' name's Peyote, 's good t' meet ya!" he warks, before offering a claw to shake "So, what gave ya those nasty injuries? I'm sorta outta th' loop."
  733.
  734. "I just.. don't know? There was this song from Earth stuck in my head and my body just moved to it on it's own!" Gary shrugged his wings, looking at the buffalo as if he'd have an answer, but rolled his eyes when he saw the blush he gave to Daybreak. Just let it go, Gary...
  735.
  736. "What song was it? I'm kinda curious."
  737.
  738. Stray snickers at his grandma's saying. He didn't know that species interbred with each other in the Equestrian world. In fact, it didn't really occur to him until just now that there were lotsa griffon/pony couples in Outer Hayven, including one he was with right now. He sits on his haunches near the group, sipping on his beer and listening to the friends reminisce
  739.
  740. "It was Smooth Criminal actually..." Gary told Peyote, laughing a bit.
  741.
  742. "Pfffft..."
  743. "You kinda look like Michael Jackson, now that you mention it."
  744.
  745. Peyote snickers a little bit, trying to imagine a bunch of quadrupeds dancing to the song "W-Well... damn, now I wish I hadn't missed it. That sounds like a sight!"
  746.
  747. "Ehhhh? My hairs s'not..." she reaches her hoof and pulls some of her mane offer her shoulder, "...I bet it was them squirrels! " she growled, then hiccuped. She leans back on her forelegs lazily and starts telling the story to Peyo for Defender the beat she can in this state, " Well ya sees, me n Gary n Defender 'ere were out sphhhulkin an' we foun' out there were these treashure bandits..." she goes on to tell them in a slurred voice about how the young buffalo stood his ground while he was tortured, and she and Gary were off lost in the cave trying to get back.
  748.
  749.
  750. Gary snickered at the thought of looking like Michael Jackson, thinking there was no way he did, but quickly placed a hand on Day's back to help steady her when he saw she was getting wobbly and slurred, "Day, you tell me not to drink and then you go and get like this..."
  751.
  752. "Woah... damn, that's pretty dang cool 'a y'all!" he half-shouts, gesturing to the trio "That musta taken a lotta guts, Mister Defender!"
  753.
  754. Stray's eyes widen a bit as Day goes on about the tale in her slurred tone, the buffalo's injuries suddenly making a lot more sense. He sideglanced over to Gary steadying and worrying over Daybreak. "You let her make you not drink? That's crazy..."
  755.
  756. "Well, I'm not the best person to be around when I'm drunk, so..." Gary just gave him a wing shrug
  757.
  758. Stray briefly wondered if Gary must've been one of those angry drunk types, or god forbid the crying ones, before looking to Defender again.
  759.
  760. She shoves Gary, " I said I'm fiiiine, I can hannle it! 'Sides 'mnot drinkin no more..." then she remembered she left her sweet drink with them, " Ey wait, where is my drink? "
  761.
  762. Gary slid the drink behind him
  763.
  764. "I don't drink that shit," Stray snickers, taking another gulp of his own.
  765.
  766. Defender blushes a bit, and shrugs. “i just did my best. We still lost in the end though.” he sighs, but chuckles.
  767.
  768. “Well though! Dinner should just about be ready! Come, we can talk more once were seated, ill lead the way!” he gets up, and despite his leg, goes to help Day himself, pointing to the side where there was a cover leading directly to the dining tent.
  769.
  770.
  771. After letting everyone get themselves ready, Defender leads the four humans into the massive tent next door, where they are met with lowdown(for buffalo) tables and big, elegant cushion seats around the long, rectangular table,s where already many a plethora of food had been set out, as Buffalo and even a small amount of Zebras were already taking seats.
  772.
  773. Leading them forward, Defender wasrted walking up to the head of the largest, where Five much larger and more decorotive places were set, and waved a hoof to five seats near that Area. “please, sit, but dont eat til dunner is announced.” he says with a smile.
  774.
  775.
  776. Gary simply gave Defender a nod and a smile, moving to sit himself down in one of the obvious places of importance. Something in him let him feel great at the attention of getting to sit in an obviously prestigious place, "Hey, no worries, but I can't wait to eat. Built up and appetite out there but still didn't eat too much!"
  777.
  778. Stray Shot follows Defender with the group, reaching the tables that seemed short for a buffalo but nearly up to Stray's collarbone. His eyes scan the table, casually glancing at those gathered, before nodding to Defender with a polite smile. "Yes sir," he said in an even tone, the significance of being invited to a dinner like this not lost on him. He goes and sits in front of the table, on his haunches, next to Gary and the rest of the group.
  779.
  780. Daybreak swayed over to the table giggling to herself about nonsensical matters then plopped down. She almost reached for a piece of fruit, but pulled her hoof back with a huff when told to wait. She looked at the cup, more of that alcoholic fruit juice? Could she drink now? No, wait, she said she would stop....but maybe one sip when they were done speaking.
  781.
  782. Peyote joins the group at the big table, letting out an excited little chuckle as he he seats himself and looks around "Damn, man. Y'all know how t' make a display!" he offers, before takijg his talons away from that tasty-looking spread. He doesn't see any meat... but he's an omnivore, he'll be fine! He looks over towards Stray, before smiling a little wider "So? What'd ya find? I woulda followed, but... I-I got lost, then distracted."
  783.
  784. Stray had totally left his new purchase from the fair resting against the corner of the tent! It was well out of the way and hidden behind a table. He didn't want to draw any more attention to himself than his mere presence probably already was. He takes another gulp of the beer he had brought in, glancing around the tent from where he sat, looking to see if there was another keg or something nearby to refill. He's snapped from his search when he looks to Peyote, smiling wide. "Oh! I found a matchlock musket. It reminded me of a Mosin I had back home, and I couldn't resist..." He spergs out to the birb, before looking to Defender again.
  785.
  786. [d20+perception]
  787. Stray, 10
  788. Gary, 12
  789. Day,6
  790. Peyote, 19
  791.
  792. "A matchlock? Hoo, damn, nice! I'm glad ya managed t' find a gun then, Stray!" he warks, before looking to his own glass. What could be inside? "I never had a mosin, but I'd been mullin' over gettin' one."
  793.
  794. Suddenly very interested in the conversation, Gary turned away form the assorted foods to pay more attention to the conversation about firearms happening, "Loading that not gonna be a problem with hooves?" He questioned doubtfully.
  795.
  796. "Hopefully not... damn, hooves must be really inconvenient. I'm glad I got talons." he remarks, turning around a little to smile at Gary
  797.
  798.
  799. As they get settled, Defender takes the spot furthest forward of the positions, next to Day, then Gary next, then Stray, then Peyote.
  800.
  801. They watch as the crowd of clearly higher ranked and important Buffalo, and a few zebra of course.
  802.
  803. However as the tables slowly fill, minus the five places at the head next to them, Stray and Gary feel something is...off, something possibly familiar, but they cant quite make it out.
  804.
  805. Peyote, for better or worse, catches it easily. The Zebras were getting many a disgusted and odd look, not from all, but from a good chunk of other gusts, many whispering to eachother as they pass or sit down.
  806.
  807. Days vision goes blurry for a moment but it corrects itself in a moment.
  808.
  809. As Defender finishes talking to one of his cousins, he turns to the others. “hm? Oh, sorry, you can go ahead and drink all you want, just dont touch the food until....”
  810.
  811. And suddenly a long, loud horn was blown, drawing everyone's attention to the front of the tent.
  812.
  813. “MAY ALL GUESTS PLEASE BE SEATED AND QUITE.” a large Buffalo guard booms out, and stares across the crowd ad people hush down and get ot their seats.
  814.
  815. “WE WILL NOW INTRODUCE OUR FIVE CHIEFS OF OUR GREAT TRIBES, ANY DISRESPECT WILL BE MET HARSHLY!” he booms out again, and goes to open the flap to the tent...
  816.
  817.
  818. Gary suddenly turned around sharply, intent to head the words that came from the guard as to not be punished, although he did make sure to move any alcoholic seeming drinks away from Daybreak at Defender's words.
  819.
  820. Stray just nods at Peyote, glad that no one was aware of what Lone Star had given him yet. "Well you sure as hell missed your chance," he says with a smirk to Peyote. "That got fucked with those sanctions back before we ended up here. But hey... maybe you'll find one when we find a way back to Earth." He says, his smile turning soft as his ears flicker, hearing Gary and turning his head to him. "Well the buffalos do it," He replies with a shrug, "I got 50 preloaded paper cartridges and a ramrod, and I can always load mo-" Stray cuts off and snaps his vision away from Gary to the front of the tent when he hears the horn go off. He obeys immediately, shutting the fuck up. He noticed something at the table seemed... off, but he couldn't tell what it was for the moment. His big ol' blue eyes fixate on Defender, listening intently.
  821.
  822. Daybreak stared at her food as the boys talked about guns and such. Her eyes turn up to look at the others around the area, curious as to what they were all doing. That zebra had a nice outfit on, and that one buffalo had some cute beads. Then her mind drifted to which one of these fellas she could take on in a fight. The buffalo were big, so she'd probably aim for the legs and.... The mare jolted and nearly fell out of her seat when the horn was blown. Quickly she stumbled her way back up, grumbling about loud horns. She reached for the drink then saw Gary scoot it away. She stuck her tongue out at him then turned toward the speaker to listen.
  823.
  824. Peyote bobs his head as he listens to Stray Shot, before looking over towards the Zebras. He twists his face in confusion, before leaning closer to the others and murmuring "They don't seem fond of the zebras, I'd say. Lotsa angry murmurin's an nasty looks. Any idea what might be th' source 'a that?" he asks, before going quite at the large buffalo's request and bendinh back up to look
  825.
  826.
  827. as the crowd finally settles, the introductions start.
  828. “CHEIF BREAK NECKS, OUR HUMBLE HOST, OF THE DEAD PLAINS TRIBE, AND HIS WIFE, SLAYER OF SHADOWS.” theres some nods of respect as Break Necks, the massive light Brown Chief comes in with full headdress, his Wife, a small, but well built dark brown beauty, an eyepatch over her left ye and a massive scar over her back, but a smirk at made you think the other guy had worse.
  829.
  830. They take the left most seat next to his son Defender, his wife going over to head one of the five smaller tables after giving her husband a peck and ruffling her sons hair, who blushes deeply, grinning at the group with a look pleading them not to say anything.
  831.
  832.
  833. Gary bowed his head slightly, nodding to Chief Break Necks when the buffalo came in and sat down. He'd met him and his wife Slayer of Shadows before and they seemed like good people.
  834.
  835. Peyote gives a polite headbob, and manages to force his grin away before Defender sees it
  836.
  837. Had Day not been in the current state she was in, something in the back of her mind would have her take her new journal out and start writing down these tribes that were being called. But instead she has a goofy smile on her face, giving a small wave to the Break Neck family. She totally knows that guy!
  838.
  839. Stray Shot politely smiles and bows his head slightly to Defender's wife.
  840.
  841.
  842.
  843.
  844. Giving the crowd time to nod and say their greetings as the two passed, aswell as give them time to settle, the Guard pipes back up.
  845.
  846. “INTRODUCING CHIEF SLAYER OF DRAGONS, OF THE MOSSFOOT TRIBE, AND HIS WIFE, RIVER BUILDER.”
  847.
  848. a massive, the biggest any of them had seen. Black buffalo enters, easily a good foot bigger then even Breaks Necks, his smile kind though as he nods to the crowd. Next to him was a slender, for a buffalo, decently sized light brown lady, her frame showing a much less active or dangerous lifestyle, her dress flowing like blue streams behind her as she smiled kindly to the crowd, her blue eyes sparkling. No, literally sparkling a bit, like they were dotted with glitter.
  849.
  850. They move through the crowd, Slayer taking the spot furthest from the humans of the humans, his wife giggling and blushing as he whispers something to her, before she hugs two female buffalo across from Stray, both light brown, presumably her daughters, before going off to take the head of one of the smaller tables herself.
  851.
  852.
  853. Gary was wondering where the hell they were fitting these buffalo if they were all going to be this size.
  854.
  855. The griffon bobs his head in greeting to the next entrant, craning his neck a little as he approaches. Goodness gracious, what a big dude! He offers a polite little nod to the she-buffalo too, his eyes catching a little on the sparkling dress in a rather bird-like fashion
  856.
  857. Stray Shot's eyes widen a bit at the humongous new buffalo and his wife, noticing the differences in the buffalos' physiques. Not staring, he still sees the mother hug her daughters. This was definitely a tribe.
  858.
  859. Day sways a little as she watches. That guy was awfully big to have such a small wife. She started to wonder how they--OOOO! Did her eyes just sparkle? Day wondered if the two should have a glittering eye staring contest.
  860.
  861.
  862. Stamping a hoof to get the crowd to settle, the Guard continues.
  863.
  864. “INTRODUCING CHEIFESS STONE LORD, OF THE GORGE TRIBE, AND HER RECENT HUSBAND, LORD PLATINUM CHIP.” As they watch, a smaller then average, but well built blackish-brown Female Buffalo enter, one horn missing and replaced with a long, golden spike, her headdress almost more like a helmet, her dress looking semi-practical as leather armor, though still the design and craftsmanship was superb. The look on her face as she held her head high was one of defensive pride, as her husband entered...and was this a shock.
  865.
  866. It was a Unicorn, an Equestrian Unicorn! The stallion was tall, for his species, but this still made him shorter then his wife, his silvery grey coat mostly hidden by a well made tux, he mane short and white, as he too held his head up high in pride, standing firmly next to his wife.
  867.
  868. The two made their way to their seats, getting good treatment, but the humans couldn't help but notices a few buffalo get escorted out after whispering something, presumably something they shouldn't. As if to piss off those who didn't agree, Stone pulls her husband into a deep, long kiss before taking her seat next to Break Necks, who has the cheekiest, most proving grin on his face, while Slayer of Dragons just rolls his eyes.
  869.
  870. With a deep blush, Platinum nods to the humans, clearly knowing who they were, and fixes his bowtie, going over to the head of his own secondary table.
  871.
  872.
  873.
  874. Stray Shot forces himself to pokerface when the Equestrian unicorn walks in to keep himself from looking totally bewildered. Apparently there was intermarrying of buffalos and Equestrians, which he found surprising. He noticed hushed chatter as the Equestrian passed the table he was sitting at with the buffalos and goes over to the other table, also noticing the defensive-looking wife. He guessed there were some racial tensions, just a hunch. His expression, however, remains neutral, as he looks to the announcer again.
  875.
  876. Gary actually blanched at that. How the hell did an Equestrian unicorn? manage to woo one of the Chiefs of a buffalo tribe? The gryphon just decided to shrug and return the nod to the unicorn, not wanting to seem rude. He did however look back to see the other buffalo being taken away. Guess they didn't support inter-species relations.
  877.
  878. Recent husband, huh? Day wondered what happened to the other one. Or ones. Him being a unicorn was surprising to her as well, especially when they practically made out right there. She wanted to shout out a 'woo!' but the stern looks on some of these faces told her not to.
  879.
  880.
  881. With a stern look over the crowd to calm it down, the Guard continued.
  882. “INTRODUCING RECENTLY APPOINTED CHIEF PEACE MAKER, OF THE DRYLANDS TRIBE.” A much younger looking brown Buffalo enters. One leg being a well crafted clockwork replacement, both horns replaced with disturbing looking silver spikes, a deep scar on his left eye, which looked unusable, and a few scars across the rest of him. He was perhaps big for his age, but his age still made him dwarfed by the older of the group.
  883.
  884. He nodded firmly to the group, either a smile nor frown as he went and took a seat next to Slayer, getting many a respectful nods, and the humans could even over hear a few saying condolences about his father, and maybe a few other things of a different nature from some of the females....
  885.
  886. Stray immediately could tell that Peace Maker had seen quite a bit of action in his young lifetime. He bows his head to him slightly as well, making sure not to stare at anyone in particular for too long. He heard the condolences, making Stray Shot's ears droop slightly.
  887.
  888. Peace Maker? Looking over the buffalo with a bit of concern on his face, Gary wasn't too sure how the buffalo managed to get that name. Looking at his leg though did remind him of Ruin and how he was doing with that peg leg. Maybe he could tell the unicorn that there were prosthetics like that out there.
  889.
  890. Day started to wonder what kind of fights all these tribes got into. These injuries were pretty extensive and everywhere on these folks. Who were they fighting and why? Land? Territory? Maybe more artifacts like with Defender. Gears were turning in the mare's mind.
  891.
  892. Peyote blinks once or twice at the sudden appearance of a unicorn at the event. He grins and chokes a chuckle as he watches her kiss the stallion to fan the salty flames, before bobbing his head in greeting to the both of them The arrival of the heavily-scarred, young buffalo surprises Peyote a little. Either the buffalo'd seen a lot of action, or... he wasn't very lucky. Either way, he nodded in greeting to the newly-arrived chief, before giving him a polite little smile
  893.
  894.
  895. Stomping again, the guard speaks out.
  896. “LASTLY, BUT WITH NO LESS RESPECT, CHEIFESS TREE TAMER, OF THE REDWOOD TRIBE, AND HER HUSBAND, BOULDER OF THE GODS.”
  897. In entered a Zerba mare, well built, but her size as you would expect from her species, as she smirked at the crowd, already a few being dragged out from the event. She wore leather ceremonial armor, the style a mix of zebra jungle tribes and buffalo nomadic styles. Next to her, a younger, Grey Buffalo entered, built like his name would imply, but also of average size, also in similar armor.
  898.
  899. The two walked down, receiving many a nod and greetings, before stopping across from Day where Bone Breaker now sat, having slipped up and in from under the tables recently, who gave her mother and father a hug, before winking at Day.
  900.
  901. Tree sat in the middle of the five Chiefs, her husband going off to head his own side table, as she idly sipped on her drink, ignoring any negative attention they might have gotten.
  902.
  903. Peyote waits patiently for the last of the chieftens to arrive, and bows his head politely as the last couple enters. He's less surprised by the zebra than he was by the unicorn, having seen a few wandering around the event. He looks over her armor curiously, stroking at the underside of his beak as he smiles a little. He'd comment on the nice-looking design, but now isn't the time for talkies! As she joins them at the table, though, he offers a little wave in greeting
  904.
  905. Gary wasn't all too surprised to see that there was a zebra in a major position of one of the buffalo tribes. This must be the sister of chief Break Necks if she was the mother of Bone Breaker.
  906.
  907. How the hell do you tame trees? Stray wonders to himself, though his expression doesn't give away what might be a less-than-respectful first impression of their Cheifess. At this point, he wasn't particularly surprised to see that she was a zebra. He glanced over towards Gary and Day, noticing that they seemed to be more familiar with some of those higher-up buffalos, likely from their previous encounter with Defender retrieving whatever it was the buffalos considered important. He couldn't help but feel a little out of place.
  908.
  909. Day raised an eyebrow and tilted her head at the zebra from coming from under the table? What was she doing down there? Though when Bone winked she grinned and waved back at her.
  910.
  911.
  912. With that, another loud horn is blown.
  913. “LASTLY, BEFORE THE FEAST OF THE TRIBES BEGINS, WE WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE OUR HONORED GUEST, HUMANS FROM THE TOWN OF OUTER HAYVEN, WHO HAVE AIDED THE DEAD PLAINS TRIBE SELFLESSLY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS!”
  914.
  915. With that the guard points towards our group of Hayvenites, and all eyes turn on them, but thankfully the reception is warm, many cheers and clapping of hooves.
  916.
  917. “WITH THAT....MAY THE FEST BEGIN!”
  918. The horn was blown again, and the room erupted into noise and movement as people darted for food and drink, and started up conversations they had been holding back for minutes now.
  919.
  920. Peyote beams happily at the mention of their group, ruffling his wings a little bit and offering a little wave, before looking towards the feast. With the horn blown, the griffon happily begins to place things on to his plate, and sip from his cup "Well, it's good t' meet y'all!" he gestures towards the assembled tribe leaders "M' name's Peyote! It's an honor t' meet all 'a y'all."
  921.
  922. Stray Shot felt even more out of place now, receiving appreciation for something he had nothing to do with among buffalos he had never met before... He stared at the strangers giving the warm reception with blank eyes and a slightly slack jaw, not quite sure how to respond. He forces himself to smile awkwardly at the tribesmen before breaking eye contact and turning back to face his drink on the table. His expression dims for a moment, before he gets up and makes his way over to where the food was. He grabs a plate with his hoof and starts serving himself from what he assumed was some sort of buffet, taking a little bit of everything. He didn't feel particularly hungry, but he figured he could take some home for later maybe.
  923.
  924.
  925.
  926.
  927. Gary sighed, glad that the tension in the air was gone and they could get back to normal conversation without risk of being tossed out. The gryphon took one of the drinks and tasted it, making sure it wasn't alcoholic before passing it to Daybreak, because she was already plastered after just a little bit of drinking. Besides that though, he began digging into the food, aiming more for the breads, but Peyote's introduction made him stop briefly thinking he should probably do the same, "Gary Oak here, it's good to meet the chief's of the other tribes. The only ones I knew about were the buffalo out here and the tribe out by Appleoosa."
  928.
  929. Daybreak waves excitedly when they were called out, her drunkenness coming down as she started to sober up. Though the loud horn blow threw her off her seat again, making her want to hit something in anger. She stuffed some food into her mouth. Oh, we're they introducing thenselves? " Daybreak, giant slayer, you all sound like pretty badass folks to me. " then she went back to eating.
  930.
  931.
  932. As they all introduce themselves, Break Necks nods, but narrows his eyes at Gary, until Defender quickly whispers something into his eye, to which he looks Gary over carefully, then blinks in Surprise.
  933.
  934. “Oh! Gary! Slayer! So glad you came, and hello to you Peyote, glad to meet you!” He laughs, nodding.
  935.
  936. Stone Lord smiles at the humans. “Oh? So your the humans we have heard of? Well....certainly expected different, but this is pleasant aswell.” she says, looking them over carefully.
  937.
  938. “hm, you dont look like much actually.” Peace Maker says sternly, but shrugs “but perhaps you'll prove me wrong come the Ceremony of Bruises.”
  939.
  940.
  941. Stray Shot grabs a fresh beer in a bigger mug, holding it in his hoof with his plate of food on his back as he heads back over to the table. He generally avoids eye contact with the buffalos/zebras that might be sitting near him as he goes back to where he was sitting before, unceremoniously dropping his plate of food on the table and making some rice fall off the edge of plate. He plops onto his haunches and rears his head back, gulping down a good bit of the beer. He was glad it was an open bar, cause he was starting to feel like he needed more drinks.
  942.
  943. Peyote chuckles a little and shrugs, before taking another gulp of his drink and stopping to tear into his meal some. "Well, can't say I blame ya. Humans sound awfully different, so th' fact that we don't look, ahm, different, is probably surprisin'... wait, a Ceremony of Bruises?" the griffon asks, cocking his head to the side curiously "What's this? Some sorta fight?" he asks Peace Maker. He sets his food and drink aside for now, eager to hear the response
  944.
  945. Day lit up, " Ceremony of bruises? That sounds like...fun! Please tell me it is what I think it is and I can put my hooves to use? " she bounces eagerly in her seat.
  946.
  947. Gary actually grinned at Peace Maker's words, "Oh, so are we going to have a fighting competition or something? This just got a lot more interesting!" The gryphon laughed, thinking nothing that exciting would actually be happening here.
  948.
  949. Stray Shot finishes chewing some rice and swallows, and then forces himself to smile to Peace Maker and the other 'higher ups'. "Nice to meet y'all, too. I'm Stray Shot." He says, totally out of timing.
  950. "It's an honor to be invited to something like this."
  951. Stray takes another gulp of beer and another bite of his food.
  952.
  953. “Its an honor to have you!” Slayer pipes up with a nod, giving Stray a smile.
  954.
  955. “Indeed.” Stone adds in with a nod.
  956.
  957. Tree and Peace just share a look, but Peace goes to answer the questions. “Every Festival, we have three ceremonies before we update our history for the year upon the stones.”
  958.
  959. he clears his throat, setting down his drink.
  960. “The Ceremony of Bruises, where all willing go into the ring for a large, massive brawl, note though, everyone must wear a weight vest weighing half their own, no weapons and no flying allowed. “ he says, giving a stern look to the Griffons.
  961.
  962. “The Ceremony of Spirit is Next, where those willing step into the tent of the Ancestors, and meditate. The last one to leave is crowned the chosen by those past.”
  963.
  964. “Last, is the Ceremony of Strength, where teams pull new stones to the center of the Festival, so we might then use them for recording.”
  965.
  966. He looked up at them “of course, the winners or each will receive honor, and rewards...”
  967.
  968.
  969. Stray Shot listens, taking a bite of his food. He didn't know they were supposed to be doing athletic competition...
  970.
  971. Gary continued to dig into his food consisting mostly of breads and rice, "So, do we move in and do that immediately after we've all eaten?" He asked after stuffing his face and washing it down with more of his drink
  972.
  973. Daybreak stood up from her seat, half way sober, " I am totally all over that! Bring it! " then she remembered where she was and sheepishly sat back down, " ...er...I mean...yea, sounds cool! Eheh! " bread was shoved into her mouth and she looked to them all, " I have to ask, if you don't mind, how did you all get those scars? What kind of battles have you been in? "
  974. Peyote shrugs a little bit, before ruffling his wings. Unlike little Daybreak, he's completely sober~ "No need t' worry 'bout me usin' wings, It'd keep me from gettin' close an' personal." he remarks, before wiggling his talons "So, a vest weight half what I do? Alright... lookin' forward to that one!~" he warks excitedly, before bobbing his head "The others sound great too! Regardless of what happens, I'm happy t' compete in all three! If you'll have me, of course."
  975.
  976. "I... really don't think I can do all that after stuffing my face."
  977. "Although, if everyone else is gonna be drunk and fat too..."
  978.
  979. "C'mon, Stray! Don't bow outta it now! Ya gotta get into th' whole thing, yeah? That's part 'a th' event, just like feastin'!" he remarks, getting back to the feasting himself
  980.
  981.
  982. Chiefess Stone Lord chuckled, patting her missing horn. “dont charge golems, is all ill say on that.”
  983.
  984. Break Necks, laughed, looking over to Stray. “no one will force you to my friend, there is a sense of honor in knowing ones limits afterall!”
  985.
  986. “But greater in overcoming them!” Slayer says with a firm nod.
  987.
  988. Defender leans over to Gary. “yeah, right after this, why you think im gauging what and how much I eat, eh?” he said with a smirk.
  989.
  990. Peace Maker just stared at Day. “A few Diamond Dog packs made an alliance and started pushing into our lands.” he takes a drink, not breaking eye contact with her. “I did what had to be done.”
  991.
  992. everyone does quite at that for a bit, til Break Necks clears his throat. “Yes, well, Peace Maker was able to draw up plenty of suppose among us, and the problem has been solved.”
  993.
  994. Tree Tamer nods. “indeed. So, Humans, what can you tell us about yourselves?” she suggests to try and change the topic.
  995.
  996. Meanwhile, Day would hear whispering. “psst, psst, Day, Day!” looking over Bone Breaker was waving at her a bit.
  997.
  998.
  999.
1000. Stray Shot flickers his ears, listening to Break Neck and nodding, but a smirk comes to his face when he hears Slayer. "Okay fine, I'll need s'more beer first though!" He says with a laugh, swiping his mug in his hoof and taking a deep drink from it.
1001. Stray looks to Tree Tamer after he puts his beer down, blinking for a moment, averting from looking at Peace Maker. Hearing the thing about the Diamond Dogs made Stray start to have questions pop up in his mind. "Uh... Well, we're from a planet called Earth. We used to look kinda like a monkey, but taller, and not nearly as hairy. And a mop of fur on top of the head." He says matter of factly before taking another gulp.
  1002.
1003. Peyote bobs his head slowly towards Peace Maker. He'd comment, but feels a silent response would work best. He turns to Tree Tamer, before catching on and flashing a grin "Right! Well, I'm a critter wrangler! I work with m' buddy, Whiskeyjack, t' hunt an' wrangle animals. We're trainin' some pterodactyls right now, actually... I gotta admit, these Tiger Wolves I heard 'bout sound pretty interestin'." he smiles a little wider, before continuing "Of th' two of us, I'm th' one t' get close an' personal more. I'm pretty darn good with my fists. While I had t' relearn how t' use my new body, 8'r so years 'a martial arts left me with plenty 'a foundation, so it's just adaptin' a lotta it t' my new body. I'm a pretty darn good grappler too, which is how I catch a lotta th' critters I wrangle. I'm more'f a wrestler than a wrangler, but I'm not bad at breakin' an' trainin' animals either."
  1004.
1005. "R-Right, yeah. We used t' be bipeds, more 'r less. Sorta like a monkey, but less'f a hunchback. Larger, an' built f'r walkin'. Sorta like... well, actually. We're closer t' minotaurs, jus' not hairy, 'r that big either."(edited)
  1006.
1007. "It's kinda funny, since where we come from, minotaurs are mythical creatures. Now it looks like we're the ones that ain't quite real."
  1008.
1009. Daybreak chuckled back at the mention of golems and was in awe over all the adventures they had and how they bared through it. She had stared back at Peace marker and nodded. That must have been tough for him. As she was about to speak, Bone caught her attention with her whispering, " Hm? Yo, wass up Breaker? " she leaned forward with attentive ears.
  1010.
1011. After hearing what Defender said, Gary looked down at his own plate and decided it'd probably be more than wise to watch how much he was eating too. Setting down the warm loaf of bread in his hand, he turned to address Tree Tamer, "Well, without going into long, drawn out stories and explanations about what's been going on since I got here, I guess I can just tell a bit about myself. I was a human before and through..." The gryphon closed his eyes and let out a long sigh for a moment before continuing on in a slightly less enthusiastic tone, "Certain circumstances, I wound up here." "Spent some time moving around Equestria before deciding to head to Outer Hayven," Gary decided he was probably droning on and thought he'd just summarize it, "Became a guard cause I wanted to join my country's military back home, made new friends, met Daybreak here," He gave the mare a nudge and a smile, "And have settled in pretty well I'd say."
  1012.
1013. Stray Shot listens to Peyote and Gary. His ears folded back, particularly at Gary's explanation. He'd heard that griffon sound hell-bent on going back home, but here he looked pretty happy, having settled in a lot better than Stray had. He felt frustrated with himself for a brief moment, realizing he hadn't really grown close to any of the few friends he did have. Silently listening to the chatter, the pegasus stared down at his beer.
  1014.
  1015.
  1016.
  1017.
1018. Tree Tamer just nods along. “hmm, interesting.” she says with a smile.
  1019.
1020. “Indeed!” Slayer says, raising a mug up! “TO THE HUMANS, MAY THEY FIND THEIR PLACE IN OUR WORLD!” he yells out, getting many a cheer and raised mug from around the room ,before he tips back and downs his drink.
  1021.
1022. Defender nodded to his human companions. “well, uhh, sounds like things were pretty different on earth, cant imagine its been easy, but I do hope you all the best.”
  1023.
  1024.
1025. Meanwhile, Bone wiggles her eyebrows at Day, and holds up a familiar looking hair tie to the smaller mare. “you dropped this earlier Day, why dont you come get it?~.”
  1026.
  1027.
1028. Day nudged Gary back playfully then blinked and touched her mane again. How the hell did it fall out? She was gonna need a new one if it was that flimsy. She nodded to the zebra mare then looked between everyone. They seem to be into their conversations so...she lowered herself down under the table to dissappear for a moment, and crawl underneath to the other side if possible.
  1029.
1030. Stray raises his mug up, putting on a smile once again, though Stray had to force himself not to grimace at Slayer's toast. He quickly tips back his beer and downs the rest of it. "It's just a temporary stay in this world for me here, but I appreciate the wishes to find my place," He says, trying to sound polite to not try to sound sour.
  1031.
1032. Gary snorted, "Sure as shit is different and by god do I wish the internet was still around..." He sighed wistfully, missing the hours of useless entertainment it gave him, but he was pulled out of it when he saw Daybreak go under the table, "Oi, where the hell you going?" The gryphon hissed after her
  1033.
1034. " I'll be back, I'll be back~ " she waved at him with a smirk before continuing.
  1035.
1036. Peyote happily raises his mug and lets out some kind of cheer-squawk, before downing the rest of the mug and reaching for another
  1037.
1038. “Oh? What info we have gathered said this situation was...unexpected and permanent for you, but im glad to see they might know a way to get you back!” Break Necks says to Stray, nodding with a few other Chiefs.
  1039.
  1040.
  1041.
1042. Bone had slipped under the table too, and met Day in the actually pretty open and spacious area under it. She smirked at the drunken Day
1043. “Well, someones had a good few, eh?” she giggled.
  1044.
1045. “well, your cute with your hair down, but it cant be fun having all that in your eyes.” she dug around in a pouch, and came backup with a *Different hair tie in her mouth.
1046. “Hey, wanna ditch this stuffy feast and go have some real fun? We'll be back before the first ceremony starts, eh?~” she says, Tie firmly in her teeth.
  1047.
  1048.
1049. Listening in on what the Chiefs were talking about and deciding that Daybreak would probably be fine, being her usual self, he piped in, "Well, it's gonna take a bit, but I've been studying magic and portals and such to hopefully understand it more and better search for a way home, but, well," He scrunched up his beak as much as it would allow, "I'm kinda doubtful because of how I wound up in Equestria in the first place."
  1050.
1051. "Oi, im not that drunk! " Day smirked then hiccuped, reaching for the hair tie, " Hell yea, lead the way. " she snickered. This reminded her so much of her days sneaking off in school or other social gatherings. This Bone Breaker chick was turning out to be a cool lass.
  1052.
1053. For whatever reason, hearing Break Neck's thoughts on the permanence of their interdimensional situation, along with the other chiefs nodding in agreement, made Stray feel a pit in his stomach, even though they were actually being encouraging. It wasn't nice to hear that the Equestrians believed that their situation was permanent, not at all. Stray, for his part, stares blankly at Break Neck for a few moments, as if he were staring right through him to the tent wall behind him. When Gary pipes up, it snaps his daze and he smiles politely to Break Neck to try to salvage himself from looking like a weirdo, though he was sure that figurative ship had already sailed. When Gary's words register in Stray's mind, though, Stray jerks his neck to look at Gary with a raised eyebrow. "What? Why are you doubtful?"
  1054.
1055. "Can't go back if my body is six feet under," Gary casually said with a smirk.
  1056.
1057. "Uhm... I jus' sorta figured it was permanant... 'S hard t' say. We're makin' the most 'a it, though. Waiwaiwai... 6 feet under? Y-You're dead?" The griffon asks, looking a little worried. "S-Shit, man, that's awful. I-I'm so sorry t' hear that, man."
  1058.
1059. Stray's eyes widen in realization. "You're... dead? But... this can't be the afterlife. I'm not dead. How would that even work..." He mutters to the griffon next to him, surely looking like a madstallion to the tribesmen around him. He looks to Peyote, frowning deeper hearing that it was permanent from him as well, before looking to Gary again. "Naw... We'll... We'll find a way back, man. Just wait..." He says, gulping to make his tight throat relax as he gives the deadman a soft smile.
  1060.
1061. Gary casually waved them off, taking another drink and more bites of food, trying to seem like it didn't bother him too much so it wouldn't ruin the mood of the feast. His eyes however looked more distant, like there'd be bags under them if not for the feathers.
  1062.
1063. "H-Hey, relax, Stray. I said I figured it was permanant, but I ain't some magic guy. Hell do I know?" he offers, before giving a small shrug "Regardless, uhm... I-I'm glad you're alive here, I guess. Ya seem like an alright guy."
  1064.
  1065.
  1066.
1067. Some of the tribal leaders share a look, and defender gets up, walking over and putting a hoof on Strays shoulder. You alright? Look, uhh, im sure you're right, you'll find a way home eventually....”
  1068.
1069. Clearing her throat, Stone Lord quickly moves the conversation along. “so, uhh, hows the town doing? Outer Hayven right?”
  1070.
  1071.
1072. As Day reaches for the hair pin, Bones pulls back and starts scoot running away. “gotta be quicker then that~” she say as she leads Day out from under the table and out of the back of the tent.
  1073.
1074. She rolled her eyes but chuckled, following her out and catching up, bumping into a few buffalo and zebra as she went, saying sorry along the way, " Oi, where we going? What completely innocent thing are you up to? "
  1075.
1076. Gary just shook his head with wide eyes, thinking about all the shit that had happened and started mumbling some things about plagues, a clinic, ponies being turned to statues, and other stuff.
  1077.
1078. Stray Shot takes Gary's dismissive wave as cue to drop the subject, and Stray was more than happy to do so at the moment. He didn't want to get stuck in a bad mood during this, when these buffalos had seen fit to invite them to something that Equestrians weren't usually invited to. Not only that, but the tribes were actually giving a warm welcome even to him, and were at least supportive of his desire to go home. When Defender puts a hoof on his shoulder, he looks up to him, an embarassed blush coming to his face when he realized he was being kind of a little bitch... He takes a deep breath, puffing up his fluffychest, and downs the rest of his beer, smiling genuinely up to Defender. "I'm fine, thank you sir. Now where were we?" He looks to his fellow former-humans. "Eating and drinking! Right!"(edited)
  1079.
1080. BUT he did perk up and decided it'd probably be best to stop being such a spoilsport, the image of that yellow unicorn mare Dandelion flashing through his mind for some reason, "Oh, well, it's been crazy! Epic fights, adventures, looking for artifacts, it's been great!"
  1081.
  1082.
  1083.
  1084.
1085. After leading Day a bit further from the Tent, Day sees her slip into the back of a ragged looking tent.
  1086.
1087. Entering herself, she would find...the Tent was full of fireworks, of all sizes!
  1088.
1089. Bones smiles, Tie still in her mouth. “well, I have a few plans....” she says...and holds out two mugs of something aswell.
  1090.
1091. "Th' town's doin' pretty darn solid. We've got rough spots here an' there, but... It's a frontier town, ain't really a shock. All th' new critters are amazin'! There's dinosaurs, an' mythological beasts, an' all kinds 'a crazy stuff! And, yeah, Stray! Feastin'!" he warks softly, before going back to his plate "Haven't had t' worry 'bout dietary changes, which is nice. Woulda been confusin'."
  1092.
  1093.
1094. She ducked her head under the tent and gasped at what she saw. A devilish grin appeared on her face. She takes one of the two mugs, " I like where this is going. Go on~" she'd try to reach for the tie again playfully.
  1095.
  1096.
1097. Break Necks smiles, raising a mug to all that. “splendid, ahh....i miss my younger days, running around the mountains exploring and beating the snout out of bandits.... but settling down has its own perks of course.” he smirks, rubbing Defender of Honors head, who blushed again and grumbled.
  1098.
1099. “careful with them humans, Necks and lady Shadows have haggled trade deals into their favor like ive never seen before....” Slayer of Dragons warns playfully, causing Break Necks to roll his eyes as the other Chiefs start to chuckle and agree.
  1100.
  1101.
1102. Bones wiggles her eye brows at Day, and bends back as Day reaches for it.
1103. “Hah, if you think im letting those dirty hooves near my mouth, ya more drunk then you look.~” she teases, and quickly throws a hoof out and pushes Days manes down into her eyes.
  1104.
1105. Gary just continued to pick at his food, nodding along as the buffalo talked, "Oh, heh, wish I could manage that somehow. I'm garbage and negotiations," The gryphon rolled his eyes, propping his head up with a hand
  1106.
1107. The young mare huffed and growled, pushing her bangs and mane out of her eyes so she can see again, " Come on you loser, give it! " she can't help but giggle going for the zebra again. Oh wait, she knew how to do this! It was just like the pocky game back on earth, or something like it, right? Day leaned forward to try and bite the other end of the hairtie. With other girls, she always used to win at this, it was just like chicken.
  1108.
  1109.
1110. "Speaking of bandits... and Diamond Dogs..." Stray Shot says after he finishes chewing and swallowing some ore seasoned rice that reminded him a little bit of his mother's jambalaya from back home, but without the meat. He looks up to Defender, and then his gaze shifts to Peace Maker, before going back to Defender. "Uh... Some bandit group composin' of Diamond Dogs, Griffons, and Ponies started harassin' our nrothern trade routes recently. I don't mean to bring up business at a festivity as grand as this, but... I just thought I'd mention it, since y'all mentioned you had problems with Diamond Dogs." He takes another gulp of his fresh mug of beer to wet his throat, having spoke all that quite abruptly.
  1111.
1112. "I'm terrible at negotiations too, hahaha... I try m' best, though!" he grins, before working his way through his second mug. He grins in response to Break Necks, before bobbing his head "We dealt with some bandits jus' a while back! We had t' do a rescue mission f'r some'f th' townsfolk. Yeah, what Stray's talkin' 'bout."
  1113.
1114. "They took hostages." Stray nods at Peyote's words, looking at Defender.
  1115.
  1116.
1117. Neck shares a look with some of the others, but smirks. “well, we don't know anything about that, but they try and interrupt our trade and they wont last lone, hah!” he nods proudly.
  1118.
1119. Peace Maker nods sternly. “we apologize if any of them are....leftovers from our scuffles, but that tends to be what happens.”
  1120.
  1121.
1122. Slayer of Dragons rubs the back of his head. “Well...so...what does your town produce anyways? Joking aside, now-a-days our tribes tend to be traders more then warrior, heh, mostly, so we would be happy to settle into more...serious talks.” he smiles. “after the festival of course.”
  1123.
  1124.
1125. Bone Breaker giggles as Day goes in, and leans a bit to let Day bite on, but doesn't let go at all, simply looking deep into Days eyes.
  1126.
  1127.
1128. "Eh, no need f'r apologies, Chief Peace Maker. Folk'll do as they do, an' we handled 'em jus' fine. As f'r what we produce? Ahhhmmmm... I don't rightly know. I know we have lumber exportin', an' some minin' too. We've got a good deal 'a craftsman, so I'd imagine we export somma that too... crops, I'd bet, an' some animnal products? Whiskey an' I trap an' sell beasties, sometimes." he remarks, stroking his beak in thought
  1129.
1130. Gary was suddenly not all too interested in the conversation, none of that sort of stuff being his area of concern, Shit, I'd assume lumber? Probably gems too, I've seen the gem mine."
  1131.
1132. Stray blinks. He was a courier, and didn't work in any sort of means of production. "Uh... Well, there's the mines like Gary said. Then there's lumber... blacksmith... crops..." He trails off, stopping after crops as he felt like he was rambling. He glanced to Gary, then to Peyote. Shit, I hoped they were gonna answer that. Stray shrugs with a smirk. "I'm just a lowly courier, I don't know what all we produce, heh..."
  1133.
1134. So this really was a challenge, huh? Day stared back with determination in her eyes, tugging at the hair tie and growling lightly. If anyone were to see this, it probably looked similar to two dogs playing tug o war. This brought a good idea to her as she tried shaking her head a bit to pull it away. " Come on Bones...!" She said through her teeth, " Be a good girl and leggo. "
  1135.
  1136.
1137. Slayer laughs “Hah, well sounds like your towns doing well economically, always a pleasure to hear!” he gives another mug cheer with the other Chiefs.
  1138.
1139. “well, just dont let these two intimidate you with their size too much, trust me, they're both softies at heart.” Tree Tamer says with a wink, and instantly Break Necks and Slayer of Dragons are on the defensive as Tree just grins as she takes a drink.
  1140.
  1141.
1142. Bones doesn't let go, using he tongue to pull more of the tie into her mouth, and herself closer to Day. He giggles, going along with the shaking, hoping back and forth before plopping her hooves down on Days shoulders to keep her still.
  1143. “or else what?~”
  1144.
  1145.
1146. Peyote snickers a little at the two buffalo, before bobbing his head "I'll keep that in mind. So, this's a yearly thing, ain't it? How long's it been goin' on?"
  1147.
1148. Stray Shot nods, smiling silently, and takes another gulp of his beer. He was definitely far from drunk, but the buzz it provided was nice and made him start to care less every second about the discouraging moment earlier.
  1149.
1150. Gary just listened intently, not really having much at all to add to the conversation.
  1151.
1152. Day pulled her head back on the opposite end, trying to keep her head away from hers. It was time for something dirty. Something underhanded. Something only a cruel cheater could do! It may not work, but she was going to try! The earth mare lifted up a foreleg, and poked and proded at Bone's sides in attempt to tickle her and make her drop it.
  1153.
  1154.
  1155.
1156. While Tree kept the two bigger boys arguing with a smirk, Stone Lord steps in to keep the conversation flowing.
  1157.
1158. “aye, we do this yearly. Been going on for eleven generations, though things have changed in many ways....” she seems to get a bit sad, and sighs. “used to be seven tribes once.”
  1159.
1160. Peace Maker nods glumly. “they chose their path Stone, nothing our forefathers could done.” he shrugs, taking a deep drink, “why do you ask, did you humans have similar?”
  1161.
  1162.
1163. Bones eyes go wide, and she giggles, but keeps hold with her teeth.
1164. “Oh., ok...heeee, ok then~!” she bites further down the tie, and starts running her hooves down days back smoothly and gently, and blows a bit of air on Days snout.
  1165.
1166. Shit, it didn't work. Well Daybreak wasn't going to back down from-"aAh!" She squealed and then the blowing of air threw her off as well, letting go of the tie and stumbling back, " Goddammit! Bones you suck! " she pouted and growled, but in good nature, " Fine, fine you win! "
  1167.
1168. Without really even realizing it, Gary started lightly scratching things into the table with a talon, his hands usually doing this when he started getting disinterested and wanted something to do. The trials sounded really fun to him and sitting here talking didn't help. Suddenly though, he looked around and noticed two missing persons, Daybreak and Bone Breaker. Rolling his eyes and huffing, he scolded himself for not keeping better track of those two.
  1169.
1170. "Curious, mostly. Shame ya lost a couple tribes along th' way, Chied Stone Lord... and, I mean... sorta? Back on Earth, we'd have meetins between nations from time t' time, but I was never one with th' head for that kinda stuff. As far as Hayven goes... nah, we ain't got nothin' like this. I'd like t' make this a yearly visit, though... this place is awfully swell! I can't wait f'r th' ceremonies!"
  1171.
1172. Stray Shot seems to sit there silently as well, drinking beer and getting refills to stave off the continued feelings of not really belonging here right now, and he wasn't sure why. He didn't have anything in particular to say of any importance. He had stopped eating a decent bit ago, but was still steadily sucking down beers.
  1173.
  1174.
  1175.
  1176.
  1177.
  1178.
  1179.
1180. Bones pouted a bit. “awww, I wasn't done yet~” she says in a slightly sultry voice, looking day up and down veeery slowly, but then chuckles. “spin round for me, ill get that hair up real quick fer ya~”
  1181.
  1182.
1183. “Ah, shame. Things like this are always good for the spirit, id highly suggest figuring one out for your town. A bit of local culture does marvels to keep a community together.” Stone nods firmly.
  1184.
  1185.
1186. Suddenly though, a horn was blown.
1187. “THOSE WISHING TO PARKAE IN THE CEREMONY OF BRUISES, MEET AT THE FIELD TO THE SOUTH IN TEN MINUTES!” the tent cheered, and many got up to head over, but many more did not.
  1188.
1189. “Ah, well, I guess its time.” Break Necks nodded. “you folks go on ahead, us Chiefs are not allowed to participate, so we'll join the crowd once it begins.”
  1190.
1191. Gary suddenly shot up at the announcement, finally! He was about to dart out and follow the other buffalo, but he stopped and thought Daybreak would probably want to participate too, "Shit, where did that mare go?" The gryphon grumbled and made his way out of the tent to try and find her
  1192.
1193. "I figured you Chiefs would be the ones to get in there and kick all the ass, heh..." Stray replies almost in a mutter as he stands up from where he sat. He looks up to the various tribe chiefs and gives a slight bow of his head, seemingly genuinely. "Thanks for havin' us, again," He says before turning around, running up to the table to grab a fresh beer, and follow Gary out of the tent. "Gary? Where you goin'?"
1194. "Shit starts in like 10 minutes.
  1195.
1196. "Yeah, but Daybreak went off somewhere and I know she'd want to participate!" Gary called back to Stray as he made his way lookign around
  1197.
1198. "Whoopwhoop!" the griffon hollers, before finishing off his mug, the third one, and taking a few more bites of food "Well, darn. Shame ya can't participate, I bet it'd be a hell'f a sight. Y'all take care now!" he warks, before making for the field! There's no time to waste!
  1199.
1200. She snorted, " Please, " she turns around and sits, pushing back all over her mane for her, " You gonna join any of the tournaments for the ceremony? " she asks looking around at the fireworks, and gathering a pool of ideas in her head on how to use them.
  1201.
1202. Stray Shot stops, sighing and letting Gary go off to find Daybreak. He turns around from following Gary and starts trotting his way to where they were supposed to go. Despite the alcohol, and the earlier elation from getting a new gun, something still didn't feel right, and it wasn't something anyone else seemed to feel. He goes and sits on his haunches near the tournament grounds, waiting patiently.
  1203.
  1204.
1205. Break Neck and the other Chiefs share a look. “exactly, if we were allowed in, we would win every year, ha!”
  1206.
  1207.
1208. Bones runs her hooves up Days back from much lower then she needed too, before bringing Days hair up and tieing it up into a cute little bun.
  1209.
1210. She leans on Days back a little, whispering into her ear. “Well, I was gonna join the brawl, But we could skip it and have our own, private fun instead...~” She grins, “*If you dont want to feel like your cheating on Gary, he could join in....~”
  1211.
  1212.
  1213.
1214. For those heading to the Ceremony, they would find to the south a very large square area set aside and sanctioned off with wooden beams, the ground inside a mix of mud and dirt, as some Guards and supervisors helped contestants pick out and get into their weight vests. There must've been over 50 ready to get into the ring, which was lined on all but this side with large bleachers filling up with a crowd!
  1215.
  1216.
1217. Gary started grumbling, actually getting annoyed now because he wanted to participate, but he had to make sure Daybreak was still around and hadn't done something stupid, "DAYBREAK! Where the hell did you go off to, the competition starts soon!" The agitated catbird yelled, eyes darting around everywhere
  1218.
1219. Peyote heads on over to the weight vests, stopping by the supervisors and grinning "Hey, hey hello! I'm here f'r th' ceremony 'a bruises! Need t' bind my wings down b'fore we get started with th' vests? Should I use my fist wrappin's, 'r nah?"
  1220.
1221. The mare flinched and turned back after her mane was done, " Huh? What do you mean...? Oh, you did a bun? Haha, neat! Good for fighting, yea? " then her ears perk up as she heard her name called, " Oh shit! That sounds like Gary...you should join the brawl anyway, I bet I could kick your ass. " she said with a smirk before poking her head outside of the tent, looking for the brown-er, grey and white griffon. " Oiiii! " she calls out. She was completely sober by now, scanning the crowd from the tent. "
  1222.
1223. Gary's head whipped around at the familiar call, his eyes scanning around until he pinpointed the mare's head sticking out of a tent and quickly bolted over to her, "Hey, where the hell did you go off to?!" He just shook his head, waving a hand at her, "Never mind, come on! The ceremony of bruises starts in a few minutes and we gotta hurry to make it!"
  1224.
1225. Stray Shot passes Gary, Peyote, and Daybreak, wishing them luck before he thanks the hosts and heads on back to town.
  1226.
  1227.
1228. Bones blinks, but shrugs, and follows Day to the ceremony field.
  1229.
1230. Day and Gary arrive just in time, and are quickly fitted with a harness, along with Peyote, though both Griffons have their Wings tied down so they cannot cheat.
  1231.
1232. Without warning really, war paint is plastered on the humans faces, like all the other constants, before they are ushered inside the ring and told to take any position they please inside the large square.
  1233.
1234. “Ladies and Gentlelos, I am proud to bring you our first Ceremony of the Festival, THE FESTIVAL OF BRUISES! Rules will be as follows: get knocked out of the square, you are out. Get knocked out, you are out, if you are lifted off the ground for more then a minute, you are out. If you get pinned for more then a minute, you are out. If you bleed badly, or from more then three places, you are out. No flying I will remind out guests, and no weapons!” The announcer says from atop a podium with judges off to the top side of the arena.
  1235.
1236. Gary was not at all too happy to have his face plastered with paint, but when he discovered it was war paint, he laughed wildly, thinking he must look something fierce in it. The harness weighed heavily down on him because of his large size requiring a larger harness, but he thought that just made him a tank, "Hey Daybreak, you watch my back I'll watch yours!" He offered the mare, moving to a position in the corner of the square
  1237.
1238. She starts bouncing up and down as they get her fitted. It feels heavy on her body but she doesn't mind, she was grinning from ear to ear ready to get to punching.
  1239.
1240. Peyote adjusts his harness a little bit, and nods once he's gotten it in the right spot. The griffon's had to take off his sadlebags and signature poncho, and the wing binding feels a little obnoxious, but... hey! He's excited. He slowly wraps his talons in their wraps, and tightens them a little bit, before nodding approvingly to himself (these, essentially http://muaythai-world.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Muay-Thai-Hand-Wraps.jpg)
1241. "So, y'all excited? 'Cause I'm pretty excited."
  1242.
1243. " Yea! Yea! I'm gonna take on some buffalo, and a zebra, and maybe you. " she smirked to Peyo.
  1244.
1245. "Well, let's hope f'r th' best! We'll show 'em a thing 'r two." he warks excitedly, before nudging the smolmare
  1246.
1247. “EVERYONE READY? THREE....TWO..........ONE......LET THE BRUISES COMMENCE!”
  1248.
1249. and just like that, the large crowd of now nearly 80 contestants starts smacking the shit out of eachother! Mud flies, dust goes up, war cries are screamed and gods are cursed as bodies and hooves meet in glorious combat!
  1250.
  1251. [d20+dex everyone!]
  1252. Gary, 2
  1253. Peyote, 3
  1254. Day, 16
  1255.
  1256.
1257. As the brawl starts, Gary suddenly see a large blur nearly on top of him as a buffalo charges him down!
  1258.
  1259.
1260. Peyote too has no time to react, as a large brown female suddenly is nearly on him, screaming something about making chicken sandwiches outta him.
  1261.
  1262.
1263. Day though is able to quickly react. Being near her fellow humans, she sees them being charged, but also sees two Zebra fighting to the left, and a Distracted Buffalo charging someone to her back that has not seen her themselves.
  1264.
  1265.
1266. Acting in a panic, Gary tries to force his body to move out of the way and maybe hopefully get a punch into the buffalo's side.
  1267.
1268. lets out a startled yelp as the she-buffalo leaps at him, stepping back a step or two. He plants all four legs on the ground firmly and ruffles his feathers out, before letting out a loud, aggressive screech, and throwing a pair of swings at the buffalo's head!
  1269.
1270. Day decides to leap up on top of the buffalo that charged Gary and grab onto his horns to ride the guy and distract him. " It's like a rodeo! Or something! "
  1271.
  1272.
  1273. [Gary:]

  1287. [or]
  1288. [d20+strength at 8+ pass, 13+success, 3- crit fail]
  1289. Day,Dex, 5, fail
  1290.
1291. Days attempt to jump on the charging Buffalos back fails, and she splats down in a mud pile, which causes two nearby fighters to stop and snicker at her.
  1292.
1293. Peyote meanwhile gets a smack into his opponents nose, which causes her to skid and swerve a bit, though this forces peyote to jump backwards a bit.
  1294.
1295. Gary sidesteps the big ol buffalo and gets a good punch into its meaty side, causing the large beast to 'oof'. But to Garys surprise perhaps, the large person just keeps charging forward, switching to charge whoever else is in his way, before he hears hooves coming at him from both behind and to his left!
  1296.
  1297.
1298. Gary just watched the buffalo go and saw Daybreak go down. He was about to move in to try and help her up when he heard what sounded like to more coming for him and tried to dodge them, hoping that the buffalo would ram into each other at just the right time.
  1299.
1300. Peyote shouts loudly as his fist connects with the buffalo's snooter, and hops back a little bit to give himself a bit more distance. If he could, he'd spread his wings out wide, but for now he just warks warily at the buffalo, waiting to see if he needs to move in for another swing.
  1301.
1302. Day wipes the mud from her face and growls, going into a leap and tackle one of the fighters that laughed at her.
  1303.
  1304.
  1305. [Gary:]
  1306. [d20+dex at 7+ pass, 15+ success, 3- crit fail]

  1321. unarmed, 14, pass
  1322.
  1323.
1324. Gary mis-times his jump, and with one of his two opponents seeing what was going on ans swerving away, this leaves him an easy target for the one from the left, who smacks int him hard and sends him toppling through the mud!
  1325.
1326. A moment later, he feels a hoof press down on his arm, and looking up at the now blocked sunlight sees a big ol buffalo staring down.
1327. “Times ticking haha.” the buffalo pinning him says.
  1328.
  1329.
1330. Meanwhile peyote manages to cause his opponent to hesitate in her attack, flinching instead of going in at him, leaving her open for a counter!
  1331.
  1332.
1333. Day smack into one of the two surprised younger buffalos, sending them both spinning a bit, though neither goes to the ground, and her opponent snorts in her face, wrapping his hooves around hers and continuing the struggle to get her on the ground first.
  1334.
1335. The other one just smirks and watches, waiting to face whoever wins, until an older buffalo smack him hard enough in the side to send him sprawling out of the ring, and winks at Day before he charges off to find a free adversary.
  1336.
  1337.
1338. Peyote takes full advantage of the hesitation, and leaps forward to give a solid hammerfist to the side of her head with a loud, angry screech!
  1339.
1340. Gary glares up at the buffalo, growling and immediately attempts to knock the buffalo off and away, aiming for his face with a balled up fist using his free arm!
  1341.
1342. She snorts back at him with a grin. With him holding onto her hooves/forelegs, she tries to twist her body to use his own weight to throw him to the ground on his back while holding on.
  1343.
  1344.
  1345.
  1346.
  1347.

  1365. Dex, 4, fail
  1366.
  1367.
  1368.
1369. Gary ends up smacking the buffalos chest a bit, who frowns and pushes down on his arm enough to hurt, before putting his weight down with his other hoof on Garys chest!
1370. “less then 30 seconds fucker.” he snorts at Gary.
  1371.
  1372.
1373. Peyote gets a good smack into the female, forcing her back, but then she gets slammed into from the side, and gets pinned down!
  1374.
1375. Before Peyote can decide what to do about this, he hears something charging him from behind!
  1376.
  1377.
1378. Day Grapples with the younger buffalo, who using a bit of his higher weight, flops her over into the mud, and quickly goes to pin her!
  1379.
1380. She yelps out as the tables have turned on her and she's back in the mud again. Of course that wasn't going to stop her! Once she was on her back, Day uses her hind legs to kick upward at her opponent's gut, and hopefully knock him off of her.
  1381.
1382. The buffalo's insult caused Gary to narrow his eyes at the buffalo and the adrenaline in his body to flare up. With all the might he can muster, Gary tries to throw the big bastard off of him, not wanting to go down so easily!
  1383.
1384. Peyote blinks once or twice as the Buffalo is pinned by another, and starts to shrug... before blinking in surprise as someone approaches from the rear! He whips around and lets out another loud screech, before readying his forelegs to try and throw the buffalo off course! While the griffon might not be strong enough to do it on his own, he might be able to redirect the buffalo's own force!
  1385.
  1386. [Day]

  1401. [d20+cha at 9+ pass, 16+success, 18+ perfect, 5- crit fail]
  1402. str, 20, success
  1403.
  1404.
1405. Day manages to push the buffalo away for a second, not enough to wiggle free as hes jumping on top of her yet again, but shes not yet pinned!
  1406.
  1407.
1408. Meanwhile Peyote manages to impress himself, as he hits into the side of the buffalo hard enough to make him trip over and roll, right out of the arena! Better, it seems no one else is jumping at him yet!
  1409.
1410. To his left, he sees toe big, burly gentlemen buffalo, horns locked, ones back pressed against the wood of the arenas edge. To his back there is a zebra pinned down by a buffalo, and to his front he sees....Defender of justice, who just finished a timeout on a pinned down opponent!
  1411.
  1412.
1413. As Gary tries his best to struggle, it is futile, and suddenly a ref is next to Gary. “times up griffon.” he says, the buffalo on him stepping off with a smirk, and turning to run off and find a new target.
  1414.
1415. The Ref pats Garys shoulder. “c'mon, out of the arena, there's orange slices and water over in the waiting area.”
  1416.
1417. Gary really wanted to keep going and take down that smug ass buffalo, especially for the insult, but he was content to just follow the ref and grumble, taking his consolation prize of orange slices with a flat look.
  1418.
1419. Peyote narrows his eyes a little and paws at the ground, before getting a bit of arunning start. He curses himself for not coming to help Gary earlier, but he'll get revenge, at least! He picks up a bit more speed and lets out a loud, aggressive screech, before slamming a wrapped fist into the buffalo's side as he starts to go off for a new target
  1420.
1421. When he's coming down for her again, she thrusts her foreleg up to deliver a punch into his chest.

  1436.
1437. Peyote manages to catch up with the buffalo that was on Gary, though this was far away and not one of the close by targets mentioned, he still catches up to him non-the-less.
  1438.
1439. However he only gets a small smack in, before the buffalo turned and going in for a headbutt!
  1440.
  1441.
1442. Day bring her hoof up quickly, and gets a hard smack into the young buffalo, who 'oofs' as hes thrown off and flops into the mud next to her!
  1443.
1444. But before Day can pin him herself, suddenly out of nowhere Bone Breaker slides in, smacking into the poor sod and sending him rolling out of the ring.
1445. “Behind you~” she says, an suddenly Day hears something coming, as Bones giggles and runs off!
  1446.
  1447.
1448. Gary sits on one of the many losers benches that are slowly filling up. Out of the 80 contestants theres probably at best 20 left, meaning Gary is kinda squished a bit as he tries to enjoy his orange slices.
  1449.
  1450.
1451. Deciding that being squished on the bleachers wasn't ideal and his blood was still pumping, Gary huffed and rushed over to the side of the arena, keeping himself out of it, "Come on you two, smash their faces in! Show 'em how humans do things!" The gryphon yells at the remaining Hayvenites
  1452.
1453. Peyote yelps a little as the buffalo turns suddenly, and decides to go for it! He plants his forelegs into the ground, and brings his fist up for a solid uppercut!
  1454.
1455. She grunts a bit after getting the hit in, now it was time to--" Oh, whoa! Thanks I-AH!" She whips around to try to dodge roll out of the way of whatever was about to rush into her.

1472. Peyote isnt fast enough, and gets smacked right into the chin. Hard. He goes tumbling, and ends up right next to the edge, sprawled out in the dirt. The big buffalo wastes no time, and is charging at him hard and fast!
  1473.
  1474.
1475. Day quickly turns, seeing a massive bull of a buffalo charging right for her!
1476. Rolling hes going far too fast, and ends up crashing into the barrier of the ring hard enough to crack it, but isn't out of the ring yet, but is dazed heavily, as he wobbles and shakes unsteadily.
  1477.
1478. While he's Dazed and Confused (heh), Daybreak wastes no time in rushing in on him to jump him and try to drop kick him in his side.
  1479.
1480. Peyote bounces along the ground with an 'oof!' or two, and quickly scrabbles to all fours. He refuses to back down or run out of the way! He gets up and readies himself, before charging towards him and attempting to use the buffalo's momentumn against him to throw the dude, or at least set him well off-course!

1497. Day get a good running start, but not fast enough, jumping and kicking into him as he was pulling back, not sending him out of the ring but knocking him back into place against the edge!
  1498.
  1499.
1500. Meanwhile Peyote manages to just barely avoid getting smacked hard, getting to his feet but no further from the ring, as the buffalo hops sideways and then jumps forward to headbutt him out!
  1501.
  1502.
1503. Peyote screeches angrily at the approaching buffalo, before going for another hard hammerfist!
  1504.
1505. Day starts to wail on him with several punches if she can, alternating with each foreleg like pistons to try and wear him down.

1520. Peyote comes up hard, smacking the dude back hard in the jaw for some sweet revenge, making him tumble over and land head down against the wooden barrier! Hes not out but so, so close!
  1521.
1522. Day huff and beat on the big ol bastard, but hes just too big, and she feels the strain in her muscles as he recovers, and starts pushing backwards to get himself free.
  1523.
1524. She hears something coming up from behind her too!
  1525.
  1526.
1527. Peyote shouts victoriously as the fist connects, and sends the buffalo tumbling towards the barrier! Not willing to give him a chance to pull through, the griffon goes to push him over the barrier!
  1528.
1529. She sees that this isn't doing anything to the guy and pulls back, but just when she's about to make another move, it was time to dodge roll out the way again, just like in her vidya games!

1544. Peyote get as good shove in, but its not enough, as the dude flails, but is slowly getting pushed out. He better hurry though, somethings starting to come up behind him!
  1545.
1546. Day rolls out of the way and sees....Defender completely ignore her and smash into her opponent with a jumping kick, knocking him out of the ring as he does a backwards somersault off the guy and lands perfectly, smirking over at Day.
1547. “Fancy meeting you here.” he says.
  1548.
  1549.
1550. decides to try and let both problems solve themselves! The griffon decides to roll out of the way, in hopes that the charger behind him will bonk his target!
  1551.
1552. She blinks, surprised to see him here. She expected Bones, but not Defender. She smirked back and nodded, "Heh, you too! Mind if I..." and then she tries to sweep kick him at his legs to knock him down with a grin. She was way too in the moment not to take a chance at him, and she'd come after Bones later if she saw her again.

1569. Peyote looks over his shoulder, and sees a unknown zebra launching at him. With perfect timing, he flops out of the way, and with a surprised look the zebra sends both himself and the buffalo out of the ring!
  1570.
1571. Looking around, Peyote sees the square is nearly empty! Just him, Day and Defender, Bones and another Zebra, and another big buffalo charging at at Day and Defender!
  1572.
  1573.
  1574.
1575. Day meanwhile tries to swipe at Defender of Honor, who smirked, seeing it coming a mile away. He jumps above it, and brings his hoof forward hard as he does, smacking Day backwards with a hit to the nose!
  1576.
1577. Before she can even recover, hes jumped at her for a pin!
  1578.
  1579.
1580. She's knocked back, then leans forward into his oncoming attack and charges with a headbutt to his gut!
  1581.
1582. Peyote decides he's not too keen on letting anyone interrupt Day and Defender's match but him. He gets a running start and makes a beeline for the buffalo charging in, before shoulderchecking him towards the zebra! "I don't think they want ya t' cut in!"

1599. “Day Day Day, how sad, but hey, we got a minute, hows the Ceremony, enjoying yourself?” he asks casually.
  1600.
  1601.
  1602.
1603. Peyote is able to get a punch into the buffalos side, hardly enough to knock him over, but he skids to a stop and turns.
1604. “oh, well, ya wanna fight, lets fight!” he smirks and rushes Peyote!
  1605.
  1606.
1607. "Works f'r me!" he warks loudly, before going in for some grappling! He's gonna drop this buffalo good and hard!
  1608.
1609. She struggles to pull free from him, mud drying on her face. She growls but she looks up at him with a smirk, " Yea actually! Reminds me of the brawls back home! " Day attempts to get out of his hold since her forelegs were down, " ...less brass knuckles and baseball bats tho..."

  1625.
  1626.
1627. Daybreak channels her inner squirrel and slips into the dirt a bit, then slips her body free suddenly! Surprised, Defender slips a bit, and in just a moment Day has him on the ground, his front legs pinned down!
  1628.
1629. He looks up at her in a bit of shock, he laughs.
1630. “well, glad your enjoying yourself!” he smiles warmly as he starts struggling.
  1631.
  1632.
1633. She smiles back at him, " Congrats again by the way! " then she continues to try to keep him pinned down, she needed to hold him there for just a whole minute to get him out of the game.
  1634.
1635. Peyote grits his teeth and screeches angrily, before getting a solid hold on both horns and yanking down towards the ground! "Sorry, b-but I'm not goin' out like that!"

1651. Peyote tries his best to bring the large buffalo down, but to no real avail, and suddenly feels his feet lift the ground for a moment, the world becoming a blur, before his breath is knocked out of him as hes pinned against the wooden edge of the square!
  1652.
  1653.
1654. Day however manages to maneuver to keep her weight on wherever Defenders putting the most effort into escaping from, effectively keeping him pinned down as he struggles, but makes no headway itno getting free.
  1655.
1656. A moment later, he goes limp, and shrugs, as a ref suddenly puts a hoof an Days shoulder. “let tha boy up, minutes passed.”
  1657.
1658. Defender chuckles. “oof, well this is what I get for fighting one leg down haha, you did good Day!”
  1659.
1660. when Day looks around, she would see only three others left. Peyote pinned down by a big buffalo, and Bone Breaker charging to try and knock both of them out!
  1661.
  1662.
1663. Peyote acks loudly as he's lifted up and slammed into the wooden edge of the bruisin' square! He struggles against the buffalo up against him, before flicking his ears as he hears Bone Breaker approaching rapidly! Mulling it over, he figures... He can't really move back. But, if he can wrestlle the buffalo off of him, he might be able to twist him in the way! That ways, Bone Breaker'd trip over the buffalo on him, and he'd deal with both problems! (So, trying to turn him sideways and throw him on to his side )
  1664.
1665. Daybreak saluted Defender as he went off, " Thanks, see you after the brusies! " Then she would turn to see the last three, a buffalo pinned on Peyo and bone on her way to him. Looks like it was time for the earth mare to help out Peyo and take out the zebra before she got a chance at him. Daybreak lowered herself, and kicked some mud back with her hidelegs then goes galloping in for a charge at Bone Breaker's side before she can get to the others!

  1680.
1681. Day manages to reach Bone Breaker just a few feet before she is on Peyote and the buffalo, slamming into her and second both of them rolling away, before with a kick Bone Breaker separates them and they both roll to their feet.
  1682.
1683. Bone shakes some dust off herself, and smirks at Day. “Well, that was silly of you, could've just been us two!” and then she leaps at Day with a low down tackle!
  1684.
  1685.
1686. Peyote struggles as hes pinned, but with a bit of struggle manages to slam the buffalo into the side aswell, but with a hoof and horns the buffalo grunts, still having Peyote pinned aswell. Its a difficult situation for both, one wrong step from either could send them, or both, out of the square!
  1687.
1688. Day rolls to her hooves and smirks, " Whaddya mean? It is just us two now, right? " and while Bone was on her way to try and tackle at her from below, Day would try to leap up and over the other mare and if landed, kick her from behind with her hindlegs.
  1689.
1690. "M-Might not be goin' th' best, but... h-hey, at least this's pretty fun!" Peyote grits his teeth and struggles, trying to use his strength and his grappling knowledge to shove the buffalo over the edge! If he can at least force the buffalo away, he can get a moment to catch his breath!

  1707.
1708. Peyote manages with great strain to get a leg around the Buffalos leg, and nearly topples him over, but the bastards not going out easy, and hits Peyote hard in the stomach, and keeps the grapple going!
  1709.
  1710.
1711. Day leaps over the lunge and lands a bit hard, unable to kick out as she sees Bone twist around on one Hoof nimbly and charge at her again!
  1712.
1713. Peyote wheezes from the punch to the gut, and grits his teeth a little harder, before responding with a solid smack right where the buffalo's leg meets his bulky frame, to try and force him down! He gives Daybreak a strained grin, unfortunately not able to give a thumbs up, and shouts "T-Thanks f'r the save, Day!" in a hoarse voice, before giving the buffalo another punch to his underside in the same spot, and screeching at him angrily
  1714.
1715. Daybreak skids a bit in the mud and winces, then turns around to see Bones coming at her again. She heard Peyo but there was no time to respond as the pink-maned mare gets a bit of a running start towards the zebra but then lowers herself and plops down with her hindlegs extended outward, trying to use the mud to help her slid forward and kick at the other's legs.
  1716.
1717. Gary huffs and watches the fight, smiling when Daybreak managed to take down Defender and was in the process of dealing with Bones. He was a god sport and greeted the buffalo on his way out, "Well, lasted long than me in the ring!"

1731. Defender smiles and takes a set next to Gary. “hah, well, it was likely to happen,if it wasn't for a bit of medication, my leg would've stopped me from participating at all....” he grimaces a bit and rubs at the hind legs joint a bit. “i, uhh....dont think ill be participating in the other now though, heh....whoo im gonna feel this in a few hours.....”
  1732.
  1733.
1734. Peyote still is just having trouble with the mound of muscle before him. Able to get the buffalo to fall onto one front knee though, the massive mound still holds onto him aswell, and Peyote simply cant seem to get him to topple over no matter how hard he hits, as the Buffalo grumbles out “well, its been a good run, but I think its time we BOTH got out of here!” and starts trying to use his own weight to topple them both out!
  1735.
  1736.
1737. Day nimbly twists in the mud, her speed and perfect aiming surprising Bones as she gets two hind legs planted firmly on her chest, sending her rolling backwards and into the mud with a loud *'splat'!
  1738.
  1739.
1740. Gary gave a sympathetic pat on Defender's back, "Yeah, my fighting style is more in the sky and diving, I was out of my element here!" He tried to excuse his poor performance.
  1741.
1742. Chuckling, Defender nods, unstrapping his weights and leaning on the railing.
1743. “so...Gary....200 Gold on Day winning this, you in?” he smirks, looking sideways at the Griffon
  1744.
1745. Gary looked at the buffalo like he was insane, "At this rate? Course she's gonna win, why would I bet against her?"
  1746.
  1747.
1748. Peyote screeches in response to the Buffalo, struggling against him as he tries to force the buffalo off of himself! He goes for a quick hammerfist against the buffalo's upper foreleg, before rolling him off of the ring "S-Sorry, mister... I don't rightly know your name- I ain't bowin' out just yet!"
  1749.
1750. Day internally cheers but it wasn't over yet. Before the zebra could get back up, she would leap over on top of her and try to pin her forelegs down.

1766. Defender laughs a bit. “oh, well, worth a shot. Really though, thought you might know more about that Peyote fella, wanted to see if you had any faith in him getting out of that situation.” he smiles, “that, and dont count Bones out too soon.”
  1767.
1768. Once again, Gary gave Defender a shake of his head and a smile to Defender, "Ah, no way she's gonna lose! And no way I'd bet against my girl and not have her beat me for it..." He grumbled
  1769.
  1770.
1771. Defender nodded with a smirk still on his face. “she seems the type who would do that yeah haha.”
  1772.
  1773.
1774. Peyote manages to off balance the buffalo, but he grimaces, the buffalo still not going out, but Peyote can feel him weakening greatly.
  1775.
1776. Day meanwhile just barely manages to get to Bone Breaker, pinning down a single leg, which Bone breaker smirks at, and quickly wraps the other one Around Day, bringing her down into the mud fro some wrestling!
  1777.
1778. The crowd likes that, as Bones says to Day “not gonna be that easy~.”
  1779.
  1780.
1781. "Regardless 'a how this goes..." the griffon grunt a little, struggling to shove the buffalo "Good fight, man!" he warks out, before shoulder checking the buffalo and trying to push him up and over the wooden boundary! Peyote sure as heck wishes he wasn't so busy, because MAN does that look like a good watch!
  1782.
1783. Day hits the mud with a splat, " I was hoping it wouldn't be! " then she wraps her own forelegs around the barrel of the mare's body and tries to roll Bones onto her back in the mud.
  1784.
1785. Gary watched intently as the two mares started mud wrestling, "Oh lord, what is this about to turn into?"

  1800.
1801. Defender chuckles, simply staring forward. “i suppose something for you to enjoy thoroughly Gary.” he says with a not-so toothy grin, considering he was missing a few of those.
  1802.
1803. The gryphon couldn't help but snicker, "Maybe it was a good idea for me to lose, otherwise I'd miss this!"
  1804.
  1805.
1806. Defender nods, and waves down a tender, getting him and Gary a cold drink. “to losers then?” he says, holding up his mug.
  1807.
1808. Gary takes his mug and knocks it against Defender's, "To losers!" He laughs and takes a drink
  1809.
  1810.
1811. Peyote finally gets that one, tiny bit of upper hand, and with great exertion gets the buffalo to roll out of the ring. As Peyote pants heavily, the big Buffalo chuckles, and getting up, clearly tired himself, holds out a hoof. “Stone Grinder, please to have fought you Peyote.”
  1812.
  1813.
1814. meanwhile Days attempt to roll over Bones fails who instead pulls Day in tight and flops them back over into the mud! Chuckling, she Brings Day in close and tries to roll on top of her.
1815. “Well well well, now why dont you just stop struggling and enjoy the moment, eh~?”
  1816.
  1817.
1818. Peyote warks with exertion as the griffon finally gets the buffalo up and over the side! He sits back a little to catch his breath, grateful for the lack of challengers at the moment. Good thing Southstone's been drilling the heck out of the griffon with that stoneshoving exercise, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to attempt to lift something so large as that! He goes to shake the buffalo's hoof, before humming a little... and cracking a little grin "Peyote. Good t' meet ya, Stone Grinder. And... let's shake after th' contest, aye? Juuust in case ya accidentally pull my tired self outta th' ring, hmm?" he flicks his tail, before heading over to watch Daybreak and Bones go at it. He mulls his options over, and decides... nah. "Y'all keep havin' fun, I think I'll wait t' see who comes out on top.~"
1819. "Ya wanna do this on your own, Day?"
  1820.
1821. This caught the mare by surprise, she thought she would have her! She struggled underneath trying to slip away, " Not a chance! If one of us is going to be on top, it's gonna be me. " and then started to use her own body to do the rolling so that she'd be on top. Her ears turn in Peyo's direction, " What? No, I got this! I'll come after your ass when I'm done with her. "
  1822.
1823. Peyote warks in laughter, and stays seated

1833. Nimbly, Day uses the mud to help slip up Bones grip, twisting the two so that Bones is under her, planting her feet firmly on bones legs. Bone only giggles. “well, im not too upset at being under ya, but im here to win, so, dont make me do what I already want to, hm?~”she says, struggling a bit and looking into Days eyes.
  1834.
  1835.
1836. Defender chuckles a bit, turning to Gary. “Well, if you have a camera, might be near time to get it out, if I know my cousin, she'lll try anything to get out of that....” he says, shaking his head a bit.
  1837.
1838. Watching the two over the rim of his mug, Gary had a sly smirk on his face "Oh, I don't need a camera..." The gryphon said confidently, but looked at Peyote in confusion,* "Surprised he's not taking advantage!"
  1839.
1840. Peyote sways a little bit as he waits, before flushing a little bit and tugging at his vest "Man, as good as this looks... jeez, is it a little awkward. J-Jus finish 'r off, will ya Daybreak?"
  1841.
1842. Day would keep her pinned there as long as possible, panting from getting tired from all this exertion on her body, " You know, I ought to just knock you out, but...fucking hold still! I don't want to mess up that face of yours. So just be good and hold still for a bit, will ya? " Again Day would only need to hold her for a minute and the zebra would be out.
  1843.
  1844.
1845. Bone breaker smirks. “oh? Well then, hmmm~” and leans in, giving Day a peck on the lips.

  1854.
  1855.
  1856.
1857. Day feels her grip slipping for a moment, allowing Bones to use her new position an head to lean forward and start getting back up, and pleasing the crowd more, but Day recovers and pushes her back down.
  1858.
1859. “Ooof, well, that almost worked~” Bones chuckles, and shrugging, tries to focus on getting a single hoof free.
  1860.
1861. " Sorry, but you're not going anywhere missy! Any last words before you're out? " She'd continue to hold her down, pushing harder with her hooves.
  1862.
1863. "Almost got 'r! You can do it, Day!" he warks, grateful for a chance to catch his breath... man, would it be nice to stretch his wings, though!

  1871.
1872. Bones goes in for a headbutt, but it doesn't work. She tries to get a leg free, but Day stands firm. Try as she might, the long days battle had worn on her, and her opponent was a master of keeping people under her.
  1873.
1874. A Ref called it, and with a sigh Bone went limp. “Well, damnt. Good job Day, didnt expect to lose to ya.” she giggles as Day lets her go, looking between the two contestants left.
1875. “You better win now Day, or ill make you regret it~” she wink and trots out of the Square.
  1876.
1877. Peyote gives Daybreak a chance to get up off the ground, and gives her a wide grin "Well, damn! I knew we'd be th' last two, anyhow. Let's make it pretty good, yeah?" he warks, before widening his stance, and quickly scooting closer to the earth pony. Once he's close enough, he starts off with a quick swing at the base of the neck followed by a smack to the foreleg!
  1878.
1879. Daybreak smiles and salutes her off, " I got...this..." she huffed. The long fight was getting to her. She stood up and turned to Peyo witha slight sway. Did he say something? Oh...Oh! He was coming at her! Day would try to jump back and away from his hit, then rush forward with a hit to his gut with her right foreleg!

  1891.
1892. Peyote tries to end the fight quickly, grabbing at the her side and shoving her towards the ground in the direction of her now folded up leg! He twists around and tries to push her into the dirt, screeching at the earth mare angrily as he goes for a grapple!
  1893.
1894. Day slips and falls, wincing in pain but tries to not let it distract her. While she's on the ground, she tries to swip a hindleg at his lion paws to throw him off balance and knock him down before he can grab her!

  1906.
1907. She grunts as she's taken down by the griffon but with her hidelegs up, she'd use them to her advantage and kick at his body to try and knock him off!
  1908.
1909. Peyote hunkers down over her, using his one of hindlegs to try force hers down, while attempting to pin her forelegs with his strong claws! "N-Nothin' personal! Not losing two of these, though!"

  1921.
1922. “OOOOHHH, 30 SECONDS! 30....SECONDS!” someone yells from the now bustling crowd.
  1923.
  1924.
1925. " Of...course not! " she huffs and wheezes. Things weren't looking good for her but she still tried her best to struggle out of her situation. She could try to free her hindlegs so she could kick him again.
  1926.
1927. Peyote wasn't willing to let up just yet! He grits his tee- his beak and pushes down harder, his hindleg trying to force hers down a little more concretely! The griffon hopea that his strength and bulk will be enough to pin the feisty little mare!

1938. Both opponents feel the strain of the long battle though.
  1939.
1940. Peyote huffs and lets out another screech as he bounces back up, before bounding towards the mare and going to try and shove her back towards the edge! "Man, though... I-If they could just call us both winners, that'd be easier." he mentions, sticking his tongue out
  1941.
1942. Day quickly goes over to Peyo, " No way I'd let that...happen, there can...be only...one! " she growled and dived into him for a tackle into the ground!

1949. Days weight is just not enough, as Peyote slams into her, sending her toppling across the ground, almost right to the edge, but not out yet!
  1950.
1951. As Peyote shoves the mare back and takes a moment to collect himself, he spots Gary and Defender in the crowd. Smirking a little bit, he knows just what to do! He grips her as tight as he can manage and starts to shove her towards and over the edge, intent on chucking her right into Gary's lap!
  1952.
1953. The mare feels a bit of pain in her back, she was worn out from everything but she still continued to try and push back. She'd try to wriggle her way out of his grasp if she could!

1964. Day manages to wiggle somewhat loose, but not enough to stop Peyote from tossing her! Thankfully the loosened grip messed up his toss, and shes still in the arena, but lands in some mud hard enough to splatter onto Gary and Defender!
  1965.
  1966.
1967. Gary flinched back when he saw Daybreak coming at him but when it was mud instead of a mare hitting him, all he could do was try and wipe it off of himself with a heavy sigh.
  1968.
1969. Defender blinks, but then chuckles, throwing a hoof into the air “C'MON DAY YOU GOT THIS!” he whoops out.
  1970.
  1971.
1972. Daybreak lands clumsily. She was caked in mud all in her coat and mane, it was gonna be hell getting it all out later but she didn't mind it for now. Right now she had to try and when this as best as she could. The mare goes running in for a headbutt to the griffon!
  1973.
1974. "Damnit! Close!" he remarks, his forelegs groaning in protest as he pushes himself back into it. Not content to let this idea slip away, he tries a different approach- throwing her over his shoulder and out, rather than just trying to chuck her! He uses the time he made by chucking her into the mud to hurry close, get into a better position, and hurl her!

1984. and just like that, the tables Turn as Day breaks no Rules and headbutts Peyote hard in the place no man should ever be headbutted, and he topples over in pain as his momentum makes him roll over the smaller mare and flop on the ground near the arena edge.
  1985.
1986. Gary let's out a little squeak and cringes hard when he saw where her hit landed, staring down at Peyote in pitty with a, 'Ohh', "You... alright?" He tries to check on the poor bastard.
  1987.
1988. Peyote yelps loudly from the headbutt to the unmentionables, losing his breath for a moment. While there's no rule against it, he's a little taken aback she'd hit there. it takes a moment or two for his vision to clear and his breathing to slow to something resembling reasonable... but He hardly has time to wait for the pain and dizziness to go away, though! He takes a few deep breaths to clear it as best he can, before waiting for the mare to charge again! As she comes closer, he'd duck low and lift her up and behind him! Even if it doesn't take her our of the ring, it'd turn the tables!
  1989.
1990. Daybreak hadn't realized she hit the guy so low and she cringes herself for a moment, "Ah! Sorry Peyo! " she called out and waited fro him to try to recover from that. Yes, she actually waited though had it been an actual enemy she would not have. Once she saw he was up again, she'd run, jump, and aim to hit him in the cheek with a foreleg.

2006. While he seems out of it, Day tries to go in to try to sweep kick him in his side.
  2007.
2008. Peyote stumbles a little, shaking his head and reminding himself his opponent's on the small side. Deciding to try a last ditch effort, he attempts to grab her by the shoulders and hurl her out of the ring!

  2021.
2022. "Nngh... a-aside from th' last little bout-" he mentions, his face going a little pale in memory of the whiffed headbutt, and the sick feeling in his gut that certainly is not a memory "-This's been a hell'f 'a lotta fun!" he warks, before trying one last yank to chuck her out!
  2023.
2024. " Yea...I-I...fun..." she huffs, " y-you too..." then tries to punch him in the other side of his face. Ifshe would bigger, she would try to throw him out as well, but her best bet was to try and knock him out or pin him, and in the position they were in right now, pinning wasn't happening.

  2035.
2036. "G-Gaahhh, so close! so close so close!" the griffon warks, before trying to shove the mare the last couple inches needed! He's givin' it all he's got, captain!
  2037.
2038. Daybreak stands up, her legs wobble. When's the last time she had a drink? Her vision becomes blurry and she breathes heavily. She sees the large thing coming for her but her legs don't want to move anymore. Instead, she stands there and tries to summon up the last bit of her energy to try and hold up her hoof at the last minute, hoping he just run into her fist/hoof.
  2039.
2040. Gary fidgeted and stood, moving closer to the edge and behind Daybreak, looking at her concern. She sure didn't look like she was doing good out there, "Hey, Daybreak, don't get yourself killed, it's alright to back out!"

2050. Day stands firm, hoof extended. But she didnt have the strength left to stand he ground. Peyote feels a hard smack as she does manage to hit his chest, but the small mare goes tumbling....
  2051.
2052. ...but not too badly, as Defender flops down, catching her and skidding backwards a good five feet from the force, before the two of them come to a stop.
  2053.
  2054.
2055. “AAAAAND WE HAVE A WINNER!” the crowd buts into cheering, as suddenly Peyote is dragged to the center of the square, and lifted up high!
  2056.
2057. “HERE HE IS, PEYOTE, THE BRUISED CHAMPION!” the square quickly fills up as people surround and congratulate the griffon, someone stuffing a mug on one hand, and a bag on the other, consisting of the prize of 20 platinum Bits, and Amulet with a bold sea-green gem in he center, a Buffalo facing outwards from with side of it!
  2058.
2059. Meanwhile Defender of Honer pants a bit. “oof....ya Alright Day? Hey, someone get this champ some water please!” he yells out, but is mostly drowned out by the noise and celebrating.
  2060.
  2061.
2062. Gary had rushed after Daybreak as soon as she was tossed out, following her and full of worry. He already had water with him and rushed to Daybreak, trying to get her to drink, "Hey, hey! You alright, Day?
  2063.
2064. Peyote flops over on to the ground as he finishes the final push, the punch being the last ticket to seal the deal. His ears flick a little, as does his tail as they announce him the victor! He doesn't object to the rewards, merely rolling on to his back to pour the mug down his throat, and otherwise spends a few more moments letting the sick feeling clear itself enough for him to feel like walking. After a bit of time on the ground he staggers to all fours, and lets out a hoarse, but victorious squawk, and something resembling a respectful bow in Daybreak's direction
  2065.
2066. She weakly holds a hoof up, waving it lazily, " I demand a recount officer! " she says weakly, not making sense. Quickly she grabs the water and sips it before leaning her head back and sighing out in relief, " Aaaaahhh, that...was fun...took alot out of me! Give me...like...20 minutes and a midol..."
  2067.
  2068.
2069. Defender chuckles, looking at Gary. “help me get her up and on a bench....also whats midol? If she thinks she needs something more, I can call a medic over.”
  2070.
2071. Deciding on top of a buffalo was probably not the best place for her to be, Gary hefted her up, "Come on then, you idiot..." The gryphon grumbled, carrying her over so she could sit down in the stands and be properly cared for, "Good job on beating her though, Peyote!" He called back to the other gryphon with a laugh
  2072.
  2073.
2074. Peyote staggers a little more as he makes his way to the exit of the arena.
