  24. Introduction
  25.
  26. Most fun KoG deck in a while, got there last 2 months with Masked Heroes, so this is the first deck in a long while that deserved a decent explanation. No part of me wanted to tryhard the most recent KC Cup, especially since the only spot really worth effort was 1st place, so figured I would just have fun with something. So tried this deck out after a long while, which I thought was just a meme really. But it actually had an interesting playstyle and wasn't losing constantly; got to 9K in about 25 games, so clearly with some effort it could have qualified for the RRQ, and prolly get to roughly 15K-20K as a ceiling.
  27. Moved on to rank ladder, and went through all the rouge decks and bad players with ease. Got to L3 without much difficulty at all maybe a week after KC Cup, and chilled at L3. I partly wanted to wait for 5D's and just get 5 good wins with a synchro deck, but randomly played this for 5 games and got there HYPERS. Overall I'd say this deff shouldn't be on the Tier list; however if there was some tier representing decks like Archfiends, Noble Knights, Aliens, etc. this deck would be right at that level. With decent draws and correct play, the deck can beat literally anything, which feels pretty good.

  29. Deck Explanation/Analysis
  30.
  31. Most Bujin decks you'll see are 30 cards with both Grass Looks Greener and Ties of the Brethren; I lack the latter card since I'm cheap, so my 30 card builds are dependent on Grass. After multiple games where I milled literally all traps and Beast Warriors (how the fuck can I mill 2 Yamato's, then 3 Yamato's back to back within 5 games 👿), I decided to look for other versions. I think 20 card Balance, or perhaps My Monster Cards could work okay, but decided to get spicy and have fun with Transcendent Crystals.
  32. But the reason I would say this skill is potentially much better than the others, is the fact that you significantly thin the deck, and via the skill you always have the card Crystal Raigeki live. In all honesty, the card is completely busted in a Duel Links format. A pure 1-for-1 that can destroy any card the opponent controls is super good. And if you naturally draw into Pegasus, you can put other used copies of itself back to your s/t zone from the grave, making it hard for Crystal Raigeki's to ever brick. Like most people I always thought those Transcendent Crystal Silent Magician decks were memes, but SM backed by Raigeki is almost as good as being backed by Fate, no exaggeration. I also chose to use the card Rare Value, which is literally equivalent to Pot of Greed. Its a card you often have to set up for early, but can be worth it for your overall card economy. Didn't draw it late game too much where it's potentially more dead. Drowning Mirror Force is a new card that lesser players can just run right into, and be blown out by. But I think 3 Canadia in their place is likely better, for tournaments or just general consistency. Regalia is also a fine option as well.
  33. This deck aims for pure control through and through; you slow down the game and rely on 1-for-1 interactions to win. You generally want to open a hand with a Beast-Warrior, 1-2 Bujingi's, and any spell/trap. Bujin Yamato is the boss and a tcg level card in its own right. His ability to tutor any Bujin card is insane, and if you can set up your hand/grave correctly you should be able to win against various matchups. Mikazuchi imo is the only other Beast-Warrior worth running. Good bulk at 1900, and has a hand trap effect that's actually extremely useful, and very particular for this deck. To summon itself from the hand when Yamato or another Mika is destroyed, in any capacity, is amazing. Arasuda is at just 1600 by itself and a bit awkward to summon with its effect (Spellbook of Fate isn't popular enough on the ladder to warrant it), and Hirume is just too hard to summon entirely.
  34. A lot of the deck kind of builds itself, in that about 5-7 spell/trap slots, 5 Beast Warrior Bujins, and 3 Pegasus are pretty staple, wouldn't change those ratios or card choices much at all. The last 5-6 cards or so must be Bujingi's, as they are the cards you aim to dump with the skill. To directly enable any Bujingi you draw makes the overall strategy much faster, as well as thins the deck, getting you closer to your key cards in Yamato and Crystal Raigeki.
  35. Now because the deck is dependent on Bujingi's, you really want the appropriate ones for the most common situations. If the meta was extremely linear, it'd be a little easier to choose maybe 2 different ones, and try to dominate the most common matchups. But since there're various little interactions you'll run into, I chose to diversify which Bujingi's to run, only doubling up on Sinyou since it dominates Battle in general. Hare is quite good to guard from all the various destruction effects you see, from Treacherous to even obscure shit like Gatling Dragon in Stein cheese decks. Also useful to preemptively activate, for instance against Slugger's attack since Sinyou can't activate against it. Quilin is quite good to pop any face up threat, almost invaluable vs Amazons since it can take out both Queen and Onslaught. Centipede is quite good in that matchup as well, but backrow is prevalent in almost every deck, so its fairly necessary at least at 1 copy. Turtle is the most debatable, but it counters the very common Canadia and Econ take plays, and also negates the effect of Treacherous Trap Hole entirely, so both your monsters get protected, pretty clutch.

  37. Matchups/Conclusion
  38.
  39. Might write more on particular matchups later -_- Deck is fairly consistent in all honesty; ofc you want to open Yamato 100% of the time, but when you get a hang of the deck, you realize you can win without him, as long as you make the right plays. Try to dump multiple Bujingi's with the first use of the skill, as you thin the deck by 2 cards and raise your chances of Yamato or at least Raigeki significantly. Try to guess what kind of deck you're going against by the character; a Ties or Beatdown character is more likely to be Furries or Heroes, so try to prioritize Sinyou and Hare. An Odion or Weevil is more likely to be Amazons, so go for Quilin or Centipede first. It's simple on paper, but accurately predicting what you're going against, what particular cards you may be afraid of, etc. can make a huge difference. If you're staring down backrow, make a choice to dump Centipede, or perhaps Turtle, or even Mikazuchi if you feel your Yamato is deff getting destroyed next turn. Its a skill-intensive deck that rewards you for playing well. Also... people don't fucking read. I've lost count on how many people just refused to check my grave, and run right into a Sinyou-boosted Yamato, it's fucking amazing lmao. But yea deck is lit thanks for reading.
