Michael had never understood himself fully. His father having been a warrior of the sea.  His tribe having forgone their forested home to live on the coast, having built a fishing community and stayed mostly by the sea.

His father had always told him that the Sea was their home because the God they served had promised prosperity and bounty if they lived where they their grace could wash over them. And it was perhaps that part that explained why so many of the other tribe members had adaptations for living by the water. Some having more webbing between their hands and feet, or water resistant fur/scales/skin.

Though he seemed to been born with a different boon all together.  It seemed he was able to breath in water, as well as displaying an odd ability to repel water from his body. His hair and fur not able to become wet even when submerged . It'd never really been something he understood but he figured it was a Boon from the water god, for the faithful serves his father had displayed through out his life.
