  1. "Ha!" Scion laughed through his signature devilish grin.
  2. At the same time, a single loud knock on the door's mantle; and a long narrow obelisk-shaped object birthed itself from the middle of his chest.
  3. "Huk..." Scion gasped weakly as his arms dropped to his side, his rapier clanging loudly against the stone floor. Lagarian rose from his stool, alerted by this odd scene. Grasping the hilt of his own weapon, Lagarian's brow huddled and a scowl formed on his scarred face.
  4. Arabelle breathed in sharply, both surprised and frightened by what she was looking at.
  5. "Ara - " Scion gurgled, mouth filling with blood. The door's latch and hinges began to splinter and crack. The twisting metal of the door's frame whined through the small entryway.
  6. Arebelle's hands covered her mouth, "Sir Lagarian?" she whispered, her voice choked with fright. The door became removed of it's frame and escaped into the darkness of the night, and Scion with it. Lagarian's stance widened, he gripped his weapon tighter.
  7. "FORGEMASTER LAGARIAN" a resounding voice commanded from outside what used to be a door.
  8. "STEP OUTSIDE" the voice demanded.
  9. Arabelle's eyes darted back and forth between the shattered doorway and Lagarian.
  10. "AND BRING THE LADY ARABELLE WITH YOU." The mountainous voice added.
  11. Lagarian's eyes narrowed, as if he knew the owner of this cacophonous voice. Without delay, he leaned forward, and the golden semi-circle on his amulet began to faintly glow. The magic of this amulet surrounded him, and he dashed from the room with an unnatural speed.
  12. Immediately an axe head the size of a wagon wheel dropped from the air, explosively hewing a granite boulder in two. The axe's haft was the trunk of en entire oak tree. Only a heartbeat or two passed when a massive hand lowered to reclaim it.
  13. Lagarian stood tall beyond the cloud of dust and debris created from the giant's enormous weapon.
  14. "Garruth of the Low Hills" Lagarian's voice was raspy, but strong. "If Kataan sent you, then he must be desparate."
  15. Garruth hoisted his hulking axe over his shoulder, four time taller than Lagarian, with long arms covered in runes.
  16. "I COME TO KILL YOU FORGEMASTER" Garruth shouted, the only way he knew how to speak. "BUT I WILL TAKE ARABELLE AS MY PRIZE AS WELL."
