- The entire area was illuminated by the faint glow of the light emitting from the glass-like lake below. It danced off the walls of the deep cavern, and almost made the Underdark feel more hospitable, almost serene. Sadly, the party lacked the ignorance to believe such things about this realm any longer, having seen monsters that defied logic and lost people close to them. No, they knew beyond any shadow of a doubt this place may be the closest thing to a hell on Earth, and that now, at the lowest portion of it, that things would likely get much worse before it got better.
- Around the crystal surface of the water was a city that looked nothing like the great kingdom of Cairo or like any town the band had been to before. Large towers shot up, stretching as if to reach the top of the dark catacombs. Many of them were topped with odd glass orbs, impossible to see through, though large enough to hold several homes or courts. Odd lights pulsed around the city, as if it were itself a living organism. The large towers were connected by long, half-cylinders that ran along the edge of the water, with no windows or openings apparent in their sides.
- Rafa rubbed his hands together and looked down at the city below, then back to his fellow watch-mates. "Well, I think it is safe to assume this is the city of the glass pool. Right?" He received a mixed bag of shrugs and "Probabably" from the party members, before he turned back towards the city. "Then we can assume, if it is, that whatever lives there is probably dangerous. Especially since the piece of shit with the portal led us directly here. Now we just find a way down to it, get in, grab what we need, and never ever come back here again for any reason. Sound like a plan?"
- The night turned into day slowly, but this fact was betrayed to our band of heroes; in this world there was only ever darkness. Yet, it would grow much darker, still, before the dawn.
