- This, but with bigpones.

- ------------------------------
- >Unfortunately, it ignores the bait and foregoes the bouquet of flowers for your camera post's metallic sheen
- >The pony slowly encroaches, its shadow ever larger
- >It approached warily, stopping every few steps
- >The short distance was eaten up in a couple of minutes
- >The head was close, sniffing the air under the din of such a heavy weight crunching snow.
- >Thick winter coat nudged the plexiglas as its nose led it to a small gap in your enclosure
- >Huge nostrils steal some of the air in your fort with massive lungs
- >The pony's eyes look up from the crack to stare straight at you
- >This specimen is large enough, even when lowered, to be level with you
- >You have its interest as it turns its head this way and that and starts to circle your case
- >The observer is now being observed, like an animal in a cage
- >So close and so large is the creature that the glass becomes fogged in one place when she lingers, obscuring the view safe for the piercingly bright colors of the creature
- >A tongue runs along the exterior of the glass box to wipe away the condensation
- >The structure's frame itself wobbles and the joints try to flex under the bolts and hinges at the touch
- >A giant hoof dangerously reaches out towards your rickety plastic and metal shack.
- >It touches with a light thump, jostling the structure but not pressing any further
- >It lingers and you slowly bring up your own hand to touch the inside of the glass in the same spot
- >Even the frog of the hoof is so much bigger than the palm of your hand and you find yourself gawking
- >The hoof moved slightly as the pony leaned to see around its forelimb
- >It noticed where your hand was planted and you were blasted with light
- >When you blinked away the glare, you were looking at a crystal pony, reflecting and shining in the light
- >Incredibly rare, yet you have piqued this one's interest
- >What will happen when you need to leave?
- >You turn away from your journal to the massive eye looming just outside the glass
- >You don't know
- >The specimen carefully guided its hoof to a different side of the box and again let it linger
- >Under its watch, you slowly pushed your hand to the glass, positioned on the same spot the frog of the hoof was
- >A humanlike smile was etched across the pony's face
- >After you removed your hand it slumped onto its belly
- >The crystalline colors softly radiated over the snow as its body acted like a prism to scatter and distort the sun's rays
- >It pushed both forehooves on either side of the box this time, slapping against the plexiglas gently but hard enough to buckle the structure and briefly send a shiver of fear down your spine
- >The crushing force never came
- >Instead it watched passively to see what you would do, breath fogging in the cold air
- >You recover and hold up your hands
- >The pony's ears flick forward attentively and her lips part in wonder
- >You again matched hand for hoof and the pony lit up a little brighter
- >The game proceeded for some time until you realized this would be prime for some footage
- >You ready your camera and the pony leans closer to decipher what you are doing
- >It sniffs but fails to glean anything useful
- >It sits still, watching you, its bright crystalline form beginning to dull with a slow loss of entertainment
- >This is not the footage you wanted
- >You put down your camera and start to shuffle through your gear when you hear it moving around outside
- >You are greeted with it sitting on its haunches and holding up a huge clump of snow in its forehooves like it was your camera
- >You snatch up your camera and train it on the pony
- >The wad of snow is back on the ground as part of the endless snow drifts of the arctic
- >The pony blinks at you, a hint of a smile in its eyes
- >You put the camera down
- >It picks up snow in front of its face and stares at you with one eye from around the clump, the other looking into it like it was recording
- >You are quick to draw the camera to the ready but not fast enough
- >You try to trick the pony
- >You set the camera down on a box next to you
- >It is left on and facing the pony
- >It sits there
- >Doing nothing
- >The crystal body remains, a notice that somehow, the pony is still entertained
- >You hold a hand to one side of the box and the pony watches without much reaction
- >Whatever, this is still a rare encounter you can use
- >You keep the camera rolling and begin to talk about the amazing specimen
- >It is a rare sight to see one stay crystalized for so long and the display as it gets up and start to move away is dazzling
- >The sheer proximity is a treat to see something so large with such grace
- "Truly a beautiful creature and it is a special privilege to get to see it up close"
- >The pony finishes its last step and it pauses
- >Its ears flick back and its tail flicks
- >Its head tilts just enough for you to see a red glow on its cheeks before it walks into the distance
- >You wait another hour for a pony to show up but the snowy lands remain unchanged
- >You go out to retrieve your bait
- >You approach the flowers when a snow bank explodes
- >The pony is there, shining brightly in the afternoon sunlight
- >It regards you in silence and you try not to panic
- >You slowly twist just enough to see the glass enclosure behind you
- >Way too far away
- >The pony walks around you slowly, never taking its eyes off of you for more than a second
- >It reaches the bait bouquet of flowers
- >Slowly, it cranes its neck down and scoops them up
- >It chews thoughtfully and moves forward, staring intently at you
- >You activate the most time-honored and ancient wild animal photographer defense technique
- >You flop back into the snow and try not to move, keeping your eyes tightly shut
- >Playing dead does not seem to work this time
- >You hear the loud crunch of giant hooves sinking into the snow
- >The pony approaches and there is a loud thump beside you
- >You jump at the noise and open your eyes
- >The pony is also on its back in the snow, its own eyes less than dozen feet away.
- >You can see through the shimmering crystal body to the snow hills behind it
- >The two of you are still for a time before you look longingly to your shelter
- >The camera inside is facing an entirely different direction
- >You must go to get your camera, or at least your backup
- >You slowly get up, watching your companion for any sudden movement
- >It just blinks
- >You're on your third step when the ground rumbles
- >The pony is up on its hooves but otherwise does nothing in particular
- >You are followed back to your little shelter
- >When you pick up your camera and point it at the pony the creature stiffens up
- >You are treated to awkward silence as it stands there
- >You put down your video camera and the crystal pony leans back and lounges dramatically
- >A perfect pose
- >It looks at you holding the photographer's camera
- >No video on this one
- >The pony seems to be mulling something over, but maintains its pose
- >The loud snap of the camera shutter breaks the quiet and the pony shifts into a new position
- >It does this a couple more times when you try to switch back to your video
- >The noisy crunch of snow startles your hands into dropping the camera
- >You look up as your shelter becomes tinged with crystal color
- >It seems to smile at your empty, camera-less hands
- >The pony leans down and puckers its lips in a kiss on the roof of your ramshackle shack
- >It stares at you directly as your jaw hangs open
- >"They'll never believe you"
- >When you bring your video camera to the ready it is already walking away
- >Just before it vanishes behind a massive mound of snow, one of its eyes winks playfully
- >You did not see it again, even after waiting for over an hour
- >You eventually packed up and headed back
- >When you got back to camp the weather had eroded the lip mark off of the glass
- >You eagerly review the pictures and footage
- >"These are incredible, Anonymous"
- >The compliments continue until the very last few seconds
- >Everyone remains convinced there was something in its eye but you know the pony in the snow is out there waiting for you somewhere
