51. When the world is threatened by an ancient evil, the four adolescent turtles must reunite and overcome their faults in order to stand against it.
 52. After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things brewing in New York City. Tech-industrialist tycoon Max Winters revives four ancient stone warriors and enlists the help of the foot clan to help capture ancient monsters.
 53. This movie was great! I have always been a fan of the old school Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle series and have had high hopes for this movie. It was what I was waiting for. A small revival of the old school adding new elements to it. For me, the biggest surprise was that April actually could fight. I haven't seen the new series because I don't feel like it. So maybe I haven't picked up the fact that she knows how to fight, or maybe it's the fact that it's the first time all of us have seen her fight. I don't know. Anyway, back to the movie itself, you can tell that some of the elements of old school rings in this movie, especially the cheesy one-liners. It made me smile every time Michaelangelo has a cheesy dialog because it reminds me of what I've seen on TV every Saturday morning from when I was a kid. Better than I expected. Don't miss this. It's better if you watch it in theaters.

*On a side note* - At the time I watched this, there weren't very many people in the theater, but it wasn't empty either. I hope it doesn't flop because it deserves some good profits for its great achievement.
 54. Probably not the best movie ever. It was corny. It was cheesy. It contained the word "cowabunga" (although not conversationally). There are probably a whole lot of problems that I could think of if I felt like complaining.

But you know what, I DON'T feel like complaining. This is probably the only movie I've seen in the past year that I actually really wanted to see a second time. There was just something about it that I really loved. I couldn't tell you what it was, though. It is definitely a movie for kids. Maybe I have the feeling that if I had seen this movie 15 years ago, I would have gone to see it 10 times and then begged my mom to buy it on video, and I would have then watched it twice a day. There's certainly a heavy nostalgia factor for those of us in our twenties who used to watch the cartoon. But the movie is actually fairly different from the old cartoon. Certainly the characters seem different.

This might actually be a problem. I'm sure there are lots of fan boys who can't get past the differences. Some people are definitely going to say something like this about this movie: "Well, dude! It wasn't as good as a cartoon I watched when I was five!" to which I say "Dude, NOTHING is EVER going to be as good as a cartoon you watched when you were five. Including that same cartoon if you watched it now."

Some people will probably also dislike this movie because they have never liked Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles in any form, and find the idea of turtles who are ninjas silly and ridiculous. Well I hate to be the one to point this out, but children's fair has always been silly. Turtles who are also ninjas are no worse than rabbits who smoke cigars or mice who operate steam boats. Seriously, lighten up.

I am not going to say much about the animation. I don't know enough about making CGI to really give a proper critique. I will only say that I liked it a lot, and didn't think there was anything wrong with it. I'm sure there are some people who will hate the CG just because it is CG, and not people in suits. These people are infested with nostalgia for the old movies. Still, the character designs are a little different, and I'm sure there are some people who just won't like them.

The WORST thing I've heard about this movie is that the plot is too complicated for kids to follow. This criticism just makes me angry, because it's a huge lie. I hate the tendency modern movies made for younger audiences have of trying to be as simple and stupid as possible. There's no reason for it. I'm not even going to get into why it's wrong to show kids dumbed down movies, there are lots of people much smarter than me who have written about it.

So anyway, what I'm saying is that if you are a kid, or if you are still able to BE a kid, then you have a fairly good chance of enjoying this movie. But if you're hopelessly adult, you have probably lost the thing that would allow you to enjoy it.
 55. This all-CG reboot is missing the goofy excitement of the old TMNT.
