14. Gibs was a young dragon still when he attended his first Rockbreaker's Ceremony. The invitation came from a handful of Earth dragons who, though relative strangers to Gibs, were nonetheless willing to share their time and culture with the young ridgeback. Being a naturally curious sort, Gibs accepted the offer. The Ceremony was, to say the least, impressive: the dragons who greeted him were sober and kind, and treated him as one of their own without question. Their rituals were full of grace and reverence, heavy with the age and history of one of the oldest elements.
15.
16. Gibs left the Ceremony with a mantle of stone and crystal hewn from Dragonhome itself, and a deep respect and love for Earth. He resolved to incorporate Earth magics alongside his native Shadow, and has since devoted much of his life to learning how to use both types at once.
17.
18. The task of blending different elemental magics together is a difficult one, but Gibs feels himself equal to the challenge. He focuses on the sturdy, resolute nature of Earth to stay true to his goal, while keeping to the tricky creativity of Shadow to help him view setbacks from unexpected angles and arrive at new conclusions. Few of Shadeddusk Weyr understand quite why Gibs works as hard as he does to blend Earth and Shadow together, though most agree on one thing: Watching his efforts unfold is quite interesting.
