  1. [23:24] Byrve says, "--"
  2. [23:24] Byrve says, "Row back the other way."
  3. [23:24] Marigold says, "...um."
  4. [23:27] Laila says, "...go get it."
  5. [23:27] Marigold says, "Um... I'll take a horn..."
  6. [23:27] Marigold says, "I bet we could use it for somethin' cool..."
  7. [23:27] Laila says, "You're talking like you could even beat it."
  8. [23:27] Marigold says, "I could. It's tiny."
  9. [23:27] Laila says, "Tiny? Okay."
  10. [23:29] Marigold sniffles, and takes a moment to procure a sizeable rock from the shifting sands. Bouncing it from one clammy hand to the next, he pivots, reels an arm over his shoulder, and shamelessly pelts the rock toward the head of the presumably unintelligent beast.
  11.
  12. A bonk in the making, no doubt.
  13.
  14. "I bet it doesn' even know what's goin' on. Lights on but nobody home an' shit."
  15. (Marigold)
  16. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. [23:31] "Look at it, it has a boar in one hand and guts in the other. The thing probably don't even know what's going on right now."
  19.
  20. Was the topic at hand to deal with it? If so, he was on board, even if he'd suffered a grievous wound today. He'd still be ready, so, he watches with some rapt attention as the rock sails and bounces against the ogre like creature.
  21. (Byrve)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23.
  24. [23:31] Laila quirks an eyebrow as Marigold reaches for a rock to throw, propping a hand on her hip to watch from a safe distance. The monster was... well, still a monster, and as cocky as she might be, she wasn't entirely suicidal.
  25.
  26. It was why she hadn't thrown herself at any of the vampires the way Byrve had. She had a healthy sense of self preservation.
  27.
  28. "Probably," she says, following the rock's descent with her eyes, "But like... I dunno what else you'd expect from a monster. It's still gonna beat your brains in, I bet."
  29. (Laila)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. [23:32] Gluruk doesn't even pay much attention to the rock; it more so annoyed him that they believe he couldn't comprehend what they were saying about him.
  33.
  34. "Gluruk will make this clear; if throw something else over here will crush you into a blood puddle. Will be the third person today that has gotten their arm broken by Gluruk. If wish to tempt fate throw another rock."
  35. (Gluruk)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37.
  38. [23:36] Marigold, more than terrified, looks bewildered by the coherence with which the beast grumbles in response. With parted lips and a furrowed brow, he maintains his silence for a few fleeting moments.
  39.
  40. "Can I borrow one of your horns?" he inquires politely enough, swiping another rock from those torrid sands within which his boots were embed.
  41.
  42. Marigold was many things. Tactful and smart were not among them.
  43.
  44. He levels the missile and holds it for a long, thoughtful second, and with a 'hyup!' -
  45.
  46. It careens through the air with blistering speed, seeking to rattle noisily against one of two terrible horns. Were they as strong as they looked? Would they break on impact?
  47.
  48. It was an exciting prospect, really, and Marigold scarcely recognized his boundaries.
  49. (Marigold)
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. [23:42] The youth of Esshar would never learn each one looking to test the waters with Gluruk, but were they ready to accept what comes after? After the warning was given and they continued, he approaches them, slowly covering his body in rock.
  53.
  54. "Gluruk gave you the warning, but not listen. So don't blame for what happens next."
  55.
  56. The giant hand of the Ogre rises in the air, ready to smite the body with all his might. It seems the gods would continue testing him as he made his claim as the king of the Ogre's.
  57.
  58. Whether they remained to fight him was undetermined, but Gluruk would going with his striking motion.
  59. (Gluruk)
  60. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62. [23:43] Stepping back on the imminent approach of the Ogre, he stops on a backfoot and pulls free the sword he carried around. In an uncharacteristically poignant move, he awaits for the Ogre to strike first.
  63.
  64. Maybe it was the caution from before? He's uncertain, but regardless of the facts, there is true readiness in his eyes. "Here he comes." A warning to all of them.
  65.
  66. "Scramble!" Albeit that's useless, he's after the one who threw the rock. But, it felt good to yell.
  67. (Byrve)
  68. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  69.
  70. [23:46] In a flurry of clothes and wind, Laila leaps backwards as the ogre comes rushing towards them. It wasn't aiming for her, though-- she hadn't been the real instigator here, though she's uncertain how much the ogre could actually tell about that.
  71.
  72. "I told you!" she shouts, for a similar reason to Byrve: it felt good to yell.
  73.
  74. "Don't get squished!" she adds with another shout, half a taunt to Marigold.
  75. (Laila)
  76. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  77.
  78. [23:48] What had he expected? The beast to flee? To concede its horn to a child?
  79.
  80. Soft-skulled, Marigold's surprise as the beast approaches them is not feigned. He does not flee immediately, perhaps too twined in his rising fear to properly comprehend the situation at hand, baby-blue eyes follow the large appendage as it's lifted and swept down unto him.
  81.
  82. He's quick enough, though barely, whipped aside to crash, roll, and clamour across the sands. His rusted rifle finds itself withdrawn, iron-sights trained unto the forehead of the beast, right between the horns.
  83.
  84. And with a crack and flash of resplendent energy, starlight leers forth, a terrible discharge of energy that seeks to splat the Monsters brains across the sands.
  85.
  86. Though terrified, it was too little and too late to escape now.
  87. (Marigold)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [23:54] {Won Aggressive RPB against Marigold}
  91. [23:54] ** Gluruk has inflicted an injury upon Marigold. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "") **
  92. [00:04] Yet another person wishes to test the might of the Ogre king for whatever reason, but the ground around them would change with a stomp of his foot. The entire area was fit for the king, as sand surrounded the boy's boy.
  93.
  94. "Foolish of you to mess with the king while deep in thought now you suffer the punishment."
  95.
  96. With his hand now in the air, he'd make a fist, and the sand would crush the boy's arm. Gluruk felt no remorse for them, and this would be a lesson to the entire group.
  97.
  98. However, there wasn't a need to harm the boy anymore; he was a monster, but he wasn't a monster. So he shouts into the sky while beating his chest, causing the bone-plated armor to break again.
  99.
  100. "RAWRRRRRRR"
  101.
  102. He looked at the group of children standing off to the side of them; he shoos them away.
  103.
  104. "Take friend and leave, and don't bother Ogre's or will come back for you."
  105.
  106. Guru wouldn't tolerate any abuse to Ogre anymore while they weren't the smartest; He was tired of people picking them off. With his help, they'd rise once again, and the people of Escher would respect them.
  107. (Gluruk)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.
  110. [00:11] Brash and overly confident in his own strength, Marigold is eager to duel, bounding across the sands with rifle in hand. He held his own, certainly, but were this a battle of life and death, simply holding ones own would not be enough.
  111.
  112. Each passing second fatigues the boy who'd not yet grown into his own body. Each blow cracks another bone, or bruises another patch of flesh. He is assailed by all angles, be it by a vortex of twisting, buffeting sands, or great pillars of rock, erected from the bowels of the desert.
  113.
  114. True, he endures far longer than many his age might. Far longer than his non-magi counterparts would.
  115.
  116. But simply enduring was not winning, and in time, his defeat is sealed with the diabolical crack of bone, and he, fragile as one might expect, screams out in agony.
  117.
  118. Marigold scrambles, arm hanging loose. He didn't care for the horn. He didn't much care for his friends, either, so sure they'd escape the clutches of the Ogre.
  119.
  120. About all he did care for was his swift retreat from these torrid plains, battered and bested by the bear he'd so boldly poked.
  121.
  122. Maybe next time would be different.
  123. (Marigold)
  124. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  125.
  126. [00:16] Though she'd taunted him, she hadn't actually wanted to see Marigold's brain splatter all over the desert sand.
  127.
  128. Luckily... despite the gruesome fight, Marigold manages to escape any particularly deadly injuries. At least his arm looks broken more than utterly ruined, and the ogre now looks absolutely terrifying rather than a stupid, hulking creature. Laila hesitates, a shimmer in the air around her as if she's considering going after it herself, but--
  129.
  130. --well, Marigold starts to run, so she shakes her head and follows after him.
  131.
  132. "I told you so!" she shouts again, just for the sake of it. They'd been overconfident, after something as dumb and useless as an ogre's horn, and now they were paying for it. For Laila, at least, it was just the embarrassment of her bluster being called out as she ran away from the massive ogre.
  133.
  134. There's a single glance over her shoulder to make sure Byrve isn't about to do something stupid, but other than that... she runs.
  135. (Laila)
  136. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  137.
  138. [00:22] Running and fleeing was certainly an option. He doesn't, though, and instead sizes up the soon to be King of Ogres. They'd more than showed their strength, and he was not at full capacity.
  139.
  140. As a teenager, he was far from being as 'able' as Adults, but either way.
  141.
  142. He wouldn't be walking away unless he was a victor, or had an equally broken arm like his friend. "She did tell ya!" He taunts as well, even if he's about to make the same mistake.
  143.
  144. "Okay, Ogre, I gotta pay you back for what ya just did to my friend. So, you know. Ready up!"
  145. (Byrve)
  146. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  147.
  148. [00:25] Gluruk shook his head it seems that people would never learn no matter who they are. The ogre covered his body in rock again, and refused to remove from this spot. If more of them wanted to fight then he'd accept the battle by all means.
  149.
  150. "Come then.
  151.
  152. He said plainly waiting the boys friend to approach him; it seems that one wasn't enough, but perhaps two would make them learn their lesson. The ogre huffs as he waits for the boy.
  153. (Gluruk)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [00:32] {Lost Aggressive RPB against Byrve}
  157. [00:32] ** Byrve has inflicted an injury upon Gluruk. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "") **
  158. [00:41] The rush of battle pumped wildly as he focused. It told him, come, and so he did. Just as commanded he'd put little distance between them regardless of the personal magics that rose to the ogres assistance. Such magics happened to be very. . useful in this specific terrain.
  159.
  160. On his land, in his place, there was a commanding force that had to be overcome. And with it, a challenge was issued. Byrve only retreats where he must, knowing that his body has not fully come into itself. He is still but a growing young man, he must take it in such a way or else.
  161.
  162. "Cease."
  163.
  164. He issues his own demands, calmly said and yet he felt as though he'd shouted. Such was his focus. In his palms he wielded his wrought iron, steaming hot with the utilization of lightning. The longer the battle? The hotter it became.
  165.
  166. Wehnt hey reach the end of their little dance, he wails loudly, allowing the iron-barker to make a statement across the Ogre's features, leaving shallow cuts along the face.
  167.
  168. Loosing another ferocious cry cleaves hunks of flesh and sinew from the arm section, to which he deems a fitting end. "That's it, you're done!" He has to be with an injury like that, or so the young magi hoped. He couldn't keep going much longer. "Get outta here, your stink's messing up my sense of smell. Nasty sack of shit."
  169. (Byrve)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [00:47] Gluruk chuckles; he found it funny how bold one thought Gluruk wasn't a child, nor would he get into a name-calling match with children.
  173.
  174. He cracked his neck and began to count the number of battles it's taken before he was finally beaten.
  175.
  176. "Took four battles for me to lose finally; we'll fight again when battle wounds heal from previous fights."
  177.
  178. With that, the Ogre took his leave; it seems fighting four people back to back is where he met his limit. Now with a wound on his body, he should get that taken care of soon.
  179.
  180. He believes there to be a medic in the mire; if so he could return to roaming around Esshar.
  181.
  182. As the Ogre walks away, he chuckles again.
  183.
  184. "Congratulations on being the only one to beat Gluruk, but it won't happen again."
  185.
  186. The chuckling ceased, and the Ogre was gone.
  187. (Gluruk)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. [00:49] Gluruk says, "Heal Gluruk."
  191. [00:49] Gluruk says, "Finally wounded after four battles."
  192. [00:50] Unlaya says, "Oh."
  193. [00:52] Unlaya says, "Let me see the wound."
  194. [00:56] The wounds would mostly be cuts, external injuries as she used her Wellspring to slowly start to seep into the wounds, cleansing them while she made sure to check for any other kinds of infection in their body.
  195.
  196. "Pleasantly, it is only artificial damage mostly, a deep cut here or there. But you should recover in no time." She spoke positively before slowly starting to apply bandages to the deeper cuts.
  197.
  198. A very simple procedure.
  199. (Unlaya)
  200. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  201.
  202. [00:57] Gluruk beats on his chest a sign of his thankfulness to the woman, but his anger only grew.
  203.
  204. "Fought so many until couldn't fight anymore will punish later make that a promise."
  205.
  206. Gluruk leans against the wall, and slides down resting on the ground. He should let the wounds heals before attempting anymore battles.
  207.
  208. "Many thanks."
  209. (Gluruk)
