- * shockingDevelopment has begun trolling groundedMythologist
- <shockingDevelopment> Hey. I... don't really know you.
- <shockingDevelopment> But I was directed here by lysander.
- <groundedMythologist> Who are you?
- <groundedMythologist> Oh boy, what does Lysander want?
- <shockingDevelopment> I'm Kervad. Apparently the end of the world is happening or something?
- <groundedMythologist> Guess so. Happened to my dad too.
- <shockingDevelopment> ((Crap, forgot quirk.))
- <groundedMythologist> I'm Aphrodite, but you can call me Phrody.
- <shockingDevelopment> Oh; That's interesting;
- <shockingDevelopment> Alright;
- <shockingDevelopment> So; Do you need help?
- <groundedMythologist> With the game?
- <groundedMythologist> Not sure, not much has happened yet.
- <shockingDevelopment> It seems to be more of a transportation utility, but yes;
- * groundedMythologist looks at the game screen to see if anything has happened after seeing many strangers.
- <groundedMythologist> But while we're waiting, tell me about yourself Kervad
- <yzabtech> Remember what happened when MR got replaced with SD?
- <shockingDevelopment> I'm a tech that became a farmer;
- <shockingDevelopment> I design and improve farm equipment;
- <shockingDevelopment> And now I'm apparently no longer on alternia;
- <groundedMythologist> Something... happened on the screen.
- <groundedMythologist> A person showed up with SD. I assume that is you.
- <shockingDevelopment> Yes.
- <groundedMythologist> Im so confused by this
- <shockingDevelopment> I am too;
- <shockingDevelopment> It appears to be similar tech to that syladexes use;
- <shockingDevelopment> Transportation into some other place;
- <shockingDevelopment> It makes little to no sense;
- <groundedMythologist> It seems so
- <groundedMythologist> it doesn't make sense but it just works
- * groundedMythologist tries to move around in-game
- <yzabtech> GM can't because you're still inthat menu.
- * groundedMythologist moves cursor around to examine the controls
- <shockingDevelopment> ((Can I get clued in on how Sburb works in this session? Movement?)
- <yzabtech> There are eight boxes of people, and you can drag them into the boxes on the circle.
- * groundedMythologist clicks on my picture and moves it to a box
- <yzabtech> SD is after Lysander clockwise.
- <yzabtech> GM drags hers to the one right after Lysander, clockwise.
- <yzabtech> A button pops up on both of your screens. "Confirm Entry Order Segment [SD->GM]?"
- * groundedMythologist clicks yes
- <groundedMythologist> Guess there's no going back now, kervad
- * Kaiserbot[Dice] (~Kaiserbot@50-233-23-131-static.hfc.comcastbusiness.net) has joined
- <shockingDevelopment> Yes;
- <shockingDevelopment> /me opens his erver.
- <yzabtech> ((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNdmIl4xuo8 ))
- <yzabtech> ((did kervad press the button))
- <shockingDevelopment> Yeah, sorry.
- <yzabtech> Kervad's screen disintegrates and reforms to see a human girl at her computer.
- <shockingDevelopment> Ah, I see how this works;
- <shockingDevelopment> So, I need to place some machinery in your home; Is this alright with you?
- <groundedMythologist> Oh goodness, guess it really is getting real.
- <shockingDevelopment> Unfortunately; I have no idea how software manages to physically relocate large machinery into various rooms, but it does so;
- <yzabtech> You have 3 options.
- <yzabtech> You've seen them before.
- <yzabtech> Also a pre-punched card.
- * shockingDevelopment attempts to place all the machinery in the most efficient way possible
- <yzabtech> Roll 1d20+INT to do so.
- <shockingDevelopment> !roll 1d20+2
- <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+2 --> [ 1d20=5 ] | {7}
- <shockingDevelopment> ((lol, welp))
- <yzabtech> You place the machinery down, alright.
- <yzabtech> I don't think dressers are supposed to do that.
- <groundedMythologist> Good god kervad
- <groundedMythologist> What did you place?
- <shockingDevelopment> ((Apparently these controls are not as accurate as I thought; I'm sorry if I ruined some of your things;
- <shockingDevelopment> ((no (( there
- <shockingDevelopment> I placed three machines down;
- <groundedMythologist> It's alright
- <shockingDevelopment> The tallest one should be near you; It has a lid which needs to be opened;
- * groundedMythologist head over to the machine
- <groundedMythologist> How do I open it?
- <shockingDevelopment> ((back))
- <groundedMythologist> ((huh?))
- <shockingDevelopment> I think you can either place something very heavy on it, or turn the wheel with a good deal of strength;
- <shockingDevelopment> ((Had to use the bathroom lol))
- <groundedMythologist> Let's give it a shot
- * groundedMythologist grabs onto the wheel and attempts to turn it
- <yzabtech> Roll for strength.
- <groundedMythologist> !roll 1d20+0
- <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+0 --> [ 1d20=1 ] | {1}
- <groundedMythologist> ((lol))
- <shockingDevelopment> ((XD))
- <groundedMythologist> ((fug))
- <yzabtech> You somehow manage to UNtwist the wheel.
- <yzabtech> Roll again.
- <groundedMythologist> !roll 1d20+0
- <Kaiserbot[Dice]> rolled 1d20+0 --> [ 1d20=10 ] | {10}
- <groundedMythologist> ((lol better))
- <yzabtech> Alright there we go.
- <yzabtech> The lid pops off, and a glowing orb pops out.
- * groundedMythologist looks at the orb
- <groundedMythologist> Okay, now what>
- <groundedMythologist> ?*
- <yzabtech> Throw something at it.
- <yzabtech> What else do you do with orbs like that?
- * groundedMythologist looks around
- <shockingDevelopment> You need to put something that can be personified into the orb;
- <shockingDevelopment> Or at least something that when personified you can deal with;
- <shockingDevelopment> Apparently;
- <groundedMythologist> During the end of the world, i might as well let one thing i like the most be around.
- <shockingDevelopment> Indeed;
- * groundedMythologist grabs the game Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain and throws it into the orb
- <groundedMythologist> Perfect
- <shockingDevelopment> Also, you will need to spin the wheel to get a large colored cylinder;
- * groundedMythologist spins the wheel again
- <yzabtech> The game gets thrown into the orb.
- <yzabtech> You spin the wheel, getting a cylinder as expected.
- <yzabtech> There's a timer on the machine.
- <yzabtech> 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
- <shockingDevelopment> I don't know what happens when that runs out;
- <shockingDevelopment> I would rather not find out;
- <groundedMythologist> NOW the fun begins
- <groundedMythologist> Me either
- <shockingDevelopment> There is another, longer machine that you can put the cylinder in;
- * groundedMythologist grabs the cylinder
- * shockingDevelopment deploys the card in front of the machine
- <shockingDevelopment> I put what appears to be a damaged captchalogue card in front of the machine;
- <shockingDevelopment> Use both in it;
- * groundedMythologist walks to the machine and places the cylinder and places the card
- <yzabtech> ((brb))
- <shockingDevelopment> ((k.))
- <shockingDevelopment> ((Also, my time estimate was wildly off because I thought it was later than it was. I need to leave sometime between 20 and 1 hour 20 minutes, my choice.))
- <groundedMythologist> ((okay))
- <yzabtech> ((back))
- <yzabtech> This is going quickly.
- <yzabtech> The cylinder is carved, and there's still a whole minute and 45 seconds to spare.
- <shockingDevelopment> Interesting; It looks different from mine; I hope that doesn't matter;
- <shockingDevelopment> You use it on the large machine; I put it in the next room;
- * groundedMythologist examines the cylinder
- <yzabtech> It's smoothly carved.
- <yzabtech> Too smooth.
- <yzabtech> It doesn't even look real.
- <yzabtech> It's weird.
- <groundedMythologist> Hm...
- * groundedMythologist takes cylinder to the next machine
- <yzabtech> Two pedestals, one small and one large.
- * groundedMythologist places it on the large pedestal
- <shockingDevelopment> I think you have to put it on the smaller pedestal;
- <groundedMythologist> Oh, you sure?
- <shockingDevelopment> It scans things;
- <shockingDevelopment> Which I suppose makes the carved cylinder a bar code?
- <groundedMythologist> Well, alright
- <groundedMythologist> You know more than i do about this
- * groundedMythologist moves it to the smaller pedestal
- <yzabtech> 1 minute and 15 seconds.
- <yzabtech> With a flash of light, a potted plant and a watering can appears in the center of the large pedestal.
- <yzabtech> They both appear to be made of the same stuff the cylinder is made of.
- <shockingDevelopment> Crap;
- <groundedMythologist> Hm... this is odd
- <shockingDevelopment> This is different from what I had to do!
- <shockingDevelopment> Uh;
- <shockingDevelopment> Hm; You need to do something with it;
- <groundedMythologist> I feel like this is pretty straightforward
- <shockingDevelopment> Probably water the plant?
- * groundedMythologist grabs the watering can and leans it over the plant to release water
- <groundedMythologist> That's what I was thinking
- <yzabtech> The plant is now watered. Wait for it..
- <yzabtech> 30 second.
- <yzabtech> 15...14...13...
- <yzabtech> 12...11.....
- <yzabtech> 10, 9, 8, 7, 6....
- <groundedMythologist> This feels like the end, Kervad
- <yzabtech> 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
- <yzabtech> Oh, there is it.
- <yzabtech> there it is*
- <shockingDevelopment> Oh no;
- <yzabtech> The plant grows a bit, and reality disintegrates around you.
- <groundedMythologist> It was nice meeting you
- <groundedMythologist> ((u tried))
- * shockingDevelopment lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
- <yzabtech> You see a brief flash of a dodecahedron.
- <shockingDevelopment> You made it; That was too close; I don't want to know what happens if you don't make it in time;
- <yzabtech> Like something's trying to regain form, but...can't.
- <groundedMythologist> Me either... What is going on?
- <yzabtech> It disappears, and you're in your house once more.
- <yzabtech> ((Karvad didn't see it))
- <yzabtech> ((Kervad*))
- <groundedMythologist> This is so odd...
- <shockingDevelopment> You are now caught up to where I am;
- <shockingDevelopment> So, now we are both in the dark;
- <shockingDevelopment> :(
- <groundedMythologist> I'm going to investigate a bit...
- * groundedMythologist walks to the window and looks outside
- <yzabtech> You look outside, and you see a small circle of neon-green grass around your house, but aside from that, there's...nothing.
- <yzabtech> An endless, artificial chrome landscape stretches before you.
- <yzabtech> You see villages dotted across this landscape, with the occasional hill. It looks like some really crazy landscape, mountains even, are...you can't put your finger on it. Supposed to be here?
- <yzabtech> But they aren't, like they got...stolen. Taken away.
- <groundedMythologist> What the hell...
- <shockingDevelopment> Exactly;
- <yzabtech> You can see a strange creature that appears to be made of rock and glowing through the cracks outside your window. It cannot see you.
- <yzabtech> It's vaguely humanoid, but does not have a face. It only has a number.
- <yzabtech> "118".
- * groundedMythologist grabs a telescope and looks at it
- <yzabtech> It glows radioactively, with properties you cannot distinguish easily.
- <groundedMythologist> It feels like im in a radioactive canister...
- <shockingDevelopment> Be careful then;
- <yzabtech> Welcome to the Land of Ruins and Energy.
- <shockingDevelopment> Burns are bad; I try to avoid such materials and reactions in my designs;
- <groundedMythologist> I wish i could avoid it.. it's my whole land
