- Only use the intended game mechanics and features to progress through the game. Glitches and exploits are not allowed.
- All standard gameplay settings and difficulties are allowed.
- Any power-ups or upgrades that can be obtained through normal gameplay are allowed, including both mandatory and optional upgrades.
- Any sequence-breaking techniques that do not involve glitches or exploits are allowed, as long as they do not significantly alter the intended game progression or provide an unfair advantage.
- Time-saving techniques such as wall-jumping, ledge-grabbing, and precise aiming are allowed, as long as they do not involve any glitches or exploits.
- The use of any external devices or software to alter the game's performance or graphics is not allowed.
- The use of any cheat codes or other exploits that provide an unfair advantage is not allowed.
- Any glitch or unintended behaviour that occurs during the run must be immediately corrected or the run will be considered invalid.
- The timer for the run starts at the moment the player gains control of Samus and ends when the final boss is defeated and the credits begin.
- All runs must be recorded and submitted for verification, and any runs that do not meet the above criteria will be disqualified.
- This rule set should allow for a fair and competitive glitchless speedrun of Metroid Prime Remastered, while still allowing for some flexibility in terms of sequence-breaking techniques and time-saving strategies.
