Based on detailed data analysis, Dark Orbit rolls the fairly when calculating
if an equipment upgrade attempt was successful or not. That is to say that a
70% chance to upgrade equipment successfully will succeed around 70% of the
time and will lose around 30% of the time. In a few number of attempts, this
average may be skewed a bit one way or another. But the more upgraded
attempts you make over time, the closer your outcomes will approach the
theoretical probability.
Where we can save uri, is in understanding how DO
has priced a particular percentage chance of success for upgrading a given
equipment level. We can save more uri on lower level equipment upgrades by
shotgunning several cheaper attempts (even if we lose many of them). However,
as our level of equipment rises, DO has priced the lower level percentage
chances of success such that they are no longer an advantage over time.
In
fact, many of them will end up costing you more uri in the long run as
opposed to saving you any uri at all. Basically, we need to use higher and
higher percentages as our equipment level rises. Even still there is uri to
be saved over the cost of a 100% chance of success upgrade.
