A washed up monster chaser convinces the U.S. Government to fund a trip to an unexplored island in the South Pacific. Under the guise of geological research, the team travels to "Skull Island". The soldiers in the movie are shown as absolute idiots that have no respect for anything/anyone around them. Being a soldier myself, I took offense that this is how they they are shown on screen. All soldiers portrayed here are said to have fought in Vietnam. Yet, they are stupid characters who don&#39;t know how to walk quietly in the jungle; joke around when their mates are dying; attack the ape within arm&#39;s reach; destroy the environment without second thought; and don&#39;t know how to hold a rifle. Yet, the scientists and photographer know more about weapons and strategy. Directed and written by children. I was positively surprised by this movie. I got curious about it because of the pretty strong cast playing in it and I find myself enjoying this very refreshing and entertaining Monster/action movie with very nice visuals. And because this film is about a monster and action I&#39;m quite surprised by reviewers complaining about that things aren&#39;t realistic enough. In these sort of movies one shouldn&#39;t look for too much realism, but rather enjoy all the fantasy elements and impossible, but pretty great action scenes. If you&#39;re in for some good action and like monster movies, definitely give this one a go. <br/><br/>Action: 8 Visual: 8 Acting: 6.5

However, in this film, it&#39;s mentioned that Kong has been around for a long time and will continue to grow.
