  24. [1] Summoning your first job/overview
  25. =============================
  26.
  27. >I just finished the tutorial. What now?
  28. Now, you should probably summon a job card if possible. The starter 3 jobs are fine for
  29. clearing content in chapters 1 and 2, but you want to make the jump to an actual job
  30. ASAP. Summoned jobs have higher stats than the jobs you can reach by grinding the starter 3.
  31.
  32.
  33. >I can't summon a job right now.
  34. It takes 6 summon tickets or 3,000 magicite (500 magicite = one ticket)
  35. to summon a job (a combination of the two can be used if you're lacking
  36. in one - for example, one could use 3 summon tickets and 1,500 magicite)
  37.
  38. The starter jobs will be good enough to help you clear out chapters 1 and 2,
  39. but don't rely on them beyond that.
  40.
  41.
  42. >Can I use magicite to summon?
  43. NO. Yes, the option is there, but save your magicite for the Mobius Gift Box.
  44. The Gift Box gives a shitton of goodies (including 6 summon tickets to replace
  45. the cost of 3000 magicite) and boosted EXP for one month.
  46.
  47. SAVE your magicite until you have 3000. Already bought the box? Keep saving
  48. for the next one and if you manage to get more than 3000, then you could
  49. probably get away with spending the extra on whatever.
  50.
  51.
  52. >What's the difference between the 3 job classes?
  53. Warriors: Balanced between the other 2 classes, high ATK
  54. Mage: Low HP and ATK, but able to shit out a ton of damage when enemies are broken.
  55. Ranger: Low ATK, but can easily break enemies. Tend to have more turns than the other 2 as well.
  56.
  57.
  58. >WAH WAH I DIDN'T GET THE CLASS I WANTED
  59. Better luck next time, kupo!
  60.
  61. In all seriousness, don't be to angry over what you summon. There's always the next summon and having
  62. one job to work with helps give you direction over what type of cards you should be focusing on.
  63.
  64. =============================
  65. [2] Obtaining currency
  66. =============================
  67.
  68. >So how do I get more summon tickets?
  69. Playing the game. They can rarely be found in chests scattered around the world,
  70. and you can get them from clearing out chapters. Events also tend to have them
  71. as rewards, so check the ingame news for what you can find. The Mobius Gift box gives 6 of them
  72. out for purchasing it as well.
  73.
  74.
  75. >What about ability tickets?
  76. These are much more common, and are what you usually will find in a chest. They are
  77. also given out through logging in each day (6 per login bonus) and doing the daily
  78. task (1 each day).
  79.
  80.
  81. >Magicite?
  82. Always check the distiller. It takes a whole 16 hours to fill completely, but you should
  83. draw from it whenever possible to help avoid overflow and wasted magicite.
  84.
  85.
  86. >Crystals?
  87. Tend to be even rarer than tickets. You can get a couple from clearing out every circle
  88. in the chapters (this includes the arena in Chapter 2). Bosses can also drop them rarely.
  89.
  90.
  91. >Gil?
  92. Selling cards. Gil however, is mostly useless outside of augmenting cards. The game even
  93. acknowledges this if you check the ingame shop.
  94.
  95. =============================
  96. [3] Choosing ability cards
  97. =============================
  98.
  99. >Ability tickets?
  100. Ability tickets are a form of ingame currency used to purchase ability cards from the shop.
  101. They can also be used to upgrade the ability levels of your cards (more on that later).
  102.
  103.
  104. >What cards should I pick?
  105. First off, you want to pick cards that:
  106. a) are of the same class as your job (that you hopefully summoned)
  107. b) are elements usable by your job
  108. You can sort the shop by element and job class if the icons somehow aren't clear enough for you.
  109.
  110. Offensive cards (most of the ones in the shop) come in 3 different varieties (different from
  111. their job class). They are single target, "cone type" (represented by the Wi-Fi symbol)
  112. or AoE (represented by a circle/gear looking icon).
  113.
  114. Here's the gray zone: everyone will recommend something different in terms of these 3
  115. cards. Personally speaking, I would prioritize take ST cards, then big AoE, then cone, but
  116. to each his own.
  117.
  118. Support cards (pink hearts) heal you slighty (unless the card is Cure or Yuna's Song of Life, in which
  119. it will heal for more) and bestow secondary effects.
  120.
  121. Do also note that you can spend an increased amount of tickets to buy a card with maxed out
  122. skillseeds and ability levels, though if you're willing to endure the grind, this isn't neccessary.
  123.
  124.
  125. >What support cards should I take?
  126. Cait Sith if you started late and need a healing card. It eventually gets the ability
  127. to be casted without using up a turn, which can put it over Yuna.
  128.
  129. Hades is a popular choice for classes that do a lot of damage with basic attacks.
  130.
  131. Moogle is nice for mages to get big numbers when broken.
  132.
  133. Alternatively, you could always borrow someone else's support card as a rental and pack
  134. your own offensive cards. Support cards can be used by any class, so it may be easier to follow
  135. a ton of support cards instead of specific cards to one class.
  136.
  137.
  138. =============================
  139. [4] Card mechanics
  140. =============================
  141.
  142.
  143. >Card fusion?
  144. Basically, fusing cards raises the EXP level, though there are other effects discussed below.
  145.
  146.
  147. >Skillseeds?
  148. These are used to develop your summoned classes skills. Different cards give a mixture
  149. of skill seeds. You can raise these by fusing cards of the same element together.
  150.
  151.
  152. >Ability levels?
  153. This is the actual attack power of the card. Power refers to damage dealt, and break power
  154. is how much of the orange gauge you take off when you use this card. These are trickier to raise:
  155. to do so, you need to fuse the same ability cards together, not just element. (Ex: Fuse a "Fire Sword"
  156. card into another "Fire Sword")
  157.
  158. Once the ability card hits a certain level, you have the chance to unlock extra skills for it.
  159. Unlocking the extra skill is random and takes longer depending on whether or not it is the
  160. first, second, third, etc... skill the card has.
  161.
  162.
  163. >Card augmenting?
  164. Augmenting a card raises its' rarity level. Depending on the rank, you'll need different ingredients
  165. to raise a card's rarity. More on this later.
  166.
  167. 3* cards need Growstars to be augmented. These cards are limited and are usually given out as login rewards
  168. for logging in and grabbing every item. They are also occasionally found in events.
  169.
  170.
  171. =============================
  172. [4] THE GRIND
  173. =============================
  174. Buckle up. It's gonna be a long one.
  175.
  176. Before we start, however, be aware of Mobius Day, which happens on every day of the month
  177. containing an 8. (8th, 18th, 28th) If possible, plan around these days because the Exploration Region
  178. will have a 2x skillseed bonus for all elements. Ability fusion and unlocking rates also go up.
  179.
  180.
  181. >How do I get more skillseeds?
  182. Consider creating a deck using only the element you need. Once it's availiable to you,
  183. head out for the Exploration Event. Different skillseeds get bonuses depending on the day,
  184. with Sunday granting a bonus to all.
  185.
  186.
  187. >What do I do with these monster drops?
  188. Ideally, hang on to one copy if it's a lowbie card (1*, 2* type cards).
  189.
  190. The reason for this is because you can augment monster cards using rare drops from
  191. other boss type monsters. Once augmented, all monsters will drop a 2*/3* card instead of
  192. the basic level.
  193.
  194. Most trash mob cards lose the "lesser" prefix and become actual abilities once they hit 3*.
  195. More importantly, this means that you will be able to fuse these cards into store-bought ones to
  196. raise ability levels, removing the need to use tickets to do so. For example, Blue Dust Mages drop
  197. Lesser Blizzard at 1*/2*. Once it is augmented to 3*, it becomes Blizzard and can be fused into the
  198. store-bought Fafnir card.
  199.
  200. In order to augment trash cards, you'll need drops from specific bosses. If you look at the augment card
  201. section, and tap on a card that's been grayed out, you can see what mats you'll need and what boss monster
  202. will drop them. Most of the time. See section [4b].
  203.
  204. >So why use store cards as opposed to monster drops?
  205. Most trash mob cards cap at 3*, while store cards can be augmented up
  206. to 4*. As a result, store cards are generally stronger in the long run
  207. and get helpful abilities such as Break Damage Limit.
  208.
  209.
  210. >I need EXP!
  211. Once you aquire Mystic Tablets (from doing the daily tasks), you can travel
  212. to the Shrine of Trials for 3 Tablets. In there, you'll find cactuars of different
  213. races. Silver = EXP, gold = Gil, and green = skillseed fusion chance.
  214.
  215. If you're low leveled, killing cactuars can give a good amount of EXP for your deck. To help maximize your time
  216. there, bring one of each element you can carry and hope the cactuars are weak to one of them. Obviously,
  217. make sure to play at double speed and turn on Quickstart to save a couple of seconds, and throw your
  218. cactuars into the card bank to deal with later. It should also be noted that the auto battle AI is good
  219. at guessing the elemental weakness of each Cactuar.
  220.

  356. =============================
  357. [5] Multiplayer
  358. =============================
  359.
  360. >How do I access it?
  361. After clearing chapter 1, you have access to the Ring of Braves on the
  362. World Map. In there, you can play a multiplayer mode where you face off
  363. against baddies with 3 other Wols. Stamina used here is seperate from stamina
  364. used during singleplayer.
  365.
  366. Technically, you can enter as soon as you finish chapter 1, but in reality,
  367. you should stay far away from it until you've at least finished the 3rd skill
  368. seed panel for your job. Otherwise, you'll likely be a corpse 2 turns in and
  369. people will be upset at you.
  370.
  371.
  372. >How does it differ from singleplayer?
  373. First off, all classes are sorted into 4 "sub-classes" that define your
  374. role online. KNOW YOUR ROLE. They are as follows:
  375.
  376. Attacker: DPS. Use your most powerful attacks while the boss is broken.
  377.
  378. Breaker: Breaks the boss. Ideally, you want to use only normal attacks
  379. since the team is relying on you to get breaks quick and often.
  380.
  381. Defender: Tank. Can draw fire from the boss with the appropiate card and
  382. element drives used by a defender are shared with everyone.
  383.
  384. Healer/Support: Healing. Heart/support cards become AoE and affect the whole party.
  385.
  386.
  387. >How should the flow of multiplayer go?
  388. At it's most simplest...
  389.
  390. 1). Attackers remove orange gauge
  391. 2). Breakers remove red
  392. 3). Attackers unload on boss
  393. 4). repeat until dead
  394. All while defenders and healers do their best to keep the group alive.
  395.
  396. Of course, things are never this easy and depending on your party,
  397. things can go by extremely smoothly or terrible. Playing with randoms is a mixed
  398. bag, but costs no stamina as long as you join a group.
  399.
  400.
  401. >So who are we up against?
  402. Most of the bosses are ones from other FF games. They are, if you want to prepare...
  403.
  404. Ifrit (Fire)
  405. Tyro (No element, limited time event)
  406. Shiva (Ice)
  407. Odin (Wind)
  408.
  409. Upcoming:
  410. Hashmal (Earth)
  411. Anima (Dark)
  412. Bahamut (Dark)
  413. Ultima (Light)
  414.
  415. (Later, double monster quests begin to show up, such as Ifrit and Odin together, etc.)
  416.
  417. Each boss has a different difficulty level marked by stars which
  418. determine what loot they drop on a sucessful run. As you go up,
  419. bosses can get Guardians who assist by casting debuffs and powering the boss
  420. up when they die. It's still worth killing them for extra mats, assuming your team
  421. can handle the power up.
  422.
  423. =============================
  424. [6] Tower Events
  425. =============================
  426. Tower events can be considered a form of "PVP" where each player races to kill
  427. a number of bosses. Rewards are given to those who pass a certain threshould.
  428.
  429. As of this writing, two events have already passed, which were:
  430. Adamantoise: Earth
  431. Dahaka: Fire/Wind
  432.
  433. But if you want to get ahead, there are sources on altema that gave results
  434. on what strageties worked.
  435.
  436. Omega: Wind Elemental. Dragoons and dancers dominated.
  437.
  438. Tonberry: Water elemental. Altema lists a lot of classes that did well this event, ranging from
  439. Dark Knight, Dragoon, White Mage, Assassin, Scholar, Dancer, and Hunter. All of these classes have some form
  440. of Fire Elemental Up or Water Resist.
  441.
  442. Ultros and Typhon: Double battle! Ultros is water and Typhon is fire elemental.
  443.
  444. Gilgamesh: Non-elemental, but is able to hit for each of the 4 main elements.
  445. Debuffs were more useful for this tower in particular since Gilgy can take a beating.
  446.
  447. Of note, the very top of this tower has each of the previous bosses returning.
  448.
  449. Rematch Event: All bosses return here in a special tower event.
