  1. By "Experience is important, not the fruits of experience" Wilde meant that it was not important whether the experiences done by Dorian were good or bad. Doing some bad things in your youth tells you how to behave correctly for the rest of your life. Every experience is important, no matter how "sweet or bitter" it is.
