Here written are the principles of living by which even a man of small means may become as a King, and by which his status may be long mantained after it is acquired by one who is both courageous and circumspect, ferocious and restrained.

I. There is poverty.
Pity not the poor, for it is ever within their power to change their own circumstances.

Do not depend on charity, for it is fickle.

Those who cannot formulate and execute a plan to become prosperous deserve to live in want and despair.

II. There is death.

Pity not the fallen, for they have failed to safeguard what was theirs, or else prized something else above their own lives.

Study their ultimate failure and understand it, and spare yourself the same fate - for fate is not carved in stone.

III. There is deceit.

Suffer not those who betray their word, for they devalue it to worthlessness by so doing.

They are to be cast out and shunned by all as a pox, or destroyed if they pose any credible threat.

Make no agreement that you will not uphold.

IV. There is envy.

Protect what is yours.

If you cannot defend it, it does not belong to you.

If you can take it and keep it, it is yours.

Covet only that which is within your meants to take and possess, and do so only from a position of strength and security.

V. There is conspiracy.

Trust your proven brothers, but test them always.

Depend on no one if it can be avoided.

Avoid complacency, and teach fear and awe to those who have become mired in it.

He who cannot keep his subordinates from supplanting him is not a leader.
